Well i think i addressed the fact that the RA style obviously will not be used and no one should expect that style to be used. I am not that foolish and i outlined that in my letter to mattel.

Mattel did say that they would listen to us on the desired scale. And that was nice to here. But Mattel said allot of things that sounded almost too good to be true. But they did make it sond like the scale would be "similar." I still push for the same.

I never took this as a shot at me. Thats what forums are met foor. Back and forth dialog. But i am passionate about the product and about preserving the scale.

I must say i disagree about how you think it makes the fig fans look. I think this letter campagine shows a levle of maturity of the community. ATleast the letterst thatw ere sent to me were very well written and respectful. I feel that in this day in age the presence of a paper lettle speaks volumes. Any schmuck with 2 min to spare can write an angry email to a company. And emails are filtered through a generic compoany email and usualy either deleated or given a usless auto responce. It's harder to ignore a physical presence and i hope and feel our method will be taken more seriously. It shows that effort and thought was put into what we said and i expect it to make a statment.

Some feel that this is just a "toy jugernaught" that could care less and our voices are like the buzzing of flys to Mattel. But from my point of view, from a bussiness point of view, it should be welcomed whole hartedly. You're consumers telling you exactly what theyw atn to buy as you are int he planing phases of producing it. I see nothing but good coming from this campaigne.

But didn't they already say in the interview that their main line will be a 6" - 7" sized action figure, as they believe that that is the popular core size for action figures these days?


Again, my post wasn't a shot at you Naparo, I just tend to find that we may look childish to Mattel, thus meaning that they may take our future ideas or reccomendations very light-heartedly.

I guess you're right in what you say.

I think that this forum in general can be very childish and immature looking. Like a lot of members have very little knowledge of things (for example, many people will agree that Jakks messed up 3-pack Kane because they made too many RA5 Kane heads and they were just lying around. In reality, Jakks would make the amount of items that are to be distributed. No more, no less. The same argument applies to the AD13 sets. People here assume that they had left over TTL arms and decided to use them instead of RA ones to get rid of the TTL ones. its a silly thought process, but its the usual reason given for some of Jakks' mistakes).


I can understand that a reasonable scale will be desired, but its practically guaranteed anyway as most of their lines are made to a similar scale anyway. I mean, what is the general fear? that they will go too big or go too small? neither are likely too happen.


If i was going to complain to mattel, it would be about the consistency or articulation. From what i've seen, a lot of their stuff has different articulation in the same line and series.

For example, a figure i seen of The Penguin has practically no articulation, but a Batman figure i seen in the same series had DA-ish articulation.


So.. equivalent that to WWE and JR will have bare minimums of articulation, Triple H would be RA-ish, and Jeff would be DA-ish.


Would seem very off and bizarre to me and would hurt the line in my eyes.

I Can't dissagree with this statment at all. I agree that on this board and the interent in gneral ppl tend to be allot more ballsy than they normaly would be and can often come accross as simple minded. THe age old statment "oppinions are like a-holes everone has them." Well With the interent net now all those a-holes have a facless easy method to express there oppinons.

WEll personaly it hink szie is a big deal and i want to stick to the 7inch. I want the same scale unlike the DA promis that was broken. KNow when i say scael i dont' mean that all figs should be 7inches. I mean that the standrad fig shoud be 7 meiang 6foot=7inches aprox. Ofcourse taller guys shoudl be taller and shorter ones should be a bit shorter.

I just want to make it clear that i am not starting a complaint campagn. but more of sugestions for a futrue product. Now if they faile to meet my requests then i will fund a complaint campagine .

Yes, I see what you're saying. Despite the intellegence of any individuals on the forums, when we all get together we seem to just shoot each other down, or in cases, the same wrong reasons for a mistake will be said so many times, that people will believe them (the left over items by jakks thing for example)


Chances are that by 2010 I'll have long been out of the collecting game. I reckon I'll be finished up by the end of the year, so whatever Mattel choose to do will not personally effect me, therefore I am not taking this as serious as others. However, i was still into collecting 100% when the announcement was made, and honestly.. I just cant see any legitimate threat from Mattel to our Jakks collection.


I know people say that "boo hoo, get over it, its a scale! we had to go through the BCA to TTL, and the TTL to RA!" but i understand the importance of Jakks and the Classic Line.

Obviously we'll see Cena, Undertaker, Kane, Triple H etc. in Mattel's line, so we can re-purchase them, but as you said, the chances of getting a Mattel Benoit, John Studd, Mankind or even Ultimate Warrior is a hugely slim chance.

But i cant fault Mattel. They seem to know what they're doing with their other lines and i hope that their accuracy and realistic perspective on their current action figure lines will carry over to their WWE line.

I seen they had two figures before in a picture PJ showed me, and whilst i hadn't a clue who the two were, they were scaled like Khali standing face to face with Rey. And it looked great to see them doing something that jakks were capable of doing, but just blatantly too cheap to bother.

It is Jakks attitude that has bothered me for so long. They have a representative who has his own site where he makes threads, announcements, etc. and even does interviews with us... Does anything ever come of it?

No.

In the last interview, we asked

"Will we ever see a leg mould made for semi-tall guys that wear tights like the Undertaker, Kane, etc."

and Jeremy tried to dodge it by saying

"well we have Khali, Big Show. Those are taller"

Then, to his credit, Tim Ash asked him again and specified Kane and Undertaker. What was Jeremy's reply?

"Absolutely".


We were, and i quote, "Absolutely" gonna get a new leg mould.


Never got it. Never will. Even if we do get it, Kane's CS figs are over and done. We'll never get a proper scaled Kane figure now. And its unlikely the Undertaker will get many more classic figures.


Jakks are most likely cunning enough to do some new moulds when they get the TNA line, so they can force us WWE fans into buying some TNA figures to customize into our favourite WWE wrestlers. They know that their TNA line will not be anywhere near as popular, so there is no doubt we'll see them come with awesome accessories and moulds that will appeal to a WWE fan.



This is the number one reason why i can not wait for Mattel. They are a well known company for putting out a decent product (yes, they have had toy recalls due to crappy plastic, but at least it was a good product that was being recalled).


Jakks have become complacent. They have appeared boring and predictable.


Show me any wrestler in the world and i can tell you how jakks would make him. Its also their ability to show us a perfect figure prototype and then change it for no reason whatsoever when they release it. Jakks do some things that arent just stupid, but are mind boggling.


I know i've gone off topic a fair bit, but im just trying to evaluate the whole deal. And i think that even if there is a small scale change...For those who stay in the game, I think it will be worth it.

Yes. And we have expreinced compnay an scale changes before but just b/ce we have "suffered" thorugh this before donest mean we should do it agina. And no other actionfgure compnay has cone the breadth and depth of the brand as far as wrestling goes as jakks has. Wich is why i am so passionate about this.

You're points on jakks short comings and Jeremys often not so truthful have harted answers are completly correct. wcih is why im skeptical about what matell has said. What do there absolutly's mean? But even if jakks and jereml;y have told mistruths and flat out lies atleast they have heard us. Wich is more than i can say i have seen from other compnaies.

I never would say jakks is perfect but they have done thingw with the WWF/E line that have been revolutionary for wrestling figures; classics, accesories (wethere we like to admit it or not they brought us tables, laders and chairs), scale rings and accesories, enterence stages, cages, playsets. So its sad to see them go. Kinda like when 2 friends twho were dating split up. YOu kown you can still see them both bu it will never bee the same.

All in all im looking forward to seeing what mattel can do. Cause i know they can do all that jakks has done and more. They have a high standard to meet as far as im concerned. And with what there company has the abilty to do i expect even more.

The internet has now opened up a world were we can be as direct with Jeremy, Jakks and Mattel as we want to be.

We can now complain, discuss and be more interactive with the companies that produce the products that make our hobby.


I understand that Mattel also have the potential to completely ignore us too. And as some would say it "better the devil you know, than the devil you dont", but I am happy to give them a chance. When just seeing a new foot mould is exciting, you know its time for a change.

I also do agree, Jakks have been a major company and have given us some serious stuff. But like i say, they have become very complacent and rely on what they have. They dont feel the need to introduce new items, moulds or anything any more it would seem. I will give them all the credit for making WWE figures an amazing collectible item, but they have become lazy.

Let this convo serve as an example. Saying "jakks sucks" "jakks is lazy" are just empty statments. But if you talk it out and have a bit of dialog you can come out with a differetn perspective. Be respectful and respect should follow.
