WRESTLING NEWS: THE MAIN SCOOP
SMACKDOWN ELIMINATION CHAMBER PARTICIPANTS ANNOUNCED WWE.com released information on which six SmackDown and ECW superstars will be participating in the SmackDown Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out. These are Montel Vontavious Porter, The Undertaker, Kane, Mark Henry and Finlay. Another superstar is yet to be confirmed.
60 SECOND FEATURE: THE ROYAL RUMBLE FALLOUT Critics have deemed the 2008 Royal Rumble to have been a good show, with only one weak match (The UK Sun gave Chris Jericho vs JBL a 6/10, the lowest on the listed card). The Rumble match however was praised well...Bobby Lashley has signed a three year contract extension with the company...Deuce 'n' Domino are reportedly taking a face turn shortly...Lance Cade is said to be given a tester program to see if he can handle the push by eliminating Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker from the Rumble; it was apparently Shawn Michaels' idea...Rey Mysterio will be on the shelf for approximately four months with his knee injury...WWE officials are accordingly high on Kofi Kingston and are wanting to set him up with more experienced superstars to try and get the rookie more over and popular...Word has it that Chris Jericho might be cashing in his WrestleMania title shot on the World Heavyweight Championship, while others say that Batista vs The Undertaker in a WrestleMania 23 rematch is in the works for the supershow.
CELEBRITY LINE-UP FOR WRESTLEMANIA XXIV Snoop Dogg has recently confirmed his appearance for WrestleMania XXIV, although it is not known where on the show he will appear. As rumoured every year, Eminem is also in the line-up for WrestleMania. Floyd Mayweather is in negotiations with the company to make a Boxer vs Wrestler match and compete in it at WrestleMania XXIV, a similar feat to Lawrence Taylor at WrestleMania XI in 1995. 2/1/08 SD! Revie -Been following, just get sidetracked with repleid I'll be more frequent of a replier.
- I enjoyed Edge's promo about winning at Royal Rumble, as well as Vickie hyping it up too. I like Batista as his next title defense, hopefully Edge and Jericho will be the main event at WM.
-I like the Edgeheads winning, and hopefully they can win the tag gold in the future.
-I like this trio you have going on with Taylor, McIntyre and Smith--of course Taylor is the least interesting of all of them.
-MVP retaining was the right move, I hope that he moves onto a new feud now.
-Anything with Big Daddy V is just uninteresting but a feud with Kane is not that bad--yet Kane around here was so stale, hopefully he gets refreshed.
-Aw man, Delaney was SO close...2 seconds, I chuckled at that a little bit. Keep the Delaney storyline going--I enjoyed it actually.
-The faces winning is the right call pinning Chavo, even better. I wonder what will happen with this Taker-Edge-Batista situation.
-Good post Rumble Smackdown, I like the direction certain people are taking on the Road to Wrestlemania.

Alrighty. Can't wait for the Belfast Brawl between MVP and Finlay. A good opening segment with Edge boasting about hurting Rey Mysterio, and Batista as the #1 Contender was obviously coming due to his relationship with Mysterio. Very happy to see The Edgeheads with a victory, and MVP saying he will prove his worth is interesting. However, I see him worming his way out somehow, possibly interference? A good win for Dave Taylor, and I'm loving the dominance of this British team. Interesting situation with the Elimination Chamber, I wonder if we will see a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania XXIV? Bah! I was totally pulling for Finlay to somehow pull out a victory, but MVP winning was too obvious. I do hope Finlay remains relevant, however. Big Daddy V and Mark Henry are a monstrous team, literally, and to see them destroy Kane was interesting. But where was The Undertaker? A possible rematch between Batista and The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXIV? I dunno, I was never really a fan of that match, personally. A painfully obvious victory for The Great Khali over Colin Delaney. I was actually really excited for Delaney's heel turn in the WWE, but he was released... maybe you could do that later down the line? A huge win for Batista and The Undertaker, and it does look like you're going for the rematch. It'll be good I guess, I'm a big fan of both (moreso The Undertaker) and it's obvious Batista won't end the Streak, so Undertaker winning the World Championship will be fine, haha. A good SmackDown, as per usual.

Solid way to open the show with Edge cutting a promo about his victory and dominance, Edge/Batista should be solid enough feud for No Way Out. Hawkins/Ryder vs Wang/Moore was a decent match in an attempt to get the Edgeheads over. Hopefully they get a reasonable tag push. Nice promo with MVP and looking forward to the Belfast Brawl. Kind of wished Jesse was the one to take the first fall against The British Stable so Festus could attempt to get some revenge. Weird thing you've got with Festus seemingly snapping in and out of his personas randomly, interesting to see where it goes and hopefully he gets a decent push, the British Stable as well. Again glad you are going down the real life EC route, should be good. Belfast Brawl was good, a bit sad that the MVP/Finlay feud has seemingly come to an end and it seemed a bit abrupt but it was a good fight to end it and the right man went over. Kane/Big Daddy V was a decent match, hopefully this is just a mini feud leading into the Elimination Chamber and not something planned for Wrestlemania. Solid promo by Batista regarding his tag match. I laughed at Delaney falling 2 seconds short, the Armando/Delaney feud is fun. Nice main event tag team match, liked the finish with Taker shoving Batista away and signalling his intentions.
Overall a solid show, Smackdown probably ranks as my third favourite show here to read, the feuds and what you've got going seems to capture me more and this show seems a bit more predictable heading into Mania I guess, would've maybe also liked to see Jericho show up on Smackdown as well to push the idea that he may come. That's not to say it's bad as I think the other two shows are looking fantastic and I hope you can raise Smackdown to those levels, but for now still a solid job as always and not a whole lot to critique.

WWE Monday Night RAW - Monday 4th February 2008 - Austin, TX NOW IN HD!Dark Match: Vladimir Kozlov def. Val Venis @ 5:10 after the shoulderbreaker.A replay from last Monday night on RAW aired, where Mr McMahon interrupted Chris Jericho, John Cena and Randy Orton in the ring, the Chairman making several announcements for tonight and No Way Out, the first of which being an Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship, and the second being John Cena vs Randy Orton in the main event. Throughout the night Umaga, Jeff Hardy and Triple H all managed to qualify for the Chamber match, with two more spots to spare. Meanwhile, Cena and Orton's match was made into an Unsanctioned match, a back and forth battle as Cena got revenge for Randy Orton injuring him back in October, finishing Orton off with the FU through the announce table. The opening video package for Monday Night RAW aired, as we cut to the live, sold-out Frank Irwin Arena for RAW! Pyrotechnics went off as Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler happily welcomed us to the show, hyping up the two final qualifying matches for the Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out, as Shawn Michaels takes on his former trainee and the guy that eliminated him from the Royal Rumble, Lance Cade; And John Cena takes on former rival Bobby Lashley! The theme of DX hit to kick off the show as the fans went nuts for Shawn Michaels, the "Heartbreak Kid" making his way down the rampway to big reaction from the capacity crowd in Austin, Texas. The fans chanted 'HBK' as Shawn talked about how Triple H couldn't make it to the show tonight due to a family emergency, but one half of D-Generation X is still here, so he thought it'd be the perfect opportunity to introduce the substitute second half of DX, "Generate" Jim! The crowd looked confused as "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan came out in Triple H's trunks, hacksaw on his shoulder and elbow pads and wristtape on and everything, topped off by a small DX shirt! Duggan joined Michaels in the ring and asked Degenerate Jim to kick off the introduction. With that, Duggan took the microphone and yelled "HOOOOOOO" down it to a humored reaction from the Austin crowd. Michaels then stated that he'd cut right to the point, that somebody attacked Ric Flair eight days ago at the Royal Rumble, and they want to find out who did it! He then offered the microphone back to Duggan, who yelled "HOOOOOO" down the microphone once again. Michaels looked awkward, as he once again went back to the point, that throughout the night, he wanted to track down who did it to the "Nature Boy" and to suffer the consequences of the "Heartbreak Kid" and... "DX Duggan". This was once again met with a "HOOOOOOO" from the 1988 Royal Rumble winner. Shawn then called out their first suspect of the evening, John Cena! The fans popped loudly as Cena made his way down to the ring, the hero returning a second week in a row from his pectoral muscle injury. Shawn then cut right to the point, that they had classics in 2007, and that this is totally out of good cop-bad cop ruling, whilst Cena agreed. Shawn asked Duggan to start off as the good cop, to which he asked "HOOOOOO", and HBK replied, saying how this wasn't working, Sweet Chin Music to poor old Degenerate Jim! Michaels then started talking down to Cena, how he knows he was at Madison Square Garden late into the Royal Rumble, approximately after the ECW World Championship match. Michaels then stated that nobody saw Cena afterwards until it was time for the #29 entrant in the Royal Rumble and he came rushing down to the ring. Cena grabbed the mic, replying that he wasn't going to be accused of something he didn't do, because it's justice that should bring forward the man that attacked the legend, not threats or false claims! Cena was flown in directly for the Rumble, and he made it just in time, not for Flair's attack or anything else. Michaels then nodded his head and told John that for that he'd love to kick his teeth down his throat. Cena responded and told him to try it, as HBK responded that he hoped they both advanced to the Elimination Chamber, because he's been reminded of how intelligent Cena really is! Michaels took a step back, thinking hard before Shawn uttered "You know what? I'm gonna do it anyway!", and so he went to hit Cena with Sweet Chin Music just for Cena to reverse, the FU delivering to Michaels! HBK backed out of the ring in anger, although a smirk on his face as Cena had just outsmarted the "Heartbreak Kid"! In the backstage area we saw Randy Orton watching a monitor, as he was simply grinning and shaking his head at John Cena, the WWE Champion then walking away. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We returned to RAW as Todd Grisham managed to catch up with the "Heartbreak Kid", Grisham wanting to catch Shawn for a brief interview after trying to interrogate John Cena. Shawn told Grisham that he doesn't have heat on Cena, he respects him, he was just playing the bad cop! Which is what he's going to continue doing throughout the night. Michaels then turned to Grisham and asked if he had anything to do with the Ric Flair attack, as Grisham told Michaels he didn't, walking away. 1) Charlie Haas def. Robbie McAllister @ 3:57It wasn't noted where Rory McAllister was tonight, as Charlie Haas made his in-ring debut as the supposed "Master of Technical Wrasslin'", with old World's Greatest Tag Team music to boot, and he was here with a positive response, as Haas took Robbie McAllister down with ease in the early goings with a waistlock takedown, then working on the legs and arms, applying a bow-and-arrow submission at one point. McAllister then made the comeback, several lefts and rights, as this was a complete conflict in styles, the Highlander with his brawling and Haas with his matwork. But brains overcame brawn tonight, Haas once again taking Robbie to the mat and slapping in the Haas of Pain, stretching Robbie to submission! Charlie Haas celebrated his win in an impressive win tonight, as Robbie McAllister rolled out of the ring, the "Master of Technical Wrasslin'" then taking a microphone and talking about how tonight was a good night for Charlie Haas before leaving, a smug expression on his face. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We returned to RAW to find Santino Marella walking into his locker room to find a note. Marella picked up the note and read "IMMA LEAVING YOU!?", flabbergasted, Marella fell into the comfort of a chair, breathing uncontrollably until Carlito came in, Marella warning Carlito that he couldn't compete in the match tonight. Carlito asked why, when Santino stated that Maria was leaving him and there was nothing he could do to stop her. Carlito sighed in annoyance, then telling Marella that he can handle this alone instead. With that, in came Shawn Michaels, as HBK was here to interrogate Santino and Carlito. The "Heartbreak Kid" looked at Santino crying as Shawn asked if Santino had stubbed his toe again, in which Carlito simply stated that he wasn't even invited to the Royal Rumble last Sunday, so he couldn't have attacked Flair, a groan under his voice. Shawn then asked why Marella was blubbering, then asking where he was the night that Ric Flair was attacked. Marella stated that he was trumpeting, Michaels raising an eyebrow. Santino then shook his head, saying how it was in preparation for his Royal Rumble victory, then crying more. Chris Jericho was shown making his way into the Frank Irwin Arena, and he seemed to have some things to say! 2) Carlito def. Hardcore Holly (w/Cody Rhodes) @ 5:44This was a halved up version of the original match, as Carlito and Santino Marella were intended to be taking on Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes after Marella and Carlito managed to beat the World Tag Team Champions last Monday night on RAW. Carlito was taking on a veteran tonight however, as Hardcore Holly started things off by taking Carlito down and sending him into the turnbuckle, Carlito coming off of it to fall into a powerslam from Holly. Holly landed some chops into the heart of Carlito, the crowd giving Holly a positive 'wooo' noise as a tribute to Ric Flair. Holly then went for his classic dropkick just for Carlito to block it, then rushing down to the canvas and pounding away at Holly's head. Carlito started dropping knees on the right arm of Hardcore, an armbar then applied, with Hardcore having nowhere to go, until Hardcore fired back, turning Carlito's armbar into a Samoan drop! Hardcore followed up, attempting the Alabama Slam, but Carlito landed on the apron, punching Holly away and then connecting with a springboard neckbreaker to get the cheap win! The crowd booed as Carlito rolled out of the ring, but Cody Rhodes met him, and Rhodes sent him back into the ring! Rhodes helped Holly up, as the two pounded on Carlito, then sending him off of the ropes and the World Tag Team Champions connected with a double dropkick taking Carlito out in rage! Carlito started yelling "WHERE'S SANTINO!?" as he kicked the ring steps in anger. We then went to the backstage area, where Lance Cade was walking down a corridor, as he was facing Shawn Michaels in a, Elimination Chamber qualifying match next, but before that he ran into Trevor Murdoch, as the two exchanged looks, Cade confidently walking past his supposed tag partner, Cade vs Michaels next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |3) Shawn Michaels def. Lance Cade to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match @ 8:43This was our fourth Elimination Chamber qualifying match on the road to No Way Out, as it was teacher vs student, Shawn Michaels being the man that trained Lance Cade originally, but now it was Cade with the bragging rights, as he had eliminated two legends at the Royal Rumble in Shawn Michaels himself and the Undertaker. Cade was hell bent on getting the job done tonight and prove that his success wasn't a fluke. The "Heartbreak Kid" meanwhile had switched off his detective skills for now, focusing on defeating his former student, several flying clotheslines as agility took Lance Cade to the disadvantaged point in the early moments. But eventually Michaels tried a top rope move just for Cade to land him with an inverted atomic drop, clothesline taking Michaels down. Cade was arrogant as he picked HBK up and dropkicked him, Cade working over the back knees of the "Heartbreak Kid". But this crowd were hot to see Michaels as they rooted for him whilst Cade had a leglock applied. Michaels kicked Cade off and then made a comeback, starting with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, connecting with the flying forearm followed up with the elbow drop! Michaels was tuning up the band and he nailed it, the Sweet Chin Music giving HBK the win! Shawn Michaels celebrated his win to loud cheers from the Austin, Texas crowd as Lance Cade was helped out of the ring, but this is when the theme of Chris Jericho hit to a loud reaction from this capacity crowd, the 2008 Royal Rumble winner making his way down to the ring, as hyperactive as ever, as Y2J climbed into the ring and nodded to HBK, Shawn nodding back and leaving the ring to Chris Jericho, as we will hear from Y2J next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting WWE No Way Out, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, February 17th 2008 from Las Vegas, Nevada. We returned to RAW as Chris Jericho was stood in the ring, getting quite the positive reaction from the Austin crowd. Y2J welcomed everybody to Austin is Jericho, as Chris began to talk about why he came out here tonight, noting that he was just under two weeks away from announcing his opponent for WrestleMania XXIV at No Way Out. Y2J talked about how he will be looking forward to seeing who will go on to win the two Elimination Chamber matches, because quite obviously all of the jackasses that step into that match will get a brutal asskicking, almost of the violent nature of an asskicking from Y2J, Chris Jericho! Jericho talked about how he was also going to be at SmackDown this week to test the competition, but he wanted to tell Randy Orton something, just like he will Edge this Friday night on SmackDown; when you get through those ropes with the "Sexy Beast", he will make you tap, and your WrestleMania moment from WrestleMania XXIV will consist of Chris Jericho kicking his creepy, long-necked, greasy haired ass! With that, the theme of Randy Orton hit to loud boos, as the "Viper" soon made his way down to the ring, Orton merely informing Chris Jericho that his claims are false, null and void. Because Randy Orton had single-handedly made RAW his One Man Dynasty. Anything to step foot in the ring with the "Viper" was bound to get taken out by the WWE Champion himself. Randy told Y2J to be civilized, because seeing him like this couldn't make him look as credible and intimidating as the "Viper". The two stared each other down when suddenly the theme of the RAW General Manager hit, William Regal walking out to the rampway and announcing our main event for RAW tonight, as it will be Jeff Hardy teaming with Chris Jericho to take on Randy Orton and Umaga! The fans cheered, as Orton told Y2J he'd see him later, courageously turning his back to Jericho and leaving. In the backstage area we see a splitscreen of John Cena and Bobby Lashley as both men made their way to the ring, and they will compete for the final Elimination Chamber qualifying spot, next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |4) John Cena def. Bobby Lashley to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match by disqualification @ 11:04A hard fought match these two had at the Great American Bash last year over the WWE Championship, but this one could have been much better, as one of these two men would be going to the Elimination Chamber match in two weeks at No Way Out to challenge for the WWE Championship headed into WrestleMania XXIV. The fans were tied as the two pounded at each other in a fistfight to kick things off, Cena then getting the better of Lashley with a hiptoss off of the ropes. But Lashley wisely responded as he blocked a fireman's carry takedown attempt into the front facelock, ramming some knees into the head of Cena to try and wear him down. But Cena fought him off, the two on a vertical base when Cena reversed the side headlock into his inverted backdrop! Cena went for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but as he came off the ropes, Lashley sprung up with a clothesline to Cena! | COMMERCIAL BREAK | These two needed this win, as the bout continued, Cena with some chops to Lashley in the corner just for Lashley to come back with several lefts and rights of his own, Lashley then sending Cena into the ropes and dropping Cena with the Spear out of nowhere! Lashley covered, but Cena miraculously kicked out. Lashley continued his attack by setting up for the Spear in the corner, running at Cena just for Cena to move and get ring post! Lashley's shoulder was weakened as Cena went for the FU, Lashley reversing into a DDT. That was until the mic from the ceiling dropped down, distracting Lashley. And that's when Mr Kennedy ran down to the ring, Kennedy with the Intercontinental Championship bouncing off of Cena's skull! The crowd booed, as Mr Kennedy followed up by going for a title belt shot to Bobby Lashley, Lashley ducking and going for the Spear, but Kennedy instead stuck to the ropes, laying Lashley out with the WWE Intercontinental Championship! Kennedy grinned as the crowd booed, Cena going to the Elimination Chamber match, but Kennedy then took his hanging microphone and began to declare himself one step up than Bobby Lashley! Kennedy then told Bobby that if he really wanted this, he'd be willing to give him a match for his prestige-building WWE Intercontinental Championship, at No Way Out! The crowd booed as Kennedy left, standing over Cena and Lashley. A graphic aired, promoting the fact that WrestleMania XXIV was only 55 days away, live on pay-per-view on March 30th, 2008 from Orlando, Florida. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting this Friday night's episode of SmackDown as Edge will present the Cutting Edge with Batista as his special guest; plus, the Undertaker goes one on one with Big Daddy V, and Theodore Long will announce the participants of their Elimination Chamber match! All this Friday night on the CW, 7/8 CT. 5) Melina and Beth Phoenix def. Maria and Mickie James @ 4:30This match was interesting, as we saw Mickie James come out with a seemingly much happier Maria, after leaving Santino Marella. They were taking on the Diva that beat Maria last week to retain her WWE Womens Championship, Beth Phoenix, and her fellow bully towards Maria in recent weeks, Melina. The "Glamazon" and Mickie James started off, these two knowing each other very well. Melina and Beth began to double team Mickie, keeping her away from Maria with an abdominal stretch, but Mickie soon broke free, a dropkick for Melina and an inverted atomic drop for Beth, and Maria got the tag, a flying crossbody taking Melina down and out of the ring, as she took Beth down with a DDT, covering before noticing an unhappy Santino Marella coming down to the ring, a bouquet of roses in hand, as Maria looked confused, telling Santino to leave until Melina suddenly struck her from behind, the Last Call putting Maria away for Beth to get the three. The crowd booed as Beth Phoenix and Melina celebrated their win, the "Glamazon" taking her WWE Womens Championship and leaving, whilst Mickie James helped Maria up in the ring. Santino Marella climbed onto the ring apron, the bouquet of roses in his hands, as he handed them to Mickie, who handed them to Maria and it seemed like Marella and Maria had sorted out their relationship issues, or the start of it at least. We then cut to the backstage area, where Jeff Hardy was standing by with Todd Grisham to ask for a few thoughts before his match with Chris Jericho taking on Randy Orton and Umaga. Hardy talked about how it's a nutty experience that he gets the chance to face Randy Orton eight days after he lost his WWE Championship opportunity at the Royal Rumble, but stranger things have happened. Hardy stated that he's met Umaga before, and he's not a nice dude in the ring, but everything will be chill once the "Charismatic Enigma" gets in there. Jeff told Y2J to stand back and watch, because Jeff was content that Chris Jericho would be going to WrestleMania XXIV to potentially wrestle Jeff Hardy for the WWE Championship! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |In the backstage area we saw Shawn Michaels walking away from his locker room with his bag over his shoulder, Mike Adamle seeing Shawn and asking the "Heartbreak Kid" if he had seen the guy that attacked Ric Flair yet. Shawn looked annoyed, as he stated that he hadn't, but next week when Triple H is here, DX will definitely go on a hunt for the attacker. Michaels continued walking, leaving the arena. We returned to RAW to see a graphic air, promoting ECW on Sci-Fi tomorrow as John Bradshaw Layfield will be there to explain his attack on CM Punk last Tuesday night. 6) Randy Orton and Umaga def. Chris Jericho and Jeff Hardy @ 11:39This was as expected a chaotic match as with the absence of Triple H, this featured three members of the finalized six men entering the Elimination Chamber in two weeks at No Way Out, all competing for Randy Orton's WWE Championship. The "Viper" and the "Samoan Bulldozer" teamed up well early on, as Jeff Hardy started off strong with Umaga, but as time went by, Hardy's stamina decreased, leading to Umaga catching Hardy with a huge Samoan drop! Umaga continued as he attacked Jeff, raking his back, the backbreaker connecting, and as that happened Umaga made the tag to the "Viper", Orton more confident than their Royal Rumble match as he came in and methodically stomped away at Jeff Hardy, then picking him up and dropping him with a DDT! Eventually, Hardy made the comeback whilst Orton had a sleeper locked in, and Hardy dropped Orton holding him by the legs, a legdrop connecting to the mid-section of the "One Man Dynasty"! Hardy got the tag to the Royal Rumble winner, as Y2J stormed into the ring, flying clotheslines to Umaga and Randy Orton, chops to Umaga in the corner, followed up with a fistfight with Orton! Y2J went for the Walls of Jericho on Orton, but Umaga came in from behind, the Samoan Spike to the throat of Y2J! Orton then finished Jericho off with the RKO to secure the three. The crowd booed as Chris Jericho remained down, clutching his throat after the Samoan Spike and RKO, as Randy Orton and Umaga celebrated their win. Orton was handed his WWE Champion, as he nailed Jeff Hardy with it sending him to the outside, down and out. The "Viper" then came face to face with Umaga, the "Samoan Bulldozer" wanting the WWE Championship perhaps, but that was then broken up as John Cena's theme hit, and Cena ran down to the ring, cornering Orton with lefts and rights! Cena then tried to fight Umaga off as well, but as Cena clotheslined Umaga to the canvas, he turned around to be driven to the canvas himself with the RKO! Orton posed with his title over all of his Elimination Chamber match opponents, as RAW went off the air! WWE HEAT - Sunday 10th February 2008 Jillian Hall def. - I loved RAW especially with Michaels and Cena as the final 2 men qualifying for the RAW Chamber and now the field is set for the RAW Chamber it will be Orton defending his WWE Championship against Cena, Hardy, HBK, Umaga and HHH
- Jericho says he will make his decision after No Way Out after the Elimination Chamber matches are said and done and after the World Heavyweight Championship match is said and done and Jericho is going to be at Smackdown, this is going to be awesome
- Haas beating Robbie was great and Carlito beating Hardcore Holly was great
- HBK beating Cade was great, mentor beating student
- And Cena beating Lashley
- And I love how my man Orton stood tall over all his opponents at the end of RAW

And now my promised reply... loving the sound of these matches. Brilliant opening segment, especially liked DX Duggan, haha. Interesting development between John Cena and Shawn Michaels. This seems like possibly one of the worst opening matches ever, but during this time period, it's acceptable. Glad that Charlie Haas won, was never a fan of The Highlanders. Poor Santino! :c A good victory for Carlito though, but Carlito shouts "Where's Carlito?!"... has he gone mad...? A good victory for Shawn Michaels, however it would have been interesting to see Lance Cade in the Elimination Chamber, I was a big fan of his. A good promo from Chris Jericho, and a huge Main Event made for tonight's Raw. John Cena defeating Bobby Lashley, was that video disqualification due to Kennedy interference? I think you should put DQ or Countout in your match headings. A good win for the heel Divas, and I love this stuff with Santino and Maria. Can't wait for JBL's explanation on ECW, I love the thought of him on ECW. A huge victory for the heel superstars in the Main Event, especially Orton pinning the Royal Rumble winner, Chris Jericho. MY MAN RANDY ORTON! YEAH! But seriously, good to see Orton standing tall, and I do see him retaining at No Way Out. Another great show.

ECW on Sci-Fi - Tuesday 5th February 2008 - Corpus Christi, TX NOW IN HD!A replay from last week's episode of ECW on Sci-Fi aired, as CM Punk was to meet Big Daddy V in V's last chance to gain the ECW World Championship officially, all in the confounds of a Steel-Cage. Big Daddy V and Punk fought well and hard, V torturing the "Straight Edge Superstar", as Big Daddy V tried to go for the win just for the Undertaker's gong to distract him, Punk narrowly winning via exiting the cage door. CM Punk celebrated his win at ringside, until John Bradshaw Layfield from RAW attacked the ECW World Champion, rendering Punk unconscious. The crowd booed as John Bradshaw Layfield was stood in the ring to loud boos, JBL stating that he had made an impact on the ECW brand last Tuesday night in Reading, Pennsylvania, and he did it for a reason. Layfield spoke out about his previous hatred of ECW, and now he sees it here, not a land of extreme it once was, but full of guys claiming they were "Wrestling Gods" in the making! Layfield claimed that that was his position, not CM Punk, not Elijah Burke or Shelton Benjamin, not John Morrison and the damned Miz! The fact that he's losing in the curtain jerker of the Royal Rumble pay-per-view whilst CM Punk gets a gimmick match, a World Championship and more importantly, a win? JBL talked about if Punk was on SmackDown during all of those nine months in 2004, he wouldn't have gotten past the cruiserweight division, let alone get close to JBL and his WWE Championship! JBL apologized for stealing ECW air time, but the real world needed to hear this, because he didn't like ECW, and he wanted to monopolize ECW! Layfield then brought out Armando Estrada, the ECW General Manager as he came out with a cigar in his mouth, and dollar bills in hands, as JBL announced that he had bribed Estrada into giving him an ECW World Championship shot against CM Punk tonight, and there's not a damn thing anybody can do about it! The crowd booed louder as JBL left. The opening video package for ECW on Sci-Fi aired, as we cut to the American Bank Arena for a sold out edition of ECW! Pyrotechnics went off, as Joey Styles and Tazz welcomed us to the show, making note of John Bradshaw Layfield challenging CM Punk for the ECW World Championship tonight! 1) Kofi Kingston def. Mike Knox @ 6:34This match was a strange way to kick off ECW on Sci-Fi tonight, as Mike Knox was without Kevin Thorn, the "Jamaican Sensation" trying to make his streak 3-0 against the big man, Mike Knox in this opening contest. Kofi started off strong, with several stiff kicks to Knox until the bearded Knox took advantage, a diving crossbody showing off the big man's agility, cutting Kingston's momentum short. Knox continued to pound away at Kofi, Knox quickly planning to put Kofi away with the Knox Out, but Kingston escaped it, then rebounding off of the ropes and delivering Trouble in Paradise to Knox for the three! Kofi Kingston celebrated his win to cheers, as Kofi had once again got the win in his third match, the "Jamaican Sensation" catching fire here on ECW! Mike Knox quickly left the ring, annoyed by his loss tonight. We go to the backstage area where CM Punk was shown with the ECW World Championship on his shoulder, as Eve Torres was standing by with the "Straight Edge Superstar", Eve asking Punk about the match last week, and the fact that he once again has to defend the title belt tonight against John Bradshaw Layfield. Punk told Eve to get the fact straight, as ECW World Champion, it is his responsibility to make sure that title becomes more prestigious than most championships in sports entertainment. So he's defended it twice against Big Daddy V in the last nine days, Tables match, Steel-Cage match, whatever. But tonight, if JBL really wants to come down and prove that he deserves this title? So be it. But Punk told Eve that he won't stop fighting until he has this title in his hands after making the so-called "Wrestling God" Go To Sleep! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We returned to the backstage area to see John Morrison and the Miz confidently walking down a hallway before spotting Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin, as the WWE Tag Team Champions walked over and wished them luck in their match tonight, because even though a win's a win, they'll never have what it takes to challenge for their WWE Tag Team Championships! Burke and Benjamin simply looked at Morrison and Miz; the "Gold Standard" saying "We'll see", before Burke and Benjamin walked away. 2) Mark Henry (w/Matt Striker and Big Daddy V) def. Colin Delaney (w/Tommy Dreamer) @ 2:47This match was to earn Colin Delaney a WWE contract, but in order to do that, he would have had to defeat the "World's Strongest Man" from SmackDown, Mark Henry. To make matters worse, Big Daddy V AND Matt Striker were in Mark's corner, as Delaney tried to keep a distance away from Mark Henry, Colin still hurting from an ass-kicking from the Great Khali last Friday night on SmackDown. Tommy Dreamer cheered him on though, as the "Innovator of Violence" kept Big Daddy V and Matt Striker away from Delaney when Mark sent him tumbling to the ringside area. Henry soon started to pound away at Delaney, and he finished him off with a gigantic World's Strongest Slam for the win. The crowd booed as Mark Henry shrugged off another victory, as Colin Delaney clutched his ribs off of another loss, Tommy Dreamer then climbing into the ring, managing to attack Mark Henry, as well as knocking Matt Striker off of the apron with a ingapore cane shot! But Big Daddy V then grabbed him from behind, the Ghetto Drop laying out the "Innovator of Violence"! Big Daddy V took a microphone, as he had something to say; after the commercial break! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We returned to ECW on Sci-Fi tonight as Big Daddy V was stood in the ring without Matt Striker or Mark Henry, the "Mastodon" with a microphone in hand as he began to address the situation with the Undertaker, and how he'll never forget that it was the "Phenom" who cost the "Mastodon" the ECW World Championship last Tuesday night. He claimed that CM Punk got lucky because of the Undertaker's involvement, but this time the "Deadman" has done it, because the "Deadman" will be a deadman after Friday night on SmackDown. The crowd booed when suddenly the theme of the Undertaker hit, and the "Phenom" himself appeared on the HD Tron, 'Taker talking about how Big Daddy V and his friends have schemed one time too many against the Grim Reaper, but this Friday on SmackDown he was going to put Big Daddy V away once and for all. 'Taker announced that V would rest in peace as the fans cheered, the "Mastodon" getting hyped up, not wanting to wait until Friday! An advertisement aired, promoting WWE No Way Out, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, February 17th 2008 from Las Vegas, Nevada. 3) Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin def. Stevie Richards and Balls Mahoney @ 4:23This match was a test for Shelton Benjamin and Elijah Burke's teamwork, as they took on two ECW Originals, Balls Mahoney starting off with the "Elijah Experience", easily taking Elijah Burke down with every collar-and-elbow tie-up attempt, Balls and Stevie Richards managing to keep Burke under their control, until Stevie sent Burke into the corner and went for the splash in the corner, Burke instead clubbing Burke with a stiff elbow to the throat, and from there the "Gold Standard" came in and had his way with Richards, including a double backbreaker connecting. Richards tried to make a comeback, but it wasn't meant to be as he ducked a clothesline and Benjamin nailed a bridging German suplex for the win! The crowd booed as Shelton Benjamin and Elijah Burke celebrated their win, Balls Mahoney and the official helping Stevie Richards out of the ring and helping him to the back, meanwhile John Morrison and The Miz ran down to the ring, the "Shaman of Sexy" and the "Chick Magnet" clocking Benjamin and Burke with the WWE Tag Team Championship belts! The crowd booed as Benjamin and Burke remained down on the canvas, the Tag Champions showing their superiority! The RAW Rebound aired, as it showed highlights of Shawn Michaels investigating and interrogating several RAW superstars that could have helped attack Ric Flair at the Royal Rumble two weeks earlier. Michaels tried several superstars, but nothing came of it. Meanwhile, Chris Jericho found himself arguing with the WWE Champion, Randy Orton over if they would be facing off at WrestleMania XXIV, when suddenly William Regal came out and booked a tag team main event. It would be Umaga and Randy Orton taking on Jeff Hardy and Chris Jericho, but in the end it would be Orton pinning the Royal Rumble winner, Y2J to secure the three; but could he get the job done in two weeks time at No Way Out! John Bradshaw Layfield was shown making his way down a corridor, and up next the RAW superstar would be challenging for the ECW World Championship against CM Punk, our main event was up next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |4) John Bradshaw Layfield def. CM Punk to WIN the ECW World Championship @ 12:01This was a rocketbuster of a main event, as the "Straight Edge Superstar" had quite the fan reaction in comparison to the virtually despised RAW superstar, the so-called "Wrestling God" taking CM Punk down in the early goings, using the power difference to his advantage, but Punk soon fired back, taking JBL into the corner and nailing him with a hiptoss. Punk wasn't wasting any time, but it was probably that what caused his downfall, as JBL used his experience as a factor to wear down Punk, dodging a springboard crossbody from the ECW World Champion, then dropping an elbow into the back of the "Straight Edge Superstar". Layfield worked over the back of Punk and applied a backbreaker stretch, bridging Punk backwards over his knee and wanting the champ to submit, but the ECW superstar flat-out refused, firing back and taking Layfield down with a flying clothesline! Punk followed with another, and CM Punk soon nailed his step-up knee to Layfield in the corner, applying the Anaconda Vise in the corner! Layfield was in pain and reeling, as Punk dropped the hold and went for the GTS, Layfield slipping out and nailing the powerbomb on Punk! JBL covered, one-two-NO! Punk fired out, as JBL was stunned, arguing with the referee. That's when Edge appeared, SmackDown's World Heavyweight Champion walking down to ringside and spectating for some reason, and Punk noticed him, a suicide dive through the ropes to Edge! Punk then climbed back up to the top rope, but Layfield crotched Punk! Layfield went for the superplex, but Punk blocked it and sent Layfield down to the canvas, Punk capitalizing and going for a diving elbow drop, but Edge got on the apron! Punk fought him off whilst Layfield got back up and flipped Punk off of the top rope, the second powerbomb connecting, and we had a new ECW World Champion!? The crowd booed loudly as John Bradshaw Layfield celebrated his win, Edge standing at ringside, satisfied with what he did, but for what reason!? The official handed JBL his ECW World Championship as CM Punk remained down, and fans everywhere couldn't believe that this had happened! Layfield celebrated, the RAW superstar having won the ECW World Championship, as ECW on Sci-Fi went off the air.

- Yes JBL is the new ECW World Champion and now that JBL is ECW World Champion, he can rule this brand of ECW and truly make it his show and what I am most shocked about is the fact that the World Heavyweight Champion Edge shows up on ECW and essentially costs Punk the ECW Title, now that is what I don't get. What did Punk ever do to Edge to deserve this? But nonetheless I am glad that JBL is the new ECW Champion and hopefully you give him a long reign with the belt considering he was the longest-reigning WWE Champion in Smackdown history, he can do that again but on ECW by being ECW Champion and actually making this belt relevant and with JBL holding this title he can actually make it on the level of the World Heavyweight Championship and the WWE Championship
Burke and Benjamin look to be impressive each time they team together, Miz and Morrison seem to have competition with Burke and Benjamin on the scene and then Miz & Morrison attacking them, will this be a heel tag team vs. heel tag team feud or will one team turn face in the process? If so, I would love to see Burke and Benjamin turn face
Undertaker showing up on ECW was awesome too, with him showing up via the titantron and playing his mind games with Big Daddy V and Mark Henry and Matt Striker was great, and I personally can't wait until Smackdown to see Taker put an end to Big Daddy V once and for all
Kofi Kingston I love that he is now on an undefeated streak here on ECW, and especially since he is, I hope Kofi is in line for a huge push on ECW
And I love JBL's opening promo to start off the show

A solid start with JBL explaining his actions towards CM Punk. Personally got a kick out of him still displaying his hatred for The Miz. Layfield seemed on fire during the promo. Really something I would've loved to have seen on TV. A good start with Kofi Kingston expanding his undefeated streak to 3-0. Wonder how long it'll be before he's placed into an actual program. Expected to see Colin Delaney decimated by Mark Henry. More interested in seeing where you take this pairing of Henry and Big Daddy V and their feud with The Undertaker. Good win for Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin. Really enjoying this team, and looking forward to their feud with The Miz and John Morrison. Big fans of all four, but wouldn't be upset with either outcome. Absolutely shocked to see JBL capture the ECW Championship this soon. Was expecting it to come at No Way Out. Intrigued by Edge's involvement here and where it goes. A great edition of ECW. Excited to see where everything goes from here.

Raw - I think that opening promo with DX Duggan would annoy the out of me IRL. Realistic though I suppose. The interaction between Michaels & Cena though was well written. Charlie Haas/Robbie McAlister is meh, I don't think anyone would get behind this Charlie Haas push as The Master of Technical Wrasslin'. The Santino/Carlito segments are a lot of fun to read. Carlito defeating Hardcore Holly is fine to further this mini feud, seems like this may be a catalyst to turn Santino face and feud with Carlito at the moment. Michaels/Cade is a solid elimination chamber qualifying match, glad Michaels won. Jericho/Orton segment was decent. A bit surprised at a Cena/Lashley match up in the middle of a Raw, feels more like a main event or PPV rematch bout, liked the spot of Kennedy's microphone dropping, very creative and a nice way to further that feud. Cena going over is the correct choice as well. Solid Jeff Hardy promo, I liked that he mentioned Jericho could be facing him, could cause some friction between the team. Good main event between the two teams. Liked the finish after the match with the brawl and Cena running down. Overall a solid if unspectacular Raw in the build to NWO. ECW - Loved the JBL promo to open the show, well written segment. A nice win for Kofi, hopefully you move him into a feud soon. Good promo by CM Punk, I'm liking this feud. Another intriguing segment between Miz/Morrison & Burke/Benjamin, nice slow build for a rivalry. Mark Henry defeating Delaney is fine as was the Big Daddy V promo, hopefully the V/Taker stuff ends on Smackdown. Decent win for Burke & Benjamin, nice post match attack by Miz/Morrison as well, I'm enjoying the team of Burke & Benjamin and the feud between the two teams. Shocked that JBL won the main event, it's definitely an interesting prospect, right now I'm on the fence with regards to it and I'll take a wait and see approach, I'll do the same with Edge & CM Punk as well and see where you take them. Overall a pretty solid couple of episodes and has me intrigued for more, keep it up.

WWE SmackDown! - Friday 8th February 2008 - Corpus Christi, TX Dark Match: Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore def. Kenny Dykstra and Nunzio @ 5:35 after the moonsault from Wang Yang on Nunzio.Dark Match: Vladimir Kozlov def. Domino @ 1:49 after the Shoulderbreaker. The opening video package for SmackDown aired, as we cut to the American Bank Center for Friday Night SmackDown! Pyrotechnics went off, and the 'WWEHD' sign appeared whilst Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman welcomed us to another exciting edition of SmackDown, only nine days away from our next pay-per-view extravaganza, No Way Out!
The theme of SmackDown's Co-General Manager hit to kick things off tonight, Theodore Long making his way down to the ring, greeted by quite a positive reaction from the capacity crowd in the sold-out American Bank Center. Theodore Long stood in the ring with a microphone as he revealed that he has done some searching in the past seven days, as he took us back to last Friday night where he announced the Elimination Chamber match, for the winner to go to WrestleMania XXIV. He talked about how five men were chosen for the Elimination Chamber match at No Way Out last Saturday afternoon on WWE.com, then presenting the five men; Montel Vontavious Porter, Kane, Finlay, Mark Henry and the Undertaker. Long then decided to announce the sixth man in that match, when suddenly the theme of Edge hit, and out came the overconfident World Heavyweight Champion, as the "Rated R Superstar" climbed into the ring with a huge smirk on his face. Long asked Edge what he could do for him, as Edge told Long to stop whining on about who was going to face the "Rated R Superstar" for his World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania, because he's taken a look at everybody in that match, and he can proudly say that he's defeated all of them at some point in their careers! The crowd booed, as Long smiled, telling Edge that he liked his arrogance, but since he's out here he feels the need to reveal who Edge would be facing here tonight! The fans cheered, as Edge pondered who, Long responding by saying that it was the same guy who he was about to announce as the sixth man in the Elimination Chamber, and the same man Edge cost the ECW World Championship last Tuesday night...CM Punk! The fans cheered as Long smiled and left, Edge left shaking his head in the ring.
Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman discussed what they had just heard, then showing off a graphic of what else we can expect to see tonight, as the Undertaker meets Big Daddy V one on one! But not only that, as up next we will see John Morrison and the Miz take on Jesse and Festus in Jesse and Festus' return match from four weeks ago, next!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
We returned to SmackDown to see a replay from the January 4th episode of SmackDown, where John Morrison and the Miz took on Jesse and Festus, and whilst Morrison and Miz reigned victorious, they continued the attack on the countryboys, the WWE Tag Team Champions leaving Festus with a concussion after a steel chair shot to the skull; a feat that Festus was out with mentally for various weeks. But tonight is their chance for revenge!
1) John Morrison and The Miz def. Jesse and Festus by disqualification in a non-title match @ 6:18 This was more heated than usual, as this week Festus didn't really respond to the ring bell, as Jesse started off, managing to fare well in a test of strength with The Miz, the "Chick Magnet" then using his overconfidence to put him in the driver's seat, tripping Jesse up and then starting to work the shoulder of the smaller countryboy. John Morrison got the tag, as the "Friday Night Delight" got into the ring, Morrison taking Jesse down with a dropkick and then once again going to work on the shoulder and arm of Jesse. Morrison and Miz double-teamed Jesse, keeping him isolated from the immobile Festus on the apron, as the WWE Tag Team Champions certainly had their work cut out for them. But soon Miz wanted to finish it with a Reality Check but Jesse reversed it into a spear, then tagging in Festus! Festus didn't move though, and that's when Jesse panicked, slapping Festus across the face, and Festus started "Hulking" up, running in and taking everyone down with clotheslines, a sidewalk slam connecting to John Morrison! Meanwhile, as Morrison and Miz backed up onto the outside area, Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin jumped the WWE Tag Team Champions!
The fans cheered as Elijah Burke sent The Miz into the ring steps, Shelton Benjamin with the Paydirt on John Morrison right on the floor, getting some retribution on the WWE Tag Team Champions for last Tuesday night on ECW! Jesse and Festus then joined in, Festus dropping Morrison with a big boot! Burke and Benjamin backed up the rampway, smiles on their faces.
We returned to the backstage area as Edge was shown with the World Heavyweight Championship in hands in his dressing room when Vickie Guerrero came along, seductively running her fingers through the "Rated R Superstar"s hair and asking him what was wrong. Edge told Vickie that he was getting sick of this silly conspiracy to get the deserving man, Edge away from the World Heavyweight Championship; the belt that he won fair and square. Vickie told Edge to relax, because she had a way of rectifying things tonight. The Co-General Manager told her boyfriend that she would go and speak to Theodore Long.
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
As we returned to SmackDown, CM Punk was shown standing by with Josh Mathews, as the fans cheered for the "Straight Edge Superstar". Mathews noted that Punk lost the ECW World Championship to John Bradshaw Layfield last Tuesday night on ECW, so he must have a lot on his mind. Punk replied, stating that he grew used to not having a hold of the title, thanks to Big Daddy V, but he was going to get his revenge on JBL this Tuesday night on ECW on Sci-Fi without a doubt. Meanwhile, he was going to No Way Out in nine days to participate in the Elimination Chamber. And if he wins? He goes on to WrestleMania XXIV for a World Heavyweight Championship shot. What if Punk was to become the first ever double World Heavyweight Champion in history? Punk told Edge that he didn't know what his problem was, but tonight it'll end, and CM Punk will reign supreme after making the World Heavyweight Champion Go To Sleep!
We then see Theodore Long in his office, as there was a knock on the door, Vickie Guerrero coming in with a smile on her face. Long asked Vickie what she wanted, as the Co-General Manager talked about Edge and how he wasn't happy with the idea of him facing CM Punk tonight. Long asked Vickie what there was to do with it, as Guerrero asked Long to reason with her, and at least change it. Long laughed, telling Vickie that her request was definitely denied. He said that CM Punk wanted revenge for Tuesday night, and here's his chance. But Batista's going to be in action still tonight. Because he will team with Finlay to do battle with MVP and Mark Henry! The fans cheered, as Vickie shrugged, telling Teddy that it was the best thing he could do, still not happy with Long.
2) Michelle McCool and Kelly Kelly def. Victoria and Layla @ 4:06 This was a combination of feuds, as Michelle McCool was out here to continue her recurring feud on SmackDown with Victoria, whereas Layla took on Kelly Kelly once again. These four divas brawled throughout, as McCool and Layla started, McCool dominating; out here tonight without Chuck Palumbo and Jamie Noble due to their upcoming match with Dave Taylor and Drew McIntyre of the United Kingdom later tonight. Layla got in a cheap shot on McCool, as she tagged in Victoria, and the two managed to wear down McCool, keeping her isolated from Kelly Kelly as well, but Kelly soon made a comeback, a hurricanrana actually connecting on Victoria! Kelly then followed up, the fameasser connecting on Layla for the victory.
The fans cheered as Michelle McCool dropkicked Victoria out of the ring, then raising the ECW diva, Kelly Kelly's hand high, the beautiful blondes managing to defeat Layla and Victoria tonight.
A graphic aired, showing John Bradshaw Layfield with the ECW World Championship held high from this past Tuesday night on ECW on Sci-Fi, and this Monday night on RAW will will see a victory celebration courtesy of the "Wrestling God"!
We then went to the backstage area, as Batista and Finlay were making their way to the ring with Hornswoggle, and they will do battle with Mark Henry and MVP, next!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
An advertisement aired, promoting WWE No Way Out, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, February 17th 2008 from Las Vegas, Nevada.
We returned to the backstage area as John Morrison and the Miz were shown out of breath, the two discussing what had just happened to them, Morrison talking about how Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin were clearly jealous of their success as WWE Tag Team Champions. But that's when Theodore Long appeared, the SmackDown Co-General Manager once again appearing as he told the two that it was jealousy, but it was also because in their mind, the ECW superstars didn't deserve SmackDown's title belts! The crowd cheered as Long told the two that he wanted to put their success to the test at No Way Out, because they'd be taking on Jesse and Festus, Shelton Benjamin and Elijah Burke, and the winner of Chuck Palumbo and Jamie Noble & the United Kingdom later tonight, in a four-corner elimination match for the WWE Tag Team Championships! Morrison and Miz were left viciously angry.
3) Mark Henry and Montel Vontavious Porter (w/Matt Striker) def. Batista and Finlay (w/Hornswoggle) @ 13:38 This was bound to be a hard-fought match, as three of these men were going to be involved in the Elimination Chamber match in nine days to determine the number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXIV; meanwhile that champion could have very well been Batista. The "Animal" took down MVP in the early moments, managing to keep him down with several clotheslines and spears, then allowing Finlay to come in and take on his rival, the WWE United States Champion, Montel Vontavious Porter. Finlay took it to Porter, several chops connecting in the corner, but soon MVP's sly tendencies took down Finlay, an armdrag followed by a cheap kick to the head. Porter worked away at the "Fighting Irishman", before tagging in the "World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry! | COMMERCIAL BREAK | Henry worked over Finlay and wore him down, trying to force him into submission with the bear hug, but after several moments, Finlay fired back, just to walk into a huge sidewalk slam from Mark Henry! Henry seemed convinced to finish it, as he went for the World's Strongest Slam, but Finlay slipped out, two clotheslines and a dropkick sending Mark into the ropes, locking him up in them! Matt Striker ran over to try and free his client, but Hornswoggle came along and dragged Striker down, then headbutting Striker downstairs! Finlay meanwhile managed to get the hot tag to Batista just in time, the "Animal" rushing in and taking down anything he saw, a spear connecting to Mark Henry! Batista teased that it was time for the Batista Bomb, but that's when Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins ran down to ringside! Batista took Ryder off the apron, but Mark Henry then got up and delivered the World's Strongest Slam to Batista for the three.
The crowd booed as MVP slid out of the ring, Finlay rushing into the ring, but Mark Henry had left the ring by this point. The WWE United States Champion tried to raise Mark's hand at ringside, but Henry refused, instead glaring at MVP, potentially to heaten things up for No Way Out. Meanwhile, Batista sat up in the ring, looking furious as he knew La Familia had just cost him this match.
In the backstage area we once again saw Edge, Chavo Guerrero and Vickie Guerrero, the "Rated R Superstar" smiling as he saw Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins come through the curtain, Edge high-fiving his Edgeheads for what they did, in costing the "Animal" the tag team match moments ago. The Edgeheads walked away as Vickie then told Edge that they needed to do something about Theodore Long, because he was getting in the way of everything Edge did. Edge told Vickie that he had a plan, the two then walking away.
Soon after, Big Daddy V was shown making his way down a dark hallway, without Matt Striker or Mark Henry, and up next he was going to go one on one with the "Phenom" the Undertaker, right here after the commercial break!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
4) The Undertaker def. Big Daddy V @ 7:29 This was quite a heated match, as Big Daddy V had perhaps taken down the "Phenom" and the "Big Red Monster" Kane with Mark Henry one time too many, and the Undertaker had ticked off Big Daddy V by costing him his final chance at gaining the ECW World Championship last week on ECW on Sci-Fi. Big Daddy V met the Undertaker in the ring, several blows delivered to the "Deadman", but 'Taker fired back, taking Big Daddy V off of his feet with a flying lariat. The Undertaker followed up as he went for a Chokeslam, but V easily dismantled it, the "Mastodon" then delivering a tilt-a-whirl slam on the "Phenom"! Big Daddy V played to the crowd as he cornered Undertaker, several shoulder thrusts weakening down the Undertaker, another man who would go to the Elimination Chamber match in nine days. Big Daddy V then followed up with a huge elbow drop, and V seemed to be wanting to go for the ribs, but 'Taker soon sat up after a second elbow drop, and 'Taker started to absorb the blows of V as the "Mastodon" backed up, the "Deadman" delivering a huge body slam to V! 'Taker soon followed up with the Chokeslam, covering just for a two count! 'Taker couldn't actually believe it, as V soon fought back, taking 'Taker down and going for the big splash just for 'Taker to sit up and avoid the splash! 'Taker then got up and suddenly applied a modified gogoplata, V trying to escape this unique submission, but V finally passed out, blood spewing from his mouth!
The Undertaker celebrated his win as the fans cheered, but that's when Mark Henry then ran down to the ring, the "World's Strongest Man" trading blows with the "Phenom"! The same man that cost the "Deadman" the World Heavyweight Championship last year and took him out for various months was here, and the Undertaker wanted payback, but Mark easily weakened him, Big Daddy V trying to join in after regaining consciousness, but that's when flames hit the stage, and the fans exploded as the "Big Red Monster" Kane headed down for the ring, saving the Undertaker from certain beatdown! Kane and 'Taker teamed up to deliver a double Chokeslam to Mark Henry, then Kane clotheslining Big Daddy V out of the ring, as the Brothers of Destruction had cleared house of these two monsters tonight, celebrating together in the middle of the ring.
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
We returned to SmackDown to see La Familia in the backstage area, seemingly discussing something, perhaps to do with Theodore Long!
5) The United Kingdom (w/DH Smith) def. Jamie Noble and Chuck Palumbo to advance into the Four-Corner Elimination match @ 5:31 This was a rematch from several weeks ago on SmackDown, where Jamie Noble and Chuck Palumbo were the first WWE superstars to be attacked by this United Kingdom faction. Drew McIntyre and Dave Taylor competed tonight, as McIntyre from Scotland started things off with Jamie Noble, Noble managing to outwrestle McIntyre using his experience as the key, a dropkick off of the ropes stunning McIntyre. Palumbo then got the tag, as he came in and cleared house of the United Kingdom, even DH Smith at ringside. But Dave Taylor then came in, going right to work on the knee of the mean biker. Taylor tried to keep Palumbo down, a single-legged Boston crab applied, then turning it into an STF to boot, as this British veteran had Palumbo right where he wanted him. But finally Jamie Noble got the hot tag, Noble rushing in with a hurricanrana to Taylor, then taking McIntyre off of the apron, Noble preparing for the fireman's carry gutbuster on Taylor, just for McIntyre to illegally come in with the Scot Drop, Palumbo fighting McIntyre off in the corner! Meanwhile, Taylor covered and managed to get the three to loud boos.
The crowd booed as the United Kingdom rolled out of the ring, Chuck Palumbo meanwhile attending to Jamie Noble. Palumbo looked quite angry with the situation, but the bigger fact of this match was that the United Kingdom were going to No Way Out to join Shelton Benjamin and Elijah Burke & Jesse and Festus in challenging for the WWE Tag Team Championships!
We then cut to Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman at ringside, as they spoke about what an electric night it was, then hyping next week's episode of SmackDown where the Brothers of Destruction will reunite to take on Big Daddy V and Mark Henry! They then hyped up No Way Out in nine day, the official theme song being "Fake It" by Seether from their 'Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces' album. They hyped up the current card for the show, as the "Rated R Superstar" defends the World Heavyweight Championship against the "Animal" Batista; Randy Orton will defend the WWE Championship against Jeff Hardy, Triple H, Umaga, John Cena and Shawn Michaels in RAW's Elimination Chamber match; In SmackDown's Elimination Chamber match, the Undertaker, Mark Henry, Finlay, MVP, CM Punk and Kane will all fight for contention to the World Heavyweight Championship, and the SmackDown main event at WrestleMania XXIV! Plus, we will hear which championship Chris Jericho will challenge for at WrestleMania, and as we have just learned, John Morrison and the Miz will prove their success in a Four-Corner Elimination match for the WWE Tag Team Championships against Jesse and Festus, Shelton Benjamin and Elijah Burke & the United Kingdom! All in nine days on pay-per-view.
Edge was shown with Vickie Guerrero backstage, as Lena Yada wanted to catch a last minute word with the World Heavyweight Champion before his match with CM Punk, asking why he cost Punk the ECW World Championship last Tuesday night. Edge simply told Lena that he didn't like Punk, and he never has. He claimed that Punk had that 'better than you' mindset, and it drove him crazy. Edge claimed himself as a real World's champion, not some little, unimpressive imbecile like Punk. Edge told Lena to get out of his face, as he prepared to kick Punk's ass. At that moment, he stopped talking as Chris Jericho from RAW appeared, Y2J telling Edge to hold onto that title, because it could be him that Edge had to worry about; not Batista, not the winner of the Elimination Chamber, not anybody. Edge smirked, telling Y2J that he always hated him before leaving Y2J heatedly glaring at Edge and Vickie.
CM Punk was shown once again warming up for the main event, and up next, the former ECW World Champion will seek a gain in momentum when he takes on the World Heavyweight Champion, Edge!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
A graphic aired, promoting the fact that WrestleMania XXIV was only 51 days away, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, March 30th 2008 from Orlando, Florida.
6) CM Punk def. Edge (w/Chavo Guerrero) in a non-title match @ 16:23 This looked to be an amazing match, as these two settled their score here in the main event of Friday Night SmackDown. The "Straight Edge Superstar" was here to make a name for himself on a higher tier than ECW on Sci-Fi, just three days separated from his ECW World Championship loss to John Bradshaw Layfield. The "Rated R Superstar" totally underestimated Punk in the early moments, easily getting a one-up on Punk as he flew around with his typical dynamics, Edge cutting his momentum short with a huge flapjack taking Punk down! Edge continued the attack, stomping away at Punk and cornering him with several lefts and rights. Edge then ran at Punk just for Punk to leap over him, then rolling Edge backwards, a bulldog connecting taking Edge down to the canvas for a near fall! The "Straight Edge Superstar" then continued, kicking the ribs of Edge repeatedly until Punk went to run away, clutching Edge and delivering the Edge-o-matic on Punk. Chavo Guerrero's at presence also served as a distraction, as Punk sent Edge out onto the apron, Edge flipping Punk onto the apron with him, and Chavito brought Punk off the apron, just for Punk to knock him down with a superkick! Edge then came off of the apron with a crossbody, working away at the back of Punk, pounding away at Punk as well. The World Heavyweight Champion soon set up for the Spear, but Punk leapfrogged it and nailed the GTS, covering, but Chavo placed Edge's foot on the bottom rope! That brought out Batista, Edge's opponent for No Way Out as he came down to ringside and chased Chavo away, Edge and Punk meanwhile trading blows in the ring, and Batista got on the apron, Edge distracted, and Punk took advantage with the GTS, pinning the "Rated R Superstar"!
The fans cheered as CM Punk celebrated his win, the "Straight Edge Superstar" picking up a second win over the World Heavyweight Champion, Edge in the space of two months here in 2008! The "Rated R Superstar" meanwhile remained down, as Batista stood over him with the World Heavyweight Championship, helping Edge up, just to take him back down with a Spinebuster! The "Animal" stood tall over his No Way Out opponent before cutting away.
In the backstage area we saw Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins suddenly stuff Theodore Long into a car, Long handcuffed and duct taped, as the two Edgeheads climbed into the car and drove out of the American Bank Center! SmackDown went off the air.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown! Apologies for not keeping up with this. Loving the graphic. Montel Vontavious Porter, Kane, Finlay, Mark Henry and the Undertaker all in the Elimination Chamber match is an awesome line up. Edge versus Punk tonight and Punk being in the chamber is also, awesome. That match should be a killer. Decent opening contest between the WWE Tag Team Champions and Jesse and Festus, like Burke and Benjamin getting involved. A match between the teams should be great. Nice series of segments hyping of the main event. Never really cared for the Smackdown or ECW divas until Lay-Cool came on the scene, really. I'm actually interested to see what happens with JBL as ECW Champion..... I imagine some amazing segments coming out of that. Four-corner elimination match at No Way Out will be great, hopefully Burke/Benjamin or the United Kingdom take the straps. Nice first hour main event, and it had a nice finish with La Familia costing Batista the match. Nice usage of the Hell Gates by The Undertaker, I recall him first using the move to cause Big Daddy V to bleed. Average post match brawl with the Brothers of Destruction and Mark Henry/Big Daddy V..... hopefully they finally settle everything in a tag match next week. Expected the United Kingdom to go over, and rightfully so. Loved the detail in hyping the No Way Out card. Another Edge segment? I know he was heavily featured in 2008, but it's just been overkill tonight. A near twenty minute main event is great, that's why I loved Smackdown in 2007 and 2008. Always had some great main events on the show. Liked the finish with Batista costing Edge the match. Oh man, didn't expect to see the Edgeheads to kidnap Teddy Long, interesting angle. Another great show, and the Road to Wrestlemania has been great thus far.

Solid opening promo with Teddy and Edge announcing the main event between CM Punk & Edge. Nice opening contest between J-Mo & Miz and Jesse & Festus good win for the tag champs and I liked Burke & Benjamin attacking after and hinting at the face turn. The segments with Edge/Vickie/Punk & Long were all good. Four corner elimination match should be good. Henry/MVP vs Batista/Finlay was good as well. Big pinfall victory for Henry.Undertaker going over V is good, the post match stuff was fine as well. United Kingdom going over was expected and good looking forward to the 4 way tag team. A lot of Edge on this show it must be leading somewhere. The promo on Punk was really well written as was the interaction with Jericho. Good main event between Edge & Punk, Batista getting payback and a big win for Punk. Interesting to see what you do with the Edgeheads capturing Long.
Overall a good Smackdown. If I had one complaint it is that your shows seem to follow a specific pattern (Smackdown expecially) if you understand what I mean. As in an Edge promo to open the show, Teddy Long pitting him against rivals in the main event, a BOD/Strikers fatties match in the middle as well as a UK match to put them over, like to mixed up a bit.
But overall good stuff, the storylines progressing into NWO and WM are looking good, keep it up.

First off, it's ECW time. Fantastic promo by John Bradshaw Layfield to open up, and he's bribed his way into an ECW Championship Match? That's huge. A great victory for Kofi Kingston, obviously a bright future for him, but I do hope you give Mike Knox something relevant to do, he's a character that I miss dearly in real life. An obvious victory for Mark Henry over Colin Delaney, and I love the dominance that he and Big Daddy V have been showing lately. Good segment with Big Daddy V and The Undertaker, their feud sounds really interest. I've always been a Viscera fan. This was a good victory for Shelton Benjamin and Elijah Burke, and an attack by the WWE Tag Team Champions just further enhances this feud, but Benjamin and Burke aren't a tag team I think should hold the belts, personally. Holy cow! Was not expecting to see JBL take the ECW Championship, that's huge! JBL on ECW sounds really interesting, and I can't wait to see where you go with it, but what was Edge's involvement? Will CM Punk be moving to SmackDown to feud with Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship? If so, me likey.
And now for SmackDown. A realistic opening segment with Edge interrupting Theodore Long, and with CM Punk being revealed as the sixth entrant, I see him getting the victory adn facing Edge at WrestleMania for the World Heavyweight Championship, getting him off of ECW, that would be awesome. A disqualification victory for the WWE Tag Team Champions was good as once again, their feud with Burke and Benjamin is progressed, but again, I hope there is no title change, I just can't get into this tag team for some reason. Maybe a bit more time? I actually see CM Punk winning tonight, would be a great way to get him truly noticed. Batista and Finlay versus MVP and Mark Henry is a nice matching of superstars. An average Divas match. That's a big WWE Tag Team Championships Match, alongside two Elimination Chamber Matches at the Pay-Per-View, don't know if that's too big. A good victory for the heels here with La Familia stopping Batista from winning. The Undertaker over Big Daddy V, followed by a Brothers of Destruction reunion... couldn't be better. The United Kingdom (nice use of the name from WWE '12, haha) were definitely the right choice here with their current role, and I could honestly see them leaving with the WWE Tag Team Championships at No Way Out. As I predicted, a good victory for CM Punk, really getting him noticed. Even with the interference from Batista, it still made Punk World Heavyweight Championship material and hopefully he wins at No Way Out and then goes to WrestleMania. Shocking ending with The Edgeheads kidnapping Teddy, what's going on there?
A pair of fine shows there, Dan. Can't wait for more.
