I think the news report 'linking' concept is absolutely fantastic. Great work.
I'm a little mixed on the latest RAW. I'm think the focus should be more on Orton, Triple H, Hardy, the WWE Title, the younger guys, rather than Ric Flair and Vince McMahon. However, I do like this feud. I think Flair/McMahon may have served better on pay-per-view (either Royal Rumble or possibly even WrestleMania). I can see big things in Umaga's future too, which makes me extremely interested in this diary.

-Pumped for this New Year's Eve edition. Michaels over Kennedy is a great start with the right result. -Londrick over Highlanders was obvious, those jobbers aren't getting in. Londrick should have a nice effect on RR. -CM Punk winning here was an extreme shock. But I would've loved to see it. -Umaga over Evan Bourne Matt Sydal is the right call too, wonder if Sydal will get a push. Kicking out of the samoan spike is something Ric Flair couldn't do. This guy is going to be big in your diary. -Beth Phoenix and Charlie Haas over Mickie and DH is fine. DH and Haas are two great athletes. They'd have a nice feud. -Ric Flair over Vince McMahon is a great intense way to end RAW for 2007. HHH and Flair ending too is good. -Great show as usual, still you haven't disappointed.

ECW on Sci-Fi - Tuesday 1st January 2008 - Richmond, VA We cut to two weeks ago on ECW on Sci-Fi as Matt Striker and his two towers of destruction, Mark Henry and Big Daddy V in the ring, CM Punk being called out to a match. A stipulation would be made for a match between Punk and Big Daddy V on the New Year's Day edition of ECW, choice of either Striker [if MVP won against Punk later that night] or Punk [if he beat MVP]. Later on, the WWE United States Champion would steal one with help from the evil trio. The three then beat Punk down as ECW went off the air, 'Extreme Rules' spluttered by Striker. The opening video package to ECW on Sci-Fi aired, as we cut to the arena where Joey Styles and Tazz introduced us to the show, promoting the main event. We kick off ECW on Sci-Fi with the WWE Tag Team Champions, John Morrison and The Miz on the way to the ring, as the two got into the ring and the 'Shaman of Sexy' started digging at Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore; calling them the most spontaneous and oddly fitting tag team in the history of unfitting tag teams. Miz listed Stone Cold and Triple H, Shawn Michaels and John Cena & Chris Jericho and The Rock among those as Morrison told us his plans to ruin the commoners dreams tonight in Fifteen Minutes of Fame. 1) Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore def. John Morrison and The Miz in a non-title Fifteen Minutes of Fame challenge @ 12:35The two WWE Tag Team Champions went into this arrogant, as Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore were in here to impress the champs and the ECW audience with their credibility, and their tenacity for a future opportunity at the WWE Tag Team Championships. Needless to say, they quickly vanquished Miz and Morrison and slapped the taste out of their mouths, but Miz and Morrison kept on top of Wang Yang until Moore got the hot tag. The champs were still in control and confident as they watched the time run out on the challengers; Moore suddenly small-packaging Morrison for the three! Shannon Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang quickly evacuated the ring as The Miz raced in, the WWE Tag Team Champions angered as John Morrison and The Miz were just outsmarted by Moore and Wang Yang, now most definitely putting them in contention to the belts! The crowd loved it. We see CM Punk taping up his ribs in the backstage area as the 'Straight Edge Superstar' had endured numerous big splashes by Mark Henry and Big Daddy V, and earned the ability to not defend the ECW World Championship at the Royal Rumble in a hard fought bout with Edge and Randy Orton last night. Punk then turned around to see Armando Estrada as the ECW General Manager informed Punk that he did a great job representing ECW last night, telling Punk he's a fighting champ and that after he beats Big Daddy V he has more contenders to his belt. Punk looked a little angered as Estrada smirked, leaving. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting the release of 'RAW's Greatest Hits: The Music' album. 2) Shelton Benjamin def. Colin Delaney in a Royal Rumble Qualifying match @ 1:02Shelton Benjamin seemed to impress Elijah Burke two weeks ago when he came out and took down the defenseless rookie, Colin Delaney after their match, and so tonight it was Delaney's chance for retribution. So we thought, anyway. Tazz tried talking about how Delaney just needed a little work, and he got in a few shots, but the 'Gold Standard' easily overpowered him and began to pound on him, finishing him with an easy Paydirt for the win. Shelton Benjamin celebrated his win as Elijah Burke came out to the aisleway, merely impressed at how the 'Gold Standard' had finished off Colin Delaney in a few seconds shorter than Burke had done last week. Benjamin smirked as he saw Burke on the aisleway, perhaps jealousy on the way. In the backstage area we see Armando Estrada in his office as Kelly Kelly and Layla were stood far apart, both holding cups. The ECW General Manager required Kelly Kelly to hand over her coffee as he sips it, burning himself instantly. He scolds Kelly for not informing him before asking Layla to hand him hers. Layla told Estrada to mind his lips because she has got him a cup of British tea, with a tiny bit of lipstick on the rim; Estrada smiled, sipping it and applauding Layla. Kelly looked angry. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |A vignette aired, promoting the debut of the Jamaican Sensation, Kofi Kingston. 3) Mike Knox (w/Kevin Thorn) def. Tommy Dreamer (w/Balls Mahoney) @ 4:49This was quite a hard-hitting match as two weeks ago it seemed as though Mike Knox and Kevin Thorn were nearing in demolishing poor ECW original, Nunzio when Tommy Dreamer and Balls Mahoney made the save. This match featured the four men, as Knox wore down the 'Innovator of Violence' with the bearhug, Kevin Thorn soon enough trying to get involved just for Balls to slam him in the spine with a chair! Knox big booted the chair into Balls' face, and Dreamer rolled him up for a near fall. Later in the match, Dreamer tried the DDT but Knox picked him up and nailed a sitout spinebuster for the win. The crowd booed as Mike Knox celebrated the win with Kevin Thorn, Thorn picking Tommy Dreamer up and delivering a big Crucifix Powerbomb! Balls Mahoney then ran in, a steel chair swing missed and Knox nailed him with another big boot! Knox and Thorn stood tall, leaving dominantly. We see Big Daddy V and Matt Striker walk down the corridor, their Extreme Rules ECW World Championship opportunity with CM Punk is next! An graphic aired, promoting John Morrison and The Miz defending the WWE Tag Team Championships next week on the program against Shannon Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang; plus, Shelton Benjamin and Elijah Burke collide! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting the next WWE pay-per-view, the Royal Rumble; live on Sunday 27th January 2008 from New York City. We return to the arena as the crowd booed, Big Daddy V and Matt Striker on their way to the ring, and Striker had a mouthful to say as he grabbed the microphone, talking about how CM Punk has had a great run as ECW World Champion, no doubt about it, but tonight is where the era of Big Daddy V begins! He tells the 'Straight Edge Superstar' to prepare to be crushed by five hundred pounds of V. 4) CM Punk def. Big Daddy V (w/Matt Striker) in an Extreme Rules match to retain the ECW World Championship @ 8:22This was time to put up or shut up for the 'Straight Edge Superstar' as the ECW World Champion came out with bandaged ribs, and he had to deal with the massive Big Daddy V; the number one contender just continuously ploughing his boots into the ribs and teasing for another big splash that could potentially sideline the ECW World Champion. But Punk fought onwards, using steel chairs, trash cans and stopsigns to put Big Daddy V down, grounding him and then refusing to let him back up. Punk soon tried an Anaconda Vise but Striker got involved, Punk then going for him as he nailed Striker with the GTS! Big Daddy V jumped from behind, preparing a Samoan Drop, but Punk slipped out and a chairshot to the head - twice stunned him! Punk nailed a kick to the head before finally knocking him down with a fire extinguisher shot, Punk covering for the three! CM Punk celebrated his win as the 'Straight Edge Superstar' began to celebrate his win in pain, but it stopped when the 'World's Strongest Man' Mark Henry arrived, World's Strongest Slam to the ECW World Champion! Matt Striker swiped the ECW World Championship, Big Daddy V, Matt Striker and Mark Henry leaving with the belt! ECW goes off the air.

-Moore and Yang over Miz and Morrison could give them a title shot. Wonder if they'll win them. -Shelton Benjamin over Colin Delaney was expected as Benjamin is actually a serious threat here. -Knox over Dreamer is the right call. Hope you keep his undefeated streak concept. -Punk over V to retain is great for his reign. I can see Big Daddy taking it though. -Good show; really hope you change your mind and keep this.

- A nice opening promo from JoMo and Miz. Like that they used the comparisons. - Eh. Not that fond of Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore winning, to be honest, unless they are just weak put-over challengers for later. - Squash match for Benjamin here against Delaney. Doubt Benjamin will win the Rumble though; I mean, come on... - Knox defeating Dreamer is good. Like that the newer guys are just beating the shiz out of the veterans. - Alright; we'll have Wang Yang and Moore challenging for the gold next week. Not expecting them to win at all. - Punk retaining against BDV is the best call. Mark Henry too? Extra chocolate sauce?
A good show; would like to see you stay with this, though, Dan.

Don't let this die, man. Don't let the lack of replies deter you, although it's hard at times. As you get a rhythm going the replies begin to roll on.
I thought ECW was a really solid show. I'd honestly forgotten about guys like Colin Delaney and Kevin Thorn, which is a nice blast to the recent past. I like the fact that Big Daddy V in particular is starting to look so strong. I always thought that character had so much potential.
Good start to this, my man. I can see you've put a lot of effort in. You will start to reap the rewards shortly.

Ah, this is a real good time period. I am pretty experienced with this, so I hope you do well. The links are a great concept and definitely different. I'll give you some feedback on ECW and try to reply to this often as I can man.
- WHAT! Wang & Moore get the win over Miz & Morrison? I'm shocked man, absolutely shocked. Even if it was from a small package, still crazy. - Punk angry with more challenges? doesn't seem right since he is certainly a fighting champion. - Squash for Benjamin easily gets him into the Rumble where he belongs man. Typical squash. - Confusing Layla & Kelly segment and strange to cut to commercial after that. - Sounded like a solid match between Knox & Dreamer. Probably nothing pretty or a real wrestling match, but it gets the brawling done. Knox & Thorn are beasts man. - Two good matches coming up next edition. ECW arena should explode. - Thank the lord Punk retained but I don't like how Striker has the belt. Henry/Punk/V feud could be interesting and I wonder what way you take it Dan.

WWE SmackDown! - Friday 4th January 2008 - Richmond, VA Dark Match: Nic Nemeth def. Funaki (3:48) after the side Russian legsweep.A replay from SmackDown! two weeks ago aired, as Edge won the World Heavyweight Championship at Armageddon, defeating Batista and The Undertaker with the assistance of two men we'd later learn on SmackDown, were Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. Batista confronted the growing La Familia, Vickie Guerrero making Batista face Edge and his new Edgehead followers in a handicap match for Batista to challenge for a World Heavyweight Championship rematch at the Royal Rumble. Batista tried his hardest, but after interference from La Familia it was Edge who successfully pinned the "Animal" with ease. Who can stop La Familia!? The opening video package to SmackDown! aired as we cut to the Richmond Coliseum for the first SmackDown! of 2008! Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman introduced us to the show.
The theme of Batista hit to kick off the New Year, as the "Animal" slowly made his way out to the ring not looking too impressed, as Batista took a microphone and talked about how this past few weeks have definitely not been memorable. Not for him, not for the Undertaker for damn sure, and not for the SmackDown! brand. He mentioned how La Familia plan on running a dictatorship, well if Vickie Guerrero wants to protect her boyfriend that much, then he'll have no problem forcing his way through La Familia to get back what is rightfully his! The fans cheered, when suddenly the theme of Edge hit to loud boos, the "Rated R Superstar" making his way out to the rampway, as Edge was accompanied by his girlfriend, the SmackDown! General Manager, Vickie Guerrero, Theodore Long pushing her out. Edge apologized for two weeks ago, for the fact that it was purely what was given to him by Vickie to take Batista out of the World Heavyweight Championship picture. And there is no turning back for the "Animal" to get himself back in the title hunt. But that's when suddenly the theme of Rey Mysterio hit as well! Mysterio made his way out to the ring as he joined Batista in staring off with Edge and Vickie! Mysterio told Edge that Batista should be the next man in line for a shot at that title, and he doesn't find it fair that he's not giving him a one on one shot; so how many Rey Mysterio himself gets a title match! Edge and Vickie thought it over, as Vickie declared that Rey would fight Edge tonight for the World Heavyweight Championship, and if Rey won, he'd have to fight Batista for the World title at the Royal Rumble! Batista and Rey looked at each other, Vickie placing a twist before Rey's eyes, even if he was able to pull off a huge upset over Edge!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
Edge and Vickie Guerrero were shown on their way through the backstage area, as the World Heavyweight Champion seemed reluctant about losing that title to Rey Mysterio, and then Rey losing the belt to Batista; because he definitely didn't think the "Animal" deserved the belt. Vickie told her boyfriend not to worry, because she had an idea of what to do in the worst case scenario.
1) John Morrison and The Miz def. Jesse and Festus in a non-title match @ 6:37 This was a taster for John Morrison and The Miz, as they were defeated by Shannon Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang in their Fifteen Minutes of Fame challenge this past Tuesday night, thus setting up a rematch for the WWE Tag Team Championships this upcoming week on ECW on Sci-Fi. Jesse and Festus got a massive opportunity here too, as Festus ploughed through Miz and Morrison in the opening moments, the "Shaman of Sexy" falling to a fallaway slam and Miz running into the big boot. Festus used Jesse as a missile too, launching him from the top rope at Morrison. Morrison then worked over Jesse, as Miz targeted the shoulder of the smaller hillbilly. Miz was setting up for the Mizard of Oz, but Jesse broke out and tagged in the agitated Festus! Festus ran in and caused some chaos on the champs again, but it took a snap DDT from Miz and then the Moonlight Drive to put Festus away.
John Morrison and The Miz celebrated their win as Miz dragged Jesse in by the hair and gave him the Mizard of Oz to loud boos! The WWE Tag Team Champions from ECW stomped away at Jesse and Festus, before Miz went out for a steel chair, slamming it into the skull of Festus and leaving him unconscious on the canvas! Morrison and Miz were leaving a message for what Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore could expect, in four days time on ECW.
We returned to the backstage area as Montel Vontavious Porter was shown walking quite confidently down the hall, when he was suddenly approached by Finlay. The "Fighting Irishman" got a reaction as he told MVP that he may be the WWE United States Champion, but he didn't think that MVP could beat him. MVP asked the veteran what he wanted, as Finlay demanded a title shot tonight! MVP laughed, as he told Finlay that he simply didn't want him to bust his hip out, or snap his ankle or something. MVP bigged himself up whilst in the ring, and this didn't go down too well for Finlay as he clobbered him with lefts and rights, MVP then tackling Finlay down into a table and stomping on him! MVP cowered away as Finlay was left fuming.
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
We returned to SmackDown! as Chavo Guerrero was shown in Vickie Guerrero's office sat down on the sofa opposite Vickie. Chavo went on to talk about how he was with La Familia all the way, but in all honesty he felt like Vickie's relationship with Edge was tearing the Guerrero Family apart. Vickie told Chavo that she respects his opinion, but she knew he'd say something like this, which is why, on behalf of La Familia, Chavo will face Batista tonight! Chavo looked shocked, as Vickie told Chavo to get out of her office and get ready.
2) Michelle McCool (w/Chuck Palumbo) def. Victoria (w/Kenny Dykstra) @ 3:42 These two divas had a battle for supremacy amongst the Divas on the blue brand, as Michelle McCool was accompanied by her aggressive boyfriend, Chuck Palumbo whereas Kenny Dykstra followed his associate Victoria out to the ring. Victoria had the power advantage, taking McCool down and pounding on her, whilst Kenny continued to get involved distracting McCool so that Victoria could continue to beat down on Michelle. Palumbo continued to sit on his motorcycle at ringside until Jamie Noble suddenly ran down to ringside, taking out the interfering pest, Dykstra! McCool then gave Victoria a move known as the Wings of Love for the win!
Michelle McCool celebrated her win as Jamie Noble looked happy for her, Victoria rolling out of the ring whilst Kenny Dykstra looked angry. Jamie Noble raised McCool's hand until Chuck Palumbo suddenly stepped into the ring, a shoulderbreaker to Noble! The crowd gave Palumbo a mixed reaction as he left with McCool.
Ric Flair was shown walking through the corridors and up next, we will hear from the "Nature Boy"!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
New interviewer Lena Yada was shown backstage as she was standing by with the manager of two monsters, Matt Striker with Big Daddy V and Mark Henry. Lena asked Striker about their attacks on CM Punk recently, and why he orchestrated it and stole the ECW World Championship. Striker stated how it was simple to explain that Big Daddy V was a real champion, not CM Punk. But for some reason management decide to keep authorizing Punk to hold onto that belt. Which is why they are now holders of the ECW title. Big Daddy V told Yada that he refused to relinquish that belt for a Straight Edge, whiny sideshow like CM Punk to hold it. After all, they are the two most dominant men in the WWE today. Mark Henry talked about how he took out the "Big Red Monster" Kane, and that he was only the first of many on his hit list!
The theme of Ric Flair hit to a loud reaction from the Richmond crowd, as the "Nature Boy" slowly strutted his way out to the ring. Flair climbed into the ring and began to speak about how great it was to kick Vince McMahon's ass in the middle of this ring last Monday night on RAW. But what he didn't appreciate was the fact that he brought out so many people to try and end his career once and for all. John Layfield, Umaga; the names go on and on. But Flair said it once, and he said it again, and he will forever say that he will never, ever retire! The fans cheered loudly until the theme of Mark Henry hit, and suddenly the "World's Strongest Man" and Matt Striker both made their way out to the ring! This spelled fear for Flair, as Striker led Mark Henry to the ring and told Flair that he didn't think he knew who he was, but he was going to learn the hard way. Mark told everyone to wait and see, because what Mark saw before him was a dead man. Henry told the fans that what happened to Kane two weeks ago on SmackDown! was only a preview of what to expect out of Ric Flair. Flair asked Henry what he was basically asking for, as Flair told Mark that if he wanted a match, he'd happily challenge him, and while Mark may be big and strong, he will never ever put down the legend of Ric Flair! Flair 'wooed' as Striker seemed amused, Striker telling Flair that it's funny he mentioned that, because they spoke to Vickie Guerrero earlier tonight, and it's settled; Mark Henry vs Ric Flair next week on SmackDown! Flair laughed, as he said that Striker may want Flair to be scared, but he won't be after next Friday. He who laughs last, laughs the loudest, and Flair will prove why he is 'the man'! Flair left confidently as Mark Henry looked even more irritated.
MVP was shown walking confidently through the backstage area, when he was suddenly approached by Todd Grisham, Grisham asking Montel Vontavious Porter for some thoughts about what we saw earlier tonight with Finlay. MVP told Grisham that Finlay wanted a fight, so he gave him one, and the "Fighting Irishman" seemingly wasn't one to fight well. But that's when Finlay suddenly appeared, shillelagh to the head of the WWE United States Champion! Finlay told MVP that he'd see him in that ring next week.
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
3) Batista def. Chavo Guerrero by disqualification @ 4:52 This was thought to be Batista's revenge on Chavo Guerrero, Guerrero the man who cost Batista the opportunity to face Edge at the Royal Rumble two weeks ago. Chavo delivered all he could to Batista, lefts and rights, but the "Animal" absorbed them and proceeded to spear the life out of the "Latino Warrior"! Batista quickly went for the spinebuster, but Chavo slipped out, picking at the leg of Batista just for the "Animal" to give Chavo a short-armed clothesline! Batista was setting up for the Batista Bomb, but that's when Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins came out to boos, Batista quickly knocking them off the apron, but Chavo dropkicked Batista in the face! Chavo went at Batista, getting him on his knees and coming off the top rope with a missile dropkick as the Guerrero family member was trying to get as many pinfalls on Batista as possible. But Batista once again mounted a comeback, catching Chavo in mid air off the second rope, and delivering the spinebuster! But that's when the Edgeheads jumped the "Animal".
The crowd booed loudly as Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins pounded at the back of the "Animal" Batista's head, Ryder with a leg lariat whilst Hawkins delivered a second rope legdrop! Chavo Guerrero then went to slap some taste out of Batista's mouth until Rey Mysterio ran down to the ring, Mysterio clearing house of La Familia! He gave Ryder a dropkick out of the ring, the 619 to Chavo, and then he gave Hawkins a hurricanrana to the outside! Mysterio helped Batista up, as Rey's night was still not over yet!
In the backstage area we see Jesse helping Festus down the hallway as they saw Chris the trainer, Jesse asking Festus if he could have some assistance with Festus. Festus was out on his feet, not good considering his mental state.
The RAW Rebound aired, reviewing the Champion of Champions triple threat match between RAW's WWE Champion, Randy Orton, SmackDown!'s World Heavyweight Champion, Edge, and the ECW World Champion CM Punk. It was a struggle of a match, all three men refusing to give up, but in the end it was Jeff Hardy who drove Orton away from ringside to cost him the match and give Punk the win against Edge! But then backstage, Randy Orton jumped Jeff, beating down on his number one contender, that is until Triple H appeared with his sledgehammer, Orton grinning evilly and walking away.
Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman discussed the Royal Rumble and how it was only three weeks away on pay-per-view, updating us on the card as it was announced yesterday on WWE.com that Chris Jericho would be facing John Bradshaw Layfield on the night of the Rumble.
An advertisement aired, promoting the WWE Royal Rumble. Live on pay-per-view on Sunday, January 27th 2008 from New York City.
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
4) The Great Khali (w/Ranjin Singh) def. Colin Delaney to qualify for the Royal Rumble @ 0:39 Colin Delaney was a dead man and even he knew it. The Great Khali was vicious as he intimidated Delaney with his eyes, Delaney trying to run but Khali dragged him back in and slammed him with a big right hand; Delaney flying half way across the ring! Khali finished Delaney off with the Vice Grip for easy victory.
The Great Khali celebrated his win by not letting go of the Vice Grip, then giving Delaney a huge chop to the head. Khali and Ranjin Singh celebrated the win dominantly, and Khali was definitely going to be a threat, to win this year's Royal Rumble match.
Rey Mysterio was shown backstage standing by with Josh Mathews, as Mathews asked Rey about his thoughts going into this match with Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship. Rey talked about how great it would be to win the World Heavyweight Championship once again, especially from an undeserving man like the "Rated R Superstar". Rey stated how he respected Edge as an athlete, but now he is the pawn of Vickie Guerrero, and he doesn't respect what either of them have done to the Guerrero Family, or the SmackDown! brand. And if he wins and has to face Batista at the Royal Rumble, then let it be. But he was going to give his friend Batista his all! Mysterio left to continue getting ready.
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
John Morrison and The Miz were shown making their way to the ringside area, as they had already caused chaos tonight on SmackDown!, being the ones that took out the beast known as Festus. They were out here on commentary, the WWE Tag Team Champions scouting their challengers before their match this Tuesday night for the titles.
5) Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore def. Deuce 'N Domino (w/Cherry) @ 4:03 The number one contenders took on the former WWE Tag Team Champions themselves, as Deuce 'n Domino have definitely been trying to refocus on what is good, and that is the title belts around the waists of John Morrison and The Miz. Jimmy Wang Yang and Domino started, Wang Yang with a set of steam as the Asian Redneck took it to Domino, but that all changed when Domino dropkicked Wang Yang as he was coming off of the second rope. Shannon Moore awaited the hot tag as Domino and Deuce put the boots to Wang Yang; Cherry looking on looking as cute as usual. Deuce soon went for the Crack to the Mouth, but Wang Yang dodged it, getting the tag to Moore! Moore ran in and took down both men with clotheslines, before Wang Yang took out Domino; Deuce getting the moonsault from Moore for the win!
Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore celebrated their win, as they stared down John Morrison and The Miz; the two ECW superstars seemed ready, as did their challengers. The WWE Tag Team Championships will be on the line this Tuesday on ECW on Sci-Fi!
An advertisement for Monday Night RAW aired, revealing that Triple H and Jeff Hardy would be taking on Randy Orton and Umaga in the main event, whilst Shawn Michaels would take on John Bradshaw Layfield! In addition, Mr McMahon's reaction to Ric Flair defeating him last Monday night, all this Monday on the USA Network from 8/9 CT!
6) Edge def. Rey Mysterio to retain the World Heavyweight Championship @ 13:49 This match was definitely unpredictable as these two men have been WWE Tag Team Champions, partners and rivals in the past decade, both of these outstanding performers competing for the biggest prize in this business. The "Rated R Superstar" was out here without La Familia, and Rey was on a roll in the opening moments of this match, hurricanranas, headscissors and even an attempted 619 all taking place without the opening minutes. Edge soon fired back though, with a big boot to the big heart of the challenger, and Edge then began to work at Rey's well documented knee, trying to make sure that Rey didn't leave Richmond on his feet, or with the World Heavyweight Championship. Mysterio fired back though, but once the Edgecator was locked in, Mysterio was riving in pain. Rey was then released, as Edge set up the Spear instead, Rey leapfrogging it and cradling for a close two count! Mysterio went for the 619 and it connected, Rey setting up to Drop the Dime, but Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder came down to ringside, helping Edge out of the ring. Rey looked mad and went for a springboard plancha, but he tripped and Rey fell to the floor clutching his knee! Edge capitalized, rolling Rey into the ring and applying the Edgecator again, Rey finally tapping!
Edge celebrated his win to boos as Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins continued the attack on Rey Mysterio, until Batista ran down to the ring! Batista took out Ryder and Hawkins, returning the favor for Rey Mysterio earlier tonight, but he was then struck by Edge's Spear! But that's when the Edgeheads stood victorious...until a gong was heard and lights went out, the Undertaker standing at the top of the stage, raising his finger at the World Heavyweight Championship in Edge's hands! SmackDown! went off the air.

WRESTLING NEWS: THE MAIN SCOOP
CHRIS MASTERS RETURNING? Chris Masters was suspended from action on November 2, 2007 for his second violation of the WWE Wellness Policy. This took him out for 60 days, and those 60 days expired on New Year's Day. It is apparent that he will return to action this Friday night on SmackDown, but apparently the second violation has him in bad books with higher ups, so a release could be on the way for young Chris Masters.
WWE TO GO HD? It has been rumoured that the WWE have been thinking about broadcasting their product in HD for an extra rate. This includes RAW, ECW, SmackDown! and any pay-per-views. However this could coincide with recent rumours of the company changing their product entirely. It was finally announced on Thursday, January 3rd on WWE.com that the company would be broadcasting their first show in HD at the Royal Rumble.
JOHN CENA *CAN* RETURN FOR WRESTLEMANIA In great news, the injury that John Cena suffered back in August that thought could put Cena away from the ring until after WrestleMania XXIV is apparently not so. Cena has been cleared to compete as of March, so there is a probable chance that he will be on the line-up for WrestleMania.
NEW ADDITION TO THE SMACKDOWN! ROSTER Drew McIntyre has been added to the SmackDown! roster today, and so I immediately assume that he is finally ready for the main card (and by that I mean SmackDown!, not WWE.com's HEAT). He has been working house shows with SmackDown! this weekend, teaming with Brit veteran, David Taylor.

WWE Monday Night RAW - Monday 7th January 2008 - Uncasville, CT A replay from last Monday night aired, as it was Ric Flair's career in jeopardy as he was scheduled to take on the Chairman of the company, Mr McMahon himself in a No Holds Barred match. The match was on, Flair and McMahon going at it, but McMahon called for reinforcement from John Bradshaw Layfield; unfortunately Chris Jericho came out and took JBL out, and Umaga came out as well. But Flair still managed to walk out with his career intact with Triple H at his side. The opening video package for Monday Night RAW aired, and we cut to the live Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville for the first RAW of 2008! Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler welcomed us to the show. The theme of the Chairman hit the PA system, as out came Mr McMahon himself, a bandaid on his forehead after the hard-hitting brawl last week with Ric Flair. McMahon was met with loud boos as he talked about how New Year's Eve wasn't the best of nights for him to ring in the New Year, not in a hospital clinic anyway. McMahon then talked about how he didn't feel happy with Ric Flair, but he definitely wasn't happy with Chris Jericho or Triple H for getting involved! Which is why tonight we will see RAW Roulette...McMahon style! McMahon set up two matches for tonight, one for Triple H to take on John Bradshaw Layfield, and the other one for Chris Jericho to meet Umaga. Stipulations still to be added, by the way. McMahon was suddenly interrupted by Jeff Hardy's theme, and out came the WWE Intercontinental Champion himself to a loud ovation from Uncasville. Hardy stood opposite McMahon as Vince asked what the champ wanted. Jeff told Vince that he wanted to know when he was going to shut his mouth, stop hogging up air time, and let the youth step in! The fans cheered as McMahon smirked, telling Hardy that he liked Jeff's rebellious attitude, but he didn't scare him at all. But this is why tonight Jeff would be able to prove himself when he defends the WWE Intercontinental Championship and puts it to good use against Mr Kennedy! The fans cheered as Hardy told McMahon that he additionally wanted McMahon to disappear because he wanted to call Randy Orton out here right now for a fight! The fans cheered, Hardy telling McMahon that it wasn't right for Orton to go around jumping people from behind in the back and make them fear him, because Hardy isn't afraid of the WWE Champion in the slightest! Randy Orton then came out with a grin on his face, as he told Hardy that he found this whole situation cute, but McMahon and Orton talked, and have decided to leave Orton off the card for tonight, under terms that he wants his WWE Champion to be ready for the Royal Rumble! The crowd booed, as McMahon then mentioned that Hardy should enjoy his evening, then leaving. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |A replay from during the commercial break aired, as William Regal was with Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly to spin the wheel and make the deal, as Cody went to spin it just for Holly to come in and tell Cody to let a real veteran do it. Rhodes accepted and spun the wheel, the ticker landing on a Strange Bedfellows match! Rhodes and Holly looked confused, as Regal told them to get to the ring. 1) Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly def. Lance Cade and Brian Kendrick to retain the World Tag Team Championships in Strange Bedfellows @ 4:47This match was intended to be the rematch opportunity for Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch to get back their World Tag Team Championships, but due to the Strange Bedfellows stipulation, only the challenging team were altered, as Murdoch ended up paired with a former World Tag Champion himself, Brian Kendrick. Kendrick and Cody Rhodes mixed offence, Kendrick actually almost winning the titles for the oddball team, but Lance Cade tagged himself in and went after Hardcore Holly, and Brian got angry, delivering a dropkick to Cade! Cade managed to get on Holly, but seemed frustrated as Kendrick left to an ovation, and that's when Cody backslid Cade, and Cade ran into the Alabama Slam for the win! Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes celebrated their win to cheers, whilst Lance Cade remained down in the ring, Brian Kendrick with a big grin on his face from the rampway. Umaga was shown in the backstage area with William Regal, as Regal was prepping the "Samoan Bulldozer" up, telling him that tonight he would be able to get the job done and beat that disgusting Y2J, Chris Jericho. Umaga was getting worked out before letting out a yell and walking away. John Bradshaw Layfield suddenly appeared, telling the RAW General Manager that the "Samoan Bulldozer" better get the job done. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |Ric Flair was shown pulling up at the building, as the "Nature Boy" exited his limousine to 'woos' from the capacity crowd, and they all wondered what the "Nature Boy" had in store for us tonight. We were shown into the locker room of Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch as the two seemed irate with the fact that they couldn't get the job done because of 'Strange Bedfellows'. The two bumpkins continued to whine until Paul London and Brian Kendrick stepped in to cause Cade and Murdoch to tense up and get in Kendrick and London's face, asking them what they wanted. Kendrick told Murdoch that they proved they were better contenders to the World Tag Team Championships, challenging Cade and Murdoch for their rematch clause next week on RAW! Cade told Kendrick that after tonight's mess, he'd be happy to! 2) Maria def. Beth Phoenix, Mickie James, Ashley & Jillian Hall in a Lingerie Pillowfight to gain contention to the WWE Womens Championship @ 3:05This was a surprising match, as Ashley, the winner of the 2006 RAW Diva Search made her way out to the ring for this one, the first time seeing her since she was on SmackDown! in July! Ashley seemed to now be a RAW Diva, as this one was to showcase who was the number one contender to the title in the hands of the "Glamazon" Beth Phoenix. Phoenix was involved as well though, as she came out dressed in normal ring attire whilst the others in lingerie. She powered Maria and Mickie James around whilst Jillian and Ashley reignited their old feud from SmackDown! Phoenix nailed a Glam Slam on Ashley onto the bed, but suddenly Maria nailed a sunset flip off of the bed onto the "Glamazon" getting the shocking three! Maria celebrated her win by sliding out of the ring, the other Divas perplexed, especially the WWE Womens Champion, Beth Phoenix! Phoenix wasn't happy with the upset Maria had pulled off over the champ! Chris Jericho was shown in the interview area with Todd Grisham, as Grisham asked Y2J about his thoughts on Umaga and his match tonight. Chris Jericho told Todd that he didn't care whatever the "Samoan Bongdozer" had, because tonight, Jericho was in town, and he wasn't ready to let the newest Samoan knockoff get a win over good old Y2J. Jericho went on to talk about John Bradshaw Layfield, and how he hoped he was watching, because he wanted to give him a beating that will leave him never...eeeeever the same again! Jericho headed for the ring, in action up next. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting the WWE Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, January 27th, 2008 from New York City, New York. We return to Monday Night RAW as Shawn Michaels was shown meeting up with a warming up Triple H, as the "Heartbreak Kid" asked Hunter if he had heard about how his match with John Bradshaw Layfield was to determine if he could qualify for the Royal Rumble match or not. The "Cerebral Assassin" remained confident, stating how he believes JBL will be very easy to defeat, if Shawn knows what he means. Hunter picked up his sledgehammer to give us a hint. 3) Umaga def. Chris Jericho in a First Blood match @ 6:23William Regal spun the wheel, knowing he was biased towards the "Samoan Bulldozer", and as a result we ended up with a First Blood match stipulation. Y2J immediately took it to Umaga, then leaving the ring and taking Umaga down with a steel chair to the spine, but Umaga managed to dodge the chair to the skull. Umaga went after Jericho, taking him down with force, a Samoan drop connecting followed by a headbutt. Umaga worked over Jericho with a vise grip on the shoulder, the "Samoan Bulldozer" keeping Y2J under his control. Eventually, Jericho managed to fire back and Chris nailed a bulldog, the Lionsault connecting! Jericho then went to pick up the chair when John Bradshaw Layfield appeared out of nowhere, picking up the chair and slamming it in Y2J's face! Jericho was bleeding, and the bell was rang. Chris Jericho remained down as John Bradshaw Layfield followed up with a steel chair shot to the spine, JBL standing next to Umaga, as Layfield picked up a microphone and told Jericho that if he wanted to kick his ass, he'd have come and found him, and not waited for it, because this is what he got! JBL told Y2J that he went through the trouble of making this match himself; JBL vs Y2J, to see who the better man was, at the Royal Rumble. Layfield dropped the mic and left, Umaga celebrating victory. We went back to William Regal in his office, the RAW General Manager seemingly pleased that Chris Jericho was defeated by Umaga. Mr McMahon then wandered in, asking Regal how the show was coming on. The two small talked about how Ric Flair was in the building, but he wasn't going to speak to him for obvious reasons; calling the "Nature Boy" an old mad man. Suddenly, Triple H stormed into the room and stared at McMahon, McMahon laughing as the "Cerebral Assassin" continued to glare, telling Vince that he tried to end the career of his former mentor in the worst way possible, telling Vince to respect Flair. Vince told Hunter that he better respect his father-in-law, because he was making his career and he could break it; especially after last week. Hunter spun the wheel for his match with John Bradshaw Layfield, as it landed on Falls Count Anywhere, Triple H smiling and then storming out of the room! 4) Triple H def. John Bradshaw Layfield in a Falls Count Anywhere match to qualify for the Royal Rumble @ 8:31Triple H was so stoked for this match with John Bradshaw Layfield that he stormed out of William Regal's office and ran into several heavy hitting shots from JBL at the Gorilla Position, the "Cerebral Assassin" winning the exchange of blows and sending JBL into a table. Hunter tried to finish it off early with a Pedigree on concrete, but Layfield manage to turn it around, a right hand sending the "Game" over a cart. | COMMERCIAL BREAK | Triple H was now down on the rampway as we returned to RAW, JBL over him pounding down on the "Game", before Layfield daringly set up a powerbomb on the rampway, Triple H reversing it and turning it into a DDT! Hunter covered but Carlito came out, Carlito and Layfield teaming up as the brawl spilled into the ring at last, the two double teaming Hunter and taking turns working over him. Carlito gave Triple H a Backstabber, but HHH managed to kick out! Triple H fired back, sending Carlito flying, and the Pedigree gave Triple H the three! Triple H celebrated his win as the fans cheered in approval, and the "Cerebral Assassin" was now going to the Royal Rumble! Santino Marella was shown in the backstage area, as Marella met up with Maria, Maria dressed in lingerie after her match, and Santino was extremely pleased by the revelation that her Maria was going to challenging for the WWE Womens Championship. Marella made out that he was going to wear the belt around his waist, causing confusion for Maria. Santino then saw the Highlanders walk past, looking at Maria with smiles on their faces! Santino told the Ginger Twins to take their eyes away from his woman, Marella then taking off his shirt and offering it to Maria quickly to wear. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |Mr Kennedy was in the backstage area, standing by with Todd Grisham as Grisham asked Kennedy about his confidence before he challenged Jeff Hardy for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Kennedy told Todd to be quiet, because he knew this was a one man job and that he wasn't needed. He told everyone at home to hush up as well, because tonight, people were going to witness history, because after tonight, we would deem Mr Kennedy the most valuable player of Monday Night RAW! Kennedy has bust his ass every single time he's been in that ring, and tonight it will pay off when the Green Bay home boy takes on the North Carolina white trash, and when opposites attract, Mr Kennedy will walk out as WWE Intercontinental Champion of the WORLD. That's when Shawn Michaels appeared, laughing and telling Kennedy that busting his ass didn't do much for him last week against HBK! Shawn walked away, Kennedy looking irate. Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler began to discuss the card for the Royal Rumble, and how we had the 30 man Royal Rumble, revealing that at recent live events Snitsky, Deuce 'N Domino, John Morrison, The Miz, Cody Rhodes, Hardcore Holly and now Triple H and Batista were joining the cast for the Royal Rumble match! Additionally, Randy Orton will be defending the WWE Championship against Jeff Hardy, and just announced, Chris Jericho does battle with John Bradshaw Layfield. The theme of the "Nature Boy" hit, and out came Ric Flair himself, the living legend making his way down to the ring in a suit, and Flair climbed into the ring and welcomed everybody on RAW to the New Year! The fans cheered, Flair continuing by thanking everyone for his support recently, because Ric was doing everything in his power to keep his career alive and well just for every single fan out there! Flair brought in the woos, then beginning to talk about the match this Friday on SmackDown!, where his career is in jeopardy against Mark Henry, but honestly it doesn't scare him one bit! Flair told the fans that it would have to take several broken ribs for the "World's Strongest Man" to take him down, but Mark couldn't break any ribs, because Flair would just outsmart the dumb brawn and slap in that Figure-Four Leglock for another victory! Suddenly, the theme of Santino Marella hit to boos, as Santino and Maria made their way out to the ring to boos, Maria now wearing Santino's shirt as Santino wore a different one. Marella asked Flair if he actually thought he was a living legend. Santino told Ric that he was a schmuck that he had never seen before in his life! Marella called Flair older than the "Maria Rose" as Flair responded, telling Santino that he was obviously not a fan of his, but to be honest, he was a fan of Santino's; he liked how he got manhandled by Umaga, he liked how he was doused in beer by Stone Cold Steve Austin, and he loves his girlfriend Maria! Flair winked at Maria as Maria seemed smitten, but this made Santino even angrier, the fiery Italian demanding Flair face him right here and now! Flair told Santino to bring it, removing his jacket and calling a referee down to the ring. 5) Ric Flair def. Santino Marella (w/Maria) @ 0:14Ric Flair was certainly not dressed to compete, but here we were, Santino and Flair going for a test of strength but Flair turned it into a cradle, securing a quick win! Ric Flair stood up in the ring, bowing to the fans as they loved it, Santino Marella meanwhile sat up, looking angry that he had just been humiliated! Flair left as Maria seemed in awe with the "Nature Boy". Meanwhile, Jeff Hardy was walking through the backstage area, and headed for the ring; Hardy defends the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Mr Kennedy in our main event up next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |William Regal spun the Roulette wheel during the commercial break, and it determined the stipulation for the Intercontinental Championship main event, landing on a steel cage match! 6) Mr Kennedy def. Jeff Hardy to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship in a Steel-Cage match @ 13:49Randy Orton made his way out to the ringside area after these two combatants had made their way out to the ring, the WWE Champion taking a seat at ringside tonight, on commentary during this main event. Jeff Hardy got in several shots in the early goings of this match, flying forearms from all angles connecting on Mr Kennedy. Kennedy soon fired back though, as he caught Hardy running at him and sent him flying into the cage wall face first. Kennedy followed up by choking Hardy with the ring ropes, and then wearing Hardy down with an abdominal stetch. Kennedy worked Hardy down, continuing to send Hardy into the cage walls before setting up for the Mic Check, but Jeff slipped out and made a comeback, the Twist of Fate to the challenger! Hardy then went to climb up, but as he was climbing Kennedy showed to be playing possum and ran up to the top rope, delivering the Green Bay Plunge with Hardy on top of the cage! Kennedy and Hardy continued to fight, Hardy finally winning the affair and going to leave via the cage wall, but once he reached the top, he had a sudden urge to do something death defying, and he did it with a massive Swanton Bomb fifteen feet down on Kennedy on the canvas! Both were then in a race to leave the cage, Hardy quicker to get up than Kennedy surprisingly, as Hardy crawled over to the cage door, but Orton suddenly left commentary, slamming the cage door on Hardy's head! Kennedy then jumped over Hardy, sliding out to the floor. The crowd booed loudly as Mr Kennedy slid out of the ring, the referee handing him his newly earned WWE Intercontinental Championship, though only because of Randy Orton! Kennedy celebrated with the belt as he left, the WWE Champion then climbing into the ring, Jeff Hardy left down in the middle of the ring; Orton stalking the "Rainbow-Haired Warrior", delivering a thunderous RKO to his number one contender! Hardy was out, and Orton looked dominant, RAW going off the air. WWE HEAT - Sunday 13th January 2008 Carlito def. Charlie Haas to qualify for the Royal Rumble Snitsky def. ECW on Sci-Fi - Tuesday 8th January 2008 - Wilkes-Barre, PA We open up tonight's episode of ECW on Sci-Fi with a replay from last Tuesday night, where it was the ECW World Championship at stake, CM Punk taking on Big Daddy V in a feud ending Extreme Rules match; or so we thought. Punk knocked off a huge win against Big Daddy V, but after the match it was Mark Henry that attacked Punk, Matt Striker taking the title from Punk and leaving with V and Mark Henry. The opening video package for ECW on Sci-Fi aired, pyrotechnics going off. Joey Styles and Tazz welcomed us to the show, boasting the WWE Tag Team Championships at stake, another Royal Rumble qualifying match, and CM Punk hopefully retrieving his ECW World Championship from Big Daddy V and Mark Henry! The theme of the ECW General Manager hit to boos, Armando Estrada making his way out to the rampway, Estrada as cocky as usual as he revealed that tonight we would see many great things happening, but something controversial happened; he doesn't like CM Punk, but he doesn't like that Big Daddy V has the ECW World Championship; which is why tonight, he wants Punk to find himself a worthy partner to do battle with the monster combination of Big Daddy V and Mark Henry! Estrada laughed as the crowd booed, Estrada allowing us to get on with the show. 1) John Morrison and The Miz def. Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships @ 11:20This was a solid opening contest, as these two teams have certainly built up a rivalry in recent weeks, Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore knocking off wins against the WWE Tag Team Championships, and bypassing the Miz and Morrison's Fifteen Minutes of Fame challenge. But tonight was the ultimate test, as the titles were on the line. Miz and Moore started off, the challengers using their quickness to keep on top of Miz, but Morrison soon got in and matched the speed of Wang Yang, a kick to the ribs being the equalizer! The "Tuesday Night Delight" worked over the ribs with the "Chick Magnet", the WWE Tag Team Champions proving themselves as true champions. We were also reminded of what the champs did to Festus last Friday on SmackDown! in an appalling display of dominance, but this didn't happen here. Moore finally got the hot tag, as he came in and almost got the win with a standing moonsault on Miz! Morrison and Moore then sped up; Wang Yang and Miz also involved as it came down to Wang Yang with a hurricanrana to Morrison, but when he wasn't looking Miz gave him the Mizard of Oz! Morrison then nailed a springboard corkscrew moonsault for the win. The crowd hissed as John Morrison quickly rolled out of the ring, the "Tuesday Night Delight" joining The Miz on the rampway, these two young ECW superstars having managed to retain the WWE Tag Team Championships barely tonight from Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore! In the backstage area we saw Layla texting on her phone when suddenly Victoria from SmackDown! appeared, Victoria asking Layla what was wrong. Layla told Victoria that it didn't matter, but Victoria wanted something out of Layla. Layla explained that it was the fans all loving Kelly Kelly despite how unattractive she truly was! The crowd booed at this, but Victoria agreed, telling Layla that if she wanted, they could team up tonight, as she wanted to teach Michelle McCool a lesson as well. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |CM Punk was shown in the backstage area to a loud ovation, the Straight Edge Superstar looking pleased as he approached Tommy Dreamer, Punk asking Dreamer if he was willing to be his tag team partner tonight. Dreamer accepted, telling Punk that he'd love to because he was sick of Matt Striker running these two big guys around like they were the greatest thing on ECW. But tonight, thanks to the ECW World Champion, they'd get to know the true Innovator of Violence. 2) Elijah Burke (w/Shelton Benjamin) def. Balls Mahoney @ 4:53An interesting match here, as Shelton Benjamin accompanied Elijah Burke out to ringside for this Royal Rumble qualifying match; the "Gold Standard" having already qualified for the match. Meanwhile, Balls Mahoney was also a former amateur wrestler, though those days were long behind him. The Elijah Experience was set in tonight, as Burke got in some cocky slaps on Mahoney, the ECW veteran firing back with clobbering lefts and rights, Mahony with a crossbody, shocking everyone in attendance. The "Gold Standard" seemed intrigued but Balls set up for the Ball Breaker, just for Elijah to slip out, and Burke gave Balls a huge uppercut stunning Mahoney in the corner, the Elijah Express giving Burke the win! Elijah Burke celebrated his win to a loud pop, the Elijah Experience once again successful, as Burke was now going to the Royal Rumble. Meanwhile, Shelton Benjamin stepped into the ring, the "Gold Standard" smirking as he seemed impressed with Burke's doings tonight on ECW. Benjamin then followed up on a stunned Balls Mahoney, delivering the Paydirt with ease! Benjamin smirked at Burke again, the two athletes leaving together. The RAW Rebound aired, replaying happenings from last night's episode of RAW, where Jeff Hardy defended the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Mr Kennedy in a match made a Steel-Cage match with thanks to RAW Roulette. Hardy was close to exiting and retaining, but he was hit with an urge to deliver a Swanton Bomb from fifteen feet. But Orton then got involved, slamming the cage door in on Hardy's head. Kennedy won the gold after escaping, but Orton planted his number one contender with a self-explanatory RKO. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |A vignette aired, promoting the anticipated debut of the Jamaican Sensation, Kofi Kingston, coming to ECW in two weeks. We suddenly cut to the backstage area as security and paramedics seemed panicked, CM Punk suddenly appearing as he rushed to the centre of this, budging to the front and realizing Tommy Dreamer out on the floor, blood dripping from his mouth and a singapore cane lying by him! It was obvious that Big Daddy V and Mark Henry did this, and Punk was not in the good mood he was in earlier tonight. 3) Victoria and Layla def. Kelly Kelly and Michelle McCool @ 2:42A divas match set up earlier tonight, as the feud between the two members of the old Extreme Exposé squared off, Kelly Kelly and Layla rolling around with each other until Layla tagged in Victoria, and Victoria dominating Kelly nearly, then dragging Michelle into the match and then throwing her over the top rope! Victoria was met with boos as she gave Kelly a huge Window's Peak for the win. The crowd booed as Victoria and Layla celebrated their wins to boos, having gotten a huge win over their respective Diva rivals. We cut to the backstage area as new interviewer for the WWE, Eve Torres welcomed us to the interview area, standing by with Kevin Thorn, then asking him for his change of persona as of late. Thorn simply replied with an evil laugh, then left. Meanwhile, we cut to CM Punk in the hallway, and the ECW World Champion was making his way to the ring, but partnerless this could be impossible; Punk takes on Mark Henry and Big Daddy V next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting the WWE Royal Rumble. Live on pay-per-view on Sunday, January 27th 2008 from New York City. 4) CM Punk and Kane def. Big Daddy V and Mark Henry (w/Matt Striker) @ 7:39This was a pleasant surprise, as the ECW World Champion had chosen the man that Mark Henry took out of action three weeks ago on SmackDown! to be his partner, and Kane was furious. The "Big Red Monster" delivered countless blows to the "World's Strongest Man", swinging for Matt Striker as well. Big Daddy and Mark Henry in the mean time worked over the Straight Edge Superstar, CM Punk in trouble as Big Daddy V nailed him with a legdrop and set up the Samoan Drop just for Kane to get into the ring and deliver a huge Chokeslam to V! Punk then slowly got up and covered Big Daddy V securing the three! CM Punk celebrated his win with Kane, as they then noticed Matt Striker with the ECW World Championship belonging to the Straight Edge Superstar, Kane grabbed Striker by his shirt and handing him to Punk! Punk delivered the GTS to the manager of Big Daddy V and Mark Henry; Kane following up with a Chokeslam! Punk picked up his title, but suddenly V and Henry hit the ring again, Mark Henry tossing Kane out of the ring! Meanwhile V delivered the Samoan Drop to Punk, taking the title belt again! The crowd booed as Punk and Kane were left in the ring, Punk angry that his title had been stolen once again! ECW on Sci-Fi went off the air.

Thoroughly enjoyable opening promo that provided a great recap to the previous week's events, as well as setting up this weeks action. More than did the job, and the roulette should make for an interesting evening. I do like that McMahon has shoved Hardy into a title defense and Orton is getting rested; kind of keeps his heat as a heel despite the fact that he put over Hardy a bit earlier in the promo. I suspect Hardy is going to drop the title, which will provide Kennedy with a solidified place on the card, just not sure if there is good enough faces for him to battle at the moment. Good opener that gets across the point of the roulette well, would like to see a genuine rematch somewhere along the line. Hmm, if the match next week leads to Kendrick and London getting a title match followed by a title reign, then I'm all for it. Never understood the choice of Holly and Rhodes as champions over Kendrick and London. Sensible move putting Ashley on RAW, no point in divas on SmackDown! outside of valets really. Nt too sure about the choice you made with Beth being in the match with contention to her title on the line, but maybe thats just me. Must say as well before I forget that the backstage promos have had some good representation of character in them so far, good stuff. I like the decision of having Layfield crack Jericho with a chair shot, good stuff. Keeps everyone involved looking pretty credible, just hope you can do the same with JBL in his match later. Didn't really like the match with JBL and Triple H, just a lot of it rubbed me the wrong way. Don't like that JBL has lost in one of his first matches back, and I don't like that Carlito was made to look weak by having his finisher kicked out of after a double team. Loved the Kennedy promo, excellent work! Good segment with Santino and Flair, really like how we're seeing a lot of development of stories, and how character is being shown tonight. Good stuff. Quality way to close the night with a steel cage match, and the Intercontinental Championship main eventing gives it a big rub! Predicted Kennedy would go over, and glad to see it. Look forward to your booking of him as Champion. Great show with a lot of story progression, excited to see this back. Keep it up!
(ECW reply coming sometime tomorrow, don't fret!)

WWE SmackDown! - Friday 11th January 2008 - Wilkes-Barre, PA Dark Match: DH Smith & Dave Taylor def. Nunzio & Vito (5:05) after the side Russian legsweep.A replay from last Friday night on SmackDown! aired, as it showed Edge and Vickie Guerrero once again manipulating their powers as the authorities of SmackDown!, allowing Rey Mysterio to face Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship; but if Rey won he would have had to face his good friend, Batista for the title at the Royal Rumble. Mysterio fought hard, but too much damage to the knee put Mysterio away. The Edgeheads then arrived, but they were met by a rescue attack from the "Animal" Batista himself, as well as the Undertaker appearing! Tonight we will see a six man tag team match take place between all of these top stars. The opening video package for SmackDown! aired, and we cut to the Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman welcoming us to the show.
1) Finlay (w/Hornswoggle) def. Montel Vontavious Porter by disqualification in a non-title match @ 8:22 A hot opening contest that was set up last week due to Montel Vontavious Porter's loudmouth attitude towards the "Fighting Irishman". It was announced that MVP and Finlay would both be in the Royal Rumble match as these two exchanged offense, Finlay managing to get the better of MVP with several chops in the corner, followed by the steam roller. MVP tried to keep taking breathers outsdie of the ring, but Finlay would follow him and take him back in. Finlay almost had the win with a figure-four leglock, but MVP managed to turn it over to the displease of the Pennsylvanian crowd. Finlay then went for the Celtic Cross, but MVP somehow managed to slide out, giving Finlay a blatant low blow causing the disqualification!
The crowd booed as MVP rolled out of the ring, Finlay recovering from the low blow in the ring. Montel Vontavious Porter got away with the WWE United States Championship intact, and Finlay and Hornswoggle were furious!
In the backstage area we saw Edge with Vickie Guerrero and the Edgeheads, as La Familia were seemingly working out their strategy for the upcoming six man tag team match. The "Rated R Superstar" cowardly ordered Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins to wear down Rey Mysterio, and Batista, and the Undertaker! Edge then offered to take down what was left. Vickie told Edge to stand up to them, and co-operate as well because Ryder and Hawkins were obviously not going to be able to handle all of that! The World Heavyweight Champion reluctantly agreed.

We returned to SmackDown! to see Ric Flair in his dressing room to a loud 'woo' echo from the crowd in the Wachovia Arena. Flair was then interrupted from his warmup by Batista, as the "Nature Boy" asked Batista what was up. The "Animal" told Flair that tonight, if he saw any mind games from Matt Striker or Big Daddy V, he'd be out there. Batista told Ric to watch himself out there, he didn't want his mentor hurt, and then retired! Flair was calm, telling Batista not to worry, just to focus on kicking Edge's ass tonight. Batista accepted, leaving.
2) Chavo Guerrero def. Funaki to qualify for the Royal Rumble @ 4:20 This match was given to Chavo Guerrero thanks to Vickie Guerrero, to make up for putting her nephew in law Chavo against Batista last week. But Funaki put up a fight, the Japanese veteran taking it to Chavo and almost securing the win with a sunset flip for a near fall. Chavo then fired back, pounding on the back of Funaki, applying the Gory Special and wearing down Funaki, but Funaki finally fired out and delivered the enzuigiri out of retaliation, then preparing for the top rope Tornado DDT, but Chavo threw him off and delivered the Gory Bomb for the win!
Chavo Guerrero celebrated his win to boos, as the "Latino Warrior" left the ring, Chavo Guerrero having qualified for the Royal Rumble match!
We go to the medical room backstage as Rey Mysterio was getting his knee brace fitted by Chris the trainer, Mysterio asking Chris if he was going to be alright in tonight's match. Chris told Rey not to worry, but warned him not to do any daring, high flying stuff out there, because that'll just exasperate the injury. Rey looked concerned before Edge walked in, a huge grin on his face. The "Rated R Superstar" told Rey that he better have it all with him tonight, because he'd be after him once again. Mysterio looked concerned as Edge told him that he'd see him out there.
An advertisement aired, promoting the WWE Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, January 27th, 2008 from New York City, New York.

We go to a replay from this past Tuesday night on ECW, as it was Mark Henry and Big Daddy V taking on CM Punk and who was intended to be Tommy Dreamer, but he was jumped by Mark and Big Daddy V before the match. Punk's substitute partner would be Kane, the man that Mark Henry took out of action three weeks ago on SmackDown!. CM Punk and Kane won the match and retrieved the ECW World Championship, but Big Daddy V managed to steal the belt back.
We went to CM Punk in the backstage area as the Straight Edge Superstar was with Vickie Guerrero, the ECW World Champion telling Vickie that Armando Estrada won't allow Big Daddy V to bring that belt back to him, and so he wants her to do something about it. Vickie laughed maniacally as she told Punk that she'd love to, but instead she has another proposition; how about facing Big Daddy V again for the belt at the Royal Rumble! Punk told Vickie that that is what he was waiting to hear for so long. Punk walked out, as Vickie called Punk a creepy idiot.
3) Ric Flair def. Mark Henry (w/Matt Striker) by disqualification@ 7:42 This could have been it for the "Nature Boy", his storied thirty plus years as a professional wrestler ended by the "World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry. Flair managed to tackle Henry into the corner, as Naitch fired from all angles with chops, but Mark easily fired back, clubbing away at the poor "Nature Boy". Mark got Flair up and delivered a fireman's carry slam on the legend, then delivering a huge big splash on Flair! Mark wasn't done though, as he picked Flair up and tossed him outside of the ring; distracting the official whilst Matt Striker himself stomped away at Flair! But Flair then fired back, several chops to Striker, sending him into the barricade. Flair and Henry continued their fight, Flair with offence after a drop toe hold sending Henry into the steel steps. Finally though, Striker tried to get on the apron just for the "Big Red Monster" to appear, dragging Striker off of the apron and giving him a huge uppercut! Kane then climbed into the ring and gave Flair a punch causing the official to disqualify Mark Henry!
Kane went after Mark Henry after saving Ric Flair's career, the "Big Red Monster" delivering a Chokeslam to the "World's Strongest Man"! But that's when Big Daddy V slowly ran down to the ring, trading blows with Kane, and then CM Punk joined the fray! The fans cheered as Punk got rid of Striker with the Anaconda Vise at ringside, Kane and V continuing to brawl as the official rang the bell!?

4) Big Daddy V (w/Matt Striker) def. Kane (w/CM Punk) @ 4:38 This was an impromptu match and officially began during the commercial break, Big Daddy V and Kane going at it at ringside as we returned, the ECW World Champion CM Punk with the "Big Red Monster" whilst Matt Striker taunted Punk at ringside with his title belt. Kane was choked out by V as Big Daddy V made it his aim to keep Kane grounded, the huge legdrop dropping down on the "Big Red Monster" like a tree trunk. V then caught Kane in a bear hug as the fans reered Kane on, Kane finally making a comeback with uppercuts, and suddenly the Chokeslam nailed Kane! Matt Striker tried to get on the apron, but CM Punk dragged him down and delivering the GTS sending Striker right over the barricade into the front row! But suddenly Mark Henry marched down to the ring, the "World's Strongest Man" sending Punk into the steel steps, Kane going after Henry but turned around to get the Samoan Drop from V for the win!
Big Daddy V celebrated his win to boos as Mark Henry looked on, CM Punk suddenly getting onto the top rope behind V, and Punk came off with a huge crossbody! Punk applied the Anaconda Vise, but suddenly Mark Henry broke it up, delivering the World's Strongest Slam to the ECW World Champion! Mark Henry, Matt Striker and Big Daddy V left as Kane and Punk remained down in the ring.
We went to a segment from earlier today at the local doctor's clinic where Jesse was with Dr Rochester, Jesse asking Rochester about his study on Festus and what his condition is. Dr Rochester told Jesse that Festus was suffering from brain trauma and it's all thanks to the chair shots he has taken to the head. Festus then appeared, looking out of it, whilst Jesse asked how long it would be for Festus to step foot back in the ring. Dr Rochester told him that he could start now, but he cannot allow anybody to hit him in the head.
Meanwhile, we went to the backstage area where

5) The Great Khali (w/Ranjin Singh) def. Jamie Noble @ 1:06 This match was set up earlier tonight as a rib from Chuck Palumbo, Palumbo having been jealous of Jamie Noble apparently hitting on Michelle McCool. The Great Khali manhandled Noble, fair to say. Khali showed that he was on route for the Royal Rumble match, as he fired into Noble and finished him off with that ruthless Vise Grip.
The Great Khali celebrated his dominant win to boos as the Punjabian Nightmare refused to let go of the hold! Ranjin Singh smiled from ringside as Khali simply refused to let go, but suddenly Chuck Palumbo was shown exchanging words with Michelle McCool, Palumbo telling McCool that he didn't want to save him, because Jamie Noble was a runt! But McCool ordered he go down there and save him. Palumbo did so, picking up a steel chair and running at Khali, steel chair to the spine! Palumbo followed up with a big boot to Khali, Khali leaving through the ropes with Singh! McCool was thrilled as Palumbo helped Noble up and then walked away.
Back in the office of SmackDown! General Manager we see Vickie Guerrero on the phone to apparently the RAW General Manager, William Regal. Guerrero mentioned a Royal Rumble preview battle royal featuring RAW, SmackDown! and ECW stars next week on this programme! She hung up as Edge entered her office, Vickie telling the "Rated R Superstar" that she's decided to add a stipulation to tonight's match, and as much as it hurts to tell her boyfriend this, it involves La Familia winning, because the man that scores the fall in tonight's six man tag team match, Rey Mysterio, Batista or the Undertaker...WILL face Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Royal Rumble! Edge looked shocked and angry, as he then calmed down and told Vickie that he loved her, and tonight he'd win this match and make sure they have a comfortable night at the Royal Rumble without having to put his title on the line.
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
We returned to SmackDown! as Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman hyped up the Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view and to be the first WWE programme to be shown in High-Definition in two weeks! They ran down the card scheduled to feature the 30-man Royal Rumble match to determine who challenges for the World Championship at WrestleMania XXIV; plus, Randy Orton defends the WWE Championship against Jeff Hardy; Chris Jericho does battle with John Bradshaw Layfield; Just added tonight, CM Punk defends the ECW World Championship against Big Daddy V, and Edge will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against either Rey Mysterio, the Undertaker or Batista!
6) The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio and Batista def. Edge, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins (w/Vickie Guerrero) @ 14:30 An explosive main event tonight, as the Undertaker made his first appearance back on SmackDown! since losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Edge thanks to his Edgeheads, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins at Armageddon. Meanwhile, Batista also had that issue, wanting retribution on the "Rated R Superstar" and his clones. But Rey Mysterio was in this for himself, to leave Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania tonight still standing through his painful knee injury and as the number one contender to Edge. Edge and Batista started as the "Animal" fired at the World Heavyweight Champion with lefts and rights, Edge cowering away to let Zack Ryder in, and Batista easily took apart Ryder! 'Taker then tagged himself in, the "Phenom" and the "Animal" still with a rivalry to settle after a series of wars this past year. Finally Rey Mysterio went in, and the three La Familia members picked apart at the knee of the luchadore, the Mexican isolated from his teammates, and soon Edge applied the Edgecator, much like last week but Rey refused to tap, and Batista and 'Taker came in, taking it to Edge, Ryder and Hawkins! Chaos went down as Vickie Guerrero accidentally knocked out of her wheelchair by the "Animal"! This caused the Edgeheads to double team Batista as 'Taker went back after Edge resulting in a Spear sending 'Taker off of the apron to the floor! But Rey took the opportunity as Edge looked on through the ropes as two referees came to help Vickie up; Rey with a 619! Mysterio followed with the cradle to get the three!
Rey Mysterio celebrated his win to loud cheers, as the Undertaker and Batista looked on in shock, Mysterio securing the win and he was now going to face Edge at the Royal Rumble for the World Heavyweight Championship once again! The Edgeheads and Edge were furious, as they helped Edge's girlfriend Vickie Guerrero to the backstage area, Rey with a win over the man he'll meet in two weeks! SmackDown! went off the air. WWE TO GO HD? Rumor has it that a lot of people backstage are seeing Randy Orton as a locker room leader. It all started at the Tribute to the Troops taping last month, where Umaga was getting new tights made. The seamstress refused, because they were accordingly Triple H's colours. Shawn Michaels saw the tights when Umaga wore them and apparently flipped, but it was Randy Orton who stood up to Triple H. Additionally, there is a supposed amount of heat lying on Triple H now in the back, feeling that Triple H held Booker T back to the point of Booker leaving for TNA back at SummerSlam, and Chris Jericho is another that Triple H has apparently talked bad about.
FORMER WWE SUPERSTAR K-KWIK BACK IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE COMPANY It has been rumoured that former WWE superstar, Ron Killings has been negotiating with the company for quite a while now. Killings, who formerly worked for the WWE as rapper 'K-Kwik', was not quite successful in the company. However, Killings has been told he will be taken seriously if he returns to the company.
ASHLEY OFFICIALLY A PART OF RAW Immediately after Ashley was a part of the Lingerie Pillowfight on Monday Night RAW, WWE.com posted an interview on their website that they had with Ashley. Ashley stated that she was questing for the WWE Womens Championship currently held by Beth Phoenix. Additionally, Ashley's profile was moved to the RAW roster page on WWE.com.
