Too bad Lucas does consider the Thrawn Trilogy canon but this is from the SWE7 official Facebook...  Just because they'll never use the Expanded Universe story as canon, doesn't mean they can't use the characters to create a new story. |

I'm expecting that to be the case, primarily with the twins/kids. I'm dying to see Mara Jade, Dash, Talon Karrde, Thrawn, and definitely Kyle Katarn. Seems to me that Boyega's character could actually be Katarn or at least be getting his origin. It also seems they could be using the clone Emperor concept, which is from Thrawn. So I don't think those ideas and stories are going to go completely ignored. I'm not against an all new universe of sorts, but I think it's a mistake not to use established characters from the Expanded U. Most of those properties are far more highly regarded than the prequel trilogy anyway. |

Thrawn would be a great guy to use.....especially since we see there are still remnants of the Empire out there. I dislike the Clone Emperor thing though....I thought Dark Empire was pretty poor if I'm honest.
And are there REALLY people out there that want the prequel trilogy to be discarded? I thought they all delivered at least some greatness and ROTS is excellent IMO.

I WANT THE GODDAMN SOLO TWINS. I haven't even READ the  ing books! I know little to nothing about the Expanded Universe, but I had a conversation with my cousin about it one time, he is a huge fan, and the way he described the Solo twins sounded like one of the best story lines to ever HAPPEN in the Star Wars universe! Boyega as the "new Luke Skywalker" though is really dope.. I had this thought during the teaser trailer when Boyega looks like he's freaking out, that it might have something to do with a "tremor" in the force, or he feels the force for the first time and it scares the sh*t out of him.. I'm taking all of that with a grain of salt. Some I want to be true.. But alot of it I do not want to be true. I still feel like Driver is Jacen Solo, and I feel like we won't know that until Episode IIX. I mean.. SOMEONE HAS GOT TO BE RELATED TO SOMEONE! Han and Leia didn't get married and not have ANY kids. That is utter bullsh*t. Thrawn would be a great guy to use.....especially since we see there are still remnants of the Empire out there. The trailer for AOTC excited the hell out of me......man I remember that so well. I was laid up in hospital after my 1st knee operation and I was able to watch it on TV when it debuted on Irish morning TV.....Jesus I was in awe. And I loved the last 40 minutes.....but Lucas left himself too much to do by setting up Ep1 the way he did IMO. ROTS :when Yoda duels the Emperor? Absolute brilliance.....palps takes him by surprise at first but when Yoda hits back? me I marked out......If he hadn't dropped his lightsaber? he would have killed him. That scene STILL gets me...... |

That is utter bullsh*t. Han and Leia are married and I take it Daisy Ridley is their daughter in hiding according to that info. She finds Luke's lightsaber and meets up with Boyega. So it seems like the Ridley character is Jaina Solo, and I'm sticking with the idea of Driver being Jacen, since they mentioned him having "Sith tendencies." So it could be that Luke and Leia dynamic where they don't know they are siblings, or really who they are because they have been protected. It seems that even if they aren't using those names, which would be a mistake, they are still using that concept, at least to some degree. I think we have to remember this is the setup film too. So they have to introduce and establish these characters. I expect to see full blown Boba Fett in Episode VIII, as well as other storyline revelations unfold. I like that Luke has trained Jedi since ROTJ. Grain of salt with that info but more good than bad imo. |

I really enjoy the first three episodes. I thought the prequels were great. Granit I'm 24 years of age, and the originals were my first exposure but I was so young I was beyond stoked for the prequels to hit! I loved them. Still enjoy watching them. Adrianne and I are making our way through the episodes right now. Just watch Phantom Menace. Brilliant. Love Qui Gon.
