WWE SmackDown! - Friday 25th January 2008 - Charlottesville, VA Dark Match: Vladimir Kozlov def. Funaki (2:37) after the Shoulderbreaker.A replay from last Friday night on SmackDown! aired, as it reviewed Pick Your Poison night for Edge and Rey Mysterio, nine days shy of their Royal Rumble encounter for the World Heavyweight Championship. Rey Mysterio was paired off to face Chavo Guerrero from La Familia, whom he defeated after a lengthy battle, but Edge was ordered to face his former rival, Batista. After a hard hitting match with interference from Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, Rey Mysterio managed to cost Edge his match against Batista! But this all came back up in Rey's face this past Monday night on RAW, as it was a six man tag team match with Rey teaming up with CM Punk and Jeff Hardy to face Edge, Big Daddy V and Randy Orton, and during the match Edge took Rey out of the ring and scoop slammed him knee first on the steel steps, perhaps making the knee injury even worse! Can Rey make it to Sunday? The opening video for SmackDown! aired, as we cut to the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia for the final Friday Night SmackDown! before the Royal Rumble, Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman welcoming us to the show and hyping up the show, where tonight Edge and Chavo Guerrero will team up to take on Rey Mysterio and the "Animal" Batista in the main event! Plus, Finlay gets another WWE United States Championship match with MVP, and if MVP gets himself disqualified, he will be stripped of the title.
The theme of Edge hit to kick off SmackDown! to loud boos, as the World Heavyweight Champion made his way out to the arena, the "Rated R Superstar" accompanied by Chavo Guerrero, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins before suddenly pausing and pointing back at the entranceway, where a standing and smiling Vickie Guerrero stood, the SmackDown! General Manager making her way down to the ring, smiles all around to louder boos from the Virginian crowd. Edge got into the ring and demanded respect from the idiots in Charlottesville for the World Heavyweight Champion, the SmackDown! GM and La Familia. This raised louder boos as Edge talked about how today is a great day for SmackDown!, because it marks the end of the line for the Spanish flea, Rey Mysterio. He talked about how Vickie was standing as well, and together they can drive SmackDown! into a dominant show to showcase La Familia! Vickie took the microphone and revealed that she had been looking forward to this for a long, long time, because Mysterio annoyed her to no end, even when he was best friend with her husband! Edge told Vickie to worry no longer, because this Spanish flea was going to get squatted.
However, the drowning of the crowd's boos were then redirected to the rampway as the theme of Rey Mysterio hit to an electric reaction from the fans in Charlottesville. Out limped the number one contender, as Rey Mysterio had a noticable knee brace on, Mysterio then commenting on how Edge may have worsened things, but he hopes that he's happy. Rey talks about how he knows Edge will be like a hunter on his prey but he needs to realize one thing; Rey is still standing, and his heart is bigger than any bone in his body, because this Sunday, he'd be putting it to the test when he pulls out all of his power to take the World Heavyweight Championship from around the waist of Edge! Chavo Guerrero then took the microphone as he asked Rey why he was so set on doing something he didn't need to impress anybody with! Chavo talked about how Rey had it all already, but he needs to say 'uncle', because otherwise Edge would break his damn knee beyond repair. Batista's theme hit as the "Animal" then came out to a ruckus reaction from the fans, Batista getting involved with this just before their tag team match with Edge and Chavo. Batista asked if La Familia had a problem with Rey, because if he's honest he didn't feel like it was necessary to bully a man that managed to beat Edge on more than one occasion! Batista told Edge that he still had business with him for stealing what was rightfully his, and Chavo Guerrero, if he got in the "Animal"s way, he'd be going down too! The fans cheered, as Batista grinned and left with Rey, tag team action coming up later tonight.

We went to a replay of last week on SmackDown!, as it was Chuck Palumbo and Jamie Noble celebrating their previous victory over Deuce 'N' Domino when suddenly they were jumped by three men, Drew McIntyre, Dave Taylor and DH Smith all Brits dominating the oddball combination of Palumbo and Noble.
We then cut to the ring to boos, as DH Smith, Dave Taylor and Drew McIntyre stood in the centre of the ring, the three men from the United Kingdom standing silently. Drew McIntyre welcomed everybody to what was rightfully theirs. As for years they have been stereotyped with various gimmicks that were felt to be appropriate to the fans. Well, the fans ate it up, and they hated every damn moment of it! DH Smith talked about his father, the British Bulldog and how he was a proud man, but he hated the damn cape and loveable, gentle Brit character he was handed! He was much better than that, and the three men have formed here today to bring down the entire roster. Just so they can get through to WWE management, and make them respect the United Kingdom!
1) Dave Taylor and DH Smith (w/Drew McIntyre) def. Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore @ 4:59 This was an interesting match to kick off SmackDown! with, as this trio from the United Kingdom were not here to mess around with the wild antics of the daredevil Shannon Moore, and the Asian Redneck, Jimmy Wang Yang. Wang Yang fired blows to the British veteran, Dave Taylor mat wrestling Wang Yang and focusing on the waistlock takedowns, some great chain wrestling taking place until DH Smith got the tag, and Smith immediately took Wang Yang's head off with a clothesline! Smith worked over Wang Yang, an abdominal stretch applied, but finally Jimmy got out, and Shannon Moore got the hot tag. Moore flew around the ring and then went up for the Moonsault, nailing Taylor but he wasn't the legal man! Smith came in and delivered the Running Powerslam before placing Taylor over him, and the UK scored the win!
The crowd booed as Dave Taylor and DH Smith celebrated their win, Drew McIntyre then entering the ring as well, delivering the Scot Drop to Jimmy Wang Yang! The three stood tall over Wang Yang and Moore before leaving.
We went to the locker room backstage where interviewer, Josh Mathews was standing by with the "Fighting Irishman" Finlay accompanied by Hornswoggle, before his match up with Montel Vontavious Porter later tonight. Mathews wanted some comments on the WWE United States Championship, as well as the Royal Rumble match in which he would be involved in in two nights. Finlay talked about how many people have held the US title, and how most of them were respected, and respected others. But what MVP doesn't have, is respect. And if it takes Finlay hours, he will torture and punish MVP until he learns respect! As for Sunday night, he'll be happy as long as he walks in with Hornswoggle, the United States Champion. Hornswoggle then jumped up and grabbed the microphone, chanting "Celtic Cross" into the microphone.

An advertisement aired, promoting the Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view this Sunday and to be presented in High Definition, from New York City, New York.
2) Jamie Noble (w/Michelle McCool) def. Kenny Dykstra (w/Victoria) @ 5:14 It was revealed during this insert promo with Michelle McCool and Jamie Noble that Jamie Noble had arranged a managerial role for Michelle to manage him in matches strictly as a friend and not anything more. Noble commented on how he liked having Chuck Palumbo as a partner, and that the United Kingdom superstars would pay for jumping them last week. Back to action, Kenny Dykstra returned properly to SmackDown! with Victoria, as Kenny tried to wear Noble down with a sleeper hold, Noble soon firing back and coming back with a Northern lights suplex almost getting the job done. It was a great showcase of back and forth high flying ability, but Noble soon caught Dykstra's crossbody attempt with a fireman's carry double knee gutbuster to secure the win!
Jamie Noble celebrated his win as Michelle McCool jumped up and down in excitement from ringside, Victoria looking furious as she got into the ring and pushed Noble, then delivering a forearm to McCool! Victoria was responded with a forearm from Michelle, causing a catfight to commence. Noble tried to pull McCool off, when suddenly Chuck Palumbo rolled down to the ring on his motorcycle, getting into the ring and clearing house, a clothesline to Dykstra and then pulling Victoria away from McCool! Palumbo helped McCool up as he commended Noble on the victory.
In the backstage area we saw Mark Henry breathing heavily, and later tonight the "World's Strongest Man" will be meeting the "Phenom" The Undertaker in a highly anticipated rematch from Unforgiven! We then saw the WWE United States Champion walking backstage, and in a few minutes, MVP will be defending his title against Finlay! Next.
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
3) Finlay (w/Hornswoggle) def. Montel Vontavious Porter by count out; MVP retains the WWE United States Championship @ 9:12 This was a pretty back and forth match to open up the second hour of Friday Night SmackDown!, a rematch from last week on SmackDown! where MVP was given the ultimatum that if he got disqualified, he'd have been stripped of his WWE United States Championship! The "Fighting Irishman" pounded away at Montel Vontavious Porter, the challenger relentless on taking the title tonight, as Hornswoggle rooted for Finlay to take home the belt tonight. MVP soon fired back, as Porter delivered a big boot to the side of Finlay's head, MVP working away at the head and neck with a DDT connecting and MVP soon went for the Playmaker, just for Finlay to flip MVP over on his front, the running clothesline connecting! Finlay then went for the Celtic Cross, but MVP slipped out of it and rolled out of the ring to loud boos! MVP saw Hornswoggle trying to chase him, but unlike last week MVP put his foot out and gave Hornswoggle a huge big boot instead of a wild goose chase! MVP then took his title and left up the aisleway, avoiding losing the title belt once again!
The crowd booed as Montel Vontavious Porter posed with his WWE United States Championship, Finlay remaining stood in the ring in disbelief, and Hornswoggle remained down and out on the floor! MVP had gotten away with it once again tonight.
We then cut to the backstage area as the "Rated R Superstar" Edge was shown to a loud chorus of boos, Edge stood next to Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, as Edge asked them if they could do him a favor tonight and take over in the main event against Rey Mysterio and Batista! The Edgeheads seemed reluctant, Ryder mentioning how he didn't think that he was ready for that, but Edge told them that as loyal Edgeheads he wants them to go out there and weaken them up. Meanwhile, Edge has other plans! The crowd booed, confusion fabricating.
A graphic aired, promoting the match coming up next, as the Undertaker goes to battle with his former rival, Mark Henry in a rematch from Unforgiven, next!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
We returned to SmackDown! as Jesse was shown in the backstage with Josh Mathews, Festus by his side for the first time ever wearing street clothes! Mathews wanted to get a few words on Festus' wellness, after being concussed three weeks ago by John Morrison and The Miz, but as Festus stared blankly into the ceiling, Jesse talked about how they're working on him, and they should be a working tandem once again soon! Jesse then asked Mathews to get a word with Festus, but as the microphone grew closer to Festus' face, he screamed and ran after Mathews! Jesse mentioned that he should have told Josh not to get too close.
4) The Undertaker def. Mark Henry (w/Matt Striker) @ 7:15 This was a rollercoaster of a match, as these two giants brought the house down from its foundations just four months prior at Unforgiven. The "World's Strongest Man" entered first and immediately went after the Undertaker as he entered the ring, Mark Henry surely going for the fast victory, but the "Phenom" managed to fight back, lefts and rights to Mark Henry, followed up with a flying lariat knocking Henry off of his feet. The "Deadman" even went after Matt Striker at ringside, as Striker continued to menace 'Taker with his manipulative tactics, Striker running away from 'Taker on all accounts until Mark jumped the "Phenom" from behind and drove him straight into the ring post. Henry continued to pound 'Taker, sending him into the ring steps and then applying a bear hug in the centre of the ring, seemingly trying to weaken 'Taker and maybe make the "Deadman" tap for the first time in his career, but Undertaker started to fire back up with the crowd's adrenaline pumping and chanting his name, the Undertaker with a sidewalk slam impressing everybody including Matt Striker! But as 'Taker delivered the Chokeslam, Big Daddy V ran down to the ring, a Samoan drop delivered to 'Taker causing the official to ring for the bell!
The crowd booed as Big Daddy V continued his assault on the "Deadman", as Undertaker remained down, Mark Henry then coming down the "Phenom" with a big splash! Matt Striker stood over them as suddenly CM Punk ran out to the ring, the "Straight Edge Superstar" trying to go at it with V just for Striker to jump Punk! Striker held Punk in place for Mark Henry to pound him a few times, before picking him up and slamming him with the World's Strongest Slam! The crowd hissed when suddenly the theme of the "Big Red Monster" hit, and Kane made his way down to the ring to a huge ovation! Kane entered the ring as V, Striker and Henry scattered, Kane setting off his pyrotechnics!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
The RAW Rebound aired, reviewing the picture with Ric Flair and William Regal, Flair wanting in the Royal Rumble match, whilst Regal denied him. The two fought later on for Flair's career and the Royal Rumble entry slot, but in the end it was Regal that ended up tapping to the Figure-Four Leglock. We then cut to the interview with Randy Orton, the methodical WWE Champion talking about his "Viper" like ways. It came round to the chaotic interpromotional tag team match, where Rey Mysterio sustained a knee injury from Edge after being scoop slammed onto the steel steps, CM Punk suffered bruised ribs from a big splash via Big Daddy V; and Jeff Hardy ate the defeat of the venomous WWE Champion.
Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman promoted this Sunday's Royal Rumble pay-per-view event, live on pay-per-view to be presented in High Definition. They hyped up the card, scheduled to feature the 30-man Royal Rumble match with a guaranteed spot for the winner in the main event of WrestleMania XXIV at stake; Edge will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Rey Mysterio; CM Punk defends the ECW World Championship to take on Big Daddy V in a Tables match, with stipulations standing that if Punk wins, V must relinquish the title belt of Punk's, whereas if V wins, Punk will not get a rematch; Chris Jericho does battle with John Bradshaw Layfield with the winner entering the Royal Rumble match; And Randy Orton will challenge Jeff Hardy for the WWE Championship, all this Sunday!
We then cut to a video package lining up Jeff Hardy's whole career in the WWE, and how he rose through the ranks to become one of RAW's top stars and the company's big dogs. The music video set Jeff up for his match with Randy Orton this Sunday for the WWE Championship, sounded to the tune of "Rooftops" by Lostprophets.
We went to the backstage area, where the Assistant General Manager, Theodore Long approached Edge in the corridor, Long asking the World Heavyweight Champion if he was ready for his match tonight. The "Rated R Superstar" informed Long that he had replaced himself with the Edgeheads tonight. Long told Edge wrong, as the match card was set in stone and thus, these fans can't wait to see Edge in the ring, preferably with his teeth knocked out! The fans cheered, as Edge laughed, telling Long that he's got other plans. Long then informed Edge that he wasn't kidding, as the main event tonight was being changed into an eight man tag team match! Edge flipped as he asked who Batista and Rey Mysterio's partners were, Long simply telling them that he'd find out in a few moments!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
5) Edge, Chavo Guerrero, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins (w/Vickie Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio, Batista, CM Punk and Kane @ 13:31 This was a chaotic main event from the get-go, as the "Straight Edge Superstar" and the "Big Red Monster were fresh off of making the save for the Undertaker against Big Daddy V and Mark Henry about twenty minutes ago. Edge and Rey Mysterio started, the opponents for Sunday's World Heavyweight Championship trading offence as Edge tried to slow Rey down with his bad knee. He eventually got the tag to the ECW World Champion though, Punk with a springboard crossbody and a step-up knee in the corner to the "Rated R Superstar", Punk following up with a running bulldog. But Edge soon got the tag to Chavo Guerrero, and the "Latino Warrior" worked over Punk's bruised ribs, Chavo with an abdominal stretch with leverage from the ring rope behind the official's back. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder continued to manipulate the ribs, a double gutbuster connecting nearly putting away the champ. But Kane then got the tag, and he came in with big boots for Chavo and Ryder, Edge and Hawkins running into a double Chokeslam! Batista came in shortly thereafter, as did Rey Mysterio and Punk! All eight men brawled in the ring before suddenly Mark Henry, Matt Striker and Big Daddy V appeared at ringside! They got in there and joined in the fight as the official called the match out.
Chaos ensued more as the eleven men fought it out with whomever was nearby, Vickie Guerrero frightened at ringside! But in came Tommy Dreamer and Balls Mahoney from ECW, saving Punk from V and Henry! ECW entered the fray as more and more guys from the locker room of ECW and SmackDown! all brawled in the centre of the ring! Around thirty guys brawled in the ring with each other, as the Great Khali stood taller than everyone, the majority of the SmackDown! and ECW locker room going at it as SmackDown! went off the air. Right, time for SmackDown. I look forward to seeing when you bring in Vladimir Kozlov if he's competing in Dark Matches already. I loved his original Russian monster gimmick as opposed to the joke that he became. Sounds like a good Main Event, and I look forward to seeing the MVP/Finlay rematch, but I get the feeling MVP will get counted out or something. A good way to build the Main Event, and of course this Sunday's World Heavyweight Championship Match. I love the British Invasion and a pretty obvious victory for them against Shannon Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang. A good victory for Jamie Noble, there is obviously something brewing between him and Chuck Palumbo. As I predicted, MVP retains the belt via a countout loss. I expect a final match to take place where MVP loses the title whatever the case unless he win the match, but I still see him retaining even when that comes. Funny segment with Jesse and Festus, I miss them both. The Undertaker defeating Mark Henry via disqualification makes sense and then the subsequent saves from CM Punk and Kane. I do like how the Main Event was changed, but not how it ended. Would have rather seen a face victory than another match end like that. You had three matches in a row without proper endings, just doesn't seem right. Either way, the finishing brawl was necessary to build for the Royal Rumble. I liked the whole show besides the one thing, the fact that there were three unfinished matches in a row, that's all.

WRESTLING NEWS: THE MAIN SCOOP
BOBBY LASHLEY LEAVING THE WWE? Bobby Lashley was doing a radio interview yesterday. But when asked about his current status with the WWE, he commented: "Circumstances which are out of my control left me no decision but to leave the WWE. I can't go into details of this now, but like I said before, sometimes people will hate you personally to try to destroy you, which has happened here. Evil has prevailed." So it appears as though Lashley has officially parted ways with the company.
JOHN CENA: "SIX TO TWELVE MONTHS" John Cena is currently on a media tour of Europe to promote the WWE. As part of it, he was spotted in Italy by TMZ, and has appeared on the UK's Sky Sports News to conduct an interview. Whilst being asked about his future in the WWE, he commented: "I'm happy and healthy. Its just the doctor in the company is conservative. I'm also involved in a cinema project. I'm filming a new movie in two weeks which is going to last for around five months." Cena then followed up: ""I don't want to say 'never say never' but it looks to be about the six to twelve months that they thought, so we'll see."
WWE SIGNS NEW PERSONALITY Former football player for the Chicago Bears, football announcer and co-host for the American Gladiator, Mike Adamle was signed recently by the WWE. Apparently Adamle is eager to work, and will be making his first on-screen appearance shortly.
A STORYLINE DROPPED Paul Burchill and Katie Lea Burchill appeared in a backstage segment on RAW to test the waters for a new storyline to bring up the Burchills onto WWE television. The angle consisted of Paul and Katie Lea being brother and sister, and them both having sexual tension between them, almost like the film 'Cruel Intentions'. But apparently higher ups weren't fond of the risque scenario, and both stars' gimmicks have been dropped.

Edge opening the show is good and it was a nice promo by him making the analogy squashing the flea was good. I don't know if he'd outright come and say Smackdown was being run for the benefit of La Familia, but otherwise nice promo capturing the essence of Edge. Rey Mysterio coming down was good as was the interactions of the group to set up tonights main event. Opening match was fine, I'm really enjoying the British pairing and think it's the best way to use three guys I don't really care for and I actually hope to see them get a tag push. Them going over is the right move as is Drew McIntyre laying an extra touch post match. The Finlay promo was both good and bad, I loved how he targeted MVP about respect, I don't like how he just ignored the part about The Royal Rumble in favour of The US Title stuff. That is the major problem I've had with these shows leading into the rumble in that you've treated it as just another match rather than being as important as it is for the most part, people should be pumped to compete in the Rumble and there should be more hype for the match. Jamie Noble/Dykstra was fine and the post match stuff continued The Noble/Palumbo stuff, I wouldn't mind a Dykstra push down the line. Finlay/MVP was a great way to continue the rivalry making MVP seem cowardly and further proving Finlay's point about respect, good stuff and am really enjoying this feud. Edge/Ryder/Hawkins segment was fine, wonder what Edge's plan is. Jesse/Festus segment was weird, interesting to see what direction you take Festus in and hopefully you make him into a monster. The Undertaker/Mark Henry match was fine, but again two guys in the rumble match and two legitimate threats and no mention of it? The CM Punk/Big Daddy V stuff after the match was good though. Main Event was good, an injured Punk seemed a bit out of place, but Kane was a smart logical choice. Pier six brawls are always fun and the locker room emptying out was a nice end to the show, could've served as a little teaser for the Rumble match.
I know I've harped on it a lot, but the lack of Rumble match build and I am sorry for seemingly fixating on that but it was such a glaring omission for me and it was most evident in this show. The build towards the Edge/Rey match was great as was the continuation of the Finlay/MVP stuff, but I think Batista or Chavo talking about how they were going to win the match, Striker saying no one could toss Henry, a by the numbers video package, anything from anyone could've made this a really good show, as it was it was a well written and booked show in it's own right and I do look forward to the Rumble, keep it up.

I thought the opening promo was effective as it promoted Rey/Edge well and the main event later on. I'm really into the United Kingdom faction. For some reason I don't see Finlay winning the championship tonight. I figured he wouldn't, but I'm thinking that they may meet at No Way Out, if you look to drag it out. Hopefully MVP gets a push and I wouldn't mind having him drop the title to Finlay before WrestleMania. The DQ finish isn't surprising for the Taker/Henry match. I see a Kane/Taker vs. Henry/V match in the making. Honestly, that match would probably be tough to watch. Typical big time chaos finish to the main event to build up Rumble and whatnot. I was kind of disappointed that only two matches had a clean finish, and they were two pointless matches, really. Oh well, I'll be checking out the Rumble.

| WWE Royal Rumble: Sunday 27th January 2008 |

New York City, New York - Madison Square Garden

Dark Match: Kane def. Carlito @ 6:52 with the ChokeslamThe opening video package for the 2008 Royal Rumble aired, as the narrator discussed the prestige of the Royal Rumble event, and it begins the Road to WrestleMania, only one man can emerge as the winner of a 30 man battle royale known as the Royal Rumble match. It laid down boundaries before switching to others (CM Punk vs Big Daddy V) fight for the possession of gold, meanwhile some (John Bradshaw Layfield vs Chris Jericho) fight for a place in the illustrious battle royale and respect. Others (Randy Orton vs Jeff Hardy), fight to survive in a sink or swim situation. And others to survive mortality (Edge vs Rey Mysterio). Tonight so much is on the line, as the rocky War to WrestleMania XXIV begins! The opening graphic for the 2008 edition of the Royal Rumble aired, whilst "Stand Up For Rock 'N' Roll" by Airbourne played, and we cut to the live Madison Square Garden for the twenty-first annual tradition, the Royal Rumble! Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler welcomed us to the first step in the War to WrestleMania XXIV before running down RAW's side of action tonight on pay-per-view, also noting that this show was their first in High-Definition. 1) A SLOT IN THE ROYAL RUMBLE ON THE LINE Chris Jericho vs John Bradshaw Layfield |

This feud had started last month at Armageddon, where Chris Jericho was in the middle of his WWE Championship match with Randy Orton, almost en route to winning when Orton came out of nowhere and sent Y2J into the SmackDown! color commentator, John Bradshaw Layfield. This sparked a fire in JBL's eyes to return to the ring, costing Jericho his match with Orton and continuing to brutalize the Canadian. This match was electric as Madison Square Garden were loving Jericho in his New York Rangers hockey jersey, to pay homage to his father, who played for the hometown Rangers many years ago. Chris Jericho and John Bradshaw Layfield started their brawl in the ring, where JBL won the fist fight, sending Chris Jericho out of the ring. Y2J and JBL proceeded to brawl at ringside, where Jericho sent Layfield into the barricade, continuing to slap Layfield with disrespect, as Chris clearly didn't want to have respect for the former WWE Champion. Jericho then attempted to whip Layfield into the steel steps, just for Layfield to reverse it and Jericho went shoulder first into the steps. Layfield then dragged Y2J into the ring, where he pounded away at Jericho to no end; Layfield then taunting the New York City crowd, his hometown not paying attention to the so-called hometown hero. The tough Texan proceeded to beat into Jericho with forearms and closed fists, cutting Jericho open as he then tried to keep opening up the cut, ramming his knuckles into the tiny wound on Y2J's forehead. The fans reered Y2J on though, as JBL locked on a sleeper hold, Jericho soon rising up to his feet, running Layfield off the ropes just for JBL to fire back with a shoulder block! Layfield delivered a fallaway slam, and it seemed like the end was near for the first ever Undisputed Champion. But Jericho wasn't done yet, fighting back with several punches to the abdomen of the wealthy Layfield. JBL responded with a kick to the gut, and a snapmare, applying yet another sleeper to Jericho. But like last time Jericho revived, firing back and sending Layfield off the ropes before sending a spinning wheel kick in Layfield's direction! JBL tried to keep in there as Jericho came off of the top rope with a missile dropkick, and Jericho soon went for his patented bulldog which commonly leads to the Lionsault, just for Layfield to duck the bulldog and go for a Clothesline From Hell on Y2J, but Chris ducked it and sprung off of the second rope with a Lionsault to the standing Layfield, somehow securing the three!

Winner: Chris Jericho @ 8:29

Chris Jericho celebrated his win to a loud reaction from the New York crowd, Y2J's arm raised in victory as blood trickled thin lines down his face. Y2J climbed out of the ring and celebrated with fans in the front row whilst John Bradshaw Layfield sat up, JBL in disbelief that Jericho had defeated him! Y2J was going to the Royal Rumble match. We went to the backstage area where new WWE announcer Mike Adamle of American Gladiator fame was standing by, scheduled t catch a few words with Jeff "Harvey". Adamle was then joined by Jeff, as the fans roared for the "Charismatic Enigma". Adamle asked Jeff about his strategy against Randy Orton tonight. Hardy simply told Adamle that he was going to use his unorthodox style. Because he has been known to be unorthodox, in fact maybe people claim that Hardy is the most unorthodox and strange, original person they have ever met. He's the "Charismatic Enigma" because when he has his eyes set on something, he'll jump through hoops for it. Getting into the WWE, living his life, and living his dream. Hardy stated that it had taken him fifteen years, but he was here tonight to finally win the big one, the WWE Championship! We returned to the Madison Square Garden, where Joey Styles and Tazz introduced themselves to the show, talking about the upcoming Tables match between CM Punk and Big Daddy V, all for Punk's ECW World Championship which was stolen by Big Daddy V. They then showed us two clips from this past week, as on RAW it was CM Punk and Big Daddy V on opposing sides of a six man tag team main event, where Big Daddy V big splashed CM Punk, bruising several of Punk's ribs. The next night on ECW on Sci-Fi, Punk was defeated by Elijah Burke thanks to the damages done to his ribs by V the previous night. V then proceeded to make their match for the Royal Rumble a Tables match, putting Punk through a table to highlight this. 2) ECW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: TABLES MATCH CM Punk (c) vs Big Daddy V (w/Matt Striker) |

There were added stipulations to this match two weeks ago on ECW on Sci-Fi, as if CM Punk won this match, he would have his ECW World Championship returned to him from Matt Striker and Big Daddy V, who stole his title belt almost a month ago on ECW on Sci-Fi. Alternatively, if Big Daddy V won this, then CM Punk would never receive a rematch opportunity to regain the ECW World Championship again. The fans were behind the "Straight Edge Superstar" here, as he removed his shirt and showed off the mark on Punk's chest; the bandaged ribs that Big Daddy V managed to bruise six days ago on Monday Night RAW with the big splash. Punk tried to play hit and run with V in the opening moments, the odd kick causing V to stumble as his leg was struck with Punk's stiff kickpads. Punk continued but eventually was cut out as V pounded on the back of Punk. The "Mastodon" sent Punk into the turnbuckle, but CM Punk had some fight in him as he delivered some forearms to the challenger, then going up for a springing crossbody just for Big Daddy V to catch him, delivering a scoop slam followed up with the leg drop! The crowd acted hostile towards the veteran Big Daddy V, and Matt Striker kept instructing this "Mastodon" on what his next move should be. Striker wanted the ECW World Championship in his alliance with V and Mark Henry for sure. The battle spilled to the ringside area, as Big Daddy V delivered a back rake to Punk, then throwing him into the front row of this great Madison Square Garden audience. During this time Big Daddy V and Matt Striker pulled out a table from under the ring, and it was easy pickings for V it seemed, to simply put Punk through the table. Striker meanwhile went over to Punk and gave him a blatant fist to the face, all legal in this Tables match. Striker then dragged Punk back into the ringside area from the front row, V slipping the table into the ring. CM Punk was down as V confidently kicked Punk in the bruised ribs, an axe handle to the back, before the challenger noticed a steel chair sitting next to the announce tables around the other side of the ring. V went over to the steel chair and took it from next to the Spanish announce team, CM Punk slowly getting up just to receive a clothesline from the pest, Matt Striker! V tossed the steel chair over the top rope into the ring before going around the ring to pick up Punk's pancaked carcass, dragging him into the ring. Big Daddy V followed him, dominantly over the unconscious CM Punk with the steel chair raised high as the fans chanted "You suck". V went to drive the edge of the chair into Punk's damaged ribs just for Punk to sit up and give V a low blow! V dropped the steel chair whilst Punk got back up to his feet, wearily delivering a DDT to Big Daddy V on the chair! Punk got to his feet as the fans cheered with the steel chair in the ECW World Champion's hand, Punk delivering jabs with the chair into the "Mastodon"'s ribs! Punk placed the chair on top of V and followed up with a springboard moonsault right onto the chair, both men in pain! Matt Striker crept up behind Punk, going for the Golden Rule just for Punk to slip out, a GTS for Striker! Big Daddy V then returned to his feet, Punk with a big kick to the side of V's skull, as Punk placed V on the previously set up table in the ring. Punk went up to the top rope and came off with a moonsault, but Big Daddy V somehow moved! Punk went through the table alone to a "holy sh*t" chant from everyone in MSG, V then being handed another table from ringside from Striker. Big Daddy V set the table up in the corner, shades of last Tuesday night on ECW, as Punk was in the corner of the table, V running at Punk with a spear, but Punk leapfrogged! But V stopped just in time, trying to pick Punk up for the Samoan Drop, just for Punk to land on his feet, Punk then with a few kicks placing V firmly in the corner over the table. The "Straight Edge Superstar" walked away from V and taunted the crowd to a pop, V coming out of the corner just to get a chair thrown to his head, V groggily falling back into the table covered corner. Punk ran at V with the step-up knee to the face, followed up well with the running bulldog! Punk then had to somehow get V up for the Go To Sleep, but he knew he couldn't do it, then deciding to get behind V and run V into his own manager, as Striker went flying from the ring apron! Punk gave V another kick to the head as he then sprung off the ropes, V picking him up with the gorilla press, going to slam Punk into the cornered table, Punk instead slipping out and then applying the Anaconda Vise to V! The fans cheered, but he couldn't win with this way, and Punk instead went over to the table and set it up properly near the corner, Punk jumping up to the top and going for a diving attack, just for Striker to get on the apron again, crotching the champ! V joined Punk in the corner, V preparing the Samoan Drop on Punk but instead Punk kicked V in the skull, V on the second turnbuckle as Punk was on the top, V trying to superplex the champ through the table below, but instead Punk delivered a bulldog sending V through the table!

Winner and STILL ECW World Champion: CM Punk @ 10:17

The crowd cheered as CM Punk raised his arm into the air, the "Straight Edge Superstar" having retained the ECW World Championship, and regained possession of the title belt! Punk's hand was raised high by the referee whilst Big Daddy V remained down in the remains of the table, Matt Striker over to aid to him, as CM Punk had finally defeated the big man, Big Daddy V! An advertisement aired, promoting the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania XXIV, live on pay-per-view and to be presented in High-Definition on Sunday, March 30th 2008 from Orlando, Florida. We returned to backstage area where Shawn Michaels was shown lacing up his boots to a loud reaction, the "Heartbreak Kid" suddenly interrupted by Triple H. Triple H asked Shawn if he had heard what happened. HBK asked what had happened, Hunter looking concerned. Triple H told Shawn to come with him as the two walked through several corridors where backstage officials seemingly increased more and more throughout the cameraman's journey, and we suddenly saw the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair himself laid out in a pool of blood on the bathroom floor! Many officials checked on the Hall of Famer, as Shawn and Triple H helped Flair's head up, and looked at each other in anger; it seemed like William Regal or Mr McMahon was behind this, conspicuous of their absences! Meanwhile, Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman welcomed us to the SmackDown! section of the show, expressing concern for Ric Flair, then running down the storyline for the next match, the World Heavyweight Championship on the line, where Edge would be defending the title against Rey Mysterio. We cut to a video package telling us of the story between these two, all beginning in 2002, where Edge and Rey Mysterio were WWE Tag Team Champions, but years after their reign as champions, Edge became injured. Meanwhile, Rey Mysterio's relationship with Vickie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero became strained, shortly after Eddie Guerrero's death. At the 2007 Survivor Series, Edge returned to SmackDown!, and immediately struck a flame when he revealed his relationship with Vickie Guerrero. At Armageddon 2007 Edge won the World title from Batista and The Undertaker due to his new colleagues, the Edgeheads. But as Edge and La Familia continued to dictate SmackDown!, Rey Mysterio stepped up to the plate, pinning the World Heavyweight Champion in a six man tag team match on SmackDown!. Rey's knee however, weakened as weeks went by. Can Rey Mysterio take the title from the "Rated R Superstar"? We cut to the backstage area near to the Gorilla Position, as Rey Mysterio was making his way past several crew members and production members for Madison Square Garden, when suddenly he ran into Batista, the "Animal" wishing Mysterio luck and telling him to bring the World Heavyweight Championship home so he can defend it against Batista himself at WrestleMania! Rey promised to try his best, then heading for the ring. 3) WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Edge (c) vs Rey Mysterio |

The "Rated R Superstar" was extremely confident going into this match, his opponent Rey Mysterio was walking in tonight with an injured knee, and so Edge had his strategy all planned out. Edge initially brought his girlfriend, SmackDown! General Manager Vickie Guerrero out to ringside, but moments later it was the Assistant General Manager, Theodore Long that escorted Vickie to watch the match from the backstage area! Edge wasn't happy with the decision, as this knocked his concentration as well, Rey with several kicks to Edge's legs followed up with a victory roll almost costing the "Rated R Superstar" the World Heavyweight Championship right there and then! Mysterio continued to be on the attack, a snap sunset flip also nearly giving Mysterio the victory, but Edge soon used his agility to match up to Rey's, jumping right on Rey with a front facelock, picking him off of the canvas and then whipping Mysterio into the ropes just for the challenger to 619 himself back into the ring, perplexing the World Champion! Mysterio and Edge faced off before locking up, Rey ducking the collar-elbow tie-up with a waistlock takedown, Rey seemingly going for more of a technical attack to dodge aggravating his knee injuries. Mysterio then ran off of the ropes and came off with a dropkick to Edge's face, Rey going for the cover once again for a near fall. Rey then whipped Edge into the ropes and came off with what seemed to be a wheelbarrow bulldog, but Edge faceplanted Rey into the canvas! That's where the "Rated R Superstar" struck gold, targeting the well documented knee of the challenger and delivering forearms to it. Edge then managed to apply a successful Mexican surfboard! Rey rived in pain at the pressure on the back of his legs whilst he was stretched as well, but Rey eventually leaned back, covering Edge's shoulders to the mat until Rey managed to escaped the stretch and grapevine the body of Edge, lifting him up and slamming him on his ass again, Rey attempting a sleeper hold with the grapevine around the waist, but Edge managed to turn Rey over, Edge positioning Rey on his shoulders and going for the electric chair drop, just for Rey to turn it around into a hurricanrana! Rey ran at Edge, Edge dodging it and chop blocking the poor leg of the challenger! Edge dropped an elbow on it before trying to stretch it in a sideways direction: an impossible feat for the leg to do without breaking it. Edge then continued the attack, as Rey went off the ropes, going for the hurricanrana headscissors, but Edge blocked it with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, then slamming Rey upside down in the ropes with a tree of woe! The crowd booed Edge furiously as the "Rated R Superstar" went over and stood on the middle turnbuckle, driving his own knee into the injured knee of Mysterio, dropping some elbows on it! Rey however used a handy reversal, using his upper body strength to sit up from the tree of woe and deliver a German-style suplex on Edge from the second rope! Rey then slowly mounted the top rope, coming off with a moonsault for a near fall! Mysterio went to follow up, diving off of the ropes just to walk right into a big boot from Edge, getting a two count! Edge had not bargained for this style of competition, pounding away at Rey's head with right hands. The "Rated R Superstar" began to get angrier and angrier as he picked up the legs and applied the Edgecator, the crowd booing loudly as Mysterio was in no-man's land, far away from the ropes and locked in a move that could potentially aggravate the knee of Mysterio! Rey tried to reach for the ropes whilst the official continued to check if Rey wanted to give up or not, Mysterio climbed over the official's back as Edge released the hold because of being tangled in the referee! An interesting reversal used, as Mysterio then crawled underneath Edge, a headscissors to Edge connecting! Edge used the ropes to help him get up, and Rey saw it, going for the 619 when suddenly Edge pulled the referee onto the second rope with him, Edge and the official going flying! Rey then proceeded to Drop the Dime, covering just for the referee's brains to be scrambled! Edge was dazed as Rey continued to pound on Edge, a spinning kick to the face of the seated Edge, and Mysterio seriously wanted the World Heavyweight Championship. But that's when Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins ran down to the ring, the Edgeheads in the ring where Mysterio gave Hawkins a dropkick to the feet and a hurricanrana to Ryder, both Edgeheads in the ropes for the 619 but Edge suddenly sidetracked Mysterio with a Spear out of nowhere! The World Heavyweight Champion applied a second Edgecator, Mysterio in pain whilst the referee slowly revived, and Mysterio tried so hard to fight the pain, but it was too much for his knee and Rey tapped!

Winner and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Edge @ 12:14

Edge released the hold to loud boos as the "Rated R Superstar" dropped to his knees in exhaustion. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder helped Edge to his feet and handed him his World Heavyweight Championship, the SmackDown! General Manager Vickie Guerrero running down the aisle and hugging her boyfriend as La Familia had seemingly got the job done tonight at the Royal Rumble! Meanwhile Rey Mysterio was left down in the ring as the crowd cheered for Rey's amazing effort, a stretcher coming down for Mysterio and Rey was helped onto it before being assisted out of the Garden to a huge reaction from the adoring New York crowd. An advertisement aired, promoting the next WWE pay-per-view event, No Way Out! Live on Sunday, February 17th 2008 from Las Vegas, Nevada. We went to the backstage area where John Morrison and The Miz were discussing their entrance numbers for the upcoming Royal Rumble match, and how only one man could go on to WrestleMania XXIV. They talked out a game plan for the thirty man match, how they teamed up to take everyone out, and when they were the final two guys in the Rumble, to take the "Rocky III Freezeframe Ending"! They were then interrupted by Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin, as Benjamin noted what the cat had dragged in. Burke asked Morrison and Miz if they won their matches on Tuesday night at ECW on Sci-Fi. Burke stated that they hadn't, but the "Elijah Experience" himself had, he beat the ECW World Champion, CM Punk! And luck would strike twice tonight because Burke and Benjamin were getting the job done and showing these fans the true glory of wrestling in the Royal Rumble and being in the final two! They then walked away as the WWE Tag Team Champions wondered what had just happened. We returned to the parking lot where many officials surrounded an ambulance, Ric Flair being loaded into the back of it, as Shawn Michaels and Triple H of D-Generation X wondered where the hell William Regal was, because he was definitely going to pay if he had something to do with the attack of the "Nature Boy". Hunter then commented on how this must have been a way to sidetrack the concentration of DX prior to the Royal Rumble. HBK and HHH made a pact that they would dedicate the Rumble to their fallen mentor, because they both wanted the Rumble win so so badly. We returned to Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler at ringside as they talked about what a tragic night it was for Ric Flair when he was supposed to be in the Royal Rumble match. They then moved on, talking about the WWE Championship match as Randy Orton was prepared to defend the title against Jeff Hardy! They ran down the history before cutting to a video package. Jeff Hardy has been inspirational since his professional wrestling debut in 1995, working for the company from the age of fifteen. Jeff then rose through the ranks with his brother Matt, forming the popular Hardy Boyz. Jeff has always wanted to be the best in the world, and now is his time, as he defeated Triple H at Armageddon to gain contention to Randy Orton's WWE Championship. Meanwhile, Orton has won the WWE title and donned this the Age of Orton, defeating many superstars such as Triple H, Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels, but the one man he has been unable to beat in singles competition is Jeff Hardy. Hardy has pinned Orton in singles action, and is determined to take the title from Orton for the first time. Clips of the "Rooftops" tribute video for Hardy aired, showing his daredevil tactics all to reach this climb of the mountain, but can he top it off? We'll find out tonight! 4) WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Randy Orton (c) vs Jeff Hardy | This was Jeff Hardy's time to shine, as all 20,798 fans in attendance in Madison Square Garden waiting for the "Charismatic Enigma" to reach the top of superstardom and finally win the big WWE Championship. Randy Orton recently has expressed himself being almost like a "Viper", and he proved it a lot tonight as the two locked up to start off, Hardy immediately going with the lefts and rights, then whipping Orton off of the ropes and ducking Orton, leapfrogging Randy just for Orton to come back with a dropkick! Orton pounded on Jeff a few times, but Hardy once again fired back, the jawbreaker on Orton connecting before following up with a dropkick of his own, sending Orton through the ropes to the ringside area! The WWE Champion needed a breather when suddenly Hardy came over the top rope with a diving senton, Orton taken out by Hardy as the fans were rooting solely for the "Rainbow-haired Warrior". Hardy climbed onto the apron and went up top, but once again the "Viper" used his reptilian tendencies to dropkick Hardy from the top rope, landing on the barricade hard at ringside. Orton stalked Jeff around ringside, then punching him in the back of the head and gorilla pressing Hardy chest-first onto the barricade. Orton soon went to whip Hardy into the barricade but Jeff flipped it around and Orton went into the barricade, running back to receive a flying clothesline from Jeff! Hardy was pulling out all of the stops, as Jeff rolled Orton back into the ring, then getting onto the apron and dropping a leg over the back of Orton's head. Hardy continued the attack, springing over the top rope from the apron to run off of the other side of the ring's ropes, just to walk into a powerslam out of nowhere from the WWE Champion! The crowd booed as Orton followed up with a headlock, trying to weaken down the "Charismatic Enigma", but Hardy quickly got back up to his feet, running Orton off of the ropes just for Randy to knock him down with a shoulder block, then picking Hardy up and delivering a scoop slam as well, Hardy down, Orton covering for a near fall. The "Viper" dropped a knee over the face of Jeff, weakening the number one contender down again, as Randy slapped on another sleeper, Hardy down, as the fans in the Garden started to clap their hands together, waiting for Jeff to return to his feet again, Orton instead releasing the hold as Jeff started making a comeback, instead nailing the inverted neckbreaker! Randy played to the crowd to receive loud boos, Orton's ego coming out as he stomped away at the head of the "Charismatic Enigma" around his limps, then going for a knee just for Jeff to move, but he didn't manage to move out of the way of a double axe handle to the back of the head! Randy continued the beatdown of Jeff, slapping him twice before snapmaring Jeff and following it up with a knee to the upper vertebrae of Jeff Hardy. Orton then picked Hardy off of the canvas and set him up for a powerbomb turned into a neckbreaker, but Hardy tried to fight, just for Orton to go ahead and turn it into his neckbreaker! Orton continued to haunt Hardy around the canvas, the occasional stomp knocking Hardy down again, but Hardy slowly made a comeback, and Jeff nailed a spinning enzuigiri in retaliation to Orton, Jeff soon going up to the top rope for a move, just for the "Viper" to quickly get up and head for the top rope, coming off with the superplex! The crowd booed as Orton had made such a quick momentum change, Randy going right back to work on the neck of the "Charismatic Enigma". Orton continued to give Hardy several shots before going for a fireman's carry, just for Hardy to roll over Orton's shoulders onto his feet, running off of the ropes and delivering a running dropkick! Orton slid out of the ring as Hardy got out of the ring on the opposite side to the champ, running around and tiptoeing the barricades, coming off with a splash right on Orton! Jeff removed his shirt to a loud, effeminate pop from the girls in MSG tonight, Hardy placing Orton back into the ring, where Hardy went up to the top rope and went for the Swanton Bomb just for Orton to get his knees up! Randy Orton delivered a huge RKO and covered, but Jeff somehow managed to kick out! The "Viper" was irritated, arguing with the official before picking the groggy Hardy up, bouncing off of the ropes and clotheslining Hardy down, more circled stomps around the limps of the contender, Jeff continuing to keep moving, and Orton quickly set up for a second RKO, just for Hardy to push Orton off! Jeff ducked a right hand and sprung to the top rope, nailing the Whisper in the Wind beautifully! Jeff hooked a leg just for Orton to get the shoulder up! Orton remained down as Jeff lifted Randy's legs up and delivered a legdrop to the gut, the "Rainbow-haired Warrior" then rolling Orton up just for Orton to flip Hardy over into a sunset flip, Hardy rolling back onto his feet and delivering a dropkick to Orton! Jeff continued to beat on Orton, a backdrop connecting, and Hardy bridged for a very close second fall! Hardy continued as he ran off of the ropes just for Orton to spring up and delivering a flying clothesline to Jeff! The crowd booed as yet again the "Viper" was in control, wanting to retain the Age of Orton and the WWE Championship. Orton positioned Jeff on the top rope once again, a European uppercut stunning Jeff, but Jeff raked the eyes of Orton stunning the champ slightly, Jeff going for a second Whisper in the Wind just for Orton to catch Hardy on the way down with a powerbomb! Orton got set up for his third RKO attempt, pulling Hardy around and going for the RKO just for Jeff to reverse again, the Reverse of Fate connecting! The fans were on their feet but Jeff couldn't follow up, instead slowly going up to the top rope, slowly getting ready for the Swanton Bomb just for Orton to once again slowly get up, getting some punches in on the "Charismatic Enigma". Orton went for another superplex, but Hardy knocked Orton and he fell down to the canvas, Hardy with a Swanton Bomb! Jeff got the cover, near fall! The Garden was on fire, everyone in disbelief that Orton had managed to kick out of the Swanton Bomb. Jeff grabbed Orton in the DDT and went to drop Orton with it, Orton instead pushing Jeff away and both men clotheslining each other down to the canvas! The official counted the two gladiators out, Hardy reaching his feet at eight, whilst Orton got up for nine, and Jeff went for the Twist of Fate just for Orton to turn it around, preparing an RKO, but Hardy pushed Orton away again! Hardy delivered a hurricanrana, then going up to the top rope for a third Swanton Bomb in this gripping, edge-of-your-seat match, Orton suddenly getting up and delivering a Super RKO to Jeff! Orton hooked the legs and got the three! | Winner and STILL WWE Champion: Randy Orton @ 13:59 |

The crowd booed as the theme of Randy Orton hit, the "Viper" remaining down on his back over Jeff Hardy, as Orton had just shot Jeff Hardy's dream dead in its tracks! The official handed Orton his WWE Championship belt as the "Viper" slowly got up to his feet, raising his rightfully retained gold above his head and taunting to the crowd before leaving, the effects of a hard-fought match. The crowd booed as Orton left, whilst the official helped Jeff Hardy up to his feet. The fans gave the "Charismatic Enigma" a loud ovation, and Jeff will surely fight another day. They chanted 'Hardy' whilst the referee helped Jeff to the backstage area. In the backstage area we see an exhuasted Randy Orton, as William Regal and Mr McMahon approached the "Viper", congratulating him on an amazing match, the Chairman calling Orton worthy of being WWE Champion, better than the disrespectful scumbag, Jeff Hardy. Orton nodded before walking away, when Vince and William started discussing who he could potentially be facing in two months at WrestleMania XXIV. That's when DX appeared, the unit of Shawn Michaels and Triple H appearing, Hunter asking Regal and McMahon if they had seen Ric Flair. Regal was suspicious, stating that he had, that he was in great shape for tonight's Royal Rumble match. Shawn Michaels then told the RAW General Manager that he was clearly lying, because Flair was attacked an hour ago and was taken away in an ambulance. Regal seemed shocked and embarrassed, as Triple H played the detective asking McMahon if he had any part in it, being the man to put Ric Flair in this win-or-retire situation. The Chairman simply told DX that he's admittedly been late as his flight to New York had been delayed and that he had only just arrived in time for the WWE Championship match. Shawn then turned his head to Regal, mentioning how he didn't seem to want him in the Royal Rumble match tonight. HBK asked Regal if he had anything to do with it, but Regal denied, stating that he was stuck with Vince and so they flew in via Corporate Jet in time for the WWE title match. McMahon then demanded that DX drop this charades and get prepared anyway, because the Rumble was coming up, and McMahon couldn't wait to see Michaels and Hunter get their asses thrown over the top rope! DX walked away silently as McMahon and Regal continued their conversation. Howard Finkel was in the ring as we returned to the arena, the fans rowdy as Finkel announced the rules for the Royal Rumble match. He mentioned that two men start, and another man entered every two minutes. This continues until all thirty entrants have been in the match, and there can only be ONE winner. Finkel went on to explain elimination occurring when both of a superstar's feet have touched the floor. Porter was in harm's way as Finlay then got him up and slammed him with the Celtic Cross, Morrison then got involved, a sharp enzuigiri taking Finlay down! Morrison stomped away at Finlay, then landing a huge standing shooting star press on the "Fighting Irishman". Morrison tried to toss MVP out, but John was exhausted after approximately thirty minutes in this match, MVP going back after Morrison. Porter got cocky though, preparing the Playmaker to get revenge on Finlay, but Finlay reversed, flipping MVP over the top rope and eliminating the WWE United States Champion! MVP was angry, as he tried to re-enter the ring but officials took him to the back, Finlay having MVP's number tonight! [MVP ELIMINATED]
#16 - Bobby Lashley The former ECW World Champion made his return to the ring tonight, as Lashley was making his return after six months of not being seen by WWE fans, in fact it was hinted that he had left the company in the past few weeks. Lashley looked great as the fans were hot for him, Lashley delivering a Spear to Triple H! Lashley continued his attack, going after his WrestleMania 23 rival, Umaga; Umaga and Lashley trading blows before Umaga went for a Samoan Spike, Lashley then off the ropes and delivering a Spear to Umaga! Lashley looked great as he then went after John Morrison, Morrison trying to fight him off with every ounce of energy, but Lashley delivered a belly-to-belly suplex on Morrison sending Morison halfway across the ring! Finlay went after Lashley, several stomps in the corner and a European uppercut stunning the returnee.
#17 - Brian Kendrick The other half of the former World Tag Team Champions was here, as Kendrick rushed into the ring, immediately with Sliced Bread #2 delivered to the #2 entrant Batista, Kendrick trading forearms with Morrison, but Morrison tossed him into the corner, several kicks followed up with a turnaround enzuigiri showing off Morrison's educated feet! Morrison went over to Triple H, Morrison with a hurricanrana to the "Game", Hunter getting up to be met with a leg lariat! Meanwhile Lashley came out of the corner on Finlay, an STO taking down the "Fighting Irishman" whilst Hornswoggle watched on, Lashley attempting to eliminate Finlay.
#18 - Mark Henry The "World's Strongest Man" was out next to a loud chorus of boos, Mark Henry followed by Matt Striker, Striker already suffering a loss tonight as Big Daddy V fell to CM Punk in the Tables match. Mark Henry got onto the apron but was immediately knocked off of it by Bobby Lashley, the former ECW World Champion treating his former rival with no respect, but since Mark hadn't entered the ring officially he was not eliminated. Lashley was then taken down with a Samoan Spike by Umaga, the "Samoan Bulldozer" making a comeback, a clothesline to Brian Kendrick and another Samoan Spike to Finlay, when Batista suddenly ran Umaga over the top rope! Triple H followed with an elimination to his former protegé as the teacher had outsmarted the student! Hunter shrugged as Batista looked angered, but not as angry as Umaga, the "Samoan Bulldozer" with a stomp to the back of Batista's shoulder, Umaga then sending Batista into the barricade, Umaga being escorted from ringside whilst Batista looked to be in pain. Mark Henry then re-entered the match, delivering a huge World's Strongest Slam to Batista through the ECW announce table! Mark Henry had had his shine anyway, eliminating Batista to a more physical extent here! [UMAGA ELIMINATED][BATISTA ELIMINATED]
#19 - Kevin Thorn The resident vampire from ECW made his way down to the ring without Mike Knox tonight, as Thorn climbed into the ring and went straight after Bobby Lashley, reigniting their previous New Breed feud, but Lashley immediately took Thorn down with the Dominator, then running across the ring at Triple H with the Spear just to be launched shoulder first into the ring post! Morrison then took the opportunity to join Mark Henry in throwing Lashley over the top rope. Mark Henry then attacked Morrison with a scoop slam, going over to the "Cerebral Assassin" to delivered several reverse splashes into the corner on him, Triple H diving onto Mark's back and locking in a sleeper hold with attempted grapevine, Mark simply flicking Hunter over, Finlay rushing at Triple H with a knee to the face, Mark Henry then delivering the World's Strongest Slam to Finlay! [BOBBY LASHLEY ELIMINATED]
#20 - Lance Cade - The other half of the former World Tag Team Champions ran down to the ring, joining the attack of Mark Henry with John Morrison, Henry easily fighting Cade off and gorilla press slamming Kevin Thorn out of the ring! Mark Henry definitely wanted the Royal Rumble victory as he shrugged Morrison off as well, a big splash to Triple H in the corner! Henry went to eliminate Hunter, but that's when Cade, Morrison, Kendrick, Finlay and Triple H all co-operated, managing to eliminate the "World's Strongest Man" from the match! Hunter then followed up, managing to toss Kendrick out, before Finlay delivered a steam roller on Morrison, then walking into a clothesline knocking him out of the ring! Cade then attempted to jump Triple H from behind, the Pedigree connecting! [MARK HENRY ELIMINATED][BRIAN KENDRICK ELIMINATED][FINLAY ELIMINATED]
#21 - Shawn Michaels The "Heartbreak Kid" was up next, as Shawn Michaels rushed down to the ring, HBK delivering the Sweet Chin Music to John Morrison, the man now running the forty-two minute mark in this match! HBK high fived Triple H before the two immediately span around and faced off, DX potentially exploding, and it was all in dedication of the attacked Ric Flair. Michaels and Hunter locked up before suddenly Kevin Thorn stepped in, going after the two; Michaels easily delivered Sweet Chin Music to Thorn, Triple H scooping up Thorn and throwing him over the top rope for the elimination! It was back down to DX and John Morrison, as Hunter and Michaels brawled, Triple H with a knee to the gut, whipping Michaels off of the ropes and HBK came back with his classic flying forearm, nipping up and then climbing to the top rope and coming off with the flying elbow drop on Morrison! [KEVIN THORN ELIMINATED]
#22 - Mr Kennedy was up next, the WWE Intercontinental Champion with some beef with Shawn Michaels, and Kennedy immediately capitalizing, throwing HBK through the ropes to the outside, Mr Kennedy then clubbing away at a weakened John Morrison, attempting to throw him out over the turnbuckle but Triple H then turned Kennedy around, delivering several punches to Kennedy, Kennedy in a dangerous place as Hunter tried to launch him over the top rope, Kennedy landing on the apron and then grabbing Hunter, trying to throw Triple H out with him. John Morrison kicked Triple H in the back, Morrison with a bulldog to Triple H before Kennedy went up top and delivered the Kenton Bomb on the "Game"! Kennedy then walked straight into the Moonlight Drive from Morrison as Shawn Michaels re-entered the match, a flying forearm for Morrison.
#23 - The Miz was up next, the other WWE Tag Team Champion here to help John Morrison out in this encounter. Miz and Michaels traded blows, Morrison then getting up and Miz and Morrison started to pound away at Michaels, going to throw HBK out just for Michaels to skin the cat! Triple H then got in, and DX faced off with the WWE Tag Team Champions, John Morrison and The Miz. Triple H knocked Miz down whilst Morrison poked Michaels in the eye, kicking HBK in the corner, but Hunter delivered a facebuster to Miz, a clothesline following. The two teams brawled.
#24 - Super Crazy came out next, but as soon as he ran into the ring, he was immediately launched over the top rope by Morrison! This was met with boos from the pro-original ECW fanbase in the Garden. Meanwhile Morrison delivered a chop to Hunter, Morrison and Miz once again controlling Triple H, dropping the 2002 Royal Rumble winner with a double flapjack! They went to work over Shawn in the corner with individual chops, but Michaels fired back with chops to both champions, followed up with a Sweet Chin Music to Miz!
#25 - Mick Foley was our second surprise entrant, and the fans roared at the "Hardcore Legend"s arrival, Foley running out and delivering several punches to his old rival, Triple H, then delivering a Double Arm DDT on Morrison! Foley followed up with his running knee to Shawn Michaels in the corner, and Foley signalled the "Bang Bang!" pistols. Foley was then attacked by the Miz from behind, Foley outbrawling Miz easily though, sending Miz off the ropes and taking him out with a running shoulder block! Foley was definitely going in for the kill as he delivered a piledriver to Triple H, then eliminating The Miz with a clothesline! [THE MIZ ELIMINATED]
#26 - Chris Jericho was next, the man who qualified for the Royal Rumble match earlier tonight, Y2J with a bandaid on his forehead as Jericho rushed into the ring, trading blows with Mick Foley before running off of the ropes and taking Foley down with a spinning wheel kick! The crowd were heavily behind Y2J as he delivered a bulldog to the groggy John Morrison, following up with a successful Lionsault, and Y2J was on a mission, going after Triple H before falling to a clothesline. Hunter and Shawn went back at it with lefts and rights before Foley got back involved. Mr Kennedy then slipped into the ring again after resting on the floor, the WWE Intercontinental Champion delivering the Mic Check to the "Hardcore Legend"!
#27 - The Undertaker arrived next, the twenty-seventh spot in the Rumble constantly leading superstars to victory in this environment, and the "Phenom" eerily made his way into the ring, immediately meeting Shawn Michaels, and HBK mouthed that 'Taker eliminating Shawn wouldn't happen this year! But Mr Kennedy got involved, taking Michaels down from behind and then walking into a Chokeslam from the "Deadman"! The Undertaker took Triple H into the corner and delivered many body shots before wrenching the arm and dragging it to the corner, where 'Taker went up and delivered Old School to the "Game"! Undertaker then tossed John Morrison over the top rope, ending the "Shaman of Sexy"s outstanding fifty-four minute run in this match! Foley then got up and slapped 'Taker across the back, reigniting the classic rivalry. [JOHN MORRISON ELIMINATED]
#28 - Elijah Burke - This was the final ECW entrant in this match, as Burke made his way down to the ring, getting into the ring and attacking Shawn Michaels, a huge uppercut knocking HBK down to the mat. Burke then delivered the Elijah Express to Michaels, turning around to get the Pedigree from Triple H! Meanwhile Undertaker and Foley engaged in combat, Foley ending up being sent through the ropes, as he immediately went to ringside for a steel chair, Foley re-entering and slamming 'Taker in the spine with a chair! This was received with a nice "ECW" chant.
#29 - John Cena - This New York crowd were shocked as they weren't expecting this one, the former WWE Champion arriving to a heated mixed reaction, Cena running down to the ring and taking it to the Undertaker, then giving some lefts and rights to Triple H, the FU connecting on Elijah Burke, Mick Foley with the steel chair slamming Cena in the head, almost perhaps reinjuring the pectoral muscle of Cena! We weren't even expecting Cena back this early!
#30 - The Great Khali - The final superstar in this match as revealed from the battle royal two weeks ago was the man to come out last from the SmackDown! brand, Khali slowly got in the ring, a Punjab Chop delivered to the "Phenom", then slapping the steel chair out of Mick Foley's hands and immediately choking him out over the top rope! Khali was on a roll as he followed up, easily gorilla pressing Elijah Burke over the top rope as well! DX then went after Khali, but Khali chokeslammed them both in one! Khali was unstoppable, a huge chop into the heart of Chris Jericho in the corner. Kennedy was courageous however, a drop toe hold sending Khali into the top rope, and Kennedy went to eliminate the largest man in this match, but Shawn Michaels instead tossed Kennedy out! [MICK FOLEY ELIMINATED][ELIJAH BURKE ELIMINATED][MR KENNEDY ELIMINATED]
John Cena soon entered the battle royal turned match, several punches to Khali, but Khali delivered a big boot taking down the returning hero. Shawn Michaels ran at Khali just for Khali to grab him by the skull, Triple H with the save, a low blow to Khali! Shawn, Hunter, Cena, Y2J and the Undertaker then all took part in finally tossing Khali over the top rope! Undertaker and Shawn went at it, as did Cena and Chris Jericho, Triple H standing around and joining in with Cena and Y2J, Hunter taking it to Jericho before the "Deadman" went for a Chokeslam, Lance Cade suddenly appearing from nowhere and eliminating both Michaels and 'Taker! The crowd booed loudly as Cade had shocked the world! But that's when Triple H suddenly clotheslined Cade out for good measures! [THE GREAT KHALI ELIMINATED][SHAWN MICHAELS ELIMINATED][THE UNDERTAKER ELIMINATED][LANCE CADE ELIMINATED]
We were down to three, as John Cena was getting a mixed reaction, Y2J was getting chants, and so was Triple H! One of these RAW superstars would be going to WrestleMania XXIV! Cena and Triple H then exploded into a fury of fists, Jericho interrupting with a dropkick to Cena sending him into Hunter! Jericho went to dunk Hunter out but Cena pulled Y2J away, the FU connecting on Y2J! Triple H then got up and delivered a spinebuster to Cena, going to throw Jericho out, but Y2J switched it and Hunter went over! Down to 2 in the 2008 Royal Rumble! Cena and Jericho traded blows, these two feuded up until Cena eliminated Jericho from the WWE in August 2005, but now Cena was back as was Y2J, all for this prestigious honor! Cena nailed a shoulder block and went to eliminate Jericho with an FU, Jericho reversing and landing on the apron! Y2J pulled Cena over, the two on the apron fighting to knock the other one down, Jericho down with a clothesline onto the apron! Cena got Y2J up and went for the FU, Jericho landing on the apron, arm dragging Cena out! [TRIPLE H ELIMINATED]JOHN CENA ELIMINATED] | Winner of the 2008 Royal Rumble: Chris Jericho @ 67:39 |

The crowd exploded as John Cena was in disbelief, Chris Jericho's time was here! Pyrotechnics went off and Y2J celebrated, Chris Jericho was going to WrestleMania! The Royal Rumble went off the air!

Onto the Rumble.
Opening with Jericho/JBL is the logical choice, Jericho being busted open told a good story whilst the finish sounded cool with the Clothesline from Hell counter into a standing Moonsault, Jericho going over was expected but the right move I believe. Mike Adamle, yay, decent Jeff Hardy promo to hype up his match.
CM Punk/V sounded solid with a good story told throughout, liked Matt Striker's involvement and V just punishing Punk instead of going for the finish sounded good, didn't make wither guy seem weak. Punk winning was expected and it'll be interesting to see where you go with him next. I figured you'd find an out for Ric Flair and this is an intriguing one.
Edge/Rey sounded like another fun match. Again match told a good story with Rey's knee, the finish was good with Edge using the distraction and spearing Rey and then working over the knee for the submission victory, nicely done. Miz/Morrison/Burke/Benjamin segment was fun, wonder if it'll lead to anything either tonight or later on.
Orton/Hardy again sounded great, liked the fact that you played off that they couldn't connect with their finishers. Sounded like a real barn burner and the Hardy near fall was well done. Don't know about a Super RKO finish but otherwise it sounded like a fantastic match. I was kind of expecting & hoping for Hardy to get the win with the build you did to it but I'm guessing that you'll hold out on the Jeff title victory.
Onto the Rumble match, I just want to say this is a really easy to read format and was well written. John Morrison & Batista are a good choice for numbers one and two, hopefully they can go far. Next couple of entrants are the usual no hopers, though Chavo entering when he did helps the Animal/La Familia feud. Batista getting the first elimination of Snitsky was nice. MVP at 7 is nice another one I hope for a decent length stay. Batista cleaning house, that's good although I would like to see some others getting some eliminations. Triple H at 10 is good as it allows him to toss some of the trash. Triple H/Batista confrontation was good, glad MVP eliminated Duggan, Morrison looking good so far hanging with the big boys. Umaga in adds another big name to the match, him going on a path of destruction was nice and eliminating Shelton. Finlay in and continuing his feud with MVP is nice, MVP's elimination was well done with him being too cocky. Bobby Lashley was a nice unexpected surprise, look forward to seeing where you head with him. Lashley knocking Henry off was good, I also liked the spot with Triple H getting the better of his protege. Surprised Lashley was made to look rather weak, if he's not sticking around then it's OK I guess. Everyone ganging up to eliminate Henry was realistic, I'm assuming it was Triple H eliminating Finlay? Shawn Michaels coming in now is nice as we are starting to get deep, I thought Henry eliminated Thorn in the previous section? Michaels/Triple H stuff was a bit weird I figured they would've worked together for at least a while. Kennedy coming in is nice and continuing his feud with Michaels, Morrison still looking strong by contributing moves to the match. Miz is next is good and it allows for a DX/Miz & Morrison pair off which was well done. Foley is another pleasant surprise, I'm not necessarily glad with a part timer eliminating one of the tag champs but I do hope to see Foley in some sort of role leading up to Mania. Y2J and The Undertaker are good late choices, John Morrison finally out with an impressive run, though I think he could've served well by eliminating at least some one. Liked the interactions with Foley and his old rivals in Triple H and The Undertaker. John Cena returning as he did is great it hardly should've been a mixed reaction though. Khali in last to clear some of the ring, I think eliminating Foley would've been better served for a younger heel though. Kennedy eliminated by Michaels is good as well as it build on their mini feud. Everyone ganging up on Khali is nice after he laid out pretty much everyone. I think I speak for everyone when I say WTF at Lance Cade eliminating Undertaker & Michaels, completely random and a bit unrealistic there and such an odd choice, seriously Lance Cade? Lance Cade being eliminated next is good as it leaves Triple H, Cena & Jericho. Final three sounded good as did the eliminations, shocked that Jericho picked up the win here as there doesn't appear to be any real Wrestlemania matchups for him with the current champs.
Overall a really, really good show top to bottom, there were a couple of minor odd booking decisions in there and I wish a couple of different people picked up some eliminations, but the show achieved what it was supposed to, some pleasant returns, some stars made in the rumble and some sort of direction for Mania.
The format was easy to read and the show was really well written and booked. I'm looking forward to Mania, great job.

I have the patience of an impatient person, so I'm going to whiz through the Royal Rumble Match if you don't mind. But first, I'm very happy to see that Chris Jericho won the Royal Rumble slot and not John Bradshaw Layfield, he doesn't need it. I was totally pulling for Big Daddy V to win the ECW Championship, but never mind. I suppose CM Punk winning is the right move. I fully expected Edge to retain the World Heavyweight Championship, I think you'll have him go the whole hog and defend it at WrestleMania, but not sure who against, possibly Batista? Happy to see Randy Orton retain the WWE Championship here as Jeff Hardy wasn't ready at this point, but it's a good push for him to be in the match in the first place.
Batista entering at number two here was very interesting, I expect to see him last a while. Snitsky was an easy first elimination, he obviously wouldn't win. Disappointed that Cody Rhodes didn't last longer, but I guess he wasn't as popular as he is nowadays back then. Loved seeing 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan in there, but expected him to be eliminated soonafter. Deuce and Domino just seem like waste spots to me, I was never a fan of them in the first place, so glad to see Deuce deumped out early. LASHLEY! I'm a big Lashley mark. Shocked to see Batista eliminated, I expected him to go further. Boo @ the Bobby Lashley elimination! Hope we see more of him. Nostalgic to see Mick Foley return, but he can barely walk, yet he's still returning in 2012, it's sad. I love that John Morrison had such a good run, he's definitely one to look out for in the future. Chris Jericho with the victory is fantastic! I loved him around this time so to see him go to WrestleMania is great, but will he face Randy Orton or Edge? Could we see Edge versus Jericho two years early? Or maybe you'll have a title change at No Way Out? Either way, a great Rumble.

Raw is War Good opening segment with Flair and Regal. Obvious that Flair will win tonight, but it's nothing new with this storyline. I liked the Orton interview, hoping he goes into 'Mania as champ. Decent title defense for Holly and Rhodes, good way to kick off the show. Kennedy versus Michaels tonight should be class. I like to see Carlito and Santino's team will be forming. Alright win for JBL going into the Rumble. Nice stip for it, and JBL getting the upper hand in the brawl was good. Predictable win for Flair over Regal. Nice to see Triple H come out, wait, if Flair loses the Rumble, he must retire? I can't see him winning, but losing the Rumble would be a terrible way to go out. I see him being taken out somehow. Decent interview for Jeff Hardy, giving Haas Ziggler's gimmick? At least Haas is being used. Another predictable tag match here, but again it was the right call. Great match between Kennedy and Michaels. I liked the ending with Umaga running out and standing tall. I just feel like such a match would have been better being the opener or main event. A near 20 minute match in the middle of the second hour seems off. I dig Kennedy as Intercontinental Champion, though. Wow, didn't expect the heels to go over in the main event! Not really fond of Orton pinning his challenger, though. Overall, it was a good show, some predictable matches, but it was an enjoyable read.
Smackdown Decent opening promo. Tag main event should be fun. Really liking the U.K. faction. Would like to see them capture the tag and U.S. titles. Especially because you could do a lot of fun things if McIntyre was the U.S. champ. Good win for Taylor and Smith to kick off the show. Next match wasn't all that interesting, but it should be an enjoyable match. Nice win for Noble though. Didn't care for the Noble/Palumbo storyline in real life, so I don't really care for it in this diary. Nice first hour main event with MVP retaining the United States Championship by count-out. I'm actually warming up to the idea of a feud between the two. I liked seeing MVP escape with another dirty win, I wouldn't mind if you stretched their feud out to No Way Out in a Belfast Brawl or so. For some reason I've always enjoyed when 'Taker faces Henry. Maybe just because I'm a sucker for anything involving 'Taker. Good finish and aftermath, but I feel like that tag match would be slow. As long as it's on Smackdown! it should be alright. The eight man tag tonight should be even better, but I imagine it will be a cluster. Punk and Kane are alright tag partners, didn't expect Big Daddy V and Mark Henry to run out here. Loved the chaotic finish, good Rumble hype, and I imagine it would be fun to just watch a bunch of guys run out, just to turn around and start hitting each other.
The Rumble of Royals The Royal Rumble. The first ever HD show in WWE history. Live from Madison Square Garden. Can't get much bigger than that. Decent opening contest with JBL and Jericho. I appreciated the finish to the match, just seemed to come abrupt, in my opinion. Jericho in the Rumble is good, not too sure that he'll win it though. I do like how he came out in the Rangers Jersey. I like the idea of a tables match, it's a good way to get Punk over without burying Big Daddy V. Good to see Punk retain, as predicted, and I wonder what lies ahead for Punk at Wrestlemania. Ah ha, knew Flair would be taken out. Should set up for a good storyline leading up to No Way Out or Wrestlemania. Perhaps it could be either Shawn or Triple H, and they said they did it so Flair couldn't lose and retire? Just thinking out loud. As crazy as that storyline sounds. Might be may eyes, but it looks like that ECW write up was bigger than the World Heavyweight Championship write up. Never thought I'd see the day. Anyways, back to the match. Teddy Long taking Vickie to the back was a nice touch, to continue the differences between Vickie and Teddy. Nice to see Edge take advantage of the injury and bust out the Edgecator to win the match. I like to see the ECW guys got a segment here, even though realistically speaking none of them have a chance at winning the match. Oh damn, great write up for Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy. You weren't kidding when you said you put a lot of detail into this. Sounded like a great match, and another ace finish with the Super RKO. Keep on the title on Orton until at least Wrestlemania, please. Also, I would like to comment on how I love that you really put detail into everything. Even the video packages. You don't see much of that anymore. More build with the Ric Flair situation is good. Appreciated The Fink showing up to announce the Rumble match. The starting two were alright, hopefully Morrison gets a good showing here. I really liked him back in 07/08. Never enjoyed him as a face. Rumble match was really well written and easy to read. A lot of people have a mess of Rumble match that is hard to follow. Nice appearance from Jim Duggan. I'm glad to see Finlay threw out MVP to continue the feud. Did not expect Bobby Lashley to return! I really hope he has a feud with Mr. Kennedy, as if memory serves me correct Kennedy took him out in the Summer of 2007. I'm alright with Morrison lasting forty five minutes, great showing for him. I predicted a Cena return here, may have been better at number 30, but I'll live. Lance Cade throwing out 'Taker and Michaels? Not sure if I can be that, to be honest. At least this means a push could be coming his way. Great final three with Triple H, John Cena, and Chris Jericho. Great finish with Jericho hanging on and grabbing Cena to toss him out. Not really too keen on Jericho winning it overall, though. I would assume he'd face Orton but I'm not liking the sound of the match. I could see the World Heavyweight Championship changing hands at No Way Out and Jericho challenges for that, though. Disappointed about the lack of Kane in the Rumble. Overall, it was a fantastic pay per view that you busted your ass off on. Great work.

- So happy with Chris Jericho winning the Royal Rumble Match especially after beating JBL earlier on in the night and now Chris Jericho is going on to Mania 24, Jericho is going to the main event but Jericho has his WrestleMania decision to make, which champion will he face? The WWE Champion Randy Orton or the World Heavyweight Champion Edge, quite the decision to make, I hope Jericho jumps shows and he decides to go to Smackdown to face Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. A Jericho/Edge feud would be really great, add in Taker to make it a Triple-Threat at Mania for the World Heavyweight Championship. But then you have Orton, an Orton/Jericho Mania match-up at Mania 24 for the WWE Title would also be great too but then you add in Cena and HHH to make it a Fatal 4-Way at Mania for the WWE Title, that would be even greater
But for No Way Out, will you have the WWE Championship be defended inside the Elimination Chamber? Will you have the World Heavyweight Championship also be defended inside the Chamber as well?
I loved Lashley's surprise return, no one expected him to come back, I didn't either, and I am glad that you brought him back, I wonder will Lashley be a part of the RAW roster? Or will we be a part of the Smackdown roster? Or the ECW roster?
Will you bring back Christian? Will you also bring back The Big Show in your story as well?
Will you also have Ted DiBiase Jr. make his debut in this story as well? Will you also have Kofi Kingston in your story as well?
In all seriousness I am really happy that my man Randy Orton the Viper still walked out the WWE Champion, will you have him change his theme song to Voices by Rev Theory? Turn Orton into a more emotionless viper who is just ice cold, has ice water in his veins, no emotions at all, doesn't care about who he hurts or who he Punts in the skull just as long as he does it and make Orton more dangerous too, someone who is not intimidated by anyone or anything, no fear whatsoever
Hopefully you turn Batista heel in this story as well at some point, have him become his Alter Beast self in terms of having Batista just completely turn his back on the fans, turn on everybody becoming the man he became before he left WWE, someone who was so hated
And I loved how Morrison lasted longer than anyone in this Royal Rumble Match, reminiscent of a young Shawn Michaels in 1995 lasting from #1, even though Morrison didn't win, he showed me a hell of a lot, and I hope you do make him like the next HBK in this story
Jeff Hardy he will never amount to anything here, he just can't seem to grab that brass ring whenever it comes his way, but I hope he does but at some point he can become WWE Champion but not right now

WWE Monday Night RAW - Monday 28th January 2008 - Philadelphia, PA NOW IN HD!Dark Match: Ron Killings def. Rory McAllister @ 4:47 with the Axe Kick.A replay aired from last night's Royal Rumble spectacular, as Jeff Hardy tried to fulfill his life dream by becoming the WWE Champion and beating Randy Orton, but it was not to be in such a gripping environment, as the "Viper" took control of Hardy and then outsmarted Jeff with his own agility, the Super RKO from Orton to Hardy to allow Orton to walk out of Madison Square Garden as the WWE Champion. But meanwhile, it was in the closing moment of the Royal Rumble, and we were down to the three as the returning John Cena, Triple H and Chris Jericho all of the RAW brand were about to possibly win the 2008 Royal Rumble and go straight on to WrestleMania XXIV to challenge for the WWE Championship. Triple H tried to eliminate Y2J just for Jericho to turn it around, eliminating the "Game", and it was all down to the man that had fought another match that night to qualify to this one, and the man that had not been seen since October due to a torn pectoral. Cena and Y2J fought hard, but in the end Jericho came out victorious, and Chris Jericho was going to save the WWE at WrestleMania XXIV! The opening video package for RAW aired, a fully revamped introduction based off of the High-Definition feature now included with every WWE broadcast. We cut to the live Wachovia Arena for Monday Night RAW, as Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler welcomed us to the fallout of the Royal Rumble twenty four hours ago, discussing everything that went down that night. Lillian Garcia stood in the ring, as she happily introduced the winner of the 2008 Royal Rumble match, Chris Jericho! With that, Y2J's countdown hit, a huge pyrotechnics display bringing out Jericho as the fans in Philadelphia were going crazy for the young man from Winnipeg. Jericho stood in the ring before the 'Y2J' chants that managed to drown out J.R. and the King from their commentary duties, Jericho welcoming everybody to Raw is Jericho! The fans popped as Chris Jericho talked about how he made his return to the WWE in November to save everyone, from the people in the back to the people watching at home in High-Definition, to the people in attendance from the boring scene that the company suffered from! Chris Jericho discussed how last night he proved his dedication to rescuing everyone, wrestling not one but two matches and eliminating John Bradshaw Layfield just to get into the Royal Rumble! Jericho continued, telling the story of how he won the Rumble match, but not without giving props to John Cena. Y2J told Cena that maybe next time Jericho can eliminate Cena from the company, eh? That's when the theme of John Cena, hit, the crowd going crazy for the returning Cena to the RAW brand. Cena joined Y2J in the ring, talking about how glad he was to see Chris Jericho back, and that he liked that he won the Royal Rumble match, but the one thing people were talking about last night? Cena returning from his pectoral injury! The same injury that took him out of action for nearly four months, hell he's not even supposed to be back, but he's happy to be back, and he wants to get revenge on Randy Orton for what he did to him! The fans popped as Jericho and Cena continued to be at each others throats about who the biggest shocker going into the Rumble match was. But that's when Randy Orton's theme hit, and the WWE Champion made his way out to the arena to loud boos, the "Viper" standing on the rampway and asking them if they were really arguing over such petty happenings. The fact remains that he's the one that got the job done last night, and left Madison Square Garden with his WWE Championship! Orton discussed how he's already defeated both of them, he's proved his point to John Cena, and if Chris Jericho was to face him at WrestleMania XXIV he can, but just like Jeff Hardy's dream to take his title last night, their dreams will be broken! The crowd booed when suddenly the theme of Mr McMahon hit to a mixed reaction, the Chairman walking out to the rampway and announcing that these three men have a little situation here tonight, which is why he feels it'd be best to clear up a few things. McMahon told Jericho that he had until No Way Out to announce whether he wanted to face the WWE Champion or the World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania XXIV, but as for No Way Out, he wanted to create a little idea for Randy Orton. McMahon revealed how impressed he was with the "Viper" last night, and that this is why he wants to put it to the test as we closed in on WrestleMania...and McMahon went ahead in making an Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship in three weeks at No Way Out! Vince then walked away, as Orton looked angered, Cena smiling at the opportunity of beating Orton's ass in the Chamber! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We cut to the backstage area as William Regal was in his office with Mr McMahon, the RAW General Manager talking to McMahon about the ingenius concept of the Elimination Chamber and how it will surely be a treat to see six men go at it for the top prize in this business. That's when Randy Orton suddenly stormed into the room, the WWE Champion demanding to know what the hell was going on! The "Viper" was furious as he demanded to know why McMahon and Regal had done this to him, if they thought he did so well last night. McMahon simply told Orton that it wasn't his approval at first, but the Board of Directors didn't want to believe in the "Viper", and wanted to see how he handled himself in the Chamber match at No Way Out, just to see if he was WrestleMania worthy! Orton told McMahon that he should have shot the idea dead, because he'd fight any one man at No Way Out, but five? It's insane! Vince told Randy that it'd be good for him, then informing the "Viper" that he was going to be in action tonight; when Orton asked who, Vince simply responded with "John Cena" and the crowd suddenly exploded! Orton looked angry, storming out of the office, McMahon grinning, liking Orton's ruthless aggression. 1) Beth Phoenix def. Maria to retain the WWE Womens Championship @ 3:53The "Glamazon" was very ready for this, to pound away at the girlfriend of Santino Marella, Maria. And Maria was very prepared for this herself, gaining contention to the title three weeks ago on RAW. Maria managed to dropkick Phoenix away in the early moments, a hurricanrana headscissors connecting, but as Maria went for the ten punches in the corner, Phoenix reversed it, a spinebuster connecting! Phoenix pounded away at Maria, simply obliterating her with a gorilla press slam, but when Beth attempted the Glam Slam, Maria cradled just for Beth to kick out at two! Phoenix then set up the cradled suplex to secure the three. The crowd booed as Beth Phoenix celebrated her win to boos, the "Glamazon" though not done yet with Maria. The crowd booed as she locked in a double chickenwing camel clutch, but that ended when Mickie James rushed down to the ring, the former WWE Womens Champion herself making the save for Maria with a clothesline to Phoenix followed up with an attempted Mickie DDT, Beth quickly leaving as Mickie aided to Maria. We went to the backstage area where Jeff Hardy was shown with Todd Grisham, Grisham wanting to catch a few words with the "Charismatic Enigma" after he failed to win the WWE Championship last night at the Royal Rumble match. Jeff simply told Todd that he came so close to winning the title, and even Randy Orton cannot deny that. Hardy continued, stating that he's heard about No Way Out, and the Elimination Chamber, which is why tonight he'll have the pleasure of taking part in qualifying, because he knows that in this dangerous, unforgiving steel, chained Elimination Chamber environment, Hardy can take the WWE Championship once and for all! Hardy walked away, remaining optimistic. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting the encore presentation of last night's Royal Rumble event. We returned to RAW as Maria was helped to the backstage area by Mickie James and a referee, Santino Marella being spotted with Carlito as Mickie demanded to know where Santino was when Beth Phoenix was beating down on his girlfriend, Maria! Maria told Mickie to calm down, but Mickie wouldn't stop, telling Santino that she thought he was a careless man that was all in it for the sex from Maria, and the popularity, but he was spineless on the inside! Marella denied this, stating that he was in the middle of a game of "The Rock, pepperoni and scissors with Carlito before their upcoming match. Mickie looked disgusted as she stormed off, Maria being helped down onto a chair, Marella apologizing, then shifting his foot up and down the floor, Marella asking Carlito if he wanted to go and warm up more with The Rock, pepperoni and scissors somewhere else. Carlito agreed, and Maria was left alone in a mess. 2) Umaga def. Jim Duggan to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match @ 1:56The "Samoan Bulldozer" proved to be impressive last night in the Royal Rumble, however Umaga only lasted around nine minutes and only managed to eliminate one superstar in the match before being tossed out by Batista from SmackDown. However, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan was also moderately impressive in the Royal Rumble match as well, the 1988 Royal Rumble winner taking it to several superstars in that match before being thrown out. But with Umaga it was a different story, as Umaga tossed Duggan around and splashed him in the corner, Umaga with the Samoan Spike and managing to secure the victory with great ease! The crowd booed furiously as Umaga stood tall over "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, the "Samoan Bulldozer" being the first challenger in the Elimination Chamber match in two weeks, Umaga going on with five others to face Randy Orton inside the hallowed steel at No Way Out. A graphic then aired, promoting the Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out, as Randy Orton will defend the WWE Championship against Umaga and four others in three weeks! We then cut to see Jeff Hardy walking down a corridor whilst John Bradshaw Layfield walked down another one, and up next we would see our second of two Elimination Chamber qualifying matches tonight, the winner advancing to No Way Out, next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |In the backstage area we cut to Todd Grisham who was standing by with the man that returned to action last night at the Royal Rumble, John Cena! Cena got a ruckus ovation as John was asked for how it came about for him to return to the ring. Cena talked about the will power it was to stay out of the spotlight for those four months, and he was even thinking about not returning for another year! Cena stated that he loves the fans no matter their opinion of him, and if it wasn't for Randy Orton taking him out of action in an unsanctioned fashion, he'd still be the WWE Champion! Cena continued, stating that tonight, after four months, these fans would see what they should have expected four months ago in the Last Man Standing match; John Cena beating the holy hell out of Randy Orton! The fans cheered, Cena claiming retribution. 3) Jeff Hardy def. John Bradshaw Layfield to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match @ 7:11This was a back and forth match as the "Charismatic Enigma" wanted to avenge his loss from last night at the Royal Rumble to Randy Orton, and once again regain his position in the WWE Championship ranks; but John Bradshaw Layfield wanted in that match as well, having been on the losing edge since his return to RAW, losing to Chris Jericho last night at the Royal Rumble and thus being denied entrance to the Rumble match. JBL took Hardy down as the match began, the full moveset, as JBL just punished Hardy with chops, clenched fists, big boots and fallaway slams, but when Layfield went for a powerbomb, Hardy fired back with a hurricanrana, Hardy with a Twist of Fate just for Layfield to kick out at two! Hardy went for another but JBL kicked Jeff in the gut and swung for the Clothesline From Hell, Hardy with a rolling clutch and scoring the upset victory! The fans cheered as Jeff Hardy rolled out of the ring in victory, John Bradshaw Layfield in indefinite shock as JBL had once again fallen to losing tonight on RAW! JBL was over frustrated in the ring, delivering a huge right hand to the referee as Jeff's hand was raised in victory on the aisleway, Hardy being added to the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship in three weeks. An advertisement aired, promoting WWE No Way Out, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, February 17th 2008 from Las Vegas, Nevada. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |4) Carlito and Santino Marella def. Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes in a non-title match @ 4:45This was a non-title match, as Cody Rhodes and Santino Marella were the only two participants from this match that took part in the Royal Rumble match last night, Santino only managing to qualify from defeating Hardcore Holly for the spot two weeks ago on Monday Night RAW. Carlito started off with Holly, the veteran pounding away at the Caribbean just for Carlito to poke Holly in the eye, tagging in Santino. Marella tried to follow up with several snap jabs, but he was caught dead in his tracks as Holly knocked him down with a clothesline! Cody Rhodes then got the tag as Rhodes came in, hot head of steam as he took Marella down repeatedly, Carlito then coming in from behind and pounding back at Cody, Marella with a dropkick stunning Rhodes and Carlito nailed the Backstabber to pick up the win! Carlito and Santino Marella celebrated their win as Hardcore Holly remained down on the apron, but this new out-of-nowhere tag team had just picked up a win over the World Tag Team Champions, and Hardcore Holly sure wasn't happy about it as he attended to the fallen Cody Rhodes. Mr Kennedy was shown standing in the backstage area to a loud chorus of boos as the WWE Intercontinental Champion was stood next to Mike Adamle, Adamle introducing Kennedy as the "Intercottonettle Champion", Adamle asking Kennedy for his thoughts on how the Royal Rumble match went, and what his strategy is tonight against Triple H. Kennedy simply took the microphone out of Adamle's hands, talking about how he didn't seem too appreciated by the RAW locker room, and he can see why, he's a walking, talking bunghole that thinks he's better than everybody! And the sad truth is, it's entirely true. Kennedy talked about how he had done so well in last night's match, he could have won it had it not been for that damned Shawn Michaels. Kennedy continued, stating that tonight onwards to the Road to WrestleMania XXIV was going to be a rocky one, as he was going to put it all on the line out there every single night like he has done since the start of his career, and that tonight, Triple H was going to go down for the count, and Kennedy would be WWE Champion walking out of the Elimination Chamber. Kennedy asked Adamle why that is, revealing himself as 'Misteeeeerrrrrrrr Kennedyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy". Kennedy headed out for the ring as he was in action with the "Cerebral Assassin" next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |The theme of Triple H hit, and out came the man himself, the "Cerebral Assassin" making his way down to the ring walking with a purpose, and the fans exploded as the third place finalist in the Royal Rumble match last night made his way down to the ring, spitting the water into the air and then taking a microphone as a 'Triple H' chant started. Hunter discussed the events of last night, that he didn't know which was worse, the bad handling of management around here, the guy thinking he was a reptile as the WWE Champion, the fact that his best friend and mentor Ric Flair was bloodied and beaten backstage last night with no security evidence of the occurrence, or the fact that he had not won the Royal Rumble match for his mentor, the "Nature Boy". Triple H then talked about how Shawn Michaels was on an arena-wide search in the Wachovia Center tonight, and that they were on the lookout for possible attackers of the legend, Ric Flair. Suddenly, the theme of Mr Kennedy cut him off, as the WWE Intercontinental Champion came down to the ring wasting no time in this one. 5) Triple H def. Mr Kennedy in a non-title match to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match @ 12:27The "Game" clotheslined Mr Kennedy as he tried to introduce himself, and Triple H was all over Mr Kennedy, the "Cerebral Assassin" in such an aggressive mood ever since his mentor Ric Flair was taken out of the Royal Rumble match before even getting in the ring, assaulted backstage and taken away on an ambulance instead. Mr Kennedy managed to fire back however, ducking a right hand and delivering a chop block to the previously torn quadriceps of Triple H, Kennedy stomping away at it and keeping the "Game" down. Kennedy delivered a backdrop and started choking away at Triple H as well, the WWE Intercontinental Champion following up with a mock spinebuster, then exaggerating Triple H's muscle flexing and crotch chop to loud boos. | COMMERCIAL BREAK | Kennedy continued to work over the leg of Triple H, applying a figure-four leglock to add insult to injury, Triple H locked in his own incapacitated mentor's hold! But Hunter managed to flip it over, and Hunter fired back with a spinebuster of his own, the running high knee and the facebuster connecting! Triple H went for the Pedigree, but Kennedy broke free and went for a Mic Check, and that's when Lance Cade came down to ringside wearing a shirt reading "ELIMINATED HBK AND TAKER, 2K8" on the front and "LANCE CADE" on the back! Cade had no business at ringside, and Hunter sent Kennedy right into Cade, the Pedigree connecting to Kennedy for the win! The crowd cheered loudly as Lance Cade remained down at ringside, wondering what the hell had happened, whilst Mr Kennedy remained down in the ring, Triple H celebrating on the second turnbuckle before heading for the backstage area to a great ovation, the "Cerebral Assassin" to be added to a master of the crafts, the Elimination Chamber match with Randy Orton, Umaga and Jeff Hardy! Hunter had left as the WWE Intercontinental Champion stood up, yelling at Lance Cade as he stood at ringside, Kennedy irate that the former World Tag Team Champion had gotten involved and cost him this match! But suddenly the theme of Bobby Lashley hit, and out ran the former ECW World Champion, Lashley running around ringside and taking Cade's head off with a Spear! Kennedy looked scared as Lashley climbed into the ring, this big man furious at Kennedy! Lashley invited Kennedy back into the ring to play, and the IC champ accepted, Kennedy with several right hands but Lashley easily overpowered him, several shoulder thrusts connecting in the corner! Lashley followed up with a big back body drop, then taking Kennedy down with the Spear, and Lashley had seemingly gotten revenge for Kennedy injuring him back in July. Lashley received a positive response as he picked up the Intercontinental Championship, draping it over Kennedy's carcass before leaving. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We returned to Monday Night RAW to see Shawn Michaels meeting up with Triple H in the backstage area, the "Game" asking the "Heartbreak Kid" if he had seen anyone that looked suspicious. HBK stated that he had not, but that's when Triple H announced 'Operation DX: Interrogate All Superstars" to take place next week. Shawn nodded, then asking Hunter to also have his back next week in his Elimination Chamber qualifying match. Triple H chuckled, stating that HBK was really competitive when it came to the WWE Championship. Hunter then looked Shawn in the eyes and said that so did he. Randy Orton was shown warming up in the backstage area, warming up for his upcoming match with John Cena, four months in the making as the "Viper" seemed set on ending Cena and Orton's rivalry once and for all tonight. But that's when William Regal appeared, telling Orton not to tell Vince McMahon he was here, because the Chairman had left and he wanted Orton to know that this main event match wasn't for the WWE Championship and would be held under Unsanctioned Rules. Orton smirked, telling Regal that that may have made his night, but giving Cena another RKO on the announce table may make his night truly. An advertisement aired for Friday Night SmackDown this week, to be the first ever episode shown in High Definition, and what better way to kick things off than with a Royal Rumble rematch as Edge defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Rey Mysterio! All of this and more this Friday night on The CW from 7/8 CT. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |6) Randy Orton vs John Cena in an Unsanctioned match; no contest @ 7:29This match was furious, as Randy Orton made his way out to the rampway for his entrance just for John Cena to jump him, the former WWE Champion with pounding blows down on Orton and Cena seemed to be larger than what he was the last time we saw him unconscious on the announce table four months ago! The "Viper" tried to hide from the "Champ", Cena with a belly to back suplex right on the floor at ringside! Cena was relentless, no referee here, the last man to leave the arena supposedly chosen to be the victor, as Orton was thrown into the ring by Cena, Cena off of the ropes just to take a huge powerslam from Orton! Orton pounded away at Cena before tossing him to the ringside area, a steel chair cracking Cena in the skull! Orton delivered a chair shot to the spine next, then sending Cena shoulder first into the steel steps, almost on that previously torn pectoral muscle! Orton tried to give Cena a DDT on the steps, but Cena reversed it, a backdrop connecting instead on Orton! Cena got Orton up for the FU but Orton got down, the two trading their brawl around ringside and both men used the steel chair; Orton bleeding from the forehead! Cena was cut open with a steel steps shot to the head too, but Cena kept fighting, and when Orton went to throw Cena onto the announce table, Cena switched it and delivered an FU to the WWE Champion through the announce table! Orton was unconscious and not moving whilst blood trickled down his face, Cena dazed, and Cena desperately wanted that WWE Championship belt back!
And I love how you have stacked the deck against Orton but I already have faith in my man that he will retain his WWE Championship inside the Elimination Chamber, and Orton is already complaining about the fact that he even has to be in the match-up
Lance Cade after eliminating Taker and HBK the night before in the Rumble match, Cade can basically make his career and he was at ringside during HHH's match, I wonder why he was even out there, does Lance have a thing now about going after big name superstars trying to make a name for himself at their expense, first it was HBK & Taker and now he is trying to do it to HHH, something tells me that Cade is going to get a huge push and if he is, then that is great
Now we know the men who have qualified for the Elimination Chamber, it will be WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Umaga vs. Jeff Hardy vs. HHH vs. the other 2 men who are still to be determined in this Chamber match
Lashley is back on RAW and he attacks the man who put him out of action in the first place, Mr. Kennedy, I just hope you make Lashley a main eventer on RAW or in the 2008 WWE Draft he gets drafted over to Smackdown
Who did attack Flair, is right? I think it was either Regal or Vince or in a shocking twist imagine if it was HBK, that would definitely turn Michaels heel, and I would love to see a Heel HBK but if it wasn't him, I hope it was Batista who did it because it would turn Batista heel for sure or perhaps it was Lance Cade who did this to Flair or it was John Cena maybe or even Edge
Or perhaps it was someone who is making their return to WWE and they could have been the one to attack Ric Flair, perhaps Kurt Angle or even Booker T or even Kevin Nash
I hope Rhodes and Holly lose their titles and then we get to see Cody turn heel on Holly

The Raw after the Royal Rumble is always a good one. A good opening segment and I look forward to the Elimination Chamber Match, I see Orton retaining either way, however. Randy Orton versus John Cena is huge. Very happy to see Beth Phoenix defeat Maria, I hated Maria. Mickie James for the save is good, I always liked the Phoenix/James feud. An obvious victory for Umaga here over 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan. I always felt that Umaga was a future WWE Champion for sure, I'd love to see it happen in this diary. Pleased to see Jeff Hardy win here and go to the Elimination Chamber, JBL is on a bit of a downfall lately though. A good victory for Santino Marella and Carlito, although I was a fan of Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes, but Cody definitely needs to go heel soon. Seeing Mr. Kennedy as the Intercontinental Champion in this diary makes me happy. Truple H over Mr. Kennedy makes sense and I did like the Lance Cade involvement. Brilliant way to end Raw with John Cena standing tall over Randy Orton, bloody and all. Another good show.

ECW on Sci-Fi - Tuesday 29th January 2008 - Reading, PA NOW IN HD!A replay from the Royal Rumble aired, as forty-eight hours ago CM Punk and Big Daddy V put it all up for grabs in a Tables match for the ECW World Championship. If CM Punk lost, he would never receive another title shot, whereas if Big Daddy lost, Punk would finally repossess the ECW World Championship belt from Matt Striker and V. It was back and forth, swayed by V's monstrous behavior, torturing Punk rather than going for the win. Matt Striker also got involved, but in the end it was Punk who reversed a superplex from V through the table into a bulldog, to finally secure the ECW World Championship. The new opening video package for ECW on Sci-Fi aired, promoting the new High-Definition system that all WWE programming has taken on. We then cut to the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania where pyrotechnics went off, and Joey Styles and Tazz introduced us to the first ECW on Sci-Fi following the Royal Rumble, forty-eight hours separated from the extravaganza in the Garden! They promoted Tommy Dreamer and Stevie Richards taking on Mike Knox and Kevin Thorn as well as a Last Chance match for Big Daddy V, as he does battle with CM Punk in a Steel-Cage match for the ECW World Championship! The theme of the "Shaman of Sexy" hit to kick off ECW on Sci-Fi this week, the WWE Tag Team Champions making their way confidently down to the ring as John Morrison and The Miz did a damn good job of sticking in the Royal Rumble match this past Sunday night, even exchanging blows with the legendary tag team of DX at one point. The crowd met Morrison and Miz with loud boos, as Miz told everybody to show some respect for the fastest rising tag team in ECW history, causing the Reading crowd to get more rowdy. John Morrison then took the microphone and talked about how Miz and Morrison's impressive talents increased in the Rumble match on Sunday night, as Miz and Morrison mixed it up with Triple H and Shawn Michaels, and on a more interesting note, Morrison managed to surpass the "Heartbreak Kid"s record of sticking in the Rumble match for longer than he did in 1995, because Morrison was in that match for fifty-five minutes before being eliminated, and he could have easily won and gone on to face the WWE Champion, Randy Orton or the World Heavyweight Champion, Edge at WrestleMania XXIV! But instead he wanted to prove his purpose as part of the most entertaining tag teams in ECW history, and that's saying a lot compared to past tag team nightmares from ECW, such as the Pitbulls, #1 and #2; the Chair Swinging Freaks, Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney; the Impact Players, Lance Storm and Justin Credible; and more importantly, the Dudley Family! The crowd booed as images of each team showed up on the HD Tron, Miz talking about how successful they were, and because of that, they're feeling generous tonight, and this is why they're offering a Fifteen Minutes of Fame competition to any daring team out there to take their chance with the WWE Tag Team Champions! 1) John Morrison and The Miz def. Chuck Palumbo and Jamie Noble (w/Michelle McCool) in a Fifteen Minutes of Fame match @ 6:24The ever unlikely combination of Chuck Palumbo and Jamie Noble accepted the challenge of John Morrison and the Miz, as the "Tuesday Night Delight" was in a good mood as was the "Chick Magnet", Miz and Noble starting off, and Noble outwrestled Miz with ease, the two exchanging moves in a fast-paced encounter, before Chuck Palumbo got the tag and the tough biker from SmackDown immediately started to power Miz around, Morrison also receiving several lefts and rights in the corner for good measures. But this time Palumbo was isolated as his girlfriend Michelle McCool cheered him on, Miz and Morrison using their unorthodox collection of double-team moves to keep Palumbo down on the canvas as Morrison nailed his amazing standing shooting star press on Palumbo at one point, just for Palumbo to power out. Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin came out to observe from the rampway at one point, the "Elijah Experience" and the "Gold Standard" having a run in prior to the Royal Rumble match, claiming they were better than the WWE Tag Team Champions. Noble went on the defensive off of the hot tag, but it was cut short as Miz low blowed him behind the referee's back, the Reality Check giving Miz the three count! The crowd booed as John Morrison and The Miz rolled out of the ring, Chuck Palumbo attending to Jamie Noble with Michelle McCool, whilst the WWE Tag Team Champions celebrated up the aisle and rampway, passing Shelton Benjamin and Elijah Burke confidently bragging as Burke and Benjamin simply smirked it off. We then cut to the backstage area where Kelly Kelly was shown getting her make-up done, totally dressed up for a hot night here in Reading, Pennsylvania, but would the clothes still be on her back in a few moments, as she faces her former Extreme Exposé partner, Layla in a Bra and Panties match to settle the score, next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |The limousine of John Bradshaw Layfield pulled up outside of the Sovereign Center here in Reading, Pennsylvania, an odd appearance from the "Wrestling God" here on ECW tonight, as John Layfield stepped out of the limousine and began to make his way into the arena, just why is JBL here? 2) Kelly Kelly def. Layla in a Bra and Panties match (Balls Mahoney as the Special Guest Referee) @ 1:34This may seem like it was a filler of a match, but it was in fact the climax of the former Extreme Exposé member's rivalry, as Kelly Kelly fought well against Layla, Layla getting in a cheap shot on the beautiful blonde, Layla driving her knee into the back of Kelly's neck as her head drove into the second ring rope, Layla proceeding to rip the shirt right off of Kelly. It didn't look good as Layla went to rip the pants off of Kelly, but Kelly fought back as Layla had one leg of her pants ripped off, Kelly fighting back with a bulldog followed by a momentous fameasser! Kelly ripped the bottoms off of Layla, and as Layla tried to run away, Kelly chased her and pulled the shirt off over her head to pick up the victory! The fans cheered as Layla was left standing humiliated in her bra and panties, rolling out of the ring and running up the rampway in shame, whilst Kelly Kelly celebrated with Layla's clothes hanging around her neck like a scarf! Kelly had bettered her former Extreme Exposé partner, her hand raised by Balls Mahoney. We went to the backstage area as John Bradshaw Layfield was waiting in line to give the event security staff his ticket to get into the show, but as Layfield went to pull it out, JBL sucker punched the security! Layfield asked the knocked out staff member if he knew who he was, calling himself a "Wrestling God" before continuing to his front row seat in the arena. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |3) Kevin Thorn and Mike Knox def. Tommy Dreamer and Stevie Richards (w/Colin Delaney) @ 5:48This match was built off of last Tuesday night on ECW on Sci-Fi, Kevin Thorn and Mike Knox having been bullying Colin Delaney in recent weeks before Tommy Dreamer decided to make a stand, the "Innovator of Violence" assisting Delaney in the battle. Stevie Richards joined the ECW Original and the rookie last Tuesday, bringing on this match. Thorn and Knox continued to refuse their alliance's purpose, as Knox started off with Dreamer, pounding away at Dreamer and double-teaming Tommy with Kevin Thorn. The vampire applied an abdominal stretch on Dreamer, the ECW Original kept away from his corner, as Stevie got the crowd going, and Thorn eventually broke the hold, going for the Crucifix instead, but Dreamer backdropped Thorn, the DDT connecting and Dreamer got the tag to Stevie! Richards met the legal man, Knox in the centre and stunned him several times before suddenly running right into the Knox Out, giving Knox the win! The crowd booed as Kevin Thorn and Mike Knox stood tall over Stevie Richards, Tommy Dreamer then climbing into the ring with his singapore cane but Knox blocked it, the big boot taking the ECW Original down! Thorn delivered the Crucifix to Dreamer until Colin Delaney climbed into the ring, singapore cane in hand and he ran at Knox just to get taken out by a singapore cane shot from Thorn! Thorn and Knox stood dominantly before leaving. In the backstage area we see Big Daddy V with Matt Striker, as Eve Torres asked V about how he felt forty-eight hours ago when CM Punk managed to beat him to repossess his previously stolen ECW World Championship match. Striker assured Eve that CM Punk had a lucky fluke, and that Big Daddy V was second from winning the title, he was just taking his time. Big Daddy V spoke about how he is the "Mastodon", and called it for a reason, and tonight in his Last Chance opportunity for the ECW title, he will cause harm to CM Punk. The champ is in harm's way and he would suffer worse for defeating him at the Royal Rumble in tonight's Steel-Cage match and leave Reading, Pennsylvania on a stretcher! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |John Bradshaw Layfield was shown from behind looking around, as Josh Mathews tried to approach the "Wrestling God", but as he asked JBL why he was here tonight, Layfield stood up and shoved Mathews down on his ass! Layfield clearly wanted to be left alone! 4) Kofi Kingston def. Nick Berk @ 2:34This was the second time we have seen Kofi Kingston in action here on ECW on Sci-Fi, as the "Jamaican Sensation" got off to a great start last week on this programme, defeating one-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, The Miz in his debut. Tonight he fought Nick Berk, a larger enhancement talent training in Florica Championship Wrestling, and Kofi showed off his abilities, some stiff kicks connecting as well as a springboard onto the top rope into a splash, amazingly. Kingston nailed a diving crossbody shortly after, clapping his hands and delivering a stalling legdrop known to the announcers as the "Boom Drop", Kofi finishing Berk off with the S.O.S. (STO roll-up) for his second win! Kofi Kingston celebrated his win as the fans were really catching fire to this young, Jamaican star. Kingston clapped his hands with fans in the front row as John Bradshaw Layfield simply put his head in his hands and shook his head at the "Jamaican Sensation". We cut to the backstage area again, where Armando Estrada was shown talking to the ECW World Champion, the "Straight Edge Superstar" telling the ECW General Manager that he wouldn't want to face Big Daddy V again after tonight, noting that his ribs still weren't one-hundred percent, especially after the Tables match last weekend. Estrada simply wished Punk luck out there in his match, then smiling suspiciously. An advertisement aired, promoting WWE No Way Out, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, February 17th 2008 from Las Vegas, Nevada. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |The RAW Rebound aired, recapping last night where Chris Jericho came out to celebrate his Royal Rumble victory, only to be interrupted by the returning John Cena. The two argued before Randy Orton then came out, all three discussing who had the more memorable moment at the 2008 Royal Rumble forty-eight hours ago. Mr McMahon then came out and made a match between John Cena and Randy Orton for tonight, Elimination Chamber match for No Way Out for Orton's WWE Championship, and giving Y2J until No Way Out to decide which championship he wanted to challenge for. Throughout the night, Triple H, Jeff Hardy and Umaga all managed to qualify for the Chamber match, whilst Cena and Orton's match turned into a chaotic Unsanctioned match, Cena getting revenge on Orton for taking him out four months ago with the FU through the announce table. 5) CM Punk def. Big Daddy V (w/Matt Striker) to retain the ECW World Championship in a Steel-Cage match @ 8:38This was a lot like their Royal Rumble encounter, as the ECW World Champion still had his bruised ribs hollering him badly, and Big Daddy V acted a lot meaner than he was two days prior in the Tables match at the Royal Rumble. Punk got in several stiff shots on Big Daddy V, the "Straight Edge Superstar" even giving V a hurricanrana into the steel cage wall at one point. The "Mastodon" then cut Punk's momentum in half with a huge clothesline, continuing to pound away at the forehead of Punk until he started gashing out a cut. Punk was bleeding, as V once again decided to toy with the "Straight Edge Superstar", Matt Striker looking on in confidence. Big Daddy V had Punk in a bear hug, but every time the official went to count Punk out and declare V the winner, Punk made a comeback. Punk finally broke free, a dropkick to Big Daddy V stunning him into the corner, and CM Punk continued with the step-up knee in the corner, bulldog following! Punk then tried to apply the Anaconda Vise, but V was too big and strong for Punk, a headbutt instead to the champ! The challenger then bounced off of the ropes for the big splash, Punk dodging it! Punk tried to reach his feet as V returned to his, Punk with a chop, a fistfight starting until V suddenly delivered the Ghetto Drop to Punk! That's when a gong hit, and the lights went out, V getting ready instead for the appearance of the Undertaker, but when they returned, Kane was at ringside, with Striker by the throat! Punk slowly returned to his feet, a dropkick sending V into the cage, and Punk followed up with the enzuigiri taking V down face first to the canvas! Punk climbed out through the door to secure the win! CM Punk celebrated his win to a huge ovation, as Kane laughed maniacally, dropping Matt Striker and leaving, and the ECW World Champion celebrated at ringside, the official handing him his well-deserved ECW World Championship belt. Punk had finally ridden himself of the "Mastodon" Big Daddy V with help from the Undertaker, but that's when John Bradshaw Layfield with his leather belt grabbed Punk from behind, JBL dragging Punk into the front row with him, choking the ECW World Champion! Layfield followed up with a steel chair shot to the spine of Punk, and the RAW superstar was standing tall as ECW on Sci-Fi went off the air!

- JBL on ECW, I hope JBL becomes a part of the ECW roster and he feuds with Punk over the ECW Championship because I know with JBL on this brand he would be able to carry ECW just like how he did with Smackdown back in 2005 when he was the longest-reigning WWE Champion in Smackdown history and with him on ECW he would make a great ECW Champion that is for sure
- You know Jericho he actually can choose the ECW Championship to compete for at Mania, since Jericho has 3 choices either the WWE Championship, the World Heavyweight Championship, or the ECW Championship
- I love how Kofi has made his impact on ECW
- Please break up Miz and Morrison, I want to see them break up like how The Rockers broke up but instead do it in reverse and have Morrison be the one to turn on Miz

Raw - Nice way to open up the show with the Rumble winner Chris Jericho & John Cena, the interaction between them is cool and I possibly think we may be heading to a triple threat match at Mania. My man Randy Orton interrupting them is great but he should come out to "Ice, Ice Baby" because he has ice running through his veins, he should also grab some babies from the crowd and punt them in the skull and he should be renamed "The Honey Badger" because he doesn't give a crap when he does it.
Anyway more seriously using the elimination chamber as in real life is cool, I always like how you take care of the little things, the one line of Regal sucking up to McMahon for example brought a laugh out of me, no one goes into as much detail as you with things and it really pays off. Orton/Cena should be a good main event. I'm not really a fan of Phoenix/Maria being the opening match but it was fine for what it was to get over Phoenix as dominant, Mickie making the save is fine too. Hardy segment was fine it seems like you are building towards a series of near misses. The Carlito/Marella segment was passable, I'm still not 100% sure if I buy into this teaming but I'll wait to see how it passes. Duggan was never a realistic chance so it was kind of a meh qualifying match, Umaga in the chamber is good though. JBL/Hardy was a good qualifying match as is Hardy going over, a pissed off JBL could be interesting as well. Again still not 100% sure of the oddball pairing. Kennedy promo was really well written, as was the Triple H one, I hope it's not H or HBK as the attacker but it seems like it's heading down the latter right now. Triple H/Kennedy was a good match to qualify for the chamber, didn't bury Kennedy whilst getting Triple H the win. Lashley returning and continuing his feud with Kennedy is great, looking forward to it. Cena/Orton was a good main event and a nice brawl to end the show, Cena laying out Orton to end it is good.
Overall another solid show, with some nice storylines progressing on the road to Wrestlemania. I'll reply to ECW at a later time when I get more.

ECW: John Morrison's promo talking about his Rumble run to open the show was good, I'm smelling a possible Miz & Morrison/DX feud at some point which should be great. Probably would've preferred if you compared Miz & Morrison to WWF/E teams since ECW was more of an extension of that then an extension of the old ECW and most probably wouldn't even know these teams. Fifteen minutes of fame was good and Noble/Palumbo are a fine choice of foes, the interaction with Shelton/Burke was interesting as well, looking forward to seeing where that leads. Kelly/Layla was what it was, expected some more Balls involvement in there to be honest. Loved the JBL ticket segment. I'm not really invested in the Thorn/Knox/Dreamer/Richards/Delaney stuff yet. Big Daddy V/Matt Striker interview was good to hype up the cage match. Another decent win for Kofi liked JBL shaking his head at it, Estrada/Punk segment was nice wonder what Estrada has planned. Punk/V cage match main event was good and well written. Finish was nice, hopefully Undertaker/Kane going after V and possible Henry is only a temporary thing, a Kane/Henry feud wouldn't be too bad also. I don't know how I feel about JBL on ECW feuding with CM Punk, JBL seems above the ECW brand at the moment. On the other hand I really like the idea of a Punk/JBL feud, so I'm kind of conflicted.
Overall a real good ECW, I'm starting to get really invested in what you are presenting on the road to Wrestlemania.

WWE SmackDown! - Friday 1st February 2008 - Reading, Pennsylvania Dark Match: Deuce and Cherry def. Kenny Dykstra and Victoria @ 4:10 after the Crack 'Em In Da Mouth.A replay from the Royal Rumble aired, as it recapped highlights from the Edge and Rey Mysterio match for the World Heavyweight Championship, and the "Rated R Superstar" came out on top despite all of the challenger's efforts with his injured knee, but his knee was the breaking point, and Edge walked out of the Garden victorious. The new video package for SmackDown aired, and we cut to the new High Definition set for the fallout edition of SmackDown following the Royal Rumble pay-per-view! Pyrotechnics went off, and Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman welcomed us to the show, hyping up Finlay taking on MVP for the WWE United States Championship in a Belfast Brawl, but also the "Big Red Monster" Kane would be taking on Big Daddy V, all tonight.
The crowd immediately booed as the theme of the "Rated R Superstar" Edge hit, and out came the overconfident World Heavyweight Champion, accompanied to the ring by Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Chavo Guerrero and Vickie Guerrero of La Familia. They made their way down to the ring to boos, as Edge began to celebrate his World Heavyweight Championship defense against Rey Mysterio last Sunday, the cocky champion announcing how he did what he said he would do, and squashed the Spanish flea. Edge talked about how he kept clubbing and clubbing at the knee of Mysterio like a ring general, because that's the kind of champion he is! Vickie Guerrero then reminded everybody that Rey Mysterio wasn't here tonight, because he was taken out by her man, Edge for the World title last Sunday. This brought louder boos as Edge then went on to discuss the Road to WrestleMania XXIV, and how Edge was set on retaining the World title on March 30th and marking himself down in the history books as one of the greatest performers to compete at WrestleMania, even if Chris Jericho decides to step over to his world on SmackDown, he will fall, courtesy of the "Rated R Superstar"! The crowd booed loudly, but that's when the theme of Theodore Long hit to a positive response from the Reading crowd!
SmackDown's Assistant General Manager made his way onto the rampway, as Theodore Long announced that Edge had seemingly forgotten about something, and that's No Way Out in two weeks time! Long told Vickie that he did some digging behind her back because of her impartial role as the GM of SmckDown, and so he has declared this man to be the next number one contender to face Edge for the title on February 17th! With that, the theme of the "Animal" Batista hit to loud cheers, and out came the big man, Batista with a huge grin on his face as he then took Long's microphone and talked about how Edge can rant about how he's the champ all he want, how he will reach WrestleMania XXIV as champ, and how he hurt his good friend, Rey Mysterio all he wants, but Edge needs to know that it won't be that way after No Way Out! The fans cheered as La Familia seemed a little upset with Long and Batista, Batista grinning and leaving.
A graphic aired, promoting the fact that WrestleMania XXIV on March 30, 2008 was only 58 days away, live on pay-per-view from Orlando, Florida.

1) Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins def. Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore @ 5:43 This was a decent tag team match to kick off SmackDown in action tonight, as it was time to shine for Edge's followers, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins teaming up in a standard tag team match for the first time since the Major Brothers fiasco. Ryder and Wang Yang started, as Jimmy Wang Yang flew around with some dropkicks and a spinning wheel kick, Curt Hawkins then getting the tag as he came in and started using a stiffer style than Ryder, a knee to the gut and an axe handle across the back before taking Wang Yang down with a clothesline! The Edgeheads double-teamed Wang Yang and kept him away from Moore in the opening moments of this match, as Hawkins and Ryder showed off several Edge-esque tributes, such as his taunts and then following up with a double spear to Wang Yang to loud boos, but Wang Yang managed to kick out. Moore soon got the tag, as he ran in and took out Ryder with a moonsault from the top rope, Moore then looking for the Halo just to miss, and Hawkins and Ryder delivered a double Edgecution to Moore for the win!
The crowd booed as Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins celebrated their win, and they had definitely landed here on SmackDown with an impact against Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore. Moore and Wang Yang as the Edgeheads celebrated their victory.
We go to the backstage area, where Lena Yada was standing by with the WWE United States Champion, Montel Vontavious Porter, MVP. The crowd booed as MVP was asked about his recurring feud with Finlay, and how tonight's Belfast Brawl disables MVP from escaping with the title by count out or disqualification. MVP tells Lena that it wasn't that he couldn't beat Finlay, he just wanted to outsmart the "Fighting Irishman" which is what he did. MVP mentioned that he felt that he was the better man out of the two, and if Theodore Long or Vickie Guerrero wants him to prove it without logically getting himself disqualified or counted out, he would do it. He's the "Player's Choice", and tonight he would put that claim to the test when he beats Finlay in his own match!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
2) Dave Taylor (w/Drew McIntyre and DH Smith def. Festus (w/Jesse) @ 6:10 This was a mismatch at the original sight, as Dave Taylor the British veteran took on the larger man of the countryboys, Festus tonight. Jesse cut an insert promo on Festus before the match, with the hope that he had finally been fixed for competition. As the match began, Dave Taylor was taken down with three clotheslines from the hulked up Festus, Festus then gorilla pressing Taylor over the top rope onto his fellow United Kingdom comrades, DH Smith and Drew McIntyre. Festus then went after all of them with punches flying everywhere, and Jesse joined in as well. But Taylor soon sent Festus into the ring post, Taylor starting to work on the big man's shoulder in the ring with a series of armbar and clubbing forearms to the shoulder. Festus was back in his sedated mode, as Taylor nailed him with the British Suplex giving the UK members the victory!
The crowd booed as Jesse climbed into the ring to attend to Festus, Taylor grabbing Jesse by the shirt and tossing him into DH Smith, as Smith delivered the Running Powerslam to Jesse! Drew McIntyre and Dave Taylor celebrated their win amongst boos, having taken out another tag team here on SmackDown.
Theodore Long was shown in the backstage area to a huge pop, as Long announced that his role as Assistant General Manager of SmackDown has become increased due to Vickie Guerrero's blatant bias of helping La Familia out in the ring, which is why Long is now the Co-General Manager of SmackDown! Long stated that he had a great announcement to reveal to everyone as well, as in two weeks we will see the RAW Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship at No Way Out. But for SmackDown, we will see its very own Elimination Chamber match to determine who goes on to face Edge or Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXIV! And if Chris Jericho chooses to use his WrestleMania opportunity on the World Heavyweight title, that will create a triple threat match! Long states that he will be watching the rest of SmackDown tonight and make the announcement of those involved next Friday on SmackDown!
We go to a corridor backstage, as Finlay and Hornswoggle were shown walking down it, and the "Fighting Irishman" will challenge for the WWE United States Championship once again in the Belfast Brawl, next!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
An advertisement aired, promoting the upcoming WWE pay-per-view, No Way Out, live on Sunday, February 17th 2008 from Las Vegas, Nevada, presented in High-Definition.
3) Montel Vontavious Porter def. Finlay (w/Hornswoggle) to retain the WWE United States Championship in a Belfast Brawl @ 12:23 This was potentially the climax of Finlay's business with Montel Vontavious Porter, as the "Fighting Irishman" started off thunderously clubbing MVP, as Porter was the one eliminated by Finlay in the Royal Rumble match, and so MVP was the one out to get Finlay in exchange. Both men traded blow inside and around the ring, as Finlay sent MVP into the barricade with a snapmare and ripped off the top part of his jumpsuit, some echoing knife-edged chops into the heart of Finlay! MVP went over to get a steel chair when Finlay clotheslined Porter down to the floor, then picking up the chair and slamming it into the spine of MVP. Porter soon changed the swing of things however, as Finlay was sent shoulder first into the steel steps. | COMMERCIAL BREAK | As we returned MVP had Finlay in a submission hold not seen before from MVP, known as the Take-It-To-The Bank, an armtrap crossface perhaps taking Finlay out of the match but the Irishman made a comeback, reversing it into the Celtic Cross finishing maneuver, but MVP slid out and escaped, the two exchanging holds before Porter left the ring, grabbing Finlay's shillelagh from Hornswoggle, shoving him down, just for Finlay to pick MVP up for another Celtic Cross, but MVP clubbed him with the shillelagh, a step-up boot to the face then putting Finlay away for three!
The crowd booed as Montel Vontavious Porter celebrated with Finlay's shillelagh in hand, and the "Fighting Irishman" had been taken out in his own match type with his own signature weapon! MVP was handed his WWE United States Championship as Hornswoggle looked on in sorrow, Porter leaving in victory.
In the backstage area we saw Vickie Guerrero talking to Edge and Chavo Guerrero, as Guerrero told them that Theodore Long has made a match tonight, and she's not particularly happy to announce it. The World Heavyweight Champion asked what it was, as Vickie noted that it was a tag team match with Edge and Chavo taking on Batista and The Undertaker! The crowd popped as Edge looked shocked, annoyed by the main event.
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
The RAW Rebound aired, recapping last night where Chris Jericho came out to celebrate his Royal Rumble victory, only to be interrupted by the returning John Cena.
As we returned to SmackDown, Big Daddy V and Matt Striker were stood in the ring, Striker beginning to talk about how this last week has not been too great for Big Daddy V and Matt Striker. Striker talked about how CM Punk picked up a mere fluke in the Tables match at the Royal Rumble last Sunday, and to top that off the Undertaker's mind games caused Big Daddy V to lose his Last Chance ECW World Championship match in the Cage last Tuesday night on ECW on Sci-Fi! Big Daddy V mentioned that that is what brought them to SmackDown, because they came here to find the Undertaker, and instead they get Kane!? He tells Kane that if he comes out here, he'll whip his ass anyway, but his main concern is getting his hands on the Undertaker. With that, the theme of the "Big Red Monster" hit and out came Kane!
4) Kane def. Big Daddy V by disqualification (w/Matt Striker) @ 6:32 This match wasn't going to be pretty, as it was a battle of the titans, the "Big Red Monster" insulted and previously attacked by Matt Striker's coalition of monsters, but Big Daddy V was his target tonight, Kane hitting the ring and trading blows with V, then cornering him and surprisingly getting V up for the sidewalk slam! Kane in control as V recovered at ringside, but that's where Kane went wrong as he followed V outside and the "Mastodon" struck him with a stiff right hand to the head as Kane was coming through the ropes. V brought the fight back to Kane, delivering an elbow drop, a big splash and then taunting Kane by using a chokeslam on the "Big Red Monster", but Big Daddy V couldn't put Kane away! Kane soon fired back with clotheslines and uppercuts, Big Daddy V sent into the corner, as he went for the Chokeslam on V just for Matt Striker to get on the apron, and Kane knocked him off! But that brought Mark Henry down the rampway, the "World's Strongest Man" taking Kane off of his feet with a huge shoulder block!
The crowd booed as Mark Henry followed up with the attack on Kane, a huge belly-to-back suplex going right through the "Big Red Monster", and Big Daddy V followed up with the big splash! Matt Striker and his giants had destroyed Kane tonight, and there was no sign of the Undertaker anywhere!
We went to the backstage area where the "Animal" Batista was shown with a grin on his face, as Batista was asked by Josh Mathews about his upcoming tag team match with Edge and Chavo Guerrero. Batista first off wished his buddy, Rey Mysterio the best of health with his knee injury and hoped to see him back soon, before going on to talk about retribution, and how he always wanted retribution against Edge after Armageddon last month. But once he gets his hands on Edge, there will be the true meaning of his nickname, the "Animal". Batista then commented on the Undertaker as his tag team partner, mentioning that he wasn't going to let 'Taker get in his way; he may respect the "Deadman", but this is his time to shine. But maybe if the Undertaker wins his Elimination Chamber match and once Batista wins the World Heavyweight Championship, we can see who will be the better man in their WrestleMania 23 rematch at WrestleMania XXIV!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
5) The Great Khali (w/Ranjin Singh) def. Colin Delaney (w/Tommy Dreamer) @ 2:58 This was apparently set up by ECW General Manager Armando Estrada, with the stipulation standing that if Colin Delaney could last three minutes with the Great Khali, he would earn a WWE contract. Delaney was reluctant, but the "Innovator of Violence" cheered him on, as the "Punjabian Giant" tossed Delaney to the outside and then delivered the Khali Chop to the skull of Colin Delaney at ringside! Dreamer however helped Delaney up, and Colin was more enthusiastic, managing to keep dashing in and out of the ring to break the count whilst Khali looked on annoyed; this ended however as Ranjin Singh shoved Delaney into the ring, right into Khali's Vice Grip, and Delaney passed out with two seconds to spare!
The crowd booed as the Great Khali's hand was raised in victory, Ranjin Singh taunting the unconscious Colin Delaney whilst Tommy Dreamer stood at ringside, not very thrilled with Khali and Singh's dirty tactics.
We went to the backstage area where La Familia members, Edge and Chavo Guerrero accompanied by Vickie Guerrero were on their way to the ring for a huge tag team main event with Batista and the Undertaker, right up next!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
6) Batista and The Undertaker def. Chavo Guerrero and Edge (w/Vickie Guerrero @ 13:50 This was our big clash of a main event, as the "Animal" went right off the bat in taking on the "Rated R Superstar", these two men scheduled to meet in two weeks at No Way Out for the World Heavyweight Championship. Edge was taken down by Batista with several big punches and shoulder thrusts in the corner, as well as a sidewalk slam, and Edge immediately backed up to the "Latin Warrior" Chavo Guerrero. Guerrero traded blows with Batista, but once again the "Animal" managed to take Guerrero down, with a huge STO followed up with the spear. Batista taunted to Edge, but Chavo soon fired back with a dropkick to the face followed by a hurricanrana sending Batista into the turnbuckle. That's where Edge was dangerous, pounding away at the head of Batista before choking him out with the ring ropes. Chavo and Edge double-teamed Batista and kept him away from the "Phenom", but Batista eventually clotheslined both La Familia members and tagged in the "Deadman"! The Undertaker entered the ring and took out Edge and Guerrero, a Chokeslam delivered to Chavito! Batista then came in and delivered the Batista Bomb to Edge until the Undertaker shoved Batista away and scooped Chavo up, the Tombstone Piledriver delivering on Guerrero! The crowd cheered as 'Taker got the cover for the win!
The crowd cheered as the Undertaker celebrated his win, Batista looking on at ringside not so pleased. The "Deadman" then pointed at Batista and slit his throat, perhaps signalling that the "Phenom" would be meeting the "Animal" once against in the near future! Edge slid out of the ring with his World Heavyweight Championship, outraged with his loss with Chavo to the two big men! Edge and Vickie Guerrero looked concerned on the rampway as SmackDown went off the air.

Smackdown Review
I loved how Edge cut his promo about beating Rey at the Rumble and that he was being cocky and overconfident only for Vickie to cut in and basically prop Edge as the champion and Edge said that if Jericho chooses to come to Smackdown and join Edge's world, then he will fall too and then Teddy Long interrupting La Familia by telling them that Edge still has to get past No Way Out and then he introduces the next #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, it will be Batista, this should be great
Ryder and Hawkins beating Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore was great
And I love how Dave Taylor beat Festus and I am glad to see Drew McIntyre The Chosen One years early, and how he is being paired up with DH Smith is awesome, DH Smith 3rd generation superstar the son of the late WWE legend The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith & Diana Hart and the grandson of Stu Hart and the nephew of Bret on Smackdown, and he is being paired up with Dave Taylor and Drew McIntyre is awesome. You can have a British stable with Taylor, McIntyre and Smith but then add in Regal for good measure
MVP beating Finlay to retain his WWE United States Championship was awesome, I wonder if MVP will defend his title at No Way Out and if he does, then I hope Matt Hardy makes his return early and he faces MVP for the title with MVP cheating to win at No Way Out only for Matt Hardy to win the title at Mania
Kane beating Big Daddy V by DQ was also great too, I would have thought that Taker would have definitely shown up but he didn't especially when V and Henry attacked his brother Kane
Batista's backstage interview was also great
Batista & Taker beating Edge and Chavo was also great too
And I can't wait until RAW
