WWE Monday Night RAW - Monday 14th January 2008 - Mobile, AL A replay from last Monday night aired, Mr McMahon choosing to punish the superstars that got involved with his loss to Ric Flair the week prior. This meant that Chris Jericho had to face Umaga whilst Triple H had to face John Bradshaw Layfield. Jeff Hardy then courageously interrupted the Chairman, McMahon forcing him to defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Mr Kennedy. Jericho fought Umaga in a First Blood match with thanks to RAW Roulette, and nearly beat Umaga before JBL got involved with a steel chair. But that's when Triple H got involved, and their Falls Count Anywhere match began; these two fighting all over the building but despite interference from Carlito, Hunter came out victorious. But lastly, Hardy defended the IC title with everything he had inside of a Steel-Cage, but a risk taking move, the Swanton Bomb from the top of the cage seemed to have Kennedy put away...until Randy Orton slammed the cage door in Hardy's face. Kennedy escaped and won the title, and the WWE Champion proceeded to assault Hardy as RAW went off the air. The opening video package for Monday Night RAW aired, as we cut to the live Mobile Civic Center in Alabama, pyrotechnics going off. Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler introduced us to the show, just two weeks away from the Royal Rumble. The theme of Mr Kennedy hit to kick off the show tonight, and out came the new WWE Intercontinental Champion to loud boos, Kennedy quickly making his way to the ring and wasting no time in showing off his newly won championship. Kennedy climbed into the ring and reached up for the microphone, declaring himself the new WWE Intercontinental Champion. Kennedy continued, talking about how everybody doubted that he'd beat Jeff Hardy, but he did. Everybody doubted that he would reach the big time. But Kennedy proved everybody wrong and here he is today one of the greatest wrestlers in the WWE. Kennedy continued, calling himself charismatic and the most agile performer as well, and that next week on Sunday he will add another accolade to his collection when he wins the 2008 Royal Rumble match! The crowd booed at this, when suddenly the theme of Randy Orton hit to a loud chorus of boos. The WWE Champion smirked as he made his way down to the ring, Orton looking Kennedy in the eyes and telling the new WWE Intercontinental Champion that he can come out here and brag to him all he pleases. But it doesn't change the fact that it was Orton who helped Kennedy win that title last week. Orton went on to state that no matter if Kennedy won the Rumble, he better decide to face the World Heavyweight Champion. Because Orton would be happy to punt Mr Kennedy right in the skull, and end his "charismatic and agile" career at WrestleMania. The fans cheered loudly, when suddenly Jeff Hardy's music hit, and out came the former WWE Intercontinental Champion! Hardy talked about the arrangement that these had together, and how it's funny to see them arguing. He states that Kennedy would win the Rumble, and that Orton claims that he will be the WWE Champion at WrestleMania to meet Kennedy. That's wrong, because Hardy will be the WWE Champion going into WrestleMania! The fans cheered, as Kennedy told Jeff how he gave him an asskicking last week, and that he'd be happy to do it again tonight. But that's when Jeff tells Ken that he may have done that, but he has someone for Kennedy that he hasn't beaten. The theme of the "Heartbreak Kid" then hit, as Shawn Michaels made his way out to the rampway! Michaels told Kennedy that talk is cheap, and while Shawn may have gone and cheap talked a lot in the past, he feels like tonight would be a good way to settle the score. Michaels and Hardy challenged Kennedy and Orton to a match tonight, and Kennedy accepted instantly! Orton didn't look happy, glaring at Kennedy whilst Michaels and Hardy left pleased. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We returned to Monday Night RAW as William Regal was shown talking to Carlito about why the RAW General Manager had invited Carlito to his office. That's when Mr McMahon came in to thunderous boos, as McMahon greeted Carlito warmly. McMahon gave Carlito a job to do tonight, and that's take out one of the oppositions. McMahon and Regal had ordered Carlito to take on Triple H tonight! The fans cheered, as Regal revealed that Carlito would receive a spot in the Royal Rumble match if he complied. Carlito ate his apple, looking bitter before leaving. 1) Santino Marella (w/Maria) def. Hardcore Holly (w/Cody Rhodes) for his Royal Rumble spot @ 4:20Santino Marella was here to regain some lost momentum from last week on Monday Night RAW, challenging Hardcore Holly for his Royal Rumble spot. Holly was in his hometown tonight, and they gave him a warm reception, but Marella was as fiery as ever, going right to work with some heavy lefts and rights. Santino was overparanoid about the World Tag Team Champion's partner, Cody Rhodes being at ringside, as Cody was simply watching but Marella continued to talk trash to him from inside the ring. Holly then fired back with some stiff lefts and rights, some lethal chops in Santino's direction. Holly tried to finish it with the Alabama Slam but Marella rolled through to a sunset flip, scoring the huge upset! Santino Marella rolled out of the ring to boos, as Marella had stolen Hardcore Holly's slot in the Royal Rumble match cheaply in Holly's hometown of Mobile, Alabama! But that's when Cody Rhodes clotheslined Marella down hard, then rolling Santino into the ring! The fans cheered as Holly delivered one last Alabama Slam to Santino before the World Tag Team Champions left to an ovation. In the backstage dressing room we see Beth Phoenix getting ready to leave with the WWE Divas Championship on her shoulder. But that is when she was interrupted by Melina. The "Glamazon" felt threatened and asked what she wanted, Melina telling Beth to calm down. Melina told Beth that she knew exactly what was on her mind, and because she's so nice, she'll take care of it! Beth looked confused, Melina leaving. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We returned to Monday Night RAW to a WWE Rewind vignette, reviewing the Lingerie Pillowfight last week to determine a new number one contender to the WWE Womens Championship. It featured the return of Ashley to the RAW brand, but in the end it would be Maria that scored the pinfall victory over the "Glamazon" Beth Phoenix herself, cementing the match. 2) Beth Phoenix def. Ashley in a non-title match @ 2:48The "Glamazon" was definitely not in the mood for this, as she went one on one with the Diva that returned to RAW last Monday night, Ashley. Phoenix shoved Ashley around but Ashley responded with some of her own, delivering some forearms to Beth and then an impressive hurricanrana. Phoenix almost fell to a German suplex, but Phoenix overpowered Ashley, and Phoenix swiftly finished Ashley off with the delayed cradle suplex for the win. Beth Phoenix celebrated her win to boos, as the "Glamazon" had proved tonight that she wasn't just a pretty face like Ashley, but when she faces Maria next week, Maria will have to watch out for the "Glamazon". In the backstage area we then saw Triple H, as Todd Grisham was standing by for comments from the "Cerebral Assassin". Triple H told Todd that his father in law has always been a bastard, but the fact that after all these months, better off all of these years, Vince McMahon is still trying to get an advantage of Triple H...and it won't work. No matter who comes in front of him in the Royal Rumble match will fall, and tonight, he'll show that when he destroys Carlito. We then cut to John Bradshaw Layfield as he was making his way to ring with some words to say to Y2J, Chris Jericho! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |The crowd booed as the theme of John Bradshaw Layfield hit, and out came the man himself, the former color analyst for SmackDown! climbing into the ring and taking a microphone as he began to talk about Chris Jericho. Layfield called it disrespect and jealousy that led to Y2J flying into JBL at Armageddon. It wasn't Randy Orton whatsoever. The crowd booed immediately, knowing this lie. Layfield claimed that Jericho wanted to be just like the former WWE Champion, and that he'd love to be better than him. But Jericho has realized in the past couple of weeks; just like he will next Sunday at the Royal Rumble, what it's like to play ball with John Bradshaw Layfield. A "Wrestling God". JBL then claimed to be going to the Royal Rumble match, and when he does, he'll take out whoever gets in his face, whether it be Triple H, Batista, Shawn Michaels. Anybody, and they will all fall to the feet of John Bradshaw Layfield. But suddenly the theme of Chris Jericho hit to loud cheers, Y2J making his way out to the rampway and asking Layfield if he was really claiming that Jericho was jealous of him. Y2J talked about how he's always been miles ahead of Layfield, he was the first Undisputed Champion whilst JBL was pushing up daisies with Ron Simmons in the APA! Y2J talked about how Layfield may be a rich man, but nobody likes him in this arena, let alone anywhere else in the world! Jericho then talked about how at the Royal Rumble he's bound to get an ass-kicking that'll make him forget about the time when Y2J "spitefully" flew into JBL. Jericho and Layfield stood face to face, and as JBL went to leave, Jericho swung him around and locked in the Walls of Jericho! JBL was tapping, screaming in pain but it took several referees to finally get Jericho off of Layfield! We went to the backstage area where William Regal was shown walking down a corridor with coffee in hand, when he met up with Charlie Haas. Regal looked him in the eye and asked what Haas wanted, Haas dressed in a Sherlock Holmes style blazer, complete with waistcoat and tie. Haas had a grin on his face, as he told Regal who he was and that he will respect him within several weeks. Regal asked Haas why he was telling him this, to which Haas simply told him who he was once more, calling himself the "Mastermind of Technical Wrassin'". Regal asked what "wrasslin'" was, as Haas chuckled and walked away. Regal looked confused with the old school term for 'wrestling' before encountering Ron Simmons! Simmons stared at him before exclaiming "DAMN!". | COMMERCIAL BREAK |3) Paul London and Brian Kendrick def. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch to gain contention to the World Tag Team Championships @ 5:06This match was set up last week after Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch's attempt to regain the World Tag Team Championships from Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes was thwarted by RAW Roulette; instead Cade was teamed with Brian Kendrick and cost Cade the match. This led to Paul London and Kendrick confronting Trevor Murdoch and Cade over the contender's spot, and demanding they put it on the line tonight. London and Kendrick flew around the ring with hurricanranas to Cade and Murdoch, but Murdoch managed to stick in there, clubbing blows to London. Murdoch and Cade showed off their teamwork off, a double backbreaker to London and keeping him away from the fresh Kendrick. Finally Kendrick got the tag and all four men scrambled into the ring, Kendrick with a cradle to Murdoch for the win! Paul London and Brian Kendrick quickly left the ring, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch left irate in the ring! London and Kendrick celebrated their win before leaving hastily, as they had just earned themselves a shot at the World Tag Team Championships! Meanwhile, back in the locker room John Bradshaw Layfield was shown looking pissed off. JBL was then approached by Charlie Haas, Haas shaking his head at Layfield and telling JBL that what he was going to witness in the next couple of weeks is a "Mastermind of Technical Wrasslin" at work. Layfield asked Haas if he really cared who he was. Layfield followed up, stating that he didn't even know who he was properly! Haas tutted, telling Layfield to calm down because Charlie Haas was going to show this so-called "Wrestling God" a thing or two. JBL was confused, but even angrier. Carlito was shown walking down a corridor, as he was going to face Triple H for a slot in the Royal Rumble match, next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting the Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, January 27th 2008 from New York City, New York. 4) Triple H def. Carlito by disqualification @ 6:06The "Cerebral Assassin" was not in the mood for games, and it proved here as he took on the Caribbean great, Carlito. The second generation superstar tried to get in as much offense as he possibly could, using lefts and rights to stun the "Game", but Triple H always managed to come back on top of Carlito, simply hammering him and then following up with his trademark facebuster. Hunter wanted to finish the match off there, but Mr McMahon accompanied by Umaga came down to the ring, as Triple H was then jumped from behind by Carlito. Carlito kept Triple H where he wanted him, an abdominal stretch locked in. Hunter soon managed to fight out though, as he then delivered a spinebuster and set up for the Pedigree when Umaga jumped in the ring and delivered a clothesline to the "Game"! The crowd booed as Umaga stomped away at Triple H, Mr McMahon looking on gladfully as the "Samoan Bulldozer" then delivered the Samoan Spike into the throat of the "Cerebral Assassin"! Umaga wasn't done yet though, as he went up to the top rope and came off with the Wild Samoan Splash on Triple H! Umaga and Mr McMahon left together, Triple H down in the ring whilst Carlito was also left behind. We returned to the backstage area as Maria was shown talking to Santino Marella, as Maria told Santino that she's sure he'll do pretty good in the Royal Rumble match. Marella looked outraged at her compliment, stating that 'pretty good' was an understatement! Marella described his winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania XXIV and thus getting into all of the clubs in Orlando, Florida! Marella trumpeted off down the corridor when suddenly Melina attacked her from behind! Melina slammed her head against a cart before slapping on a headlock and telling her that next week she must lose to the "Glamazon" Beth Phoenix, or she would continue to make Maria's career as a WWE Diva even worse than it already is! Melina released before leaving, Maria finding oxygen to breathe. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |Shawn Michaels and Jeff Hardy were shown warming up in the backstage area, as HBK told Jeff that he definitely had it all to become a WWE Champion. But if Shawn Michaels was to go out there and win his third Royal Rumble match, then he realizes then that they may be on the same stage at WrestleMania XXIV. Hardy tells Shawn that it'll be an honor to face him, as Michaels told Hardy how he sort of reminds him or his younger self. The two then left to go and get ready elsewhere. A biographical vignette aired, reviewing the past twenty years of Royal Rumble matches, and how they have been vital to building or breaking a WWE superstar, because the majority would go on to become WWE Champion or World Heavyweight Champion. It included comments from various WWE Superstars such as Jeff Hardy, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, John Bradshaw Layfield, Chris Jericho and Ric Flair about the importance of the Royal Rumble and how prestigious it is. Once again we returned to the dressing room of Randy Orton as the WWE Champion was warming up for his tag team match with Mr Kennedy against Jeff Hardy and Shawn Michaels. That is until Orton was interrupted by Todd Grisham, as Grisham asked Orton for some words. Orton told Todd that he had had enough to hear with Shawn Michaels constantly being a thorn in his side. But after tonight that wouldn't be a problem at all. And as for Jeff Hardy, he will see his day at the Royal Rumble, when his hopes and dreams get punted out of him. Suddenly, the door opened and in came Charlie Haas once again, introducing himself as the "Mastermind of Technical WRASSLIN'". Orton just glared at him and left, Haas grinning and asking Orton if it was something he'd said. 5) Jeff Hardy & Shawn Michaels def. Randy Orton & Mr Kennedy @ 14:43A championship status main event to Monday Night RAW tonight as these two teams fought it out with everything on the line. The "Heartbreak Kid" mentored Jeff Hardy through this match, HBK starting off with Randy Orton and HBK got the better of the WWE Champion in the opening moments as well, knocking Orton down with an inverted atomic drop and clothesline combination, but Orton quickly blind tagged the WWE Intercontinental Champion, Mr Kennedy thus bringing him into this match. Hardy got the tag as Shawn and Jeff worked the arm of the new champion, Kennedy however getting the better of the "Rainbow-haired Warrior" after reversing his enzuigiri attempt into a sitout powerbomb! | COMMERCIAL BREAK | Kennedy continued as he stomped away at Hardy, Kennedy and Orton seemingly working better than thought out to be. Michaels soon got the hot tag however, and Shawn ran in with a head of speed, a suicide dive taking both Kennedy and Orton out of the picture. This was followed up by Hardy's death-defying moment, a senton over the top rope onto the other three superstars! The match was chaos as all four men then brawled, it coming down to Orton and Jeff, Jeff trying the Twist of Fate but Orton tried the RKO, but Jeff reversed! Orton then ran into Sweet Chin Music from Shawn, and Jeff went up top and nailed the Swanton Bomb for the three! Jeff Hardy celebrated his win to loud cheers as the "Rainbow-haired Warrior" had pulled off a massive win against Randy Orton tonight in tag team action, reminiscent of last month! Shawn Michaels raised Jeff Hardy's hand in victory as Mr Kennedy looked angry storming away for the backstage area. Hardy stood tall over Orton, RAW going off the air. ECW on Sci-Fi - Tuesday 15th January 2008 - Birmingham, AL We kick off ECW on Sci-Fi with Armando Estrada in his office, as Estrada was shown finishing up a signature for a contract as suddenly CM Punk stepped into the room to a loud ovation from the Birmingham crowd. The "Straight Edge Superstar" asked Estrada what he called him in here for as Estrada informed Punk of a special arrangement to be set up tonight in tonight's contract signing. It entails that if Punk wins this Sunday at the Royal Rumble, and would then have his ECW World Championship stolen once again by Matt Striker or Big Daddy V, then Punk would be eligible to file a lawsuit against the two for stolen property. Punk told Estrada that that sounded good, but Estrada then informed Punk that if he lost the title this Sunday, he will not be entitled to a rematch! Punk stated that that was fair, confidently leaving. The opening video package for ECW on Sci-Fi aired, as we cut to the BJCC for this episode of ECW! Pyrotechnics went off, as Joey Styles and Tazz welcomed us to this episode of ECW, promoting a main event of MVP, John Morrison and The Miz taking on Finlay, Jesse and Festus! The theme of Elijah Burke hit to kick off the show to boos, as Burke made his way out to the ring confidently and slowly, towel in hand. Burke climbed into the ring and began to talk about how he felt like he had been held back here on ECW. He talked about the ridiculousness of that scenario; this is ECW and he's being held back and barely even being used. However, he has a plan on how to change things around, and it begins tonight onwards. With that, he introduced fellow ECW superstar, Shelton Benjamin! The "Gold Standard" then made his way down to the ring as Benjamin joined Burke in the ring, the two embracing in a hug as Benjamin began to explain their alliances, stating how they felt like it was racism that was holding back their talents. Benjamin spoke out about how it is their pure wrestling abilities are neglected for such characters as their opponents for tonight; the former so-called number one contenders to the WWE Tag Team Championships, Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore! 1) Elijah Burke & Shelton Benjamin def. Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore @ 6:56This was the first match on ECW on Sci-Fi for the tag team collective of Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin, and Tazz was vocal on sticking up for the combination and their frustration with being held back in recent months. The "Gold Standard" started off with Shannon Moore, as these two rocketed back and forth showcasing their high flying abilities but Benjamin with his technically sound work managed to slow down Moore and beat down on the SmackDown! superstar, just clubbing the shoulder and tagging in the "Elijah Experience". Burke played to the crowd and continued to work over the shoulder, the two tagging in and out simply and effectively, not allowing him to reach Wang Yang at any point. Wang Yang finally managed however to get the tag as he went in there and ran wild with dropkicks, armdrags and hurricanranas to Benjamin and Burke! Wang Yang went up for the Moonsault but Benjamin joined Wang Yang on the top rope from the apron, the "Gold Standard" delivering a crazy Paydirt from the top rope! Burke then covered for the three! The crowd booed but appreciated the work of Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin, as the "Gold Standard" and the "Elijah Experience" had seemingly got the job done and showed their true power in this tag team unit against Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore tonight. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We cut to the backstage area where Balls Mahoney was shown polishing off his prized steel chair, Mahoney suddenly approached by the lovely Layla to boos. Layla asking Balls if he really did like balls. Mahoney grinned mischievously as Layla mentioned how she liked balls too. Layla asked Mahoney a favor, asking him to help her out tonight with Kelly Kelly. Balls asked what was wrong with Kelly Kelly as Layla mentioned how Kelly has been out to get her from the start, so she has been paying off her make-up artist to sabotage Layla's beautiful face. Layla requested Balls do the same to Kelly, because Kelly had to be mean and make her look like a clown! Mahoney hesitated, but Layla seductively rubbed his steel chair with polish, and Balls had no choice! 2) Mike Knox (w/Kevin Thorn) def. Colin Delaney @ 1:54Apparently Lena Yada attempted to catch some words from Mike Knox and Kevin Thorn earlier today on their strange alliance, but was instead met with evil laughter from the combination. Colin Delaney was in harm's way as he has been in recent weeks tonight, trying to fight Mike Knox, but the bearded animal simply threw Delaney across the ring and ran over him with a clothesline! Knox strangled Delaney with the ring rope, then pounded him in the chest; Knox finally put Colin away with the Knox Out for the win. Mike Knox celebrated his win to boos, but as the official attended to Colin Delaney, Kevin Thorn climbed into the ring and threw the official out of the ring! Thorn delivered the Crucifix on Delaney before Knox delivered another big splash to the defenseless enhancement talent! But that's when the "Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer ran down to the ring, Dreamer armed with a singapore cane as he took down Thorn and delivered several headshots with the cane to Knox, Dreamer following up with the Dreamer Driver! The ECW Original aided the beaten down Colin Delaney as the fans cheered. In the backstage area we saw Kelly Kelly sat down looking at a mirror as an obvious man was dressed in drag started to prepare make-up for Kelly when suddenly Kelly realized that the woman was actually a man, taking out a paintbrush and a paint palette! Kelly asked what was going on as she ripped off the man-in-drag's blouse to reveal that it was Balls Mahoney! Kelly asked what Balls was trying to do, as Mahoney instantly put the blame on Layla before speeding away! Kelly was left enraged. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |A vignette aired, promoting the debut of the newest addition to the ECW roster, Kofi Kingston! The "Jamaican Sensation" was coming to ECW next week. Eve Torres was in the interview area with the WWE Tag Team Champions, John Morrison and The Miz as Lena asked Miz and Morrison about their success as champions. The Miz told Lena that the only reason she has a job as an interviewer is to make the studs of the ECW locker room look good! The "Shaman of Sexy" talked about how they were the best champions that the WWE has to offer, and unlike CM Punk they manage to hold onto their title belts. Miz commented on their six man tag team match later tonight as he talked about what they did to Festus two weeks ago, and how the big oath probably needed it. Miz then commented on this "Fighting Irishman" guy, Finlay; calling him one of the more useless hasbeens that this show doesn't need! But that'll be amended tonight when John Morrison, The Miz and Montel Vontavious Porter style and profile against the Village People rejects! 3) Stevie Richards def. Domino (w/Deuce & Cherry) @ 4:16This was the first appearance for Stevie Richards on ECW in quite a few weeks, as the ECW Original fired away with lefts and rights in his first 2008 appearance on ECW on Sci-Fi. Domino outnumbered Richards with having Deuce and Cherry at ringside, but Richards managed to overcome that, a suicide dive taking out both Deuce 'N Domino in the early goings. Domino soon took advantage though, a headlock applied. Richards meanwhile managed to escape the hold, and he fired back with the Stevie Kick on Deuce on the apron! Richards went up and teased a missile dropkick causing Domino to drop down to the canvas, and Richards followed it up with a diving crossbody to secure the three! Stevie Richards slid out of the ring to a loud pop from the Birmingham crowd, as Domino was left in the ring shocked at how the ECW Original had outsmarted him! In the backstage area, Finlay was shown walking down a corridor with his shillelagh in hand and Hornwoggle by his side, as six man tag team action was coming up next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |4) Finlay, Jesse and Festus (w/Hornswoggle) def. Montel Vontavious Porter, John Morrison and The Miz @ 7:45An action packed six man tag team match to main event this episode of ECW on Sci-Fi, as the "Fighting Irishman" had a settle to score with the overconfident WWE United States Champion, MVP. This started the match off, as MVP tried to one-up Finlay just for Finlay to continue to fire back with clubbing blows and mat-based wrestling. Jesse got the tag as Fetus remained almost motionless on the apron. Jesse was worked over by the WWE Tag Team Champions as John Morrison had him right where he wanted him, just for Jesse to dive out of the way of a springboard superkick, getting the tag to Festus! But Festus remained motionless! Miz then came in and knocked Festus down from the apron, playing to the crowd. MVP took this time to keep going after Festus until Finlay and Jesse jumped in, a huge five man brawl engaging around Festus! Jesse then went over and rang the ring bell again, but Festus again was unresponsive! Morrison and Jesse continued to brawl, as Finlay took Festus' hand and led him back onto the apron, securing the tag! The "Fighting Irishman" saved the day as he took Morrison away from his Moonlight Drive attempt and gave him the Celtic Cross for the win! Finlay celebrated his win as Jesse joined him, the two then taking Festus into the ring and raising his hand! MVP, John Morrison and The Miz were furious, as the WWE United States and Tag Team Champions backed up the aisleway furiously. We then saw Armando Estrada in the backstage area, and he was heading for the ring with the contract, and the contract signing for the Royal Rumble is up next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting the Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, January 27th 2008 from New York City, NY. The crowd booed as Armando Estrada was stood in the ring welcoming us to the contract signing for the ECW World Championship match scheduled to take place at the Royal Rumble in a week on Sunday. Estrada introduced out the challenger as Big Daddy V slowly made his way down to the aisleway with Matt Striker by his side, the ECW World Championship on Striker's shoulder. Estrada welcomed the dominant duet to the ring as Estrada told Striker and V about the understanding that this contract has. Striker interrupted, stating that he knew what Estrada requested and he respected that, and it was fine with him because at the Royal Rumble, they wouldn't have to relinquish the ECW World Championship belt, because Big Daddy V was going to win! The crowd booed at this, as out came the "Straight Edge Superstar", CM Punk making his way down to the ring to a big ovation, as the current ECW World Champion stood in the ring and looked Big Daddy V in the eyes, Estrada wanting to know if this stipulation that applied, that if Big Daddy V won the title, he would never get a rematch. Punk told him that was fine, and that was all because he knew that Matt Striker would want to get involved, and whilst Punk knows for a fact that he can't make Big Daddy V Go to Sleep, he can sure as hell make Striker Go to Sleep instead! The fans cheered, as Punk then mentioned the Anaconda Vise, and how he would ruin this 'big monster' thing that the Big Bondage V had going, by making him tap out to the Anaconda Vise! Striker tried to argue back but Estrada ordered the competitors to sign the contract. Big Daddy V went over to sign with Striker, as V told Punk that he was going to have to pray to leave Madison Square Garden as the champ. He finished signing, and that's when Punk went to sign, the champion finishing it but that's when Big Daddy V tossed the table into Punk! The two traded blows, Punk getting the advantage, as Striker set the table up in the corner! Big Daddy V went to send Punk through the table but Punk switched it around, the step-up knee to the face of V as the two were leaning against the table! Punk went to follow with the bulldog but V tossed him off, Big Daddy V with a powerslam on Punk through the table! The crowd booed as V and Matt Striker were left dominant once again, the ECW World Championship still in possession of this monster! ECW on Sci-Fi went off the air.

*Knuckle Crack* Well, well, well. Hello ECW. Nice originality with a decent starter before the opening video having the whole new additions into the ECW Championship match. Shall make for some interesting things there. I like the pairing of Elijah Burke and Shelton Benjamin, a little skeptical about the racism angle though. Glad they got the won. Seducing Balls. Lulz. A little off put from the combination of Knox and Thorn, but, it's good to see them getting some wins. Like that Tommy Dreamer is getting involved in this as well - him and Delaney was an interesting thing that was done way back then. Kofi Kingston coming to the show next week will be sick, I hope he does some good. Nice to see Stevie Richards getting the win, I've always liked him. Decent main event and I'm fine seeing the faces go over, but I hope JoMo and Miz keep their tag team gold as time goes on. Lastly, nice ending contract signing to the show and Big Daddy V standing tall to end it all makes me think Punk will retain at the Rumble. Fine show.

WWE SmackDown! - Friday 18th January 2008 - Birmingham, AL Dark Match: Paul Burchill (w/Katie Lea Burchill) def. Nunzio (4:02) after the Curb Stomp. We kicked off SmackDown! this week with a replay from last week, as Rey Mysterio, Batista and The Undertaker teamed up to take on Edge, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. The man that scored the fall if Edge's team lost would immediately be going to the Royal Rumble to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship, and the three challengers tried their hardest to cooperate but then go for their own individual win on the La Familia opponents. But in the end it was Rey Mysterio that scored a big victory defeating Edge to gain a rematch with Edge for a World title shot in two weeks!
The opening video package for SmackDown! aired, and we cut to the BJCC for this episode of SmackDown! Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman welcomed us to the show as they hyped a huge match for tonight, where Finlay will challenge for the WWE United States Championship against Montel Vontavious Porter, plus a fifteen man battle royal from RAW, SmackDown! and ECW to determine who enters the Royal Rumble match next week at #30!
The crowd cheered as Rey Mysterio's theme hit, and out came the number one contender, albeit he was walking with a limp. Mysterio climbed into the ring with a microphone in hand as Rey began to talk about chance, and how important it is to give anything a chance because anything is possible. Mysterio talks about how doctors are advising him not to go through with this match against Edge at the Royal Rumble, but he feels like he must because to him, he needs to save SmackDown! from La Familia and their disrespectful ways! Edge is a traitor, and he's even more shocked and upset with Vickie Guerrero! The fans cheered Rey on as he continued to talk about how he is all about honor, and he honors this brand for Theodore Long, the man that should rightfully be the main General Manager of SmackDown! once more, and this is why he is doing this. The theme of Edge then hit to loud boos, as the World Heavyweight Champion made his way out to the rampway alone. Edge had a microphone as he began to talk about how Vickie Guerrero wasn't here tonight due to a family emergency at home, but he's here because he's willing to give Mysterio a fair trial tonight. The "Rated R Superstar" told Rey that he doesn't see him as a worthy challenger to his prestigious belt, but because he brought him the WWE Tag Team Championships, consider him fair for tonight. Because tonight we'd see some Pick Your Poison activity as he's going to choose an opponent for Rey to face right now, and Rey can choose someone for him to face, but this fairness won't last forever, as he will be the one to break Mysterio's knee once and for all in nine days time! Edge then introduced Mysterio's opponent for tonight, Chavo Guerrero!
1) Rey Mysterio def. Chavo Guerrero in a Pick Your Poison match @ 7:19 This was a pretty hot opening contest, as these two have had some serious wars in the past couple of years. In Rey Mysterio's WWE debut days, he fought Chavo in a twenty minute classic on SmackDown!, as well as several times down the road at SummerSlam 2006 and 2007. Mysterio flew around the ring as did Chavo, but Chavo soon went after the weakened knee of Mysterio and continued to pull it apart, a single legged crab applied on the Mysterio, but Rey managed to reach the bottom rope. Chavo Guerrero kept on Rey though, a front face lock applied as the "Latino Warrior" continued to fight to make Rey submit in some fashion. Mysterio soon fired back again though, the wheelbarrow into a DDT perfectly putting Rey back in the driver's seat. Mysterio followed up with a 619 attempt, but Chavo avoided it and went for the Gory Bomb, Rey turning it into a variation of a sunset flip for a near fall, and Mysterio then sent Chavo into the ropes for the 619, and by Dropping the Dime, Rey got the win!
Rey Mysterio celebrated his win to loud cheers as Edge looked on in disbelief, the "Rated R Superstar"s lackey in La Familia having failed to defeat his number one contender! The World Heavyweight Champion then became even more shocked as Rey took a microphone and revealed to Edge that his opponent for tonight would be none other than Batista! The fans cheered as Edge looked angered.
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
We returned to SmackDown! to see Rey Mysterio come through the curtain to cheers, Mysterio met by Batista, as the "Animal" had a huge smile on his face. Batista thanked Rey for giving him the opportunity to beat some sense into Edge tonight, but then telling Rey that he would be winning the Royal Rumble match, and when he does, he wants Mysterio to hang onto the World Heavyweight Championship for WrestleMania XXIV. Rey said that he'd love that to happen, then limping away.
2) Chuck Palumbo and Jamie Noble (w/Michelle McCool) def. Deuce 'N' Domino (w/Cherry) @ 4:30 This match was an odd one, as Michelle McCool had paired her boyfriend Chuck Palumbo up with Chuck's supposed adversary Jamie Noble after Palumbo reluctantly helped Noble last week on SmackDown!. Deuce 'n' Domino meanwhile wanted to prove something to the two after Domino lost to Stevie Richards this past Tuesday night on ECW on Sci-Fi. Palumbo started off and immediately powered through Deuce but when it came to Domino he was weakened slightly. Palumbo fought back however and tagged in Noble, the two double teaming Domino quite well. Noble kept on the offence but eventually Deuce got control of Noble and began to ground him away from his larger partner, Palumbo. Noble finally got the tag as Deuce tried an abdominal stretch, and Palumbo came in with lefts and rights for both of the former WWE Tag Team Champions. Palumbo then quickly finished Deuce off with the Full Throttle for the win.
Chuck Palumbo celebrated his win to cheers as Jamie Noble joined Palumbo, Palumbo actually raising Noble's hand victorious as well. Michelle McCool was pleased at ringside, but that was until three men came from different sections of the crowd and got into the ring, immediately jumping Palumbo and Noble! These men were revealed to be the collective of Drew McIntyre, DH Smith from RAW and British veteran himself, Dave Taylor! Taylor gave Noble a British suplex whilst McIntyre delivered the Scot Drop to Palumbo, DH Smith following up with a Running Powerslam to the referee! The crowd booed as Michelle looked on in concern, these three Brits left dominantly standing!
In the backstage area, Ranjin Singh was prepping the Great Khali in Punjab, as Khali was going to be apart of the fifteen man battle royal match still to come tonight. But then Kane appeared in the room, the "Big Red Monster" looking at Khali and laughing! Kane left as Khali was left looking ready to kill.
Meanwhile, Montel Vontavious Porter himself was making his way through the backstage area, and up next MVP would be defending his WWE United States Championship against Finlay, next!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
3) Finlay (w/Hornswoggle) def. Montel Vontavious Porter by disqualification; MVP retains the WWE United States Championship @ 12:47 This was a rematch from last week and a continuation of their tension as Montel Vontavious Porter started all of this by denying the "Fighting Irishman" a shot at his WWE United States Championship. MVP got himself disqualified last week, and thus Finlay earned himself a shot at the title MVP didn't want him to challenge for. Finlay started off hard hitting with Porter, as MVP tried to stick in there against the "Fighting Irishman" with some cheap shots of his own. MVP managed to wear Finlay down in the corner with some form of choke hold using his boot, but Porter continued by setting up for a Playmaker just for Finlay to break out of it and nail MVP with a clothesline! MVP then tried to leave like at Armageddon, but Hornswoggle scared MVP off, Hornswoggle running MVP around the ring until MVP slid back into the ring with the title to eat a spear from Finlay! Finlay got back up and went for a Steam Roller, but MVP slipped out, Finlay nailing the Celtic Cross! Finlay covered, but at two MVP got a shoulder up and slammed the WWE United States Championship into the face of Finlay!
The crowd booed as MVP rolled out of the ring, Hornswoggle climbing into the ring to aid to Finlay as Montel Vontavious Porter celebrated amongst masses of boos with his retained WWE United States Championship!
The RAW Rebound aired, as it recapped footage from Monday Night RAW in which involved Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton. Mr Kennedy came out to the ring and boasted his WWE Intercontinental Championship win the week prior. Orton then came out as well, claiming that Kennedy wouldn't have the title if it wasn't for the WWE Champion. Jeff Hardy came out, as did Shawn Michaels and so a tag team match was made. It was back and forth as Orton and Kennedy seemed like a reluctant tag team, and in the end it came down to Jeff and Orton as Hardy nailed the Swanton Bomb to cleanly beat the WWE Champion.
The Undertaker was shown in the backstage area as Lena Yada approached him, asking for some words before the battle royal in a few short minutes. The "Phenom" told Lena that tonight we'd see a sneak peak of the Royal Rumble, and that will feature the Undertaker kicking fourteen other guys over the top rope to become the #30 entrant in the Royal Rumble. Just like last year, and like last year, the "Deadman" will reign supreme. 'Taker told Edge and Rey Mysterio to watch out, because at WrestleMania, they're in his yard, and whomever leaves the Rumble as World Heavyweight Champion shall rest in peace.
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
MVP was shown leaving the arena to boos, as Montel Vontavious Porter wasted no time in escaping for his car with the WWE United States Championship, when suddenly Theodore Long appeared, as he asked MVP if he had a good night, ruining that excellent title match for the fans here in Birmingham. Porter tried to explain himself as the Assistant General Manager told MVP that if he got himself disqualified next week, he'd find himself stripped of that WWE United States Championship when he faces Finlay again here on SmackDown! MVP shook his head in concern, then getting into his car and driving away.
4) The Great Khali def. The Undertaker, Kane, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry, Super Crazy, John Morrison, Elijah Burke, Mr Kennedy, Paul London, Trevor Murdoch, Shelton Benjamin, Snitsky, Cody Rhodes & Santino Marella to win a 15-Man Battle Royal for the #30 spot in the Royal Rumble @ 17:28 This was a nutty battle royal as it featured fifteen randomized choices out of the Royal Rumble match's currently listed entrants, all vying for the #30 spot in the Royal Rumble match in nine days. Cody Rhodes and Santino Marella were quickly ploughed out of the ring by the Great Khali, and Khali was definitely on a roll as he went on to also eliminate Paul London who had already eliminated Trevor Murdoch; Snitsky and Shelton Benjamin. But the Undertaker and Kane seemed like an allied force not to be messed with as well, the Brothers of Destruction sending Elijah Burke on a ride to hell with a double Chokeslam. | COMMERCIAL BREAK | Kane and the "Phenom" proceeded to start going at it with Khali, as the match emptied down to Khali, 'Taker, Kane, Chris Jericho and Mark Henry. The "World's Strongest Man" got involved, as he went at it with the "Big Red Monster", but Mark's attempt at the World's Strongest Slam was reversed as Mark backed into the ropes sending both men out of the ring! Y2J managed to stick in there for a while, as he almost managed to eliminate the Undertaker just for Khali to stick his head in, the "Punjabian Giant" sending Jericho out of the ring as well. It finally narrowed down to 'Taker and Khali, as Khali had his mind set on winning the Royal Rumble, but what better way than to do it from the comfortable #30 position. Khali had 'Taker in the Vise Grip, but Undertaker managed to fight out of it after much effort, 'Taker with several clotheslines but that's when Khali caught 'Taker and sent him over the top rope giving Khali the win!
The Great Khali celebrated his win to loud boos, as the Undertaker sat up at ringside in pure anger, the "Phenom" furious that Khali had just eliminated him! The Great Khali was already a force to be reckoned with, but now from the last entrant position in the Royal Rumble match itself, he was unstoppable!
| COMMERCIAL BREAK |
A biographical vignette aired, reviewing the past twenty years of Royal Rumble matches, and how they have been vital to building or breaking a WWE superstar, because the majority would go on to become WWE Champion or World Heavyweight Champion. It included comments from various WWE Superstars such as Finlay, MVP, Batista, Mark Henry and the Undertaker about the importance of the Royal Rumble and how prestigious it is.
The WWE Slam of the Week aired, as it showed footage from ECW on Sci-Fi this past Tuesday, where Big Daddy V and CM Punk attended a contract signing for their match at the Royal Rumble in nine days, the signing ending badly for the ECW World Champion as V drove Punk through a table with a powerslam.
5) Big Daddy V (w/Matt Striker) def. Tommy Dreamer @ 6:24 Big Daddy V still had the ECW World Championship with him as he went into this match with the "Innovator of Violence" Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer had encountered a situation himself over on ECW this past Tuesday, as Dreamer made the save for Colin Delaney against Kevin Thorn and Mike Knox. But tonight he had a bigger problem as he took on the number one contender to CM Punk's title belt, Big Daddy V. V powered Dreamer around the ring with some clobbering left and rights but Dreamer fired back, the ECW Original delivering some hard shots of his own, and Dreamer even delivered the DDT to Big Daddy V at one point. Dreamer continued to work over Big Daddy V to the crowd's delight, but that's when suddenly Kevin Thorn and Mike Knox came down to ringside! Dreamer was distracted instantly and Big Daddy V capitalized, the Samoan drop putting Dreamer away for three.
The crowd booed as Big Daddy V celebrated his win, Matt Striker joining him in the ring with the ECW World Championship. But that's when CM Punk then ran down to the ring, trading blows with his number one contender! V shoved him down, but Punk got right back up and dropkicked V, sending him out through the ropes to the floor! Striker joined V at ringside, as Striker advised V to leave the situation and head for the back as well, much to the displeasure of this Birmingham crowd.
We went to the backstage area as Josh Mathews was standing by with the World Heavyweight Champion, Edge. The fans booed the "Rated R Superstar" as he was asked for some comments regarding his upcoming Pick Your Poison match with Batista. Edge talked about the history that the two had, Edge injured Batista and Batista injured him, and the two have traded World Heavyweight Championship reigns since. But tonight was not about the title, and tonight he would get the job done just like he did at Armageddon, at Survivor Series, and at various other shows in the past year, because Edge had a game plan and was sticking to it. The camera then panned out to show Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins by his side.
An advertisement aired, promoting the Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view on Sunday, January 27th 2008 from New York City, New York.

An advertisement aired, promoting WrestleMania XXIV tickets still on sale for the Grandest Stage of Them All, live on pay-per-view on March 30th, 2008.
Michael Cole and Johnathan Coachman began to talk about the Royal Rumble in nine days, as so far it had a stacked line-up consisting of the 30-man Royal Rumble to schedule the number one contender to the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXIV; the WWE Championship on the line as Randy Orton defended against Jeff Hardy; CM Punk defending the ECW World Championship against Big Daddy V, with added stipulations that if Punk won, V would have to relinquish Punk's title, whereas if V won, Punk would never get a rematch; John Bradshaw Layfield doing battle with Chris Jericho; And for the World Heavyweight Championship, Edge will defend against Rey Mysterio!
6) Batista def. Edge in a non-title Pick Your Poison match @ 10:18 This was our main evented, heated up in recent weeks after their almost year long rivalry kicked off last May. The "Animal" was hot at the "Rated R Superstar", and it showed during the opening moments of this match as Batista fired into Edge with some heavy handed lefts and rights, Edge firing back and stunning Batista, but the two continued to exchange momentum until Edge tried for a Spear just to get a spinebuster from the "Animal"! Batista wasn't done though, as he went for the Batista Bomb just for Edge to reverse it into a hurricanrana! Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins then came down for assistance, Batista distracted. | COMMERCIAL BREAK | We returned as Edge had Batista in a fujiwara armbar, definitely strange to see Edge in this submission-specialized state, but Batista managed to fight off, turning it into a powerbomb! Batista slowly made the comeback, lefts and rights to Edge, but Edge came back off of the ropes with a spinning wheel kick catching the referee! Hawkins and Ryder took their positions, holding up two steel chairs as the combination delivered the old Edge and Christian classic Conchairto to the "Animal"! Edge then nailed the Spear as the Edgeheads tried to revive the official. Rey Mysterio then ran down to the ring instead, the number one contender with a dropkick to Hawkins and a hurricanrana to Ryder as he delivered a duo 619 on the Edgeheads! Mysterio ran into a Spear from Edge at that very moment, when suddenly Batista gave him the Batista Bomb for the win!
Batista celebrated his win to cheers, as the "Animal" had just defeated the World Heavyweight Champion! Edge remained down as Rey Mysterio raised Batista's hand in victory, but in nine days could the "Rated R Superstar" try and slow down the weakened Rey Mysterio to retain his title? Edge rolled out of the ring in rage, the Edgeheads helping him as Rey and Batista stood tall, SmackDown! going off the air.

Smackdown: Solid opening promo, I'm a bit confused as to why Edge would put himself in danger with a pick your poison match since he's a rather cowardly character but it's not a huge deal. Rey/Chavo is a solid and expected opener with Chavo representing Edge, hopefully you give Chavo a solid role in this. Palumbo/Noble/Deuce & Domino was ok, the aftermath though was good and I wouldn't mind seeing what you do with this British stable. Finlay/MVP was good, finish allows for a continuation of the feud and I look forward to seeing it progress. I'm not sure about Undertaker doing a straight backstage interview (I may be just missing this and he may do it all the time) but it doesn't seem to suit Taker's character. Battle Royal was good and definitely served it's purpose well by making Khali look unstoppable by clearing the ring. I didn't really like V looking that weak against Dreamer when challenging for the ECW Title by needing help to defeat, when I think he should be made to look like a force to be reckoned with. Edge/Batista was a good main event and a well booked one.
Overall another pretty solid show as always from you, there were a couple of strange character decisions I thought but overall the booking and writing was good and I look forward to going back and reading some past shows as well as reading some more of this.

This is looking good DTP like all of your diaries: good detail, great booking and a nice layout. Im liking Kennedy as IC champ and Jeff losing the title sets up for a main event push since hes facing Orton at the Rumble. Liked the opening segment to RAW, wasn't just your typical interuppted speech segment. Santino is better in the rumble than Holly, post match segment keeps the champs strong too. I'm loving all the segments you write, they are well writ and add to the WWE feel of the diary. JBL/Y2J seems like a good feud. Intresting storyline with Maria, can't think of the bullying angle being done before. Liked the good ending to the main event. Makes Jeff look strong countering the RKO. The Punk/Authority angle is good to see, can see Punk moving away from ECW, big fish little pond scenario. Burke and Benjamin is a decent team, would have rather you wait and put WGTT back together since Haas is just a jobber. The balls/laya angle shows how much of a good booker you are, your making up good storylines which makes the divas intresting. Push Knox, another new tag team of Thorn and Knox? Seems like its just for the story with Tommy and Colin though. Another good Balls angle. Richards winning? Good six man tag and end segment, could have swapped them around but I see why you did it. Good Rey underdog story and realistic promo, good match with Chavo. Need to turn Batista heel, is much better. Chuck and Noble bit random, D&D are having a torrid week. Meh at the stereotypical Brit stable. MVP is a good US Champ. Lots of good segments thoughout. Khali as number 30 is a waste but realistic I suppose. Taker talking about the rumble seems odd, I assume in character but still odd. V winning puts him in good odds against Punk for the rumble. Another good ending to the show, but Batista seems to get up awfully quick following the conchairto. Great stuff all round, showing how good of a booker and writer you really are. Keep it up.

Alright, SmackDown. A good method to use is always Pick Your Poison, it always comes in handy. Chavo Guerrero is a logical choice for an opponent, but obviously, Rey Mysterio would get the victory. Batista is a good choice for Edge's opponent, as well. A good victory for Chuck Palumbo and Jamie Noble, but I loved the finish with that British Invasion, I always love those storylines. It's good to see Drew McIntyre actually used properly during this time period. I've always been a Finlay fan, so to see him challenge for the United States Championship makes me happy, but I didn't expect him to win it, and he didn't. However, a disqualification finish tells me that this isn't over between them. The Great Khali is definitely a logical choice to win this Battle Royal and become #30, but he clearly will not win unless you've gone absolutely mad, haha. I did like how The Undertaker was the final man with him. Pleased to see Big Daddy V with the victory, and I love how he has stolen the ECW Championship, but I hope he officially wins it at the Royal Rumble, allowing CM Punk to go onto bigger things within the WWE. Batista with a victory over Edge definitely puts Edge at a disadvantage going into the Rumble, but I'm pretty sure he will retain. Batista could very weel win the Rumble for a second time though, although I doubt you'll go down that route. Overall, a great SmackDown as always.

I'll make sure to catchup on this and follow it more closely. I'll just share my thoughts on Smackdown since it was the last show posted.
I've always liked the pick your poison concept and think it would work nicely between Edge and Rey. The promo seemed to be a fine one and it held my interest. When Rey and Edge meet they are surely going to have a very good match. Good win for Rey to open the action as he and Chavo seemingly never had a bad match from what I can remember.
Dude, a stable of Drew, Smith and Taylor is awesome! I'm loving that!
I thought it was weird that MVP was scared of Hornswoggle. That's just hard to imagine.
Seventeen minutes for the battle royal? Yeah, it was a loaded battle royal, which is great, but that amount of time seemed excessive to me. That's at least two commercial breaks and would really tune some viewers out. A lot of battle royals are boring no matter what it is done.
I kind of feel that Big Daddy V should've just won without the distraction. For me, a big guy like V shouldn't rely on other wrestlers. Hopefully that isn't a trend in this.
The main event was a good match between Batista and Edge. I'm figuring Edge will get his momentum next week before the pay per view.
Overall, I thought it was a solid show with only a few uninteresting segments.

WWE Smackdown Decent opening promo with Edge and Mysterio, I like the Pick Your Poison idea for tonight. Chavo was the perfect choice for Rey, obvious win for the challenger here. Rey picking Batista was again obvious, but should be a good match never the less. Decent tag filler, oh crap..... didn't expect the post match attack! I love the idea of a trio for Smith, Taylor, and McIntyre. Should be interesting to see what they do. I hope some pair out of them hold the tag titles, considering the WWE had two sets at this time. MVP using heel tactics to retain the United States Championship was good, I just hope he moves on to feud with someone else other than Finlay soon. The rematch next week will be alright, though. Battle royal served it's purpose with Khali winning, but I can't see Cena returning at the Rumble now if he won't be number thirty. Good ECW match here putting Big Daddy V over before his ECW title match with Punk..... hopefully Punk retains at the Rumble, though. Mysterio helping Batista win the main event was okay, but I didn't like how Batista practically no selled the Conchairto and Speared. Overall, the show was enjoyable and it featured some good build for the Royal Rumble next Sunday.

WRESTLING NEWS: THE MAIN SCOOP
WWE SIGNS THREE HUGE NAMES! Throughout the last seven days, the WWE have scored a dynamite signing - three times over. On Tuesday it was revealed that the negotiations with Ron Killings had completed, and that the former K-Kwik would be returning to the WWE after signing a contract. Next, it was TNA alumni Chris Harris who revealed on Friday morning that he had also signed a contract with the WWE, and was reported to be joining Florida Championship Wrestling this Spring. But lastly, you'll be shocked to hear that the former WWE, WCW and ECW Champion, the Big Show has officially resigned with the WWE. It has been thought that Show will return at the Royal Rumble, but management are apparently holding it off. Additionally, WWE are reportedly in more negotiations with former tag team, Cryme Tyme, and have officially resigned Jim Ross for another three years. We'll have more information next week.
A FIRST IDEA FOR THE HIGH-DEFINITION CHANGE It is rumoured that there is already sketches of the HD-friendly new sets to be used for RAW, ECW on Sci-Fi and SmackDown!. However, neither of them are certain for sure if they will be definitely utilized. One of them contains the exact same set design on all three shows, with simply different graphics. The first time we will see these sets enforced on WWE programming will be following the Royal Rumble; January 28th onwards.
FORMER WWE SUPERSTAR K-KWIK BACK IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE COMPANY It has been rumoured that former WWE superstar, Ron Killings has been negotiating with the company for quite a while now. Killings, who formerly worked for the WWE as rapper 'K-Kwik', was not quite successful in the company. However, Killings has been told he will be taken seriously if he returns to the company.
PAUL BURCHILL POSITIONED ON RAW; OTHER WWE.COM TIDBITS Paul Burchill has been added to the RAW roster on WWE.com after working a dark match on the SmackDown! taping last Tuesday night.

Nice opening promo for Smackdown, a pick your poison shall be good. Actually not too surprised that Chavo was selected as Rey's opponent (Funny how things work out into what they are today looking at this; haha) but it was clear Rey Rey would take the win win. Batista facing Edge is awesome and I'm not surprised by that either. Palumbo and Noble I don't have any complaints about winning. Interesting post match antics with Taylor, Smith, and McIntyre. We'll see where that goes, it's an odd pairing. MVP retaining the United States Title via disqualification I am fine win; I'd much rather him be champion over Finlay honestly. The Great Khali winning and getting number thirty is cool, him getting the upper hand on Undertaker in the end was a nice touch. OhpleasedonthavethemfaceatWrestleMania, although, I don't think you'd do that... or... would you? Big Daddy V getting over Tommy Dreamer is obviously the better choice here, and Punk's little involvement afterward is good. Lastly, a good main event with Batista getting the win over Edge with help from Rey Mysterio. A good show, Danny boy.

WWE Monday Night RAW - Monday 21st January 2008 - Hampton, VA Dark Match: Vladimir Kozlov def. Nunzio @ 1:38 after the Shoulderbreaker.A graphic aired, remembering Martin Luther King Jr. The opening video package for Monday Night RAW aired to kick off the show, and we cut to the live Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Virginia for the go-home show for the Royal Rumble for the RAW brand! Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler welcomed us to the show and hyped up a huge main event featuring the WWE Champion, Randy Orton teaming up with SmackDown!'s World Heavyweight Champion, Edge and ECW's Big Daddy V to take on Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio and CM Punk, just six days away from the big show this Sunday! The theme of Ric Flair hit to kick off the show as the "Nature Boy" strutted his way onto the rampway, Flair climbing into the ring and taking a microphone. Flair began to talk about how rowdy this crowd were for Monday Night RAW. Flair continued as he then mentioned that they were six days away from the Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view. He talked about how just sixteen years ago, there was a guy called Ric Flair, and he lasted all of the way from number three to win the 1992 Royal Rumble match and win the vacant WWE Championship! Flair talked about nostalgia and how Ric is thankful for everything given to him, but what strives with the fans is what brings the "Nature Boy" back for more, beaten up and broken down or fresh from the gym! Flair talked more about his career threatening disposition and how he'd do everything in his power to keep going, because nothing could stop him from achieving the impossible, and going to WrestleMania XXIV one more time, and grabbing that WWE Championship! The fans cheered, when suddenly William Regal interrupted, asking for Flair to show identification for when he was actually qualified for the Royal Rumble match. Regal told Flair that last time he checked, he hadn't officially qualified for an entry in that match, and thus, he's telling all of these fans porkies! The fans cheered, as Ric told William that he liked porky pies and that he also liked these fans! Flair mentioned that he wouldn't do a William Regal and get one over on these fans, not ever! Regal chuckled, telling Flair that he doesn't lie, and he doesn't believe Flair has the gall to risk it all in that thirty man match to lose his career either! Flair grins, telling Regal that every word he speaks there's another lie out of his mouth, and he's not lying to these fans, they mean more than anything to him! And if Regal wants to throw his talk out there, then maybe the RAW General Manager wants to get in on in the ring! Regal was intrigued, and because he was a gambling man himself from Blackpool, if Regal wins, Flair is gone. But if Flair wins, he gets a spot in the Royal Rumble match! Flair instantly accepts to a loud applause, as Naitch leaves. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We returned to RAW to see Todd Grisham standing by with the WWE Champion, Randy Orton. Grisham asked Orton about his loss to Jeff Hardy clean in the middle of the ring last Monday night. Randy ferociously responded, denying that Hardy beat him fairly and squarely last Monday night. Orton declared himself as a "Viper", a man that sees it fit to take it out on his opponents, and when not to strike. When a man is weak, he does everything he can to struggle to survive and get by. Well, with the risks that Jeff Hardy takes, he's going to be left on his last legs once he gets in the ring with this "Viper". Orton then left, seemingly confident about his match this Sunday. 1) Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes def. Paul London and Brian Kendrick to retain the World Tag Team Championship @ 8:19This match proved to be a tough test for the World Tag Team Champions, as Paul London and Brian Kendrick had successfully earned this match with Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly after defeating Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch for their rematch clause last week. London flew around the ring outmaneuvering the veteran Hardcore Holly, a hurricanrana turned into a rollup almost giving the challenger the three. Holly and Rhodes then began to double team London, this match back and forth between the two teams as the crowd were tied. Kendrick finally got the tag and nailed Sliced Bread #2, but Rhodes broke up the pin, and the Silver Spoon DDT took Kendrick out! London ran in to take out Rhodes whilst Hardcore and Kendrick continued to traded blows, Kendrick trying the tornado DDT but Holly threw him off and the challenger ran into the Alabama Slam giving Holly the win! Hardcore Holly got up from his win as the crowd cheered, Cody Rhodes climbing into the ring and joining the veteran as the World Tag Team Champions had just earned their titles in another defense against Paul London and Brian Kendrick. Kendrick slowly got up as London joined him in the ring, the champs offering a handshake to the youngsters, as London and Kendrick accepted before leaving. We returned to the backstage area where Mr Kennedy was shown walking down a corridor, happily strutting off his WWE Intercontinental Championship. However, he was eventually met with the eyes of the "Heartbreak Kid" himself, as Shawn Michaels smiled at him and asked Kennedy if he had seen the lineup for tonight's show. Kennedy said he wasn't, because he was busy getting this shiny belt all polished up and ready for RAW. Shawn laughs, telling Kennedy that that was good, because HBK would have no problem taking it from him tonight! Shawn walked off, as Kennedy looked like he had seen a ghost! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We returned to RAW as Carlito was shown walking around the locker room, clearly not happy with how things were going for himself, but suddenly Santino Marella popped into the locker room, Carlito ready to throw a fist, but Marella placed his hands up, claiming that he wasn't guilty. Carlito had his apple in hand, ready to spit but Santino told Carlito not to worry. Marella told Carlito that he knew he wasn't happy about being neglected from this year's Royal Rumble match, but he had a better proposition for him, and that was teaming up with him tonight to take on "The Hacksaw" Jimmy Duncan and "Supré CrazE". Carlito looked him up and down, before grinning, telling Santino that if it would wipe the bitter taste of not being in the Rumble out of his mouth, why not. 2) John Bradshaw Layfield def. Val Venis @ 3:20This was definitely another day for the "Wrestling God", as the tough Texan was six days away from an encounter against Chris Jericho. JBL took on fellow veteran from the days of the Attitude Era, Val Venis, and the "Big Valbowski" spent no time in trying to cut Layfield down to size with some running clotheslines and even a fireman's carry takedown. But JBL was right back up on the offense within moments, a shoulder block followed up with a dozen or two fists to the face in the corner, then finishing up with the Clothesline From Hell for the three. John Bradshaw Layfield celebrated his win to boos, as the hostile audience just pushed JBL's mood even worse. Layfield picked up a microphone and began to talk about Chris Jericho, and how much he would kick his ass this Sunday at the Royal Rumble. Layfield welcomed Chris Jericho, and he would definitely say farewell to Y2J as well. JBL went on to discuss how he claimed that if Y2J couldn't beat JBL, he obviously couldn't get the job done and win the Royal Rumble either. And the match isn't big enough for the both of them, which is why JBL wants to put it on the line and say 'the winner of Sunday's match enters the Rumble'. Layfield then ordered Jericho to come out to accept if he had the balls to push him further over the edge. Y2J then came out to a loud applause, Jericho getting into the ring with a grin on his face, as he simply paused for a few moments, the Hampton crowd soaking him in Y2J chants. Jericho simply said that he accepted, applying the Walls of Jericho immediately, but JBL slipped to the ropes, sliding onto the apron and then blindsighting Jericho from behind! Layfield pounded away at Y2J before delivering a Clothesline From Hell sending Jericho right over the top rope to the floor! Layfield was sending precaution to Jericho before their match this Sunday! In the backstage area we saw Ric Flair warming up, as the fans cheered the "Nature Boy" lacing up his boots until Triple H then appeared, all smiles for his former mentor. Hunter asked Ric how he was doing, as Flair told him that he was pumped. He told Flair that he was proud of him for doing all of this, as Flair told him that he was doing it for his fans all over the world. Triple H simply smiled and nodded, telling Naitch to kick the RAW General Manager's ass tonight before leaving. Flair vs Regal was next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting tomorrow night's ECW on Sci-Fi episode, as CM Punk will be in action with Elijah Burke! Plus, a taster of Sunday's Royal Rumble match as Umaga, Cody Rhodes, Shelton Benjamin, The Miz, Finlay and Mark Henry will all compete in a six man over the top rope battle royal! All tomorrow night from 9/10 CT on the Sci-Fi Network. 3) Ric Flair def. William Regal to qualify for the Royal Rumble @ 7:18The RAW General Manager started a fuse in the "Nature Boy", and this provoked William Regal to organize this match, if Ric Flair lost he would have to retire, but if he won he would be entered into the Royal Rumble match this Sunday. Ric Flair started off by cornering Regal, the RAW General Manager receiving some hellacious chops in the corner, as Regal soon fired back, delivering some stiff forearms to Regal. William followed up with a clothesline and several boots to Flair, Regal following up with several German suplexes nearly putting Flair away. Regal soon went for the Regal Stretch, but Flair rolled through, then springing up to his feet and delivering an inverted atomic drop, following up with the Figure-Four Leglock for the win! Ric Flair celebrated his win to cheers as the "Nature Boy" strutted around the ring, Flair on his way to the Royal Rumble match this Sunday! Moments later Triple H's theme hit to a loud applause, as the "Game" made his way down to the ring, Hunter smiling as he approached Flair, the two engaging in a face off, and this Sunday only one of them will go to WrestleMania XXIV, but if Flair doesn't win he must retire! Beth Phoenix was shown in the backstage area talking to Melina, as Melina told the "Glamazon" that she had Maria right where she wanted her next Monday on RAW. The "Glamazon" then told Melina that she was flattered for the assistance, but scaring the crap out of her number one contender so much she refused to appear tonight, that's a little too extreme. Melina mentioned how it's a 'dog-eat-dog world' out there to get the WWE Womens Championship. She left as Beth was confused. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |Jeff Hardy was shown backstage to a loud applause, as the "Rainbow-haired Warrior" was standing next to Eve Torres, Eve asking Jeff about tonight's six man tag team match. Hardy talked about how he was the "Charismatic Enigma" for a reason, and that reason is also a reason why he is the number one contender to the WWE Championship, also why he is one of the top superstars in the company today! Kids, fans, everyone looks to see Jeff fly, he's unpredictable. And tonight they can expect no less, another pinfall victory over Randy Orton, just like this Sunday at the Royal Rumble! 1-2-3, Hardy will be the WWE Champion! Charlie Haas then suddenly appeared, the "Mastermind of Technical Wrasslin'" smiling and introducing himself to Hardy. Jeff looked a little confused as Haas simply grinned watching Jeff leave. 4) Carlito and Santino Marella def. Jim Duggan and Super Crazy @ 3:36This new tag team formed together to take on "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and Super Crazy, as the international pair took on another international pair, the Italian Santino and the Caribbean Carlito. Santino and Super Crazy started, as Crazy easily outperformed against Marella, as Carlito got the tag and caught right back up with Crazy, getting back in the driver's seat and working away at Crazy and keeping him from Duggan, but Super Crazy got the tag to Duggan, as Santino came in to be met with several clotheslines, and "Hacksaw" set up for the Three Point Stance just for Santino to move, Duggan hitting the turnbuckle! Carlito nailed Duggan with a Backstabber, and Santino got the three! Santino Marella celebrated his win to boos, as Marella trumpeted around ringside with Carlito, as this tag team had done impressively as a combination against Super Crazy and Jim Duggan. Marella soon got the microphone and talked about how far this team were going to go, and that he wanted to dedicate tonight's match to his frightened girlfriend, Maria; just like on Sunday where Marella will dedicate the Royal Rumble victory for Carlito and Maria! Marella continued trumpeting up the rampway to boos. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |In the backstage area we saw Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch, the two talking about this Sunday's Royal Rumble match, and what their plans were to win it; double team, hunt and eliminate all twenty nine others. They were then struck with the problem that one of them could be eliminated before the other enters, or something. That's when Paul Burchill and Katie Lea Burchill, new WWE superstars approached, Paul telling Cade that he knew that his intelligence was on a low because he was from San Antonio, Texas, but his were high. And he's British too! The crowd booed both comments, as the Burchills weren't seemingly making many friends in the WWE locker room! An advertisement aired, promoting the WWE Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view this Sunday night from New York City, New York to be presented in High Definition! 5) Shawn Michaels def. Mr Kennedy by disqualification; Kennedy retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship @ 16:37This was a high impact match and potentially their tie-breaking match in the series, as these two men have feuded for various weeks, facing off several times in the process. The "Heartbreak Kid" was actually prepared for this match, whereas the WWE Intercontinental Champion, Mr Kennedy only heard of this match tonight when running into Shawn. Michaels flew around with a flying forearm and was definitely on a roll as he went up top and nailed his diving elbow drop, but Kennedy soon fired back, getting the knees up and then throwing him out of the ring. | COMMERCIAL BREAK | Kennedy cheaply worked over Michaels' well documented knee, a single-legged crab applied, trying to keep HBK in the centre, but Shawn finally escaped and fired back, Kennedy running into Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere, but Kennedy somehow kicked out at two! Michaels continued as he worked over Kennedy's shoulder, the WWE Intercontinental Champion then fighting back and working over Michaels again, the two brawling around ringside. | COMMERCIAL BREAK | We returned to RAW again as Michaels was going for the comeback again, HBK delivering a second, successful diving elbow drop and Michaels was up for the Sweet Chin Music a second time the charm, but then Umaga dashed into the ring, the "Samoan Bulldozer" with a superkick to Michaels! The crowd booed loudly as Umaga stomped away at Shawn Michaels, the "Samoan Bulldozer" with a phat driver in the middle of the ring! Umaga followed up with the Samoan Spike whilst Mr Kennedy rolled out of the ring, WWE Intercontinental Championship still barely in tact! Umaga stood tall and dominant over HBK, as Shawn was bleeding from the mouth. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler promoted this Sunday's spectacular Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view to be presented in High Definition. They hyped up the card, scheduled to feature the 30-man Royal Rumble match with a guaranteed spot for the winner in the main event of WrestleMania XXIV at stake; Edge will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Rey Mysterio; CM Punk defends the ECW World Championship to take on Big Daddy V, with stipulations standing that if Punk wins, V must relinquish the title belt of Punk's, whereas if V wins, Punk will not get a rematch; Chris Jericho does battle with John Bradshaw Layfield with the winner entering the Royal Rumble match; And Randy Orton will challenge Jeff Hardy for the WWE Championship, all this Sunday! 6) Randy Orton, Big Daddy V and Edge (w/Matt Striker) def. Jeff Hardy, CM Punk and Rey Mysterio @ 8:40A stacked main event to close down the final edition of Monday Night RAW before the Royal Rumble match, wrapping up the three main matches going into the show in this big match up. Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton started, but Rated RKO soon got the teamwork flowing, and they worked over the "Charismatic Enigma", Jeff Hardy continuously trying to get the tag to CM Punk, and he eventually did, the ECW World Champion springboarding in with a dropkick to Big Daddy V, and Rey Mysterio then came in as well, a triple team effort to finally take down the possessor of the ECW World Championship! The "Rated R Superstar" dragged Mysterio out of the ring as he seemed to be going for a 619 on V though, and he scoop slammed Rey leg-first onto the top of the ring steps! Edge then entered the ring and delivered the Spear to Punk, V slowly and surely running off of the ropes with the big splash, but that's when Jeff Hardy got in there, the Swanton Bomb to the back of V! Hardy slowly got up, but that's where the "Viper" struck with the RKO on Jeff for the win! Randy Orton celebrated his win to boos as Rey Mysterio remained down at ringside, clutching his knee whilst the "Viper" was handed the WWE Championship, Edge with the World Heavyweight Championship and Big Daddy V with the ECW World Championship! Could this be the future of the WWE's primary champion? We'll find out after Sunday at the Royal Rumble, but for now, RAW goes off the air! WWE HEAT - Sunday 27th January 2008 Paul Burchill def. Wayne Costal Beth Phoenix & Jillian Hall def. Just caught up with everything! For now I'll review RAW
-Flair vs. Regal sounds good--of course Flair will win, since I don't Sir Willie retiring him on RAW nonetheless. -I like Orton's "Viper" promo, very Orton-esque promo. -Holly/Rhodes winning is fine, not a fan of Hardcore at any period of time. Post-handshake is a good face move. -For some reason I really want to see Kennedy win the Rumble, I feel like he was always had that "it" factor to be a star. -JBL winning was obvious, I hope Y2J wins at the Rumble though--the post match brawl was an awesome way to lead into their match Sunday. - I like Santino/Carlito winning--possible contender for Rhodes/Holly perhaps? -HBK winning by DQ is good, as it keeps the belt on Kennedy--and it hurts no one. Umaga attack was good, but I find Umaga so stale. -ME was good, the heels winning is awesome--Orton pinning Jeff kinda make me feel like he's retaining.
Good pre-Rumble show for what it is. Can't wait for ECW.

The opening segment between Flair and Regal was a fine way to kick off the show, I liked that Flair wants to go after the title one more time. The "lies" section of the promo was a bit too corny for my liking but otherwise an enjoyable segment and look forward to their match. Solid opening contest, both teams looked good in it. Carlito/Santino was a fun little segment, an alliance between the two could be fun but I hope they don't turn into a full fledged tag team as I'd enjoy a Carlito singles run. JBL/Venis match was kind of eh, could've just had JBL come out and say what he needed. The promo by JBL was good as was the Y2J interference and mini brawl. Flair/Regal was a good match, Flair winning was expected. Liked the little interaction between Triple H and Flair. Jeff Hardy promo was nice, the Haas interaction was weird, not sure I can for it much but I'll wait and see where it goes. Nice win for the Carlito/Marella pairing again hope this isn't a long term thing though. Didn't really care much for the Burchills/Cade&Murdoch segment and technically they would have to eliminate 28 other people. Michaels/Kennedy was a good match, expected some sort of dusty finish as Shawn is above the IC Title and the Umaga beatdown was great, looking forward to a feud between the two. Good main event to hype all three title matches, finish sounded fun with all the finishers.
Overall a pretty good episode of Raw, well booked throughout with some interesting storylines. Seemed to be missing a little bit of rumble hype given the only stuff seem to be built for the matches surrounding the rumble rather than focusing on the Rumble match itself. Maybe could've used an over the top rope exhibition or demonstrating the use of it somewhere, but if it wasn't for that fact that this was the pre rumble show it was a very good edition of Raw. Keep it up.

ECW on Sci-Fi - Tuesday 22nd January 2008 - Charlottesville, VA The opening video package for ECW on Sci-Fi aired, as we cut to the John Paul Jones Arena for this episode of ECW, just five days away from the twenty-first annual Royal Rumble event! Pyrotechnics went off, as Joey Styles and Tazz welcomed us to this episode of ECW, promoting two huge main events, as the ECW World Champion CM Punk will take on Elijah Burke in non-title action, plus a six man interpromotional battle royal to give us a sneak peak of what to expect at the Royal Rumble this Sunday! CM Punk's theme hit to a loud reaction, as the uncrowned ECW World Champion then made his way down to the ring, his ribs bandaged after being big splashed last night by his opponent for this Sunday, Big Daddy V. Punk stood in the ring to a 'CM Punk' chant, as he then began to talk about how last night on Monday Night RAW, he got pretty banged up by his opponent, Big Daddy V. But the fact of the matter is that he knows that he needs to overcome these bruised ribs, which is why he wants to bring it up a notch this Sunday, and make his match with Big Daddy V a Tables match! The crowd cheered as Punk then told Elijah Burke that he's a hell of an athlete, and no discrimination is intended when he says that he will beat Burke tonight, bruised ribs or not! 1) Elijah Burke (w/Shelton Benjamin) def. CM Punk in a non-title match @ 9:20A hot opening contest to kick off this episode of ECW on Sci-Fi, as these two met in a rematch from this past September, Burke and Punk meeting then for the ECW World Championship at Unforgiven. Burke immediately went right on the attack of Punk's ribs, stomping away at the ECW World Champion in the opening moments. But Punk managed to fight back, the "Straight Edge Superstar" showing a mass amount of resilience, a springboard clothesline taking Burke down almost for three. The interference from Burke's ally, Shelton Benjamin was the breaking point for Punk though, as CM Punk came off of the ropes with a diving senton to Benjamin, but it seemed as though it only strained the injury to Punk's ribs, Burke following him outside and delivering various shots to the damaged ribs of CM Punk. Burke and Punk exchanged blows in the ring, but when Punk tried to go for the GTS, his ribs were in too much pain, and Burke capitalized with the cradle for the three! Elijah Burke celebrated his win to loud boos, as Burke and Shelton Benjamin rolled out of the ring, the "Elijah Experience" having gotten a huge win tonight over the injured ECW World Champion! But that's when Big Daddy V's theme hit, and the intimidating 400 pound monster then made his way down the aisleway to boos, accompanied by Matt Striker with the ECW World Championship on his shoulder. V smiled as he set up a table at ringside, CM Punk however realizing and managing to dive through the ropes over the set up table at Big Daddy V! These two didn't want to wait until Sunday, until officials suddenly ran down and separated the two, the Tables match seemingly agreed as the stipulation for Sunday's ECW title match! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |We returned to ECW on Sci-Fi to find John Morrison and The Miz standing around in a corridor, as the "Shaman of Sexy" was telling Miz about how he once dated Torrie Wilson. The Miz was in disbelief, then reminding Morrison about when he dated all three members of Extreme Exposé at the same time. The WWE Tag Team Champions laughed it off, when suddenly the ECW General Manager Armando Estrada appeared, revealing a change in tonight's plans, and that tonight, John Morrison will be in the Royal Rumble Sneak Peak battle royal because he has certain plans for the Miz! Miz seemed intrigued, as Morrison told Estrada that that was cool with him. Miz told Morrison to keep his cool in the main event before leaving with Estrada. 2) Tommy Dreamer (w/Colin Delaney) def. Kevin Thorn (w/Mike Knox) @ 4:12This was a tough test for the "Innovator of Violence" going into it, having to face the powerful vampire, Kevin Thorn after making the save for Colin Delaney last week from Thorn and Mike Knox. Knox stalked Delaney around ringside throughout this match, as Dreamer did all he could to keep out of the clutches of his unorthodox opponent. Dreamer was soon locked in a form of bear hug, Thorn just wearing away at the body of the ECW Original. But after a while, Dreamer fired back, but Knox got his hands on Delaney, delivering the Knox-Out right on the floor! But then Stevie Richards ran down to the ringside area, taking it to Knox, whilst Dreamer delivered the DDT on Thorn for the win! Tommy Dreamer celebrated his win as Stevie Richards helped up Colin Delaney at ringside, the two ECW Originals then helping Delaney in raising his hands tall. | COMMERCIAL BREAK |An advertisement aired, promoting the WWE Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view this Sunday night from New York City, New York to be presented in High Definition! Eve Torres was shown in the backstage area, standing by with Kelly Kelly as she stood next to Balls Mahoney. Kelly was asked about her rivalry with former Extreme Exposé partner, Layla as Kelly called Layla a straight up bitch, and that she'd love to knock the teeth out of her jaw! Kelly talked about how she put Balls up to humiliating her last week, and so next week she wants to invite Layla to that ring to a good old fashioned ECW rated Bra and Panties match to settle the score! Kelly then noted how she wanted Balls to officiate, thus causing Balls to gasp for oxygen in joy. The Miz made his way out to the ring to boos, as one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions was set up by ECW General Manager, Armando Estrada to be taken out of the Royal Rumble Sneak Peek battle royal match tonight to handle something else. Miz talked about how square the fans in Virginia were tonight, as Miz then mentioned how he was walking around the Charlotteville streets earlier and couldn't happen to notice how terrible some of the population's fashion sense was! Miz asked if anybody else could believe that, before suddenly he was cut off by the sound of the debuting Kofi Kingston's music! 3) Kofi Kingston def. The Miz @ 4:55This was definitely a surprise to The Miz, as the WWE Tag Team Champion was set up to be the first opponent of the debuting Jamaican Sensation, Kofi Kingston! Kingston showed off some impressive stiff kicks, as Kofi followed it up by reversing Miz's STO attempt into a move known as the SOS, an STO variation of his own! Kofi continued his attack of fire to a great reaction until Miz soon kicked Kofi in the ribs as he came off of the second rope, the WWE Tag Team Champion quickly going to work on the ribs of Kofi Kingston. Miz delivered the Mizard of Oz, but he was far too confident, and so he toyed with Kofi, taunting the crowd and then going for the Reality Check just for Kofi to come out of nowhere with a spinning kick to the face known as the "Jamaican Buzzsaw" to get the three! Kofi Kingston celebrated his win to cheers, as The Miz rolled out of the ring in disbelief, an impressive debut for the "Jamaican Sensation", whilst the WWE Tag Team Champion couldn't believe this! We then cut to a backstage area, where Mark Henry from SmackDown!, Umaga from RAW and Finlay from SmackDown! were all making their separate ways to the ring, and the Royal Rumble Sneak Peek Battle Royal was next! | COMMERCIAL BREAK |Joey Styles and Tazz promoted this Sunday's Royal Rumble extravaganza, live on pay-per-view to be presented in High Definition. They hyped up the card, scheduled to feature the 30-man Royal Rumble match with a guaranteed spot for the winner in the main event of WrestleMania XXIV at stake; Edge will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Rey Mysterio; CM Punk defends the ECW World Championship to take on Big Daddy V in a Tables match, with stipulations standing that if Punk wins, V must relinquish the title belt of Punk's, whereas if V wins, Punk will not get a rematch; Chris Jericho does battle with John Bradshaw Layfield with the winner entering the Royal Rumble match; And Randy Orton will challenge Jeff Hardy for the WWE Championship, all this Sunday! 4) Umaga def. Mark Henry, Cody Rhodes, Shelton Benjamin, John Morrison & Finlay in a Royal Rumble Sneak Peek Battle Royal match @ 7:13This was a climatic main event to the final ECW on Sci-Fi before the Royal Rumble, as the "Samoan Bulldozer" Umaga started off strong delivering lefts and rights to anyone that he saw. However as the "World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry started to try and go after Shelton Benjamin, everybody laid their eyes on the SmackDown! gargantuan and tried their best, finally managing to get rid of Mark Henry! He was then followed by World Tag Team Champion Cody Rhodes, as he was eliminated slyly by the WWE Tag Team Champion, John Morrison. The "Gold Standard" tried to eliminate the "Fighting Irishman" all match, but Benjamin was eventually lifted from the top rope and sent flying over the top rope! Morrison and Finlay somewhat compromised from there on out, as they went after Umaga, cornering him until Finlay flipped Morrison out of the ring at the last second! Finlay refused to let Umaga get up from there, as he delivered a rear naked choke hold slam, wearing Umaga down, as Finlay got onto the apron to apply it, Umaga grudgingly getting out of it and delivering a Samoan Spike sending Finlay out of the ring! Umaga celebrated his win to boos as the "Samoan Bulldozer" had completed the task and eliminated five other men in the Royal Rumble match this Sunday in the Sneak Peek match! Umaga continued to celebrate until Shawn Michaels appeared on the TitanTron, the "Heartbreak Kid" telling Umaga that he can dominate whoever he wants, but if he gets in HBK's face this Sunday in the Rumble match, he'll feel some Sweet Chin Music! ECW on Sci-Fi went off the air, tension heating up for the Royal Rumble!

Alright ECW. Nice opening promo from Punk, really established his never say die. Burke and Punk always put on a good match so it was nice to see them in a contest. I must say I was a bit shocked that Elijah went over the champ, I actually liked it quite a bit as it established the monster V was by highlighting how damaged the ribs were and how Punk is also going to overcome those odds whilst making Burke and to a lesser extent Benjamin seem strong enough to challenge for the gold and I hope that is a route you do go down, something different and I liked it. Post match attack by V was good, kind of wished you would've made V look like a total monster here and plant Punk through a table or something though. Morrison/Miz segment was fine, hope to see these two continue to be a regular attraction on the show. Dreamer/Thorn was fine for what it was, like Knox laying out Delaney. Classic Balls in the next segment. I like that Kofi Kingston is here, though I think you should've maybe waited a week to debut him after the Rumble so you could focus on the rumble related stuff. Him winning in his debut was expected and hopefully he does get a good push and maybe even a feud with Miz/Morrison. Main event was good and was the type of rumble build I expected on Raw. Everyone ganging up on Henry is logical, kinda wish Umaga went on a bit more of tear but him being the winner makes him look strong heading into the rumble and the match as a whole and the eliminations told a good story.
Overall another good show, probably my favourite of this so far. There's probably a couple of minor things that could be fixed on each show to make this truly great. But it's a great read and your writing and booking is top notch as always and I look forward to the rumble, keep it up.

Decent opening promo from Punk, and I'm a little bit surprised to see Burke get the win. I'm a little iffy on it with it coming in this Sunday, but I like the tables match stipulation for Sunday. Tommy Dreamer getting the win over Kevin Thorn is acceptable, quite a boring match I'd think though. A bra and panties match, eh? And Balls gets to ref! Oh, Balls, how lucky! Kofi Kingston making his debut and winning over one half of the tag team champions I can actually dig, I've always liked Kofi - especially since his ECW days. Lastly, a fair main event to preview the Royal Rumble this Sunday and Umaga getting the win I can dig. A good show altogether.
