I hope Gunn publicly lights Zack Synder on fire and then has John Cena in full Peacemaker gimmick piss on the ashes.

DC Shocker: James Gunn, Peter Safran to Lead Film, TV and Animation Division
The duo will report to David Zaslav and assume the titles of co-chairs and co-CEOs of DC Studios.
Gunn will focus on the creative side, while Safran will focus on the business and production side of things. Both are expected to continue to direct and produce projects, respectively. They will report directly to Zaslav, and work closely with Warners film bosses De Luca and Pamela Abdy. Sources say the deal runs four years and Gunn will be exclusive to DC. The goal is for them not just to be producers, but to truly function as execuctives even as Gunn will occasionally hone a movie.
Unlike Marvel Studios, DC has multiple films set in separate creative universes, and according to sources, Joker filmmaker Todd Phillips’ work on the upcoming sequel, which goes into production later this year, will not fall under Gunn and Safran’s purview and instead will be overseen by De Luca and Abdy. Matt Reeves, who worked under Hamada, has a budding universe based on The Batman movie. It is unclear under whose purview Reeves’ future projects would fall, but everything else moving forward would be under Gunn and Safran.
Yeah we've seen this before & it's all rosey in the garden until WB decides the movies aren't making enough bank and step in with the jack boot because unlike Disney & Paramount before them? They have NO PATIENCE. I'm a 50/50 Marvel DC fan as my figure & comic collection shows. But I'm completely burnt out with WB. Until I see some evidence they give one chocolate f##k about storytelling, continuity & respect their directors I refuse to get my hopes up. I hope this works out for Gunn. I really do.

Black Adam is likely to take a loss at the box office. It’ll say a lot if WB stays the course and allows Gunn and company to build off this soft-reboot. I’m all for an expanded DCU, but at this point I have no faith in WB sticking to the plan.

Yes Gunn is the "Boss" just like Feige...nope. He has to ask permission to use Batman & Joker. In other words? He isnt trusted with the cash cows. We'll see how sweet & co-operative WB stay now that Black Adam is going to struggle to break even....

Henry Cavill confirms exit as Superman…again! What is going on over there?

I’m exhausted with WB and DC, and this is coming from someone with a Batman tattoo. It says everything about that company when they tell Cavill to announce he’s back in October, and two months later he’s out again.
I’m not a fan of Reeves or The Batman. I like Gunn but his work is hit and miss for me. I think I’m tapping out on DC for a bit like I’ve already done with Marvel.

I get having your own agenda but imo Cavill has been the 2nd best Superman of all time, the guy just plays the part so well. So you want your own stories…cool but wanting your Superman a little younger isn’t that big of a deal when you already had Cavill let go once…then you bring him back….then let him go again. You just look like a clown show.

Clown show is an understatement for WB.
They have an established universe already. The films are hit and miss, but the castings for the most part are on point. They’re already past all the origin stories and can start telling these stories of our hero’s in their primes…and they basically slapped Cavill in the face and say nah, we’re gonna make Smallville the movie instead. WB have four movies coming out next year, which would give Gunn time to tie the universe together and get it back on track, but now they’re pointless as they’re going for a hard-reboot post Aquaman 2. Nothing in Shazam 2, Blue Beatle, Flash, or Aquaman 2 matter, but you can bet Gunn will find a way to shoehorn Peacemaker into his new universe.
I tapped out on Marvel post No Way Home as I felt the quality of the films and shows were dipping and it was just too much content in a short amount of time. Im tapping out on DC now as WB still has no clue what they’re doing and are allowing a hard reboot so we can sit through a bunch of origin stories again.

Wow Johnson tried to powerplay his way to the top of DC Studios, using Cavill along the way, leaking numbers, embarrassingly trying to defend his movies box office performance and trying to compare it to Captain America. Making Cavill post that he was back as Superman to try to generate the box office for Black Adam after dismissal opening weekend was a terrible move.

Cavill confirmed on Instagram that it was WB who gave him the green light to announce his return, not Dwayne. Rocky may have been pushing for a Cavill return (makes sense considering Superman is the biggest DC name after Batman), but it’s WB who makes the final decisions. I don’t see why people are trying to make Dwayne the villain here. He clearly had a passion to get Black Adam off the ground and help get DC back on track. He was going above and beyond to promote this movie for months despite little to no marketing from WB and a terrible release date. WB are the ones, again, that gave Rocky the green light to run with this movie, which gave us fun portrayals of Dr. Fate and Hawkman. And after spending nearly 15 years trying to get this made despite WB’s incompetence, he’s shown the door like the rest of the actors in this franchise who have been jerked around.

Yea I think resetting all of DC after what have been a bunch of great actors with some good portrayals, just tell better stories, we don’t need to start over.

DC has been a joke to me for quite some time, for the most part.
From the incredibly overrated and overhyped Snyder stuff to the back and forth of who’s in, who’s out, what’s canceled, etc
I’ll give James Gunn a chance
But they’re a mess and have been for years

when you compare what WB has done with DC in 40+ years to what Disney has done with Marvel in a decade? I mean... its an absolute farce. Some of those DC movies are all time faves BTW but man they just sat on it and in the grand scheme of things? did ZIP with it.
Black Adam 2 also not going to happen. I think the movie itself will be lucky to break even.

And after spending nearly 15 years trying to get this made despite WB’s incompetence, he’s shown the door like the rest of the actors in this franchise who have been jerked around. The timing of his announcement is everything. I wonder who at Warner told Henry to go on social media...because a week after the announcement they announce Gunn and Safran have control. And Gunn confirmed all Black Adam/Superman stuff was before him. So did a Warner exec just not give a crapand said " it, announce you're back. What are they going to do, fire you?!". Well actually not fire him because Cavill didn't have a contract. It's just a ton of mismanagement and chaos partly caused by the merger. I ing love DC and I have not hidden my feelings about all of it started. I hate Snyder and was devastated when he was at the forefront (I hate Whedon even more though). I thought the movies/stories they decided to make were stupid choices. My favorite movies they've put out are not even part of this universe, Joker and The Batman. Those two I'll revisit. I liked Wonder Woman and The Suicide Squad, but I'll never re-watch those movies. The rest of them I hated. Something positive - they did a great job casting and that's what really sucks. You had the players and the team. It was the coaches and owners that let you down because they didn't have a good game plan.
