According to the scale I bought two weeks ago, I've lost 13 pounds between then and now. Either it's wrong or I'm doing something great.

My gym is under new management.
I knew the guys who ran it before pretty well so I don't know how well I'll like the changes the new ones make. I'll give it a try and see.
If not, I'll be going to the new gym near me full time.

What have you been doing? Basically starving myself. that's no good, slapster! hard on the heart. simply reduce fats and sugars in your diet, you can still eat lots. throw a bit of cardio in there and you're on your way.

starving yourself actually makes your body hang on to body fat because it thinks you are starving to death. lose weight at first then it will dead stop and you can actually gain weight on fewer calories. Lift weights, build muscle you'll burn more calories than cardio

Get some kettlebells, after swinging them around you will sweat like crazy.
Jump rope for 1 minute, 20 kettlebell swings, Rest for 30 seconds Repeat x15.

Heading to the gym tonight. Haven't been in about a week. Will probably do a bicep and forearm workout tonight.

I'm glad I came across this thread given my current circumstances.
I lost my job back on the 26th April which amongst many other problems has now also got me thinking about trying to work on my exterior image. I worked as a branch assistant in a wholesale depot which was very physical. Hauling bulk around a branch on various stacked pallets, shifting kegs onto shop-floor and assisting customers with heavy items.
Saturday: 7:00am-4:30pm (20 min morning break + 1 hour lunch) Sunday: 9:00am-4:00pm (30 minute break) Monday: 7:00am-5:00pm (20 min morning break + 1 hour lunch) Tuesday: 7:00am-5:00pm (20 min morning break + 1 hour lunch)
Considering that this job was physical, I lost a satisfactory amount of weight over 9 months. I didn't even have a specific diet.
I began cutting out snacking between meals, eating at necessary times of the day and drank more water.
As mentioned earlier, I don't know how to keep striving now that I've lost my job. I've heard tremendous things about DDP Yoga and I'm more than willing to give that a try.
I'm quite a home bound person but that's another story. I don't know a single thing about fitness and found this thread helpful.
I like the idea of trekking for a pro-longed period of time in an immense woodland environment.
So with that said, I'm also very open to tips and suggestions.

@tillhammervince I would try DDP yoga then. I have it and love it. It works and DDP isn't lying when he says it's YOUR workout. You can modify it to make it easier to learn the routines until you get to where you can do the tougher positions and workouts. It has so many workouts and they target almost every body part. It will make your body and joints will another better, too.

Sounds like you already recognize part of the issue. Motivate yourself to slow down on the gaming and hit up even some light cardio in that time. Do it progressively - first 10 mins, then 15, and so on. Stairs at the gym is a great option as well. Once you are burning a steady amount of calories a day, consider how many fats and sugars are currently in your diet. I personally don't worry about my carb intake or outtake, other than making sure that I'm eating a steady amount of them daily. Unless we're talking hardcore training, I think you're in the same boat. So just focus on the fat amounts and sugars. If you're exceeding roughly 25 grams of sugar a day (you are), then you're going to be gaining weight unless you're doing serious activity. If you drink pop at all then you need to stop. Drink water and milk only. Even juice has unprecedented sugar levels.

How much fat should I try to stay under per day?

Yeah that guy is right pop is bad, fruit juice can be staggering in amounts of sugars and calories seriously. Here is what helped me, get a food journal and write down everything you eat. Stop guessing and actually measure it. If you want a handful of chips measure it and write down what you eat (this stunned the hell out of me when I did it). Awesome healthy snack is tuna fish (I have a can at my desk always incase I get hungry at work)1 can is 100 calories and 24g protein. Without working out at all you are maintaining your weight of 225lbs with 2456 cal/day (perhttp://caloriecontrol.org/healthy-weight-tool-kit/assessment-calculator/)so taking in fewer than that, either through diet or exercising burning calories or a combination of both you will lose weight. If possible I would recommend joining a gym, building muscle burns more calories than cardio (muscle as rest burns more calories than fat so the more muscle you have the more calories you burn at rest)if you'd like I am more than happy to help you come up with a good starter routine.
As for the man boobs, here is the bad news, you can not spot reduce fat, this is why people (kevin owens) can be pretty fit but have a gut. However chest exercises help build up the muscle under the fat which will help firm up your chest as you work towards the body that you want.
While you are working on your food journal, also write down how you feel, all your thoughts because man this will get hard at times so stay positive, write down the little wins, like I did not eat the doritos today or I passed up free donuts at work. Don't let friends or anyone pressure you in to eating poorly, you know the body you want and you are going to work hard to get it.
I've gone from 375lbs to 280. I know what you are going through bro, and if you ever want to talk let me know
