J.R has been heel in 1996, when he brought in fake Razor & Diesel. Also in 1998 when he brought in Dr. Death and had his own announce booth, it was after WM15 following his return from another bout of Bells Palsy.

Two times Ahmed Johnson was supposed to have a WWF Championship match, but both times he got hurt before the match took place.
The battle royal he won on Raw to get a championship match with Shawn Michaels the day after Summerslam 1996.
The title match with the Undertaker at Canadian Stampede in 1997. He was replaced by Vader in that match.

What about the whole "I still remember" note that Booker T received, was that supposed to be Goldust? Is there a video of this?

In Ric Flair's book, he said the original plan for his match with Savage at WM 8 was for him to retain the belt. However, once Savage pissed, moaned and complained, the result was changed.

although it probably never would have went through (as g2 and i once discussed), bret hart speaks often of the fact that vince mcmahon, while buying up or shutting down the territories, was planning for dynamite kid to be his 'big attraction'. of course, dynamite proved to be a liability quickly, vince started seeing the potential in the cartoon circus freakishly large men which led to their mainstream success.
i can't help but feel (and i know this is the dk diehard in me) that if they'd marketed dynamite properly he could've easily been huge based on performance alone - JUST like how he was so over in japan for his legendary matches...and still is today. i also feel this would have cut through the bullcrapprocess of vince's hard on for huge guys to what the true wrestling fan craves for: amazing matches. we'd have to wait till the mid 90s and a steroid scandal for vince to change his mind, and it's still going on today.
like, why is the great khali really a professional wrestler? really? he should be an enforcer at best.

Would have been amazing in 93 if Bret had gone through Warrior at the rumble savage at mania and hogan at Summerslam. Would have made him a even bigger legend than he is now I am sure Bret vs Savage would have been a classic I know they had a couple of matches before Bret was a star but in 93 I think it would have been a classic. I also think he would have got a very different match out of the Ultimate Warrior than we had seen before. I agree. I think Hart vs Savage at WrestleMania IX would have been a classic! I think Hart vs. Warrior would have been an interesting match to see becaus eon paper it seems completely mis-matches. Hogan vs. Bret at SummerSlam '93 would've been fun to see but I don't think it would be a classic. I still want to see those promo photos taken for the event (Hogan and Hart playing tug-a-war with the belt)

some great ones mentioned......heres some more Brutus Beefacke to beat Honky at SS88 for the IC strap-Injury prevented this) Brutus Beefcake to win IC Title tourney after WM6(injury again) Hawk and Animal vs Ax and Smash over the tag titles.Demolition were to be morphed into unbeatable heels and only LOD would be able to get the job done at WM7.but after Ax hurt his back and Crush was filling in Vince lost interest. Summerslam 90 was still to play out the same with LOD costing Demolition the title/evening the odds......but they were to regain it at a later point in the year after which the Harts would split.but after seeing Crush didnt work Vince left the taggers on The Harts and used the Nasty Boys as LODs big title winning feud. such a pity Ax hurt his back so badly. man that would be so awesome if that happend.

Also, There's the title change that actually happened before it didn't happen: the Rockers one and only tag title win in WWE was in a 2/3 falls match with the Hart Foundation, but the ropes broke during one of the falls and they didn't feel they could televise the match and then Vince changed his mind and never put the belts on him. That match is on either Bret's or Shawn's DVD set.More recently, of course, was the HHH/Orton match for WM 21. That changed due to Orton being a bad babyface, which was really WWE's fault for turning him too soon, and Batista getting over with the crowd. Just heard an interview with Dave Lagana who used to work creative for WWE, and he said the decision to put the belt on Rey at WM 22 was as last minute as it ever got there, and it was Pat Patterson who really pushed for it. Not sure if that fits what you were asking, but still..... Thats not accurate at all. Jim Neidhart was released from his contract so they had the Hart Foundation drop the titles to the Rockers. Before the airing of the event, Neidhart was rehired and the titles were just given back to the Harts with no mention of it on TV. The "broken rope" was just the reason they used for an excuse. -Originally the apple spitting gimmick that Carlito adopted in his WWE debut was meant for Chris Jericho who himself thought he could not pull it off. -Originally Kane was supposed to defeat Triple H to unify the intercontinental and WHC titles in 2002 -Originally Hulk Hogan was supposed to face Ric Flair at Wrestlemania 8. but hogan felt he was worth more killing a "giant" in a defeat of Sid Justice, so Randy Savage was sugguested by hogan to defeat flair and take the title -Originally Triple H was supposed to win the 1996 King of the Ring, but b/c of Vince McMahon's anger at the break of kayfabe and the curtain call incident at MSG, Stone Cold Steve Austin was given the push instead. - Originally John Morrison was supposed to be in the main event at Extreme Rules, then he gave Trish stratus the "cold shoulder" and R- Truth got the spot, then R-truth took up smoking and John Morrison apologized and R-truth got burried on RAW and John Morrison regained his push, -Originally Hulk Hogan was supposed to work against Ricky Steamboat in mid 1985 but steamboat refused to go heel and instead Hogan feuded with Big John Studd -Originally Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage was booked for Wrestlemania 2 , but Hogan opted to work with King Kong Bundy instead. -Originally When Hogan learned that WWE Heavyweight Champion Bret Hart was scheduled to drop the title to Yokozuna at Wrestlemania 9, he informed Vince McMahon that this will be the first Wrestlemania that a face doesn't win the main event and the "people aren't gonna like it". Hogan suggests "surprising" the audience by challenging Yokozuna immediately afterward and beating him to win the WWE Heavyweight Title. Vince McMahon agees. Hogan beats Yokozuna to regain the title. -Originally Hulk Hogan vs. Bret Hart was scheduled to be the Main Event of Summer Slam 1993, hogan left the company instead -Originally after Shawn Michaels put over Hulk Hogan at Summer Slam 2005, Hogan and HBK were supposed to continue the feud and have a Steel Cage match in which HBK was to go over, this never happened. Hogan claimed to be "hurtin' in the knees again." Later that year WWE creative booked Hulk Hogan vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin but Austin later backed out refusing to put Hogan over ( thank goodness ) -Originally, Randy Orton was supposed to go over in his feud with Hogan, "killing the biggest legend of them all" during his "Legend Killer" gimmick and thereby elevating Orton to huge new heights, Hogan refused to job and forced Orton to job to him. Half of these are inaccurate as well. -Hogan vs Flair match never happened for 2 reasons, 1)Sid had it in his contract to face Hogan at Wrestlemania and 2)All the shows headlining Hogan vs Flair had piss poor sales. WWE dropped the idea since they were putting mania in a 65k seat stadium and didnt want another flop like the Mania before. -R-truth has always been a smoker......so is Randy Orton, that has nothing to do with him being given or removed from the title picture. -The Hogan vs HBK rematch was never set, rumored or scheduled to be a cage match. Hogan did back out claiming a knee injury though. -Austin vs Hogan was never booked. It was talked about but money and outcome could never be agreed upon.

Shane "Dean" Douglas booked to beat Shawn Michaels for the IC Title at the October 1995 In Your House PPV allowing Shawn to build toward a World title reign, and have Douglas feud with Razor Ramon over the IC title...
of course,Michaels was beaten unconscious a few days before the event, and couldn't physically compete, therefore changing the match to the new IC Champ Douglas vs Ramon....suppossedly Kliq influence led to Razor beating him for the belt that night, and Douglas was pushed out of the title picture (at least on televised events)...

Someone said it the best so far in this forum, there's a different between something that was actually planned, and something that was rumoured to be planned. It seems unfortunately, there seems to be more rumour of plans, rather actual plans

GTV.... where was it going? RAW GM.... when/where/who is the raw gm? GTV was supposed to be Goldust, but he got released. No one knows who the RAW GM, not even WWE. Not a "plan that didn't happen" or anything like that really, they didn't know who would be GM from the start so they did the anonymous thing until they figure it out.

It seems unfortunately, there seems to be more rumour of plans, rather actual plans but aren't ALL plans rumors until they actually happen,or don't? i mean, unless we have someone who worked for WWF/WWE ,it's really all speculation, isn't it? it's all something we heard from somewhere, but doesn't necessarily make it the truth.....Shawn Michaels says this was suppossed to happen....but Bret Hart says this was suppossed to happen instead...so who's telling the truth?

The problem is stuff that is purely rumor and speculation with no basis. At least with conflicting stories, you get the idea that there was more than one plan. Something where something was put in place then scrapped is different than just a rumor going around.

In Ric Flair's book, he said the original plan for his match with Savage at WM 8 was for him to retain the belt. However, once Savage pissed, moaned and complained, the result was changed. That's definitely not true at all, Ric Flair had no pull in WWF. Hulk Hogan scripted Savage's title win immediately upon turning down a match with Flair since he thought Himself vs. Flair wouldn't draw big enough, and wanted to work with Sid Justice before he departed the company. Hogan was booked to beat flair for the title originally and then savage was given hogan's spot and was -always- booked to take the title.
