Joey Styles and Tazz welcomed the fans to ECW: One Night Stand 2007. The crowd at the Hammerstein Ballroom was going wild as it felt like the old days having ECW there. Styles reminded the fans that all eight matches would be contested under Extreme Rules. Before the first match began, the announcers then said that due to traveling issues, Balls Mahoney and Nunzio were not able to make it tonight. The Sandman vs. Tommy DreamerDreamer entered first, and then The Sandman did his entire “Enter Sandman” entrance as the crowd sung along the entire time. The match started off with short mat wrestling. Dreamer then went outside and grabbed two trash can lids, and brought them into the ring. He picked up a lid, and gave one to Sandman. Sandman went to hit Dreamer with a lid, but Dreamer knocked it away with his own lid, and then cracked Sandman in the skull with a lid. He then hit Sandman with the lid again, and then Sandman retaliated by hitting Dreamer back. They exchanged shots until they both fell down at the same time. The two then went back to regular wrestling for a couple minutes, and then Sandman hit Dreamer with a Russian leg sweep. Sandman went to the outside and grabbed a table. Struggling, he brought the table into the ring, and set it up. Sandman then picked up a lid and hit Dreamer in the head with it, and then placed him on the table. Sandman climbed to the top rope, did a flip, but Dreamer moved, and Sandman crashed through the table. Dreamer took advantage by picking Sandman up and planting him with the Dreamer Driver to pick up the win. Winner: Tommy DreamerThe two men hugged after the match as the crowd gave out a loud “ECW” chant. Maryse and Sylvan Grenier came out as Maryse’s match was next. Maryse got on the microphone and said she would take care of Kelly Kelly tonight, and gave the microphone to Grenier. Grenier said that he is happy to be on ECW, but not happy to be in the Hammerstein Bathroom. He said that the sky is the limit for the two of them, and they will soon be on top of ECW. Having a small kendo stick with him, Grenier said that it is symbolic because he will show that he can be a great French Extremist. After the crowd was giving him insulting chants, Grenier said that Maryse is the sexiest thing walking, and he is the hottest thing talking. Before he could continue, Kelly Kelly’s music hit and she came out for the match. Kelly Kelly vs. Maryse w/Sylvan GrenierKelly speared Maryse down right away as Styles yelled “Catfight!” as usual. The match started off slow with the crowd giving out whistles and seeming more interested in the way the two divas looked. Kelly gave Maryse a standing cross body for a two count. Maryse then rolled Kelly up, holding her trunks, but only got a two count. Kelly then whipped Maryse into the corner, ran away, and then came back to hit Maryse with the bronco buster. Kelly tried to get the three, but Maryse just got out. Kelly got Maryse up, but got kneed in the mid-section. Maryse tried to clothesline Kelly out of the ring, but Kelly was able to stay on the apron. Maryse then dug her nails into the eyes of Kelly, which sent Kelly to the floor outside. Maryse was arguing with the referee, and as Kelly was going back into the ring, Grenier hit Kelly in the back with the kendo stick, and rolled her into the ring. The announcers were disgusted, as was some of the crowd, although Grenier got a few cheers. Maryse easily picked up the scraps by finishing off Kelly with the DDT. Winner: MaryseStyles and Tazz continued to say that what Grenier did was disgusting as the two celebrated. A few people from the back came to the ring to help Kelly Kelly get out of the ring. Mick Foley’s music hit as he came down to the ring. Foley thanked everyone for coming. He said it is great that ECW is on television screens weekly again. But Foley said that the true ECW still lies right here in the Hammerstein Ballroom. Foley said that the Hardcore Legend will rise once again tonight, and finished it off with a “bang bang”. He then un-buttoned his vest (which was closed this time) and unveiled a Cactus Jack shirt to a large pop. Cactus Jack vs. Hardcore HollyThe two started firing away off the bat. They brawled in the crowd for several minutes, and Cactus even used a fan’s chair to hit Holly with it. They came back to the ring, where Holly found a fire extinguisher to use on Cactus. Cactus and Holly looked under the ring for various items, and went into the ring. Holly was going to hit Jack with a trash can, but Cactus smashed the trash can with a lead pipe, and then hit Holly in the mid-section with it. Cactus went under the ring again, and brought out tacks this time. He then poured them in the ring, and then Holly attacked him. Holly then grabbed the lead pipe and hit Cactus with it, and hit him again. Holly went for the cover, but Cactus kicked out. Holly picked Cactus up for an Alabama Slam, and hit it. Holly tried for the pin, but Cactus got out again. A frustrated Holly brought Cactus over to the tacks. He went for another Alabama Slam, but Cactus slipped out, and gave Holly a double-arm DDT onto the tacks! Cactus went for the cover, and got the three. Winner: Cactus JackCody Rhodes & Steven Richards vs. Kevin Thorn & Sylvan Grenier w/Ariel & MaryseThis match was kept short as Thorn and Richards did the bulk of the work. Near the end, Richards and Grenier were the legal men as Thorn and Rhodes battled it on the outside. Rhodes was about to give Thorn a DDT on the outside, but Thorn plowed him into the barricade. He then whipped Rhodes into the ring post. Thorn got on the apron, and Richards went to knock him off. However, Thorn spat something that was red into Richards’s face, which blinded him. Grenier then rolled up Richards from behind to get the victory for his team. Winners: Kevin Thorn & Sylvan GrenierThe four heels celebrated after the match as the crowd cheered for Richards. Then when Richards raised Rhodes’s hand, the crowd booed a little bit. Rhodes shrugged it off as the two went to the back. CM Punk vs. Elijah BurkeThe announcers noted that Punk has had Burke’s number. Tazz then reminded everyone that Burke has still not spoken on the New Breed disbanding, and that they would maybe still be together if Punk had joined. Throughout the match, both wrestlers looked serious, and were on a mission to win. Punk tried to lock in the Anaconda Vice, but couldn’t get it in. Burke gave Punk the Stroke, but Punk kicked out. Burke tried for the Elijah Express, but Punk kicked him in the face. He then grabbed Burke and hit him with a bulldog. He went for the GTS, but Burke slipped out. He went for another Stroke, but Punk elbowed him in the head. Punk picked him up again to attempt another GTS, and hit it this time. He went for the cover, and pinned Burke for the three. Winner: CM PunkCM Punk celebrated his victory as the crowd cheered him. Burke kept a serious look on his face as he headed to the back. Chris Masters came out for his match against Sabu. He got on the microphone and said that he will take over ECW, and that starts tonight. After getting some “you suck” chants, he went on to say that his building is a dump, and the people are so ugly that Sabu would look like a model compared to them. He said that he is of course a masterpiece in his own right. Before he could continue talking, the lights went out and Sabu’s music played. Chris Masters vs. SabuThe lights came back on, and Sabu was in the ring and he threw a chair at Masters’ face to start off the match. Sabu pounded on Masters early, but Masters regained control. Masters dominated for the next few minutes, and even went under the ring to grab a stop sign. He hit Sabu with the stop sign for a near fall. Masters tried to put in the Master Lock, but Sabu got out before he could apply the hold. Masters went under the ring and grabbed a crutch, but Sabu gave him a drop kick. Sabu then hit Masters so hard with the crutch, that the crutch ended up snapping in half. Sabu went for the pin, but Masters got out. As Masters got up, he met Sabu with a vicious clothesline. He grabbed a chair, and waited for Sabu to get up. Masters went to hit Sabu in the face with a chair, but Sabu ducked. However, the chair had momentum, as it hit off the ropes and catapulted back into Masters’ face. Masters turned around as Sabu met him with a small package for the surprise win. Winner: SabuSabu got an applause from the crowd after the match, but then got hit in the back with the chair. Masters put in the Master Lock as the crowd booed. Sabu started to pass out as referees came from the back to get Masters to break it. Masters looked proud of himself as he got more “you suck” chants from the crowd. Tri-Branded Battle of the Giants: Kane vs. Snitsky vs. VisceraThis match was not well received by the crowd. It was basically a three-way brawl, with the match pace being relatively slow. Kane gave Snitsky a Chokeslam, but Viscera broke up the pin. Viscera gave Kane a belly-to-belly suplex, and then a leg drop. The crowd let out a small “boring chant” as they became restless while anticipating for the main event. Kane was able to kick out at the count of two as Viscera did not look pleased. Snitsky got up to give Viscera a big boot, but Viscera moved and Snitsky connected it on Kane. Viscera picked up Snitsky for a Samoan drop, but Snitsky slid out. Snitsky then proceeded to give Viscera a big boot. Snitsky went for the cover, and got the three, much to the dislike of the crowd. Winner: SnitskySnitsky looked please with himself as he headed to the back, and then Viscera followed shortly after. Kane stayed in the ring to do his pyro to win over the crowd. ECW Championship: Marcus Cor Von (ECW Champion) vs. Rob Van DamThe atmosphere was electric for this encounter as the crowd was fully behind RVD. There was even a sign that read “If Cor Von Wins We Riot”. It was being held by the same guy, in the same section as last year. The bell rang as they stood face-to-face. Cor Von slapped RVD across the face, and then slowly yelled out “The-Alpha-Male”, which mocked RVD’s “Rob-Van-Dam” phrase. RVD slapped Cor Von back, and did his trademark phrase. They exchanged blows as the match actually got underway. Cor Von was able to clothesline RVD out of the ring. On the outside, RVD kicked Cor Von in the face, charged at him, but Cor Von flipped him over and into the crowd. They brawled in the crowd for a few minutes before returning to the ringside area. Cor Von gave RVD a double underhook suplex out on the floor. Cor Von put RVD into the ring, and grabbed a chair from ringside. He went into the ring and blasted RVD in the back with it. He went to hit RVD in the head with it, but RVD ducked, and gave Cor Von the Van-Daminator. RVD went for the cover, but only got a two count, which still excited the crowd. RVD went to the ropes and gave Cor Von the rolling thunder, which still only landed him a two count. RVD then went to the top rope as he waited for Cor Von to get up. He leaped to Cor Von, but Cor Von caught him, and planted him with an Alpha Bomb. After only getting a two count, an enraged Cor Von went to the outside. He grabbed his ECW title belt and brought it into the ring. He went to hit RVD with it, but RVD tripped him up. Cor Von got up, but RVD grabbed him, and kicked him in the head. He leaped up for a Five-Star Frog Splash, but Cor Von moved. When RVD got up, Cor Von smashed the ECW title right into RVD’s skull. The crowd was hoping RVD would get out of it, but Cor Von went for the cover. However, RVD got out of it just before two as the crowd got excited. Cor Von looked pissed off, as he went to the outside. He grabbed a table, and brought it into the ring. However, as Cor Von turned around, RVD met him with the title belt as the crowd got to their feet. RVD then went to go set up the table in the corner. However, someone ran into the ring. It turned out to be Elijah Burke, and with RVD’s back turned and his focus on the table, Burke ran and gave RVD the Elijah Express through the table! The crowd was stunned, as Burke left the ring with a smirk. Cor Von smirked back, and brought a motionless RVD to his feet. RVD was falling over, but Cor Von ran to the ropes and gave him the Pounce. Cor Von went for the cover, and picked up the win to retain his title. Winner: Marcus Cor Von (Still ECW Champion)Cor Von and Burke raised their hands as the crowd looked stunned. Some started to boo, and even a few drinks were thrown towards the ring. The two continued to celebrate as the announcers were in disbelief. Burke presented Cor Von with his title as the show ended.

One Night Stand was an excellent show, man. Great idea to open the show with one of ECW's biggest feuds during the day. The action in the ring was awesome, and I loved the weapons getting involved. Glad Tommy Dreamer picked up the win. The Kelly/Maryse match up was decent. However, it wasn't too spectacular. I'm not too sure about Grenier hitting Kelly Kelly with the Kendo Stick, but it added to Maryse's cheating ways. Not too happy that Maryse won, however. Cactus Jack and Bob Holly had an excellent match. Great hardcore action, and I really liked the finish. Good idea to have Cactus pick up the win. Punk/Burke was an amazing match. It was great wrestling, something that ECW fans loved, and I could tell that the fans at the Hammerstein Ballroom would have loved that one. Glad Punk was victorious. As for the Masters and Sabu match, nothing much to say. Just glad Sabu picked up the win, I can't stand Masters, tbh. The Tri-Branded match was decent. IMO, the match does sound boring, but it was realistic. I could see WWE doing that. Wasn't too happy that Snitsky won, would have rather seen Kan. Oh well. Now, the main event, well, was just INSANE! I loved the contstant fan reaction, and Alpha Male mocking RVD's phrase was gold. A great way to build heat, that's for sure. The finish was amazing, and Elijah Burke coming out really shocked me. I wasn't expecting it. However, I would have much rather seen RVD win the title, but that could have saved for another time. I just don't see a better time than ONS though. Overall, a solid show, and I really enjoyed reading. Thanks for the reply to TNA 2008.

Mysterious how Balls Mahoney and Nunzio couldn't make this show, eh? Hehe. I personally feel that Sandman/Dreamer should of been placed in the mid-card position, but it seems a great place to hold it here, also. Sounded like the right way to get both men over and for the Hammerstein Ballroom audience to get re-energized. I personally fel that the womens match would of received abusive chants from the crowd and is also sort of unneccessary. Especially since it's been running for a month or so now.I'm unsure about having Cactus Jack/Hardcore Holly after Maryse/Kelly when it'd be a good idea to set up Grenier's upcoming match on the card. I hope you advance the feud onto Vengeance, because those two could form a good match, and this rivalry is rushed at the moment. Cactus winning is predictable yet good. The tag team match seemed like the filler-type, glad it was kept short however. Sabu beating Masters was too predictable imo, seemed pretty rushed also. In my opinion Masters should of been like every RAW guy was in 2005 and 2006, invading ECW. Sabu should of been in the main event also imo. Blah filler, absolutely pointless as well. The main event match was very epic imo. You made it very well and Marcos Cor Von winning is an amazing way to generate heat and momentum for the ECW Championship and Cor Von.

Digged One Night Stand but I do hate that name, in 2005 it made sense, not so much in 2006 but still usable, now it's just lame seeing as ECW is back on full terms. Maybe you should of went with an older ECW name like Anarcy Rulz or something. The show itself was great, thought it was awesome to see Cactus Jack wrestling, was happy to see him get the win. Love the pairing of Sylvain with Maryse, would love to see Rene get in the group. Cor Von retaining the title is all good, can see him loosing it to Rob Van Dam sooner rather than later though.

ONS was pretty damn good man, your definitely one of the better newcomers (if you are one, my memory is just shot) and this is along the lines of my ECW and not Ricky's, which is good (OK just wanted to rub my own ego).
Anyway onto the show, nice way to open the show with 2 ECW originals reviving a feud and wrestling an ECW match, the match sounded very good, glad to see Dreamer pick up the W and hopefully a main event push is in store for him. Jack/Holly was a bit weird as I really couldn't see Jack working a match with Holly of all people. But the match still sounded good and the right guy won. As I said before alot seemed filler on the card and the show didn't change my view that much, but the Maryse/Sylvain matches were still well written out and maybe a Cody Rhodes heel turn is in store. Punk & Elijah always have good matches, so it was good to see this on the card. Wished Elijah would've won but eh I'm not complaining. Sabu/Masters sounded solid, the finish was good even though I wished Masters would've won, but at least he got his heat back. Main event sounded pretty sweet, again I don't like hotshotting the title to Cor Von but you've built him up really well since, I wished RVD would've won but again no real complaints, Elijah screwing RVD with an Elijah Express through the table sounded awesome as would an Elijah/RVD singles feud.
Anyway for show that had a lot of matches that I would've prefered a different outcome it was still a good show and I look forward to more, keep it up.

Sorry for not replying to other shows I was following but had no time to post. Judgment Day and everything was really good I enjoyed them and glad Cor Von is still champion. One Night Stand was a good read.
Opener was a good hardcore match perfect fit for ECW. Glad Dreamer got the win and I liked the hug and ECW chant afterwards.
Grenier should do well in ECW hopefully and pairing him with Maryse is perfect. Kelly vs. Maryse was alright but loved Grenier hitting her in the head with the Kendo Stick would love to see this on TV. Good win for Maryse.
Good match between Cactus & Holly. Cactus being there makes sense and good win for him. Double Arm DDT on the tacks would hurt well bad but makes a good ending to the match. I expected Holly to hit the Alabama Slam on the tacks and get the win.
The tag match was interesting. Not a fan of Richards & Rhodes being paired together. Liked Thorn spitting blood? into Richards face to help him and Grenier win. The booing of Rhodes afterwards was quite interesting and look forward to see where u go with this. Wonder if we will see a next generation stable appear on ECW.
CM Punk vs. Elijah Burke sounded like a good match. Would rather Elijah Burke got the win but Punk is fine. I am guessing Punk will get another shot against Cor Von which hopefully he loses.
Not looking forward to a Masters push but hopefully you can interest me. Glad Sabu got the win and the post match attack worked well.
Not interested in the Triple Threat match but good filler I guess. Wish Kane got the win but I understand Snitsky winning.
The main event was a great read, really good match. Absolutely loved Burke attacking RVD with the Elijah Express. Cor Von getting the win was good, I am enjoying his title run so far. The New Breed back together again is good and I hope they do well together. I am hoping Burke is the one to take the title from Cor Von in the future though.
Overall good show I liked all the results really and the feuds that should come out of this look entertaining. Also about the name of the show One Night Stand I am glad you kept it the same since the reason its One Night Stand is its the one night of the year that WWE gets extreme so it fits perfectly. Look forward to the next ECW.

(June 5th, 2007) The show starts off with the New Breed’s music as Marcus Cor Von and Elijah Burke come out. They both look happy with their actions from One Night Stand as they are drawing significantly more heat from the crowd. Burke talks first, saying how they fooled everyone for the past month. Burke said that Cor Von giving him the Pounce several weeks ago was all a setup. He said nobody saw it coming, and the plan worked to perfection. He passed the microphone to Cor Von, and Cor Von said that the odds were against him in RVD’s backyard. But, he proclaimed the Alpha Male Era is continuing, and the New Breed is as strong as ever. Burke got on the microphone again, and said that they don’t need a big faction. They will be the most destructive duo in ECW history, and nobody can stop them. Burke then said that they’ll put that to the test tonight. He proclaimed that they challenge any two men on the ECW roster to meet them in the ring later tonight. Burke drops the microphone as him and Cor Von continued to look pleased of how they are doing. CM Punk vs. Kevin Thorn w/ArielThorn is riding in a short winning streak, while Punk is coming fresh off of a One Night Stand victory of his own. Solid match to open up the wrestling portion of this ECW edition. Near the end, Thorn hit Punk with his Razor’s Edge. He went for the cover, but Punk’s foot was on the ropes. He tried to pick up Punk to put him on the ropes for the Original Sin, but got kicked in the face. Punk then followed it up with a bulldog. Punk went for the GTS, but Thorn slipped out. Thorn picked him up for a Razor’s Edge, but Punk reversed it into a backslide pin. Punk had him pinned, as the referee counted to three. Winner: CM PunkPunk celebrated after the match, as Thorn and Ariel did not look pleased. Thorn looked over to Ariel, and they nodded to each other. The lights went out, as there were shades of red in the arena. When the lights came back on, Thorn and Ariel were gone. Punk was confused, as were the crowd. Styles and Tazz wondered what just happened, and why they had nodded at each other. Rebecca DiPietro interviewed Rob Van Dam backstage. RVD said that he was robbed at One Night Stand, and will seek vengeance tonight against the New Breed. Just then, Matt Striker went up to RVD and told him that he wouldn’t be wrestling against the New Breed tonight, because Sandman and Tommy Dreamer are. RVD looked confused as Striker walked off. In another area backstage, Chris Masters looked into the camera. Masters said that he did not win the match at One Night Stand, but he won the war. Masters said that nobody can break the Masterlock, and that he will rule ECW. Steven Richards vs. Sylvan Grenier w/MaryseRichards took it to Grenier at the beginning, but Grenier seized control for the next few minutes. Grenier tossed Richards into the ropes and picked him up for a flapjack, but Richards got out of the attempted pin. Richards gave Grenier a stiff shot to the head out of nowhere, and then hit a neck breaker. Richards went for the cover, but Grenier got out. Richards then motioned that he was going to go for a super kick, which prompted Maryse to go onto the ring apron. Richards went over to her, and yelled for her to get down. The referee joined in, and Grenier gave Richards a low blow. Grenier turned Richards around, and hit him with a Death Valley Driver. According to Tazz, he calls it the French Valley Driver. Grenier went for the cover, and picked up the win. Winner: Sylvan GrenierGrenier and Maryse celebrated after they cheated their way to another win. RVD found Dreamer and Sandman backstage, and wondered why they signed up to face the New Breed. Dreamer said that RVD got robbed at One Night Stand, and Dreamer didn’t want RVD to go over the edge and do something he would regret. Dreamer said RVD will have his chance for revenge, but Dreamer said that this pair of ECW Originals (referencing to himself and Sandman) want to take it to the New Breed tonight. RVD understood, and wished them luck. Snitsky was standing backstage as ECW Diva Brooke came up to him. Brooke said hey, and then Snitsky said that pain was his pleasure. Brooke then started to rub Snitsky’s chest, seducing him. Brooke said that she thinks the two of them would make a good match. Snitsky then once again stated that pain was his pleasure, and he agreed that they would be a good pair. Brooke then looked down below Snitsky’s stomach, at his private area. In old Snitsky fashion, he said “It wasn’t my fault” as the crowd laughed. Elijah Burke & Marcus Cor Von vs. The Sandman & Tommy DreamerBurke and Dreamer started it off, as Burke took control. He gave Dreamer an uppercut, and tagged in Cor Von. Cor Von came in with vicious clubs to the back. He then wasted no time and gave Dreamer a double underhook suplex, which prompted Sandman to tag in. Sandman came in and knocked Cor Von down with a clothesline. He then sent Cor Von into the corner, where Burke made a blind tag. Sandman went back to Cor Von, but Burke attacked him from behind. For approximately the next five minutes, the New Breed took turns on Sandman. Sandman eventually got Dreamer in the ring, as all hell broke loose. Cor Von and Sandman battled it out on the outside, as Dreamer and Burke did in the ring. Cor Von whipped Sandman into the steel steps, and then taunted Dreamer. His taunting got Dreamer into the corner, where Burke was able to hit the Elijah Express from behind. Burke went for the cover, and got the three. Winners: Elijah Burke & Marcus Cor VonThey beat down Dreamer after the match, when RVD and Sabu ran out to make the save. This prompted Chris Masters to come out as well, and the three of them beat on RVD and Sabu. Punk then came out to even the sides, as the six men battled it out. The faces eventually cleared the ring, and the two sides had a stare down from far away as the show came to a close.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter Notes
The WWE will hold another draft lottery in a couple weeks. However, it is not expected that ECW will participate. Vince McMahon does not want any of the main guys moved away from the show. But on the other hand, he doesn’t want any of the WWE’s biggest stars to be demoted to the brand either. A couple minor adjustments to the roster may be made here or there. So it is expected that a storyline will come out of this as an excuse to not include ECW in the draft.
Balls Mahoney is apparently on the hot seat. He had a family issue which caused him to miss One Night Stand. However, he did not notify WWE officials until about two hours before the event. This left Nunzio out of the picture, as removing him from the match made the match seem more important.
Apparently the plan with the New Breed dissolving and coming back together had been in the works for a while.
Officials are happy with the work of Sylvan Grenier and Maryse thus far.

Seemed like another good opportunity for Marcos Cor Von to gain momentum and heel heat, he does great when it comes to that, too. Seemed a little filler though, only hinting on a New Breed reunion, in which case I wouldn't see as a good option considering the stable broke up about a month and a little bit ago. CM Punk defeating Kevin Thorn is a good occurance for Punk to gain momentum, and I hope eventually he wins the ECW Championship. I hope this doesn't become a long-term thing like before for Thorn though. I personally still hope that Rob Van Dam has an opportunity to become ECW Champion, maybe losing due to interference from somebody [I'll come back to this]. Lackluster Masters promo, he was alright in my opinion but he's pretty suckish. Sylvan Grenier getting the win over Stevie Richards was alright. I see an interesting angle opening for Brooke, the Extreme Expose wasn't as good for Brooke. I say have Brooke be the one who gets turned on by pain and become Snitsky's pet. Humorous segment nontheless. Burke and Cor Von beating Sandman and Dreamer is good, seemed like a decent match. Back on what I was talking about with RVD. I believe you shouldn't have him win the ECW World Championship and include ECW in the draft lottery. Get rid of some excess weight like Kelly Kelly and Balls Mahoney [unless you release Balls] for Johnny Nitro. Nitro would be perfect, have Cor Von vs. Rob Van Dam for Vengeance, have Nitro interfere to spark an awesome feud. Good show.

ECW was another solid show, opening match was good, a fan of both Thorn and Punk. I can understand Punk winning and liked the whole dissapearing act with Kevin Thorn and Arial, I hope something comes out of it all though. Sylvan getting another victory is awesome, now I actually hope Cor Von loses the title to a face so Sylvan can challange for the ECW World Championship. Was always a fan of Masters, despite his lack of a moveset, would be great if you made him start expanding with suplex's and such. Maybe a Masterplex finisher. Main event was a good way to end the show. I can see CM Punk winning the ECW Championship over Rob Van Dam but maybe a triple threat or fatal four way with Elijah Burke will happen at the next Pay-Per-View.

I'll admit that I haven't been following this, but after reading the latest ECW I think it's pretty clear that you're easily the best new Simmer we've had in quite some time. Your match write-ups are a good length, and have good detail, and your booking is good. Maryse being involved is just awesome. Her teaming with Sylvan was a missed opurtunity for the WWE. The Brooke/Snitsky segment made me laugh. Main event was good, and I'm interested to see who takes the belt off Cor Von.

In just a few short weeks, the WWE will be holding its annual draft lottery. And just like last year, Raw and Smackdown will be participating. Where does that leave ECW? According to Matt Striker-out of it. Striker said that ECW provides the most exciting action, and he does not want that to change. He said that unlike Raw and Smackdown, ECW does not need any help. While he is open to making trades with the other general managers, Striker doesn’t need chance to boost up the brand. While the general manager has received criticism, he is prepared to shift the focus. “Once people tune in Tuesday night on Sci-Fi and see my major announcement(s), they will realize that ECW is where it’s at”. When asked what those announcement(s) may be, Striker declined further comment.

I enjoy reading this diary, you ECW shows are solid and have a sense of realism to them. I like what you're doing with the New Breed, just hope Thorn gets pushed. I like the Sylvan Grenier and Maryse team, it's a good idea. I am going to continue reading like I have been and like I said, I just hope you push Kevin Thorn a bit more.

This is pretty solid, the new breed are looking good and are being built up as the main focus of the show, the divas matches should just be binned, Sylvan is getting pushed really hard maybe tone it down abit, I'm glad you didn't draft and also glad that you are excepting trades, I second the Thorn push, don;t like Masters being in here, good luck and keep this running

(June 12th, 2007) Matt Striker is standing in the ring as ECW comes on air. He runs down the news on WWE.Com about ECW not participating in the draft lottery. He says that there can be trades done in all of June after the draft. Striker went on to say that he is the general manager of the most exciting and extreme brand in the WWE. He said people are challenging his decisions, and that ECW is missing out on the draft. In response to that, he said ECW is missing out on nothing. Striker mentioned that he had a big announcement, and he called Marcus Cor Von out to the ring for that announcement. Once Cor Von came out, and looked confused as he came into the ring. Striker reminded Cor Von that Vengeance was in less than two weeks. Cor Von was told that he would be defending the ECW Title at that show. Cor Von shrugged it off, saying that he has won ECW Title matches at the last three pay-per-view events. And he said that he would destroy his opponent and come out victorious. Striker said that his proclamation was good and all; except for one thing- he would not have an opponent. Instead, Striker said he would have five other opponents. Because at Vengeance, Striker announced that it would be the return of the ECW Elimination Chamber! The fans cheered as Cor Von looked upset and wanted to know who was in it. Striker said that Rob Van Dam, due to getting robbed at One Night Stand was in it. He also threw in Elijah Burke, and added CM Punk because Punk defeated Burke at One Night Stand. Striker then said that tonight there would be two qualifying matches. The main event would be Sabu taking on Elijah Burke. If Sabu wins, then he is in the match. And if Elijah Burke wins, then the New Breed gets to pick the sixth wrestler. Cor Von closed by saying that The Alpha Male Era would continue. Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Chris Masters vs. Tommy DreamerBoth men looked to be on a mission as Masters still had to prove himself in ECW, while Dreamer was trying to be his former self. Masters overpowered him early, as Dreamer could not muster up any offense. Masters hit Dreamer with a German suplex for a two count. He then hit a belly-to-belly suplex, got up, and hit another. Masters attempted another cover, but Dreamer was able to get out. Masters signaled that the Masterlock was coming. Dreamer was able to duck, and hit a Russian leg sweep. Dreamer picked Masters up for a Dreamer Driver, but Masters slid out of it. Struggling, Masters was able to get Dreamer in the Masterlock. He was tossing around Dreamer for a little bit while holding onto the hold. Dreamer started to fade, as the referee picked up his hand twice. He did it a third time, and Dreamer was not able to respond. The referee had to ring the bell and declare Masters the winner. Winner: Chris MastersMasters looked proud of himself as he walked to the back. Dreamer stood up to an ovation from the crowd, and the lights went out. Kevin Thorn’s music hit as the lights went out, with shades of red still visible. The lights came back on, and the music stopped. Styles and Tazz were still trying to figure out what was going on as the show went to commercial. Balls Mahoney vs. Snitsky w/BrookeBrooke was accompanying Snitsky at ringside for the first time. This match was completely one-sided until Balls got in his trademark punches. When Balls tried to capitalize on his momentum, he was met with a big boot. One pump handle slam later and Snitsky picked up the quick victory. Winner: SnitskySnitsky’s hand got raised after the match as Brooke winked at him. He then grinned, showing off his yellow teeth. Rebecca DiPietro was backstage, with CM Punk on one side of her, and RVD on the other. DiPietro wanted to know their thoughts on the Elimination Chamber match. RVD went first by saying he was robbed 1-on-1, but no robbing will be done inside the vicious structure. When it was Punk’s turn, he said that there would be no alliances. Punk said he came up short last time, but it would not happen again. Cody Rhodes vs. Sylvan Grenier w/MaryseRhodes came out firing on Grenier, forcing Grenier to retreat. Rhodes gave Grenier a snap suplex, and then climbed to the top to hit Grenier with a missile drop kick for the near fall. Grenier got up and hit Rhodes with an elbow to the face. He then picked up Rhodes and hit him with a flapjack. Grenier went for the cover, but only got a two. Grenier picked up Rhodes for the French Valley Driver, but Rhodes slipped out and planted Grenier with a neck breaker. Rhodes then went for his DDT, and hit it. He went for the cover, but Maryse went on the ring apron. However, Kelly Kelly ran down to ringside and dropped Maryse off of the apron. The two started slapping each other as Rhodes looked on, shouting for them to stop. Grenier capitalized by rolling up Rhodes for the three count. Winner: Sylvan GrenierThe two men separated the divas as all four of them were shouting at each other. Marcus Cor Von and Elijah Burke were in their locker room. Cor Von asked Burke if he was ready, and Burke replied that he was. He then asked Burke who they should pick when Burke beats Sabu. Burke thought for a second, and then said that he knows the perfect choice. Potential Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match: Elijah Burke w/Marcus Cor Von vs. SabuThe match started off slowly with some mat work from the two. Sabu picked up Burke and gave him a scoop slam. He jumped up to give Burke a knee to the face, and then got up and hit him with a leg drop. Sabu went to the second rope on the turnbuckle, and gave Burke a leg drop from there. He went for the cover, but only got a two. Sabu then ran to the ropes in the middle of the ring, and jumped off of the ropes. He went to jump onto Burke, but Burke stuck his knees out, and they connected with Sabu. Burke went for the opportune cover, but only got the two. Burke went for the Stroke, but Sabu didn’t let him, and then tripped Burke up. Sabu then applied the Camel Clutch to Burke. It looked as if Burke was going to tap out, but Cor Von got on the ring apron. Sabu went over to him, and he thought he heard Burke behind him. He went to swing his elbow, but accidentally caught the referee. Cor Von then entered the ring since the referee was briefly down. Burke went for another Stroke attempt, but Sabu reversed it. Sabu went for a Stroke of his own. Cor Von ran to the ropes, and ran near Sabu. He went to Pounce Sabu, but Sabu moved, and Cor Von accidentally gave Burke the Pounce! Sabu then gave Cor Von a few shots to the head, and finally sent him over the ropes. Sabu then did a move similar to the Lionsault, and went for the cover. The referee was able to make the slow cover, and Sabu got the win. Winner: SabuCor Von proceeded to attack Sabu after the match, and Burke eventually joined in. RVD came down to equal out the sides. Masters and Punk each eventually ran down, as all six men in the Elimination Chamber match were in the ring at the same time. For the second straight week, the faces were able to clear the heels out of the ring. And for the second week in a row, the show closed with the trios staring down at each other. The announcers plugged the Elimination Chamber match at Vengeance to close the show.

Wrestling Observer Newsletter Notes
The decision to make the Elimination Chamber match at Vengeance was decided upon last week. Original plans called for it at One Night Stand, but creative felt that the remainder of the card would have been extremely weak.
Hardcore Holly has been recovering from an elbow injury but should be ready to go soon.
Expect more random happenings surrounding Kevin Thorn in the coming weeks.
Balls Mahoney is in the doghouse now for missing One Night Stand. While he has not been fired, management was still unhappy about the situation.

Seems like an alright decision to have the Extreme Elimination Chamber return, though it'd of been better off at one of the big four pay-per-views [well, obviously and hopefully not WrestleMania], but I guess holding it at Vengeance is alright. I absolutely hate Chris Masters getting ability to gain contention into the Elimination Chamber match, especially beating Tommy Dreamer. I just feel he's been rushed into the whole situation. Snitsky beating Balls is alright, I was never a fan of Mahoney anyways. Snitsky being managed by Brooke intrigues me. Sylvan Grenier beating Cody Rhodes was fine and dandy. Like Balls, I was never a fan of Cody. I hope you make Sylvan more than the sneaky cheating frenchman [it did work with Eddie Guerrero, but this is Sylvan]. The Elimination Chamber qualifying main event was a good match, glad that Sabu advanced, and like I said before, Chris Masters shouldn't belong in there. I feel this match would be the best if it was all ECW originals and Marcos Cor Von, then it'd be interesting.
