I dont remember Bradshaw as a jobber. I remember him as an ass kicker. The gimmick did come out of nowhere though (for fans at least) and has to be one of the biggest character transformations for an established superstar ever. If Jinder can do what JBL did then ok, but Im skeptical and do not want him to hold it for a year...

To be fair the APA didn't really do much during their second stint and the transition went at supersonic speed. One week Faarooq gets fired and then the following week Bradshaw randomly attacks Eddie. It was much faster than Jinders push.

They still did a second PPV with JBL challenging Eddie before he won, and he won in a "really really got lucky" / angle screwjob. Jinder won with a small distraction, Jinders rise from the mediocre seems like the quickest ever.

I feel like Sheamus' first win and JBL's were equally as shocking. I honestly thought both would be fodder. first....they got me. second, Sheamus' was shocking, yes...but he actually was built up over months and had a decent win-loss record JBL also had a US title reign, and was on the right track towards the main event Jinder literally had won about 4 matches this calendar year before last night, and 3 of them were in the last few weeks. JBL's US title reign was after his WWE title reign. He went from velocity drinking beer to Champion rich guy pretty fast.

I'm getting Jack Swagger vibes from this championship run already. Give it a few months, he'll drop the belt, and fall back to the mid-card.

Wouldn't it be a swerve if they had him drop it tonight?

I am so happy Jinder won. It's great to see someone unexpected win and for them to have real heel heat. As others have mentioned, Jinder and the Miz are the only old school heels in the WWE. It's great to see both of them winning like they did in the old days, by being cheating chickenpoops. And frankly, it's great to see someone who is non-white holding the title, even if he has to play the stereotypical evil foreigner to do it. (Also, I can't stand Orton so hopefully he retires.)
I don't care about the performance enhancers at all. They are pretty safe now when taken appropriately and what do you think the Rock and other actors are doing? HGH and other enhancers have kept old actors young and ripped for years now.

To be honest, while it may devalue the WWE Championship somewhat, I'm all for this Jinder Mahal WWE Championship run. If you're a new watcher tuning in for the first time, or even following Wrestlemania, you've little to know about Jinder's jobbing history and placement on the roster, and his gimmick and look is great. Sure, it's comedy for most of us that are fully aware of him, and even somewhat disbelief, but why not go with it, it's going to be more entertaining than stale Orton as Champion. He's a legitimate old school heel. He's obviously a heel to new viewers, but even the smart fans will find him a heel as it's not AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn etc holding the gold. It almost feels like a brand new character to the roster, it's refreshing, and there's a lot of fun things they could do with his gimmick. I'd be surprised if it went past Summerslam though, where Mr. America John Cena will most likely topple the Maharajah.

HGH and other enhancers have kept old actors young and ripped for years now. I dont care either, even professional athletes, if everyone is allowed to use them. As it stands however it is not allowed for everyone to use them. Part timers are exempt from wellness testing (Brock, HHH, Rock, hell probably even big show). They dont test like USADA does for estrogen blockers or cover ups. The problem I have is Vince has a hard on for ripped roided big guys, This dude comes back from being fired as a jobber, to hired as a jobber, to being juiced up and in the Title picture. How healthy was that for Eddie? Guys dont have to juice to be in the main event, but it helps if you do and are part of the nationality that you want a viewer demographic of... Either say its hollywood entertainment and everyone can use them, or no one can, but dont make loopholes or excuses for the protected few. Like you can be a roid monkey and be champion, but god fobid you smoked some weed with Sabu...

I like that Jinder won. I hope Randy never wins the title again. The guy needs another wwe title reign like he needs cancer. I hope AJ Styles wins it next at either Battleground or Summerslam(both will be in "Smark cities").

This is great, you can't tell me a guy like Sami Zayn or whatever would have this much people talking by winning the belt.

Only way this is acceptable is if he drops it to Nakamura tonight... Why? I hate when a guy wins a title too quickly. It leaves them nothing to chase.

If it pleases the courts, I refer you to Sgt. Slaughter at Survivor Series 1990, prior to winning the WWF championship at the 1991 Royal Rumble. He redebuted with the WWF less than 5 months prior to his title win, September 1st 1990
