I listened to the Bumps and Thumps podcast today with Greg Gagne as a guest from 8/22 and he claims preorders will go up right after Labor Day on 9/6. Guess we will see.

I think that the legs look a little stubby/short in proportion & they are spread a little too far apart, otherwise they look great.

What I really like about PowerTown is that they focus on this wave. No other line, no new sining, no 5 new preorders without receiving the first one. I kind of like to follow a project without being financially involved for a year up front. That’s quite innovative I think.

They have signed 200 people allegedly, announced quite a few names, and look to be missing all of their deadlines. Not saying it won’t improve and I do understand your point. I just thought it was an amusing take.

I just need enough of the Von Erichs to recreate their Pizza Inn commercial. Look it up on Youtube, you can thank me later

From everything ive been reading, sounds like they're spreading themselves too thin before even getting started. They seem to be focusing on acquiring names and creating other types of collectibles yet, this first wave still hasnt gone live with a pre order/ks.

It’s literally the issue with all these booster lines. Rush: no figures in hand yet doing multiple lines Chella: production slowed a lot on figures preordered yet more lines being done Powertown: talking about 5 or 6 other revenue streams apart from figures Genuinely I don’t know why they don’t learn from each others mistakes

If only they'd join forces. Pool their finances, talent, reach, locations, network, etc. They could be the next S7. But nope, greed and male ego. Oh well.

On their Instagram, PowerTown just announced their figures will be sold through HighSpots. What happened to Kickstarter?
They also said more news coming tomorrow 9-1.

YIKES!! $45?? That’ll be what hurts this line. No way many people are paying $45 for Verne 😅

A $45 price point isn't shocking. But I also don't know what kind of market there is for them at that price. But at least there's a date and some concrete details.

Just imagine when they try to get $45 for Cousin Unknown Rougeau and The Forgotten Duncum child who didn’t wrestle…

Just imagine when they try to get $45 for Cousin Unknown Rougeau and The Forgotten Duncum child who didn’t wrestle… They’re amazing looking figures, and the first set has some name value, so I think it’ll do ok, but you are 100% correct. There’s not much chance they will move some of these unknown wrestlers for $45. Not knocking cousin Rougeau and the forgotten Duncum, etc, but Something like this could kill the line. Perhaps they will re-evaluate the roster.

I’m hoping there’s a bit of a discount associated with the bundles mentioned. $270 for the entire set before shipping is on the pricey side no doubt.

Glad to see a date and price. At $45 I’ll purchase Kerry, Magnum, Stan and Bruiser but at that price Vern and Lou are a no unless there is a great deal as a bundle.

Magnum & Brody are 100% confirmed purchases for me. Once in hand maybe I’ll need to get Hansen and Kerry.

OK, now time to think on this. $45 is a bit steep on these, although he DID mention that there would be coupon codes and discounts - wonder what those will be? Early bird special? Preorder Day 1 and they will all be $39.99? Even at $40, I would be a bit more in on this.
If they are $45, offhand it will be Brody and Hansen right away for me. I already have Kerry & Magnum from Mattel, so at $45, the upgrade is not worth it to me. So that leaves Gagne and Thesz. Both before my time, (I was born in 71) but I do have memories of Gagne as the promoter, as I live in the midwest, so currently leaning towards Brody, Hansen, and Gagne. Will wait to see what discounts or coupon codes they have.
The other question I have currently, and this is getting ahead of myself, but when will wave 2 be announced? If they announced wave 2, and David Von Erich was in it, I would probably be more likely to get Kerry. On the flip side, if they announced wave 2 and there was nothing of interest for me, I would maybe be more likely to get Kerry/Thesz/Magnum from this wave.
Then again, Friday the 16th is a payday for me - so maybe I just work a bit of overtime next week then order them all. Knowing me I am sure I will flip flop quite a bit over the next two weeks.

$5 over some retro style figures considering more material going into them, the packaging is also more involved etc so the price isn’t astronomical - but it’s the lack of names which will kill it.
Can’t see this being a line many will go all in on. It’ll be more a pick the big name stars I think.
Their idea of getting funds and promoting forgotten or otherwise unknown names is noble and all, but this is a business not a charity
