I can't wait to see this. It gave me just enough to make me want more. That lightsaber has so much potential for some cool things in a fight. We have no idea how it's going to be used yet. I imagine it would be useful at protecting your hands, disarming an opponent and blocking more from lightsaber attacks. Everyone hated the Darth Maul saber at first too. It reminds me of swords like this that are made that way for a reason.  |

Lmfao at the negativity for a teaser......and yeah the new Sith lightsaber is based on a broadsword design......its FAR from stupid.
Haters gotta cry bout something tho....

It reminds me of swords like this that are made that way for a reason. The saber can cut through anything pretty much, so the fact that the light emits from tubes that can be cut enough is stupid. It offers no protection. After realising it is based off of a sword though, I am a little more open to the idea of it. Will just have to wait and see. |

That still doesn't stop the fact that the horizontal parts of the lightsaber are pretty much just for show. No one ever had an advantage in a sword fight because the handle went out to the sides at the top. It's little more than an aesthetic. Had they designed it so the blades coming out were as long as a normal blade, it probably would have been quite cool, and they probably could have been able to find a use for it, or at least some cool visual effects. I'm not hating on the teaser because it looks fine from what little there is shown there, but that lightsaber design is seriously dumb. |

I'm pretty excited for this movie. JJ knows the void the Prequels left in fans hearts, and I think he will be able to fill it. Its shoking that none of the OT characters were shown here, but the SDCC15 trailer will be stacked I'm sure.
For the haters of the rolling protocal droid and the Sith Saber. Thinks of this. A droid in sand.... A ball would move faster. The saber, the extra prongs would protect from a slide attack. Its smart.
For anyone who bitches about the rectangle dish on the Falcon, remember, the original dish was dislodged in the Death Star attack in ROTJ. So an upgrade makes sence.

I'm curious to what John Boyega's character is.
I remember reading a while back though that he was indeed a Storm Trooper who turncoats.. Which is kind of a bummer, because I was hoping he was a Jedi.
From what I've gathered though, Luke disappeared after 'Return of the Jedi' and took the Jedi teachings and "force" with him.. So this movie is probably going to start in a world without Jedi, Sith, or any type of force.
