One game is too early, but the Sox look better at least. They have likeable players finally. KEEP JBJ It'd be kind of hard to look worse than last year.

Freddie Freeman starting out with a nice dinger. This Braves team is going to be fun to watch this year.

I would rather see the Red Sox develop stars this way than give out intellectually- disabled contracts a la Carl Crawford

Well plain and simple they could chip away, but couldn't stop the bleeding. Hamels could barely locate tonight, and of course the Braves are just the Braves. Utley looked pretty damn good though.

Not a terrible game for the Phils. Hamels was all over the place. Not sure what that was about. I'd chalk it up to opening day jitters, but this is a guy who was WS MVP so he's used to the really big stage. He can be streaky at times though. Who knows. In any case if he turned in a QS, the Phils win that game, but he obviously didn't. Was impressed by the offense and the way they just kept chipping away. We'll see if they can keep it up all year long. Utley looked pretty damn good. Gotta love Chad Durbin and his ERA of infinity. Besides him, the 'pen only gave up only 1 hit over three innings to a very good Braves lineup so they at least look promising.

Even in a loss I thought the Phils looked good last night, except for Hamels and Durbin obviously. If Utley can stay healthy then this team will be much better than people are expecting them to be imo. Putting up 5 runs gives me hope that this lineup can actually be productive.

SO weird seeing the Braves as an offensive team with suspect pitching. It's a welcome change I think. Going to have to score a lot of runs to win this year. Exciting game last night though. And a really good crowd for a change.

I do not know if this will impact his probability or decision to stay or leave the Yankees as a free Agent....but Robinson Cano has fired Scott Boras.

That can only be good news. Any time any team doesn't have to deal with Boras, it's a good thing.

And a really good crowd for a change. It's weird to me seeing a Phillies team with a questionable outfield. For so many years that was a non-issue for them. That Braves lineup has the ability to hang a lot of runs on the board. Whether they can do it at a rate that keeps up with their pitching is another question, but they'll score a crap ton of runs.

I do not know if this will impact his probability or decision to stay or leave the Yankees as a free Agent....but Robinson Cano has fired Scott Boras. And hired Jay-Z lol. He's signed with Roc Nation Sports, sporting arm of Roc Nation, through a business partnership with CAA. Cano has been announced as the first sports client. As TRW said, any time a team does NOT have to deal with Boras, it's a good time. Boras is the Drew Rosenhaus of MLB.

I think Cano's firing of Boras increases the possibility he stays with the Yankees. Boras usually has his clients wait it out for more money and to test free agency, and Cano not agreeing with that seems like a possible cause for the decision.

The Yankees are going to back up the Brinks truck for Cano anyway. No reason why they wouldn't. If they don't, they're fools.

I think I hate Jay-Z just as much as I hate Boras.....but at least Jay-Z is a Yankees fan and probably isn't going to try and get him to sign elsewhere.
