I would have 100% preferred Neidhart in the '97 skull/wings instead of the Anvil. The eras don't match up and its something I noticed as well.

Personally I’m happy we can display Anvil with the 94 or 97 set up with this elite.

I'm sure mattel will eventually release the proper 97 Anvil (hopefully elite), at least we got a cloth jacket to go with the rest of 97 Hart foundation. Never thought it was going to happen.

It’s a legitimate gripe. If you’re gonna make a 97 HF Anvil then why wouldn’t you give him the attire with the 97 HF logo? No one pictures Neidhart in that attire when they think of 97 HF.

Has Mattel ever made a 2 in 1 that was completely accurate?
Andre - wig was hideous and boots didn’t match up with blue trunks Giant Machine - botched singlet on first run and needed extra yellow boots for WM2 era. Patterson and Brisco - wore swat team cargo pants and shoulda been fatter for stooge era. Patterson hair shoulda been whiter. Jim Duggan - requires you to also own the legends figure since neither the shirt nor crown went with the RF figure Vader - requires you to also own legends figure since mastodon helmet didn’t go with figure it was included with Bruno - was old, bald, had a mustache, and did not wear wrestling attire when he went into the HOF
Thought of one. Mean Gene. Works great as either AWA or WWF.

Bruno, Vader, and Anvil, as stand-alone figures, seem to only be one era with a bonus accessory. Kind of semantics I guess.

I'm more concerned about this figure being a Walmart exclusive, I literally have no chance of getting it. I want it to replace the all pink attired elite.

So I've wanted a set of 1997 Hart Foundation complete with their jackets since I was 5 years old. I realise that Owen will probably never happen, but until now nobody had even come close to doing all 5 guys in those attires. Mattel did Pillman, Bulldog and Bret early on but even when it came to doing Jim they did an early 90s one. Que Jim's second elite, and it's got the Hart Foundation jacket, but the attire itself is from his 1994/1995 run as Owen's partner. 1995: For his return in 1997, he adopted the same skull logo on his singlet that Bret and Owen did. He did BRIEFLY go back to the Anvil logo around May in 97, but he ironically never even wore the jacket when he did. I know it's probably minor to most people, but as someone who has wanted this figure for quite literally over 22 years it's frustratingly inaccurate. Is there any chance Mattel will correct this, even as a running change like they did with the HOC Warrior's logos? I don't think it'll be corrected just due to the fact that the majority of fans won't even notice. I understand you being upset but this is far from being a botch......this is just nitpicking to most.

I looked online last night, he wore four different attires in 1997, you wanna say it’s not the one you want, fine but it’s not a botch. It’s just not the one you wanted.

A chase figure with the black attire would make everyone happy.

I loved the 1997 rendition of the Hart Foundation, but I'm more partial to '94 Neidhart than the '97 version so this figure is great in my opinion.
Definitely can understand people being upset that they didn't go with the expected attire choice given the inclusion of the Hart Foundation jacket. It almost makes you wonder if this was meant to be a '94 version with an added jacket to keep the '97 Hart Foundation fans happy or if they simply went with the more obscure attire from his '97 run?

I really do not think the 97 attire is the more obscure. He was probably more prolific in 97 than in 94, even main evented a PPV with the other Harts in the 10 man tag, appeared on a bunch of other PPVs and stuff as well (like KOTR), his only PPV appearance wrestling in 94 was Survivor Series. He also carried his 97 HF logo attire on through to his WCW run in 98, and was still wearing it in the RAW 15th battle royal in 2007, and against Jay Lethal in TNA. In fact I would very easily argue that the 97 HF logo Neidhart is the most iconic attire setup he ever had.

I was referring to the fact that he did indeed wear that "Anvil" attire during his 1997 run which is why I called it obscure, not the more known Hart Foundation "winged skull" look.

We can never assume anything. Remember when we thought we were going to get a nWo Hogan? Maybe we will someday. But a lot of Legends get figures and then are no longer under contract and we get nothing more. I hope you’re right, though. Wish I didn’t have to get this Anvil off Ebay from a scalper.

This is a bit nit picky for my liking. When they first showed 94 anvil I was happy. Adding a 97 jacket makes me more happy not less. If I pose with the jacket on great, it’s not noticeable to me. Take the jacket off and it’s in the 94 display.
I’m cool with this one.

If Mattel make a figure and its inaccurate then people are allowed to be annoyed. Especially now that it's a store exclusive so alot of people will be paying over the odds for an inaccurate figure and guys in the UK will be paying double/triple retail for it at least. These figures arent cheap even at retail prices so it would be nice if they could at least be accurate to a certain time or match.

True haha but as far as Hogan goes, we had our hopes up because we seen the prototype to Hollywood. Are you in the states? I'm always lucky with store exclusives. I haven't ran into Brisco yet but so far the ones that are out exclusively I've seen.

It's Mattel.. At this point, do you still expect things to be accurate?
They're all about throwing 2-3 different looks in one figure.
