I kinda was, but it was nice to see a philly win... sorry fattic Hopefully the Canucks can start to rebound and play much better in the third, I think the Pens have controlled the majority of he play so far. It was one of the best experiences ever, regardless of the score at the end of the night. The ceremony was so incredible and emotional, I had tears in my eyes by the end. I know that probably sounds dramatic, but really, it was unbelievable. As far as the game itself...we were straight out worked. Not trying to make an excuse or anything, but I feel like that opening ceremony just drained everyone. Like the crowd was the LOUDEST I have ever heard it for the banner being raised, and after everyone (figuratively, of course) blew their load over that, everyone was just kind of...flat. Regardless I give the Flyers props. They looked nice tonight. Here's a picture of my tickets, I'm too tired right now to put up any of the other ones I took inside the Garden. Im just gonna post the stuff I had to deal with when I said that back in 2009, after Toronto beat Detroit in the Banner Raising home opener. Thats a terrible excuse thats not intended to be an excuse Jk, I think when I put it back then it sounded more like an excuse. But I do feel that the team raising their Cup banner is so invested emotionally to the ceremony it drains them out for the game. I looked it up and the team raising the banner is 2-4 in their home openers. Though Boston came out flying but when Philly took over the game is looked like Boston started losing their edge, it was close though. On a related note, that is a really awesome ticket. and I bet the ceremony and game were amazing to be at. Congrads

Excited for the Blues opener Saturday night. I have a good feeling this year. Stewart was hot with us last year, and Berglund is bound to have a break out year. Hopefully Halak bounces back. I see a possible playoff team, but knowing the Blues, I could be wrong.

I'll admit the ceremony was pretty nice, especially the recognition of Recchi's retirement.

Holy crap, playing the role of spoiler on opening night again. I still can't believe Giroux was able to beat Chara and Thomas at once. Not to mention Byrz looked sharp out there too. I'll just re-quote this. This was pretty much what I had in mind. Groo and Jagr and just going to be nasty on the Power Play. They way they're clicking is just ridiculous. Making drop passes like it was nothing.

Well what an awesome game tonight. Roloson looked like he was in his 20s out there, and our team woke up after the first. Anytime we score 5 goals on a goalie like Ward I am very happy.

Sabres get their first win of the season despite the lack of support from the "home" crowd.

Wing dominate the Sens, then they decide to slack off and let in three goals -_- We won though, thats good enough for me lol, hopefully they play like this tomorrow against Colorado.
On a related note, I just need to see Florida, Tampa and Winnipeg and I will have seen all teams play live at the Joe.

Is this positiveness that I'm reading from my best negativeness-efriend? Boo. And that's cool R. I've gotten to see the Devils and the Blue Jackets live here in Pittsburgh...sadly, I've only been able to see two games live...haha...

Well, it's Calgary tonight for the Pens. I know the lines played well and were killer on PK, but Flower needs to get his sh*t on lockdown quick. The Pens lines aren't always going to be able to bail him out like they did in Vancouver. I get that goalies let pucks in. I get that sometimes some easy ones sneak in there also. But Flower left two really, really ugly ones in and can't afford to do that anymore. He's called an elite goalie, he's paid like an elite goalie, he needs to act like one all season long...not just from January on after Johnson's practically dead from all of the constant starts because of Flowers inconsistency from September/October all the way through December.

SHUTOUT!
Bryz stopping all twenty shots, looked like he barely saw anything towards the end. Matt Read gets his NHL first, Groo just continues to be a monster...And my god, Is Simmonds ever a beast! He's one guy that I've always wanted to see in the orange and black, and boy is he born to wear it. He's just such a worker out there. First shutout since April of 2010...damn.

Normally I don't get too excited over shutouts, but the Fly-boys haven't had a shutout since the Eastern Conference finals two seasons ago. So I'm pretty pumped.
Excellent playing all around. Simmonds was all over that puck, not to mention an assist away from a Howe hat trick. Obviously next game will be another big test for the new Flyers. Considering how badly the Canucks destroyed the Flyers last time, I can't be too confident. But I'm glad to see them going up against some of the tough teams right at the start.

Damn, was it great to see them put up a shutout again. This new roster is impressing me more and more each game. Jagr is really clicking with Giroux and Simmonds is becoming an easy fan favorite, with how well he fits with this team. I'll be there Wednesday and I expect the Wells Fargo Center to be ROCKIN'! Canucks were damn good last season, but this is a damn good looking Flyers.

Garon played great, his stats don't say that but he did. Offense look drained from the night before, as did the defense. Oh well, we'll get rest for the Washington game.

Red Wings win again 3-0 against Colorado. We seem to ruin ceremonies in opposing teams buildings Either way, we won. Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Franzen were all great and it looked likethey are truely into season mode. Canucks thursday, gonna get me my Datsyuk bobblehead

Canucks are facing some really good teams to start the season. Could be a trademarked slow start for the Nucks. We'll see.
