WrestleMania X :
Lex Luger to beat Yokozuna for the WWF World Championship, with Roddy Piper as guest referee....only to lose it to Bret Hart in the last match, with Mr. Perfect as guest referee...
changed due to Luger's big mouth, and telling a NY Daily News reporter all about it.... granted,in the end not much was changed...i mean Hart was gonna walk out Champ no matter what, only things they DID change were switching the ref's for the matches, and having Luger lose to Yoko...

Royal Rumble 1994...a change due to a botch....Luger and Hart both going over and both hitting the floor WASN'T suppossed to happen...only thing i don't know is which one of the 2 was suppossed to win the Rumble...something tells me it was probably Hart, since Luger and the 'Lex Express' had run out of steam by this point....

forgotten about Jindrak and Evolution.
another was Bret vs Savage at WM9.Vince wanted Bret to go over Warrior,Savage and Hogan in 93.but ironically none of them happened
Warrior was fired in Nov 92 McMahon changed his mind about Bret vs Savage(pity) Hogan wouldnt do business about SS93.

I don't know how true everything is but this is what I heard back then.
I had read that they were planning ahead to do Razor Ramon v. Shawn Michaels Ladder Match 3 For the WWF Championship at Survivor Series 96 at the Garden, but then Ramon jumped to WCW.
Then it was going to be Warrior v. Michaels at Survivor Series 96 but he was fired.
Then it was Vader v. Michaels (on the 2002 Survivor Series DVD they have a special feature with all of the previous Survivor Series Posters. On the 96 one it shows Bret v. Austin & HBK v. Vader)
Finally Sid was the one who got the match, so he was 4th choice.
Apparently Jeff Hardy was supposed to win MITB at WM24, cash it in that night and win the WWE Championship. (Don't know how true the cash in is, but I believe it due to what Michael Hayes said on the Jeff Hardy DVD about how it was supposed to be the biggest night of his career and he blew it)

Something similar happened in 2005 with Cena and Batista. Batista was supposed to win, but he accidentally went over with Cena, so McMahon hurried down and tore his quads after sitting in the Gorilla position all day without stretching.

This isn't true. Bret talks about it in his book. The entire thing was carefully planned. If you watch the "debate" between the two refs after the match it's obvious it was planned. Paul Burchill and Katie Lea were going to be in an incestuous relationship but wwe went pg. Randy Orton was going to win the case at MITB this year not miz (wwe writer john piermarini) in 1994 hogan was supposed to drop the title at Bret hart but refused and did the job to yoko (one big reason why bret hates hogan to this day) Shawn Michaels was going to interfere in the Taker vs HHH match at WM 17 but showed up to the raw before the show really high and was sent home. He and Hunter did not talk for a year after this.

Wrestlemania 7's main event was originally planned to be Hogan-Warrior 2 but Vince decided to capitalize on the heat Sgt. Slaughter was getting. And that match stunk to the sky.
WM 8's main event was originally planned to be Hogan-Flair (they wrestled at several house shows) but the steroid scandal and Hulk's subsequent leave of abscence led to booking changes.
Hogan was set to face Bret Hart at SummerSlam '93 but a disagreement between Hulk & Vince led to Hulk leaving again.
Sid Vicious was scheduled to win the WCW title from Vader at Starrcade '93 but after his real-life fight with Arn Anderson (the infamous scissors brawl) Flair won the belt instead.
John Cena and HHH tried to convince Shawn Michaels to win the WWE title at WM 23. However, after his WHC reign in '02, HBK was adamant about never again wanting the appearance schedule of a world champ.

Razor to turn heel on Diesel at IYH:2 in the lumberjack match against Sid. It was Mabel in the end that attacked Big D, setting up a boring Summerslam 95 ME.
Summerslam 95 was orginally:
WWF Title Match: Diesel vs Razor
I.C title: Sid vs HBK (possibly ladder match if I recall?)

CM Punk was meant to face Chris Benoit at Night of Champions 2007. For obvious reasons that didn't take place. Apparently the original plans were for Booker T to win the World Heavyweight Title at WM19 but that was changed at the last minute. Eddie Guerrero was supposed to win the World Title before he passed away. Hogan was supposed to job to Shawn Michaels during their feud but went down with an 'injury' before the match could happen. I am really intrigued by things like this too. Triple H thought that booker T wasn't over enough to win the title at mania 19 , aka triple h sees himself as better than everyone who has ever competed outside of flair and hbk.

Am I the only one that would have loved to see Regal as the Raw GM for longer?

-Originally the apple spitting gimmick that Carlito adopted in his WWE debut was meant for Chris Jericho who himself thought he could not pull it off. -Originally Kane was supposed to defeat Triple H to unify the intercontinental and WHC titles in 2002 -Originally Hulk Hogan was supposed to face Ric Flair at Wrestlemania 8. but hogan felt he was worth more killing a "giant" in a defeat of Sid Justice, so Randy Savage was sugguested by hogan to defeat flair and take the title -Originally Triple H was supposed to win the 1996 King of the Ring, but b/c of Vince McMahon's anger at the break of kayfabe and the curtain call incident at MSG, Stone Cold Steve Austin was given the push instead. -Originally John Morrison was supposed to be in the main event at Extreme Rules, then he gave Trish stratus the "cold shoulder" and R- Truth got the spot, then R-truth took up smoking and John Morrison apologized and R-truth got burried on RAW and John Morrison regained his push, -Originally Hulk Hogan was supposed to work against Ricky Steamboat in mid 1985 but steamboat refused to go heel and instead Hogan feuded with Big John Studd -Originally Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage was booked for Wrestlemania 2 , but Hogan opted to work with King Kong Bundy instead. -Originally When Hogan learned that WWE Heavyweight Champion Bret Hart was scheduled to drop the title to Yokozuna at Wrestlemania 9, he informed Vince McMahon that this will be the first Wrestlemania that a face doesn't win the main event and the "people aren't gonna like it". Hogan suggests "surprising" the audience by challenging Yokozuna immediately afterward and beating him to win the WWE Heavyweight Title. Vince McMahon agees. Hogan beats Yokozuna to regain the title. -Originally Hulk Hogan vs. Bret Hart was scheduled to be the Main Event of Summer Slam 1993, hogan left the company instead -Originally after Shawn Michaels put over Hulk Hogan at Summer Slam 2005, Hogan and HBK were supposed to continue the feud and have a Steel Cage match in which HBK was to go over, this never happened. Hogan claimed to be "hurtin' in the knees again." Later that year WWE creative booked Hulk Hogan vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin but Austin later backed out refusing to put Hogan over ( thank goodness ) -Originally, Randy Orton was supposed to go over in his feud with Hogan, "killing the biggest legend of them all" during his "Legend Killer" gimmick and thereby elevating Orton to huge new heights, Hogan refused to job and forced Orton to job to him.

Wasn't Muhammad Hassan going to beat Undertaker at the GAB and then beat Batista for the title?
What could have been.

What could have been. yeah they had BIG plans for him because of the heat he was getting.......pity too-that guy could really go. an All American Kurt Angle beating him for the World Title at some WM would have been great TV.

Man, this thread makes me think Hogan is even more of a jackass than I did before.
On topic- I read in Jericho's book that he was originally in the WM 2000 fatal 4 way, but he didn't really get over so he was replaced by Foley.

Also, There's the title change that actually happened before it didn't happen: the Rockers one and only tag title win in WWE was in a 2/3 falls match with the Hart Foundation, but the ropes broke during one of the falls and they didn't feel they could televise the match and then Vince changed his mind and never put the belts on him. That match is on either Bret's or Shawn's DVD set.
More recently, of course, was the HHH/Orton match for WM 21. That changed due to Orton being a bad babyface, which was really WWE's fault for turning him too soon, and Batista getting over with the crowd.
Just heard an interview with Dave Lagana who used to work creative for WWE, and he said the decision to put the belt on Rey at WM 22 was as last minute as it ever got there, and it was Pat Patterson who really pushed for it. Not sure if that fits what you were asking, but still.....

Got these off a website:
When the Honky Tonk Man beat Ricky Steamboat for the IC title, he was a replacement for "The Natural" Butch Reed who was scheduled to win the gold
WWE's first pick for the Mr. Perfect gimmick was Terry Taylor
