WWE now isn't like the WWF/E of the 80s/90s/ early 2000s. Alot wrestlers from back then own their image and logos, and WWE weren't trying to own the copyrights to everything back then.

The Attires from Showdown Legends of Wrestling are: Hart Foundation attire [With the Bret Logo on it] Yellow Danger Big OH The blue/flaming hart from WM14 I would imagine that all of the above are not in copyright/do able? WWE very likely could have given permission to use the likeness too. With this being a direct competitor I don't see "King of Harts" "Sammy Award Winner" and *maybe* not even "The Rocket" being allowed. We'll have to see. I think Lawler was the only WWE contracted wrestling in any of those games. RVD was in the first game, but once he signed with WWE he was removed from the 2nd and 3rd games.

WWE didn’t start claiming ownership of most logos and things like that until after Owen died (as well as WCW); only gear I believe they won’t be able to do are the singlets that say Slammy award winner because Slammy is a WWE trademark

WWE was absolutely lawsuit happy when it came to trademarks and stuff like that back in the day. They sued WCW because Hall and Nash acted similar to Razor and Diesel. They absolutely didn't mess around with stuff like that.

Are they able to make Owen figures in gear he wore in WWE? Or is that copy-written by them?

This is great news. Also, I hope the weirdos will leave Martha alone now (wishful thinking I know).

Owen Hart as a character was just Owen Hart the person Also y’all know AEW have a pending trademark for The King of Harts right? Idk where this idea that WWE owns everything ever came from but it needs to go away. I would’ve thought it would have after Cody trademarked some of Dusty’s NWA/WCW creations

I'm kind of wondering if the skull/heart/wings design is owned by Bret. I can't see WWF letting him use that same design on his WCW gear if it wasn't. I'm fairly sure Bret owns that

I don't see an issue with some of his gear being made. From a legal standpoint, at least. Martha may not want anything from his WWE run made and that's completely fine. Based on the brawler figures, and her comments in the press release thing, I think that may well be the case. And if so, I suspect that the same disgusting stuff stuff will be said about her that has been referenced in this thread.

AMAZING.
How petty would WWE be to take it to court if Jazwares did use gear Owen had in WWF, lol. It's for charity.

This is such wonderful news. I hope that the creators of Dark Side of the Ring will get some credit for helping Martha and her family realize not everyone in the business is that bad.

My biggest concern here is that we're probably going to end up with 1/500 or 1/100 Owens that most collectors will never even see. I'm sure there will be mass-produced versions, but making Owen an inaccessible chase figure would just feel really tacky.
