JMS is off Amazing Spider-Man at some point this year... it seems he's off to Fantastic Four. No he isn't, he's doing both. And besides, I love JMS.. He had the best Spidey run ever, IMO, with the Totem Saga... That crapwas amazing.. He just ROYALLY ed up with Sins Past... I have no idea what he was thinking.

So I got all seven issues of Astonishing X-Men last night, and read them all in one sitting.
Oh. My. God.
It's the best thing I've ever read. When the comic ends, you have to move on to the next. It's addicting and almost like watching 24. The art, is also, "astonishing".
Fantastic comic. January 26th will be a great day, as issue 8 and Green Lantern Rebirth #4 come out on that day.

Yay! Glad to see this thread is back! I lovce everything JMS has done on Amazing, including Sins Past. I think Gwen has been put up on this pedestal after she died, and has been treated like an angel for the sheer fact that she died. Her death meant a lot to the Spidey mythos, no doubt, but that doesn't mean she should never be portrayed in anything but the best light possible. No one's perfect, not even fictional characters (unless they're badly written). I love Marvel Knights Spider-Man except for the latest issue were they try to explain why superheros tend to face the same guys over and over. It killed alot of the heat in the story. I hated that too. It kind of ruined Spidey's rogues gallery for me. And I had forgotten about it until you brought it up. Thanks A LOT. Anyway, the worst thing was the villain behind kidnapping Aunt May was revealed to be (spoilers)... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Scorpion! Friggin' Scorpion? Does anyone out there NOT know Peter is Spider-Man now? Scorpion is like a C-level villain. No way he could every be elevated to something as diabolical as this. Hopefully Millar cleans this up so his end doesn't end on a bad note.

No one's perfect, not even fictional characters (unless they're badly written). I've been reading through my Masterworks and it backs this up... Gwen really wasn't as perfect as she's made out to be. Of course this happens in real life, alot of people tend to stay away from talking ill of the dead. Man! Its killing me... my order of: What If Aunt May Had Died Instead of Uncle Ben? What If Magneto Had Formed The X-Men With Proffessor X? What If Dr. Doom Had Become The Thing? What If Karen Page Had Lived? What If General Ross Had Become The Hulk? Astonishing X-Men #7 What if Jessica Jones had joined the Avengers Rogue #6 X-Men #165 (sub) Amazing Spider-Man #615 (sub) Still ain't here... staying away from spoilers is harder then I remembered. BTW Marvel subscriptions still tick me off. It takes them like a week to get back to me about missing an issue but as soon as they see ones about to run up they resubcribe me and charge my card without even asking. I just got an email telling me. I've emailed the back and have said once their up their up and I want no more business with them. They better listen, I've had nothing but trouble from them. As much as I like Marvel comics their subscriptions suck and I recommend you all to look else where before going with them.

No one's perfect, not even fictional characters (unless they're badly written). Yeah, but making her sympothy Norman for basically no reason was intellectually- disabled.. There were plenty of other ways that he could've bought some more character to Gwen without ruining her girl next door/good girl charm.. It was a pretty shitty idea and you and me both know that JMS is a way better writer then that arc showed.. At least he made interviews saying that he really felt that it was a good story and was sorry for people that weren't fans of the story.. It shows he actually cares about the fans and doesn't have a " you if you don't like my shit" attitude like some writers that are named Brian Michael Bendis. MK Spidey sucks pretty bad in general but I'm glad Millar chose Scorpion to be the villain behind it all.. Chameleon would've been just as good, but I'm glad it was Gargan. Plenty of people don't know Spidey's identity in the 616 continuity.. We're not talking USM here. How could he have never figured out Spidey's alternate identity? Contrary to belief, Scorpion was always miswritten. He isn't as dumb as a box of rocks.. He used to be a detective/investigative reporter for the Bugle.. He's a smart individual that got changed into a monster. It's very easy to concieve that he figured out Spidey's identity given his background.

I just finished reading the first two issues of X4. Great stuff, I love the idea.
At the end of the month I am creating a box at my local comic store, so I can reserve Astonishing X-Men, Green Lantern Rebirth, and X4.

Eh, I'm glad that JMS is a fan friendly writer, I really am, but this whole deal has REALLY turned me off. I mean, come on. . . . .is nothing scared anymore? I truely believe that it's Marvel's plan to F*CK things up so badly in the 616 Universe that fans will be begging them to let the Ultimate U take over.

I truely believe that it's Marvel's plan to F*CK things up so badly in the 616 Universe that fans will be begging them to let the Ultimate U take over. Oh don't get me wrong.. The story actually turned me away from buying like 10 comics a week.. I only keep up with 2 series now because of that and Dissassembled, plus them ing up Spidey in Spectacular Spidey.. And I really wouldn't be surprised if they were doing that.. It shows how much Marvel doesn't even care about it's fans anymore.. They're just money hoarding bastards. DC is doing comics right right now... Marvel doesn't know which way is up or down. And Muta those pages were good, but the best dialouge he wrote in the whole series was: Kitty: Peter Rasputin died and I know this because I carried his ashes to Russia and scattered them myself! Peter: You did? *Panel of him thinking* Peter: Thank you. That was just so great... He really took into account the death and the impact of it and figured out what someone would say in the situation.. He's bar-none the best writer at Marvel now. He bought back my favorite X-Man from the crypt and did it VERY well.

My god... how bad has Rogue gotten? This is one of the best examples of how dragging a story out for TPB purposes can kill a good book. I was really enjoying it but it sunk after issue 3/4 and I was rushing threw the last issue. Had I not preordered it I wouldn't of picked it up. Hopefully the new creative team can do some good on the book cause if not I see it canned at issue 12.

Soup of the Day: 'Emma Frost' Issue 13I could make her the center of my own 'Whedonverse'... but the royalty and licensing fees must be more than life and limb.

Uh oh....Chase is developing a fanboy woody for the White Queen. I would love to write a <insert scripted media form here> making her the essential character. Pity me.

Emma does own. She's a bitch... and thats why I like her!
BTW I told Marvel to go stick their subscriptions up their ass so no more complaining about that!
Anyone read Phoenix Endsong? Is Emma portrayed right in that? I should have the first issue by next Friday ;D

||Give me an "S", give me a "P", give me an "O", give me a break! There is no way I'm going to give you "spoiler space" in individual letters; lazy buggers.||Soup of the Day: The pleasantry is out of context unless you read back a page or two. So go out there and buy the Issue 07 of 'Astonishing' if you want to be with the in-crowd. Ah, Logan. ;D

I was actually thinking of checking out the Astonishing books. Are they still selling Part One and such? If you comic shop sells recent back issues yes... if not just grab #7 and buy the TPB for the first 6. I REALLY want to see Whedon right Wolverine/Cyclops/SPOILER/Beast go to a bar... just imagine!
