Are there any diehards out there for the WWF Bone Crunching Action figure line? Reason why I ask is because I want those of us who are to come together and start up an unofficial official thread where anything relative to the line can be discussed. There have been posts made before where people share all of their thoughts, memories, and questions about the BCA figures, but they just as soon die out and fade into obscurity on the boards. I want anyone who even has the slightest understanding of what BCA stands for to share their opinions and hopefully contribute to this thread something that others were not aware of before entering. If you have a favorite or least favorite figure/series/accessory/ring/whathaveyou or general question about any of the aforementioned things, let them be known and maybe this could turn out to be a fun thread. I just feel like there isn't enough mention of these earlier Jakks figures (granted, most collectors have moved on, but there has to be some interest remaining, right?) and I have to admit that I'm a bit envious of the Hasbro/LJN WWF collectors on the Other Brands board for their dedication to unearthing as much as possible about their favorite line.

I'm following your blog since some time and it really brings back cool memories. Though I only have two or three BCA figures any more (and I gave it to my son to play with it).

I will be following your blog. I am a huge fan of the BCA series some of my best memories of playing with my wrestling figures was in the BCA days.
I still remember going into TRU and seeing the "bad boys" series. I only had enough for two. I bought Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
I still have most of my BCA figures packed up in storage.

I read your blog, too. Good stuff.
BCAs were so much fun to collect/play with. They were super affordable for a kid on an allowance ($5 a figure). One of the best parts about being a kid during this time was that the internet wasn't as prominent as it was today, so while you'd miss out on some figures, you'd also be totally surprised to walk in a store and find "the motherload" of stuff you never knew existed.
I remember being in I think it was 3rd grade. My buddy at the time found the first Tag Teams set (predating 2 Tuff). The following morning in school, he brought the back of the carding in showing the full set (Headbangers, LOD, Blackjacks, Godwinns)...I think I got absolutely no school work done that day, haha.

A very odd memory of mine is bringing the Ringside Collection Series 1 Vince McMahon (from his days as a commentator) to school one day and pointing out to friends that it looked like he had a spider in the crotch of his pants lol. I was also much younger then and didn't start checking the Internet for figure news/online stores until 1999, most likely. I remember when my mother found the new Superstars Series 7 figures (X-Pac, Val Venis) at TRU and the many trips I took to this local collectors shop (Planet Wrestling, it was called) where they received new shipments around the time RSC would (or before most retailers). Of course, I ended up spending $15 for Droz's debut figure one day, but it seemed worth it at the time lol. Now, I've been rebuilding my collection since July '07 and have had just as much fun finding deals on them as I did when I bought them in stores ten years ago. It could be because of the nostalgia factor that I look back on the Attitude Era and WWF merchandise as something special, but no line of figures ever entertained me as much as these (save for the Hasbro WWF/Galoob WCW figures in the early 90s). I've contemplated starting up a figure fed for old times sake, but my problem now is in reducing the number of guys on a roster since I have far more than I could possibly need. So many repaints to sift through, but I'm glad I bought each one when I did. Matter of fact, I just received two others in the mail yesterday - Signature Series 2 HBK and DTA Tour Series 1 Kane, along with the newer BCA style Jericho from Bone Crunching Superstars Series 1 and A-Train's RA3 figure. But, back to the topic at hand, I've added plenty of pics of BCA back cardings at this link.

i loved the bcas as a kid and have contemplated starting to collect again but seeing as i have no extra room (taken up by mattel and classic superstars). Though i do have the bret/owen, diesel/razor ramon sets and a moc series 1 diesel and hbk(first figures i bought when i started collecting) for the nastolgia purpose.

Sorry but i just thought i would share these memories:
My favorite BCA was the superstars series 3 Mankind (i don't know why). I found it when i was going thru some boxes and it looks like it went thru a war.
I remember spending almost the whole day playing with my bca figures. During school i would sit and write out my storylines for the next week. While i was suppost to be reading.
I also remember getting the New Age Outlaws 2 tuff 2 pack for my birthday one year. I was so excited.

I love the BCA line. I used to play with those guys constantly. Its funny looking at how the TTL and RA figures have more movable parts, but the BCA line was always more playable to me.
I remember being so disappointed when Jakks switched to TTL. I hated the TTL figures, because slowly they phased out the BCA's. Of course they tried to bring back BCA later on, but the new version kinda sucked.
I sold a bunch of mine on ebay last year (wish i hadn't, now that I look back) but I did hold onto some of them.

I was so excited. lol That's the whole point of the thread; I want everyone to share their stories, including the random ones. Without a doubt, the 2 Tuff Series 2 NAO figures were some of my most wanted after I had heard (or maybe assumed since they were so popular) that they would be released in wrestling attire for that assortment. Billy Gunn definitely had the most colorful attires (an Ultimate Warrior of his time), but Road Dogg had plenty, too, except Jakks never could get the tattoos/detail combo down right. My favorites to use on a general basis would be the Fully Loaded Series 1 figures, for some reason. I'll definitely take new loose pics if it would be helpful for the thread; it's been a while since I took those and, although I still have plenty left to buy before I'm finished collecting, I guess I could always share what I do have. I don't think most casual collectors realize how many BCA figures there were in less than five years of production.

I used to have a swing set in my backyard with a seesaw attached and, when I was bored, I would place a few of my BCA figures in the middle of the opposing seats for a ride to see who could last the longest lol.
Sadly, the Superstars Series 3 Mankind lost an arm and had to be replaced.
I think it was motion sickness that really killed him.
I also had a Superstars Series 2 Taker (the one that would glow in the dark) and, man, that thing was butchered beyond belief. He had some deep gashes in his forehead from many a hardcore battle...but he was missing both of his hands, so I'm sure those cuts were the least of his worries. He was a perennial jobber because of his obscenely loose torso and joints.
Speaking of 'Taker, another one that I had later on of him defeated Gangrel (really just the STOMP Series 1 Pillman since Gangrel hadn't been released yet) in a Buried Alive match set in my backyard. Gangrel/Pillman was buried in a storage area filled with dirt under my deck and, when I tried to dig him up later that day (or maybe it was the day after), I couldn't find him.
And I never did.
I still wonder if he's made company with some dead hamsters.

Yeah, the Billy that was exclusive to the Fully Loaded 4-pack.
I remember having a dream as a kid that my grandmother bought me all of these figures including a Billy Gunn in white trunks that I hadn't seen before. Turns out, Jakks ends up making one in the Grudge Match 2-pack with Ken Shamrock (a Superstars Series 8 re-release) a short time later.
I never traded figures with friends, but we would get together and have huge WCW World War-esque battle royals with our figures and Monster Rings.
And, who can forget, upside-down matches on those old Monster Rings lol.

My fondest BCA memories...
The first BIG spree I had...the Attitude Ring w/cage, the WMXIV box set (Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold, Undertaker, HHH), I bought the WMXIV Rocky Maivia (my favorite wrestler at the time, even thought the attire was completely inaccurate) and Slammers 1 Bret Hart. That led to some EPIC battles, haha!
The second big spree I went on was when Superstars 7 came out. I bought Undertaker, X-Pac, Edge, and Val Venis. Seeing these figures now brings back great memories of the Attitude era!
I also made my own prototype "Real Scale Ring," sort of...I took the Monster Ring, added the Attitude Ring turnbuckles and ropes, and made a bigger, more accurately-scaled ring. The cool thing was, the Attitude Cage still fit on it!

Man this takes me back, I don't know what is was about these figures, but going into a shop looking for them as a 9 year old and finding a load of figures you never knew were out was the best thing in the world. I first got into these since my mum told my aunt how much i had gotten into wrestling (good old attitude era - gotta love it) and she bought me superstars series 7 Stone Cold and Undertaker, and that got me hooked. I bought the monster ring in the same month and the 2 had some epic battles with Taker losing a few of his fingers. I used the ropes as catapaults to spring the 2 figures into collisions in midair, as I saw the catapaults that came with the attitude ring, and decided to create my own version. When the ttl's first came out i didnt like them, but i got converted to them lol. The next few figures I got were Ken shamrock, Goldust, Big Bossman, Mankind, Kane, Road Dogg, Val Venis, Billy Gunn Triple H & Big Show - man I had fun with them, still got them all too. Me and my friend also used to swap figures for a couple of weeks

My favorite Billy Gunn figure was the Fully Loaded series. I also like the signature series 2 Billy Gunn figure.
I remember there was a grudge match two pack of Al Snow vs the Road Dogg. I used that Al Snow figure in alot of Hardcore Matches.
One year for christmas i got the 3 faces of foley 3 pack. I was so excited because i wanted that Cactus Jack.
I remember seeing an ad in the local sale paper that showed the slammer series 2 set. I was so excited because i wanted the Kane and Dude Love. My dad took me to Meijers but they diden't have anyone from that set. When we got home he called all the Meijers and finally found them. We drove out there and i bought both Kane's they had and one of there Dude Love's. I still have one of those Kane's MOC.
I remember the biggest show i played with my wrestling figures was 3 hours and 30 mins. I had a mix of BCA,Toybiz and the orginal ECW figures. The longest fued i had was 7 months. It was between Bret Hart and Shane Douglas.
I am still picking up BCA figures here and there from Flea Markets. I found a ringside sable figure MOC at a Flea Market for $1.00 .I wish i had enough room to collect all the BCA figures.

Had a lot of great memories playing with BCA growing up. I started collecting them around Superstars Series 7. I remember the first time I saw the Hardcore Holly (with wooden table) and Godfather protos on the back of carding. I brought it to school to show my friends. I had some epic hardcore matches with all the weapons and accessories. There were plenty. I liked to have just one side of the cage up during the match. Also, when playing with the figures if there was a big spot sometimes I would set it up again and do it in slow-motion, like a replay.

Here is a short questionnaire which might get the brain working if you're having trouble remember certain things about the line. 1. Favorite Superstars Series figure? 2. Favorite 2 Tuff Series 2-pack (or Grudge Match/Tag Team Series, if you prefer)? 3. Favorite Slammers Series figure? 4. Favorite Signature Series figure? 5. Favorite S.T.O.M.P. Series figure? 6. Favorite Boxed Set (Single figure with accessories, 3 or 4-pack)? 7. Favorite debut BCA figure? 8. Favorite BCA Staff figure (Manager, Announcer, etc)? 9. Favorite BCA-era wrestling ring? 10. Favorite BCA-era accessory for figures (what they wore)? 11. Favorite BCA-era weapon for figures (what they fight with)? 12. The one debut BCA figure you wish Jakks had made? 13. The one repainted BCA figure you wish Jakks had made? 14. Figures (list one or as many as you can remember) that you always wanted but could never find? 15. Did you like the stands that came with the BCA figures or would you have rather had actual accessories pertaining to the wrestler? 16. Favorite figure for playing purposes? 17. Favorite BCA carding? 18. Favorite BCA exclusive figure (can be individual or in a boxed set)? 19. If Jakks had continued with either non-BCA line, Legends or Ripped and Ruthless, which would you have wanted? 20. Favorite all-around aspect of the BCA line (playability, likenesses, collectability, etc)? And, if you're up for it, include a "Least Favorite" answer or comment to each question. For instance, if you didn't like any figures from a particular series or if you never had trouble finding the figures you wanted, say so. I'll update with mine later on.
