Growing up Gunn was one of my favorite wrestlers. Does anyone else think he's still got it? Sure he looks a little older, but he still has a lot of ring ability and presence and could benefit younger superstars but putting them over and get a few wins here and there. I'm not saying the outlaws, I'm saying Gunn just as a singles competitor. I know he's helping run things at nxt, but would anyone else like to see him back full time for a little bit?

I could see him doing a singles match there or here to further a story line. But I really think the outlaws could do a small run in the tag division still.

I think without the Outlaws appeal for him seems to dwindle a bit, I say keep him with RD if they ever bring him back properly.

I've been waiting for The Outlaws to work a small program since Raw 1000. I know they've worked a match here and a match there, but I just want to see them flat out work a feud from Rumble or EC to Mania. BG is my favorite member of the Outlaws, by far, but I don't see any reason why the ideal situation wouldn't be using both of them as a team. My favorite tag team in WWE history, and I'm in favor of WWE getting them on TV in any capacity.

I'd love him to have a match at WM30, he's still in great shape and is still awesome in the ring. He's one of my all time favorites... vastly, vastly under rated.
He just needs to dye the grey bits around the sides of his hair, they make him look a lot balder than he is.

Billy Gunn is ok and still looks good.
I'd be open to him and/or Road Dogg having an on-air program with another tag team.

He is ok for a very short run or a one off match here and there. But he is old, and to be honest, Billy couldn't even get over by himself when he was in his prime. The only interest I have in Billy Gunn at all is in the occassional Outlaws appearance, which we get now, and I am fine with exactly that.

Billy was extremely over in 99, it's well established that HHH used his backstage pull to get Billy's push halted.

The crowd popped for anyone to beat him during that time. They tried to push Billy several times as a singles wrestler and it never worked. The only time he got over was in a tag team, which is not really a bad thing. I wish they would learn that with a lot of current guys.

He was indeed MORE over when he was with Road Dogg, but Road Dogg was over too. Billy was unfortunately one of the very first people that Triple H buried when he got in a top spot. I recommend seeing the NAO 1st RF shoot.

I recommend seeing the NAO 1st RF shoot. I generally don't watch shoot videos for a few reasons. 1. I don't feel they are worth paying for and I don't want to bother hunting them down illegally. 2. They are usually done when someone is still bitter or upset about the circumstances of their dismissal or at how their career turned out. They get asked questions that they know will generate controversial answers and that will sell videos. 3. I like to keep most of my interest in wrestling geared towards the characters and the show itself. I find it is more enjoyable that way rather than trying to catch up on all of the behind the scenes drama and politics. Did HHH bury him? Maybe. Who knows. But he had plenty of chances to get over as a singles competitor and never really got the fans interest. The match against Guerrero didn't really show me anything different. Seemed like a pretty typical reaction for most mid card matches in that time period. I don't really have anything against Billy, he was entertaining enough but as a singles wrestler he was pretty lame. Some guys can't get over on their own, and there is no shame in that really.

Billy was a midcarder, especially during the Attitude Era, plain and simple. If he had "IT" he would have been pushed to the main event. Billy had great athletic ability and in-ring skills, but he was bad on the mic and simply didn't stand out like guys like Austin, Rock, HHH, Taker, etc... did during that time. If Billy was in his prime today I could see him definatly being a top player. But during a time when the WWF had 2 legit mainstream starsin Austin and Rock, and plenty of other top guys like Taker, Mankind, HHH, Kane, etc... he was never going to get to the top. Injuries didn't help him either.
Case in point was his feud w/ Rocky in '99. He got a huge push by winning the KOTR, and was then thrown into a big time feud w/ Rock. Rocky however completely destroyed him in every promos they did. Billy stood no chance on the mic against Rocky and his weaknesses really shined. That's why he went right back to teaming with Road Dogg after SummerSlam.
Did they push him right? No, I don't think so. I'd have had him continue to feud w/ Road Dogg and X-Pac through SummerSlame (and Kane who was with Pac too). Following that put him in the 6-Pack Challenge instead of Bulldog which would have led to a feud with Mankind. A slower push would have helped but I doubt he would have ever been a top player during that time.

I would love to see The Outlaws work a short program with a team. Maybe have a short tag title run for nostalgia sake.
However I have no interest in seeing Billy do his thing on his own.

Outlaws together, or not at all. Yeah, this is how I look at it too. Billy is great in ring, but he has the personality of cheese. He needs Road Dogg as his mouth piece. I would love to see the Outlaws return to the roster as regulars or semi-regulars, however.

I would have no issues if Road Dogg & Billy Gunn had a match at Mania. Because I for one think this years Mania should have a nostalgia feel to it. Billy going it alone... not so much.
I always loved Billy Gunn. But as Cordless said Rock made Billy look bad in every encounter. And Billy never recovered from that. Any other era & Billy may have been huge.
I will say I always thought Billy out shined Road Dogg greatly. But then again if you ask me Chuck Palumbo also out shined Road Dogg.
