I can tell you from being there, the crowd was more stunned than angry or happy.

Posted this in the Backlash thread but I'll put it here as well.
There's a story now circulating that Jinder winning was "a last minute call" and Rusev was originally booked to beat Orton at Money in the Bank.
Supposedly Rusev will be a serious contender to win Money in the Bank and win the WWE Championship according to the report.

Honestly seeing a Rusev/Jinder storyline ^ would be pretty damn cool. They'd have the history as they were a team. It'd be very interesting.

the good thing about Jinder having the title, it's like "anyone" could be legitimate contenders. if he faced Sami Zayn, you'd be like... "Are they pulling the trigger?"

I legit marked out when he won. This makes you feel as if anyone could win the belt now. As weasel said above, anyone could be a legit contender now. I hope they give him a decent reign. Maybe drop it at SummerSlam.

Nobody is mentioning his drastic transformation & his disgusting amount of body acne?? Come on...
That's a sure sign something funny is going on.
Get USADA to test him and see what happens. Lol. He'd fail just like Brock did.

He'd fail just like Brock did. Everyone with half a brain knows. We (most) just do not care because wrestling isn't a real sport.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! I just can't stop laughing after seeing Jinder Mahal win the WWE Championship. What's next? Santino Marella making a comeback to be the next WWE Champion? I know WWE's writing has been horrendously bad for the most part recently, but I honestly didn't think they were clueless enough to think Jinder ing Mahal should be the WWE Champion. It just makes the company look like a joke, to see someone go from longtime jobber to WWE Champion within a couple of months.

To me this is just a smack in the face to fans who have been watching over the years. This guy has been a jobber his whole career pretty much and now he beats Randy Orton and wins the title? Keep in mind several people don't even know who this guy is because he has been booked so awful for years, but now he is champion. I could understand if they wanted to try pushing him some by giving him a US title run to give him time to build up so prove that he can compete, but giving him the WWE championship is a matter of Hot Shot Booking just trying to get a reaction (which they used to rip WCW for doing).
This whole thing makes no sense to me and I wouldn't pay $5 to see that guy wrestle. You can't take a guy who has been a jobber for years and then just make him champion and expect for him to be a mega star. Smackdown is just such a mess now if you ask me, at least Raw had been a little better lately.

IF he wins it will be the single most shocking WWE Championship win in the history of the company. Because as far as a track record? Jinder Mahal belongs NOWHERE NEAR a top title. They are just building suspense a different way this time....him winning out of nowhere was a shock, got people talking. Then this whole India thing....it was put out by the WWE they are looking to expand...so people are just assuming. And they've done a fair job of making him look legit in the last couple weeks. In the end this is Vince McMahon doing what he does best....trolling his fanbase. It's how they do everything nowadays. You want AJ styles as world champ? here's randy orton. You want Roman Reigns out of the main event? here's him retiring the Undertaker closing out his 3rd consecutive Wrestlemania. Tomorrow is no different....Jinder Mahal is not gonna be added to the list of former WWE Champions.....at least not yet. I feel like Sheamus' first win and JBL's were equally as shocking. I honestly thought both would be fodder. first....they got me. second, Sheamus' was shocking, yes...but he actually was built up over months and had a decent win-loss record JBL also had a US title reign, and was on the right track towards the main event Jinder literally had won about 4 matches this calendar year before last night, and 3 of them were in the last few weeks.

I'm all for him being WWE champion cuz gives us something new, he could end being the next JBL of Smackdown. Also for those hating cuz he was a jobber look at back at JBL dude was taking loses when he was in APA, reinvented himself as JBL and then almost immediately challenge Eddie for the WWE title.

I'm pretty sure JBL only had a run as champion in the Hardcore Division when he had the simple Texan gimmick. Then he had some injuries, disappeared, and came out of nowhere with the new rich guy gimmick and won the title. He held the US title afterwards. Your point still stands on the odd ascension of Jinder though. He was literally a hopeless jobber all the way up until he became #1 contender. It's an incredibly confusing route they went with him. I'm not mad at all at Jinder winning to be honest. It is what it is, the show goes on. It'll all sort itself out in a couple of months if Jinder doesn't suddenly blossom into something endearing. I can understand peoples frustration though, when you think about some long since retired guys who never did, or current stars who likely never will, get this completely random opportunity that was thrust upon Jinder.
