Great to see the Jets back in the NHL. That Rypien tribute was hard to watch. RIP Ryper.

Nugent-Hopkins gets his first NHL goal. Awesome.

A shootout loss to the ing Edmonton Oilers, Pens? Really now? I mean yeah, you get a point out of the deal, but you couldn't pick up the win, or at the very least a shootout win? Ugh.

Schneider gets the start tonight for the Nucks. I hope he shuts the door.

Seems like Schneids going to get a lot of start this year. Cue the goaltender controversy.

I was really happy with how they played last night. Chemistry seems to be coming together and guys like Hodgson and Ballard are really stepping up. PK unit was solid also. There are rumors of a trade with Florida involving a goalie, so if i was Luongo id be worried because he's looking pretty expendable. Especially considering the goaltending depth in the their system, Eddie Lack is looking solid again

That first goal on Fleury was hilarious. He was looking for the puck 10 seconds after it went in.

Dude ou gotta chill. They can't win every game. But, I understand the frustration lol. Can't complain about the Pens at all this year. They look extremely strong even without Crosby, Malkin, etc...

Tonight is the night... LET'S GO FLYERS! Not a bad opening video. I could watch that video of Hartnell pummeling Avery all day. I'm definitely not getting too over-confident against the Canucks, but I am excited to see how this practically new team does this time around. Hopefully the outcome is better than the last embarrassment.

Hell of a nail biter, those Sedins made me sweat on every power play. On the other side, any doubts I had about the Flyers signing Talbot may have vanished for good. That guy was excellent on the PK.
The power play could have used some help tonight, they just didn't seem to press hard like Vancouver did.

Especially considering the goaltending depth in the their system, Eddie Lack is looking solid again I personally would seriously question the Canucks chances at the cup without Luongo. As much as I hate him, during the regular season he usually plays hard when he needs to and he's a big reason the Canucks have been as successful as they have been in recent history. One of the biggest things I dislike about Canucks fans is that they have one of the top 5 goalies playing right now and when he's on the whole fanbase loves him but he has on off game and he's expendable and they're calling for him to be traded. I'd gladly take Luongo on the Oilers or something.

Sidney Crosby's apparently been cleared for contract drills, which means he could potentially be back within a couple of weeks.
I'm torn. Naturally, I want him back, but as a human being...not just a fan of the Pens, if he's still not 100% and is pushing himself back just to try to help the team, I don't want to see him get hurt like that again. Even if you hate the guy, I think most would agree with me that that kind of injury (or any really) shouldn't happen to anyone.

Obviously I'm no Crosby fan, but I definitely don't want to see him get seriously hurt. Unfortunately he's just going to be more vulnerable if he comes back earlier and if he were to take another blindside hit, or a check into the boards the results could be much more fatal. I was torn with Ian Laperriere. I really wanted him to play last season and even this season, but the way he blocks shots could be really dangerous with the injuries he's already had.

I think Schneider is going to start tonight against Detroit. Luongo shouldnt be playing back-to-backs especially if he keeps playing the way he has. Speaking of which, I got to meet Schneider and Kesler again today. Got Kesler to sign my jersey Also LLLBD, not trying to hate on Crosby when saying this but I completely agree with Jeremy Roenick with this... sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Jeremy-Roenick-is-sick-of-hearing-about-Sidney-C?urn=nhl-wp14650Even though I dont think it matters now because he was cleared for contact so thats actually news, good news. I believe my hatred of Sidney Crosby has been made clear however its very good to hear that he is close to coming back.
