I will take literally any Owen they make. He's pretty much my all time favourite. I'm sure they'll be making plenty!
EDIT: Also so glad Zombie didn't get access to Owen.

Not a Jazzwares or AEW guy but man is this a giant coup in general for both. I hope we get some New Gen attires or atleast something customizable to be one but I'd understand if they can't.

Honestly, if the best they can do a black short singlet with pink trim, I'll still buy it. This is a huge step forward for the OHF. Hopefully it gets some of the dorks off of Martha's back who think that anybody but her has the right to decide how she mourns. One of the worst posts Ive seen on here was one where somebody was asking how long Martha Hart has to live so her 2 kids (who also want nothing to do with the WWE) can finally give permission to make an Owen Hart figure. Who knew all it took for an Owen Hart figure to be made was AEW becoming a success.

The Attires from Showdown Legends of Wrestling are:
Hart Foundation attire [With the Bret Logo on it] Yellow Danger
Big OH
The blue/flaming hart from WM14
I would imagine that all of the above are not in copyright/do able?

What wild news. I know itβd been speculated, but itβs awesome that weβll finally get another Owen figure again after all these years. In terms of articulation and overall potential I think Jazwares has the best shot to knock it out of the park.
I canβt wait to see what it looks like. Owen isnβt my favorite legend, but thereβs no way I wouldnβt get his figure.
When I first started collecting/playing with figures as a kid Owen and Bret were two of my favorites.

Tony Khan is a guy that can get stuff done and he gives the fans what they want. What he's accomplished already is incredible, and he's accomplishing things that for YEARS people just assumed could never be done. Tony Khan is doing the impossible. AEW is such a great FAN FRIENDLY company. It's great to watch a wrestling show and enjoy it as a fan, and to see the wrestlers enjoying themselves so much is especially enjoyable. To see wrestlers who were legit miserable in WWE just having so much fun in AEW....it's great to see.

I'm not sure where gear designs and all that fall, but honestly, if I'm just wishlisting, I'd love to see this under-rated gear get made: I feel like it's even generic enough that you could do a passable take on it and get by. Always loved this look. This look was in the Legends of Wrestling games, along with his 97 HF, Danger and Faded Hart attires.

I am interested in how AEW will navigate doing past attires. I don't see how WWE could trademark an Owen gear he wore in 1994 and stop AEW from doing a WWF look. Its a bit of a grey area that I'm just not sure how they'd navigate. Is there legal action that WWE could take to stop Jazzwares from making a WWF-inspired figure? For example, would AEW hypothetically be able to make a 2009 Jericho in trunks? Could they make Moxley in Shield attire? Not to say there is any chance they would, but would there be some sort of legal standing that would stop them? I'd say no. I don't see how it could hold up that WWE somehow copyrighted a look for a wrestler on that level. But I truly have no idea.
I hope not. I really, really want to see the King of Hearts Owen. Even if its a little off, I want the black singlet with pink deco. I hope we are not limited to the baggy blue pants or any other non-WWF look.

Great insight. If they were able to do these attires in a non-WWE video game project, I can't see how the WWE would've picked up copyrights or anything since this game. I am positive Martha wouldn't have made any sort of deal like that.

I suppose if you think about it: Hart Foundation attire has the Bret logo on it, which Bret owns the copyright to that image I believe, so as long as he said yes then thats a go. Big OH - can you have a copywrite on singular letters, especially ones that relate to a name he had pre WWE? Yellow Danger - I doubt WWE would have a say on that, it's litterally danger tape style. And the blue/faded hart - i have no idea, at a base it's a heart symbol.......so doubt WWE could say anything about that.

Fortunately, even if he were in contact with Martha/the Foundation, I think that there's enough evidence to his character out there to make him out to be somebody that she would be less than interested in working with. The second he played the big money Zombie hand, I think he effectively shot any chance he had of that sort of partnership coming to fruition right in the foot. Honestly, if the best they can do a black short singlet with pink trim, I'll still buy it. This is a huge step forward for the OHF. Who knew all it took for an Owen Hart figure to be made was AEW becoming a success. Yep...just a bit of a leg to stand on in terms of "this is what we can bring to the table for you", and someone who could earnestly say that their efforts would be geared more toward Owen's legacy and the benefit of the Foundation than WWE ever could. Martha isn't stupid...she knows that the Khans are in business to make money just like anyone else, but that characteristic doesn't have to dehumanize the organization entirely. Even this press release reads more earnest than all of WWE's philanthropic endeavors throughout each calendar year. It's a shame that the WWE doesn't get to embrace Owen the way AEW will get to now, but they've only got themselves to blame for that one.

Figure collectors have no shame.

WWE very likely could have given permission to use the likeness too. With this being a direct competitor I don't see "King of Harts" "Sammy Award Winner" and *maybe* not even "The Rocket" being allowed. We'll have to see.

I am very, very excited. It could be in a plain singlet and I'll be thrilled. I hope they make a bunch of them.

I just hope they find a way to make these easily accessible. I assume a portion of the sales go to the foundation so it would behoove all involved for them to be as difficult to get as standard AEW figures are.

I don't see an issue with some of his gear being made. From a legal standpoint, at least. Martha may not want anything from his WWE run made and that's completely fine.
There are plenty of Microbrawlers made using gear that guys only wore in WWE (CM Punk, Macho King, and Eddie Guerrero come to mind). There was an entire video game that used gear from WWE in it.

I'm kind of wondering if the skull/heart/wings design is owned by Bret. I can't see WWF letting him use that same design on his WCW gear if it wasn't.
