I love Star Wars. To me the Episodes 1-3 are better than 4-6. But this teaser is trash. People were complaining about JW's CGI when this movies doesn't look any better. Some people also have been saying that this "thing" is 10000% better than the JW trailer. I don't understand how there is a teaser when the movie doesn't come out for a year and a month. I remember seeing one for The Host like a year before it came out, but it had nothing from the actual movie in it. This does. I don't understand how it has a teaser when there's no plot yet either. Have the characters names besides the returning ones, even been announced? I'm assuming they just shot random 10 second scenes for this, that won't even be in the movie

I'm curious to what John Boyega's character is. I remember reading a while back though that he was indeed a Storm Trooper who turncoats.. Which is kind of a bummer, because I was hoping he was a Jedi. From what I've gathered though, Luke disappeared after 'Return of the Jedi' and took the Jedi teachings and "force" with him.. So this movie is probably going to start in a world without Jedi, Sith, or any type of force. I always thought he started a new school. I'm not sure how much of the extra-Star Wars stuff is canon, but the whole Kyle Katarn thing is pretty prevalent. |

Until they say otherwise, I'm assuming Driver and Ridley are Jacen and Jaina Solo. Seems like a pretty good chance that Domhnall Gleeson is Ben Skywalker as well if you ask me. Looks like the son of Luke and Mara as far as I'm concerned. Wishful thinking? Maybe, but why  with a universe of established characters when they are natural fits for a new trilogy? I guess we'll see. I thought the trailer was awesome and loved seeing Ridley on the speeder, or whatever the hell that thing was supposed to be. Thought the new lightsaber looked sweet. Didn't even realize that was a thing until memes started showing up on Facebook making fun of people complaining about it. Super intrigued by Boyega. The idea of a Stormtrooper turned Jedi, or even Sith, would be cool if that's how they go. |

I think we established in ANH though that Stormtroopers were like the army and they have people who enlist, so similar to Luke wanting to join the Rebellion. We don't even know the context of him wearing that suit yet, so I don't know why people are up in arms either way. They may come right out and explain it in the film. We truly have no information on the film, we don't even know character names yet haha. |

Of course not all the storm troopers are clones. What is everyone even talking about? I thought it had been pretty well established that throughout the growth and expansion of the Empire's reach, the army became diluted with average folks enlisting. By the time ANH happens, there's an entire Imperial Academy - Luke even mentions early on wanting to enlist as a pilot.
Besides, if the troopers were meant to have been clones, Lucas would have had Temuera Morrison dub over all their lines the way he did Bob Fett's in the Blu-Ray releases.

Maybe it's because I'm not a HUGE if the Star Wars franchise, but I thought the trailer was fine. It seemed very "Star Warsy" with just the right amount of modernization to cover the gap. The story seems intriguing and I'm interested to see where it goes. And I don't understand all the bitching about the lightsaber... I thought it was pretty cool. Ditto for the Millenium Falcon. I mean... It's been 30 years. Han is retired. It's not unreasonable to think that he's had its internal components and capabilities upgraded over the years. But if you still feel the need to complain, just remember one thing...  Can the movies really get any worse? |
