FINALLY after 4 months of waiting, Ghostbusters Legion 3 was released today, so I picked that up, along with Ultimate Fantastic Four 12. I refused to get the last Ultimate Spider-Man, due to the extreme lazyness of the crossovers. Come on, are original stories THAT hard to come up with? The Wolverine one was just so rediculous, and this Human Torch one, to be fair, I didn't even look through, so I can't honestly judge it.
I also got the newest ToyFare, GREAT issue. If only they released that magazine bi-weekly...

Really?I loved the wolverine team up... it was funny as hell. I thought it was funny for about four pages, then the fact that it went a month and a half with no real plot, just Spider-Man and Wolverine, not themselves, having "hilarious" mishaps because they are in other bodies. I just saw it as a pointless team up. It didn't help out any stories, it will never be referenced again, and it wasn't even really THAT funny. I read the first part of it, and couldn't bring myself to buy the second part, after I flipped through it in the store, and saw the cause of the story.

My last few orders came in today.
Venom vs. Carnage #4 HELL F'ING YEAH! I dunno if I agree with him leaving his wife and kids but I love he's still alive. There isn't a character alive I'd like to write about more then Toxin right now. He's what I've wished they'd of done ages ago instead of destorying Venom. Any Toxin stuff that comes out is straight onto my pull list
Marvel Team Up #1 From what the letters page said this should be good. They say it'll fit together with storylines and stuff not just alot of random team ups after one another. The first issue was good, great art and great writing. I dunno whats up with the Mutant in this book but it sounds like one of the new villians Kirkman says they'll be creating.
X-Men #163 Pretty good book. Its not the best but I still like Austen's work. I'm really glad he's made it near impossible to have Juggernaut go back to Black Tom
Rogue #4 I really loved this book at the beginning but its really starting to drag. This really could of been done in 4 issues, probally less but oh well!
Avengers Finale AWESOME issue. The double page spreads were great. It really felt like an end of an era even though we know its not, seeing the New Yorkers with their Avengers signs was great.
Spectacular Spider-Man #21 Funny issue however I thought Daredevil blinded Kingpin. Also, its easy to see Jenkins didn't pay attention to Austen's X-Men work, that or I missed Husk and Angle split up
Doctor Octopus: Year One #4 Bit of a weird issue. I'll admit I read these in a loud place so I'll be reading them again tonight to get the full story but it seemed like he cured himself of the radition posion... cause he wanted to!? I don't get it. I'm still loving this story mine, it opens a new side to Doc Ock
Astonishing X-Men 6 Awesome wrap up. Fast ball special ruled all!
Sabretooth #1,2+3 Only read one issue so far but it seems alright. I love the new age arty look.

I just finished reading my first Ultimate Spider-Man TPB. I had some worries going into it, being a fan of the original Spidey. But they didn't mess up too many things. Like, say, organic webbing - in the first Spider-Man movie. I thought it was a little adult (Re: the censored swearing) considering that Ultimate Spider-Man merchandise is marketed to little kids. (Re: the plastic kids Ultimate Spider-Man cup I am drinking out of right now.) I understand Spidey can be a little adult sometimes. The Amazing Spider-Man series I read is adult but in a different way. But over-all I enjoyed it. I hope to get to the Carnage TBP soon. I still have to pick up TBP #8, I think. Whatever one has the Sinister Six. Kim

the Ultimate universe was supposed to be a starting point for younger and new readers to get into comics. Bendis is a good writer thats why the stories are usually pretty good.

Has anyone here been following the Madrox limited series, written by Peter David? To say I've been impressed by David's writing would be an understatement. This series is one of the few times I've been motivated to seek out other books by the same writer. The art is great, and there are even "cameos" by Steve Buscemi and Liev Schrieber (or at least their likenesses).
For those who don't know, Madrox's also known as the Multiple Man, and he can create duplicates (dupes) of himself that he sends out into the world to acquire information. He can then reabsorb the dupes, along with their accumulated knowledge. So basically, he's the smartest guy on the planet, becuase he's had lifetimes worth of life experience in a few years.
The series premise is Madrox sets up a detective agency with Wolfsbane and Strong Guy backing him up. One dupe shows up on his doorstep dying, so Madrox has to figure out who tried to kill the dupe, why he wanted Madrox dead, and what the dupe got itself into. A very cool noir-ish book that breaks the X-book mold for sure.

I don't but actual comics, but I wait for TPB's. I like the idea of a series of collections. Anywho, after about a year of not reading, I finally bought Ultimate X-Men TPB 6, so I'm a little behind. I loved Forge's look though...

As seen in The Boston Herald (BostonHerald.com), article credit to Mark A. Perigard, brought to you all via a few strategic keyboard presses... Alas poor Bendis, we knew him well... I'm a fan of the 'Marvel Knights', 'Ultimate' lines; more so 'Emma Frost' (forgive me father, for I have sinned). I thought 'Wolverine and Punisher' was pretty neat; same goes for 'Cable / Deadpool.' But yeah.. erm... go Joss. ;D

A year ago, Bendis was the Marvel messiah, but he may have gotten full of himself by killing off a couple fanboy favorites.
*Spoiler*
What a ****ty way for Hawkeye to go.

And I believe Joss' 'Fray' was also concluded in 2004. 'Fray' was very complementary for the Buffyverse; same undertones, themes... and... the demons. Mmm.

I just started reading The Green Lantern: Rebirth.
Excellent comic, but sort of hard to follow unless you're a huge Green Lantern follower.
I am also currently in the middle of The Essential Fantastic Four: Vol. 1 and am buying all seven issues of Astonishing X-Men tommorow. I can't wait!

You will LOVE Astonishing (probally... don't sue). Some people don't like the fact the story doesn't seem to move but I feel something happens every issue and we get lots of key character moments. I want story of course but whats the point if it really doesn't matter if its Beast or Reed Richards? Know what I mean?

Well my brother and his friend constantly praise it, and I mean...it's Joss Whedon (and I LOVE Firefly) so, I am pretty enthused to dive in.

Glad to see this is getting posted in again... I gave up and just post at another forum now as does Cosmicspidey.
I love Marvel Knights Spider-Man except for the latest issue were they try to explain why superheros tend to face the same guys over and over. It killed alot of the heat in the story.
Anyone know if Marvel Knights is stopping after 12 or is Spider-Man getting a new team?

Ugh, I got totally turned off comics during the summer. Two of my favorite series were ruined for me in Avengers and ASM.. Pisses me off that writers think they can come in and do whatever the crapthey want.. Anyways, the only books I keep up with now are Astonishing and Nightwing.. I might start picking up Gotham Central but probably not.. I seriously hope Marvel crashes and burns in '05 though. Queseda is a hack who doesn't have a clue on what he's doing.

JMS is off Amazing Spider-Man at some point this year... it seems he's off to Fantastic Four.
