Truth be told, I've never seen the Exorcist (don't hurt me, plz). Guess I clumped it into the "movies-everyone-has-seen-that-i-should-see-too-but-never-got-around-to-it" catagory

Love when Fattic pops in here! You should hang out here with us more!
Meh, Exorcist is very over rated in my opinion, but the version that was released back in 2000 isn't bad. I haven't seen it in nearly 10 years, so I'm actually pretty pumped for it.

Haha thank you for the kind words Halloween has always been my favorite holidays, even surpassing Christmas, so around this time each yeah I'm kind of like, "Hey! I need to jump in on the Horror Thread, what have I been missing?!" Speaking of the Exorcist, I saw a commercial on TV the other day for it on BluRay. The special features look pretty impressive, not to mention the picture quality and the actual package the disc comes in (opens up like a book). Pretty neat.

Just out of curiosity, what did everyone think of the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street? I was thinking about picking it up on Blu today, but I just wanted to get some opinions, terrible remake... atleast in my eyes. i'm a huge Nightmare fan so i know i was already partially biased going in. i had also heard Hailey was one of the saving graces of the film, but he really disappointed me as well. without giving too much away, my biggest distaste was mostly with the convoluted, new backstory for Fred Kreuger. disappointing on so many levels. people with no imagination should not try to remake or even reboot franchises that had a ton to begin with. it just doesn't work. on that note... anyone seen The House of the Devil? about to watch it here in a minute before i sleep for the night. very excited to see if this one lives up to it's hype as a straight homage to the classic horror films of the 80's.

I watched House of the Devil yesterday. One of the better horror films of the last few years, a definite slow burner. Seems like it could have easily came out in the late 70's/early 80's.
The Exorcist blu-ray is one of the nicest blu's I own. The digibook is great, the film is loaded with extras and is a great transfer. You can price match at Best Buy from the bb.com site and get it for 23.99 which is a great deal for such an awesome package.

Watching the Halloween 1-6 today, pretty pumped. Might pop in H2O as well, depends if I have time, though I likely will. fter today, I don 't have a full ay off work again until October 18th, which is when I go to WWE RAW in Calgary here, then the next two days will be spent playing Fallout: New Vegas. I'll be able to catch a couple movies still, i work a lot of 6-11pm shists, im employing in a theater, so I get all my movies there for free, so i go before work in the afternoon a lot.

Watched Cherry Tree lane and the loved ones today.
Cherry Tree Lane was ok but i really enjoyed The Loved Ones, the girl (villain) in this film is insane.

I LOVED The House Of The Devil. I remember renting it and getting ready to expect the worst because most reviews I read were negative. But I really enjoyed it. My Best Buy and most near me are all out of it. Since its part of the 10 dollar horror sale. I think I have seen MOST of the original Exorcist but I cant recall much. I will end up buying the new release on Blu sometime by the end of the year. I watched Grindhouse for my horror experience last night. I am so glad to finally have the complete thing on Blu! Was awesome watching the movies and trailers! The extra features were pretty nice too. I liked Werewolf Women Of The SS Extended Trailer. GOD I want that into a movie. I went to swap one of my free rentals at BB for Splice or Robin Hood but they were ALL out... I rented the NOES remake instead. I recalled hating it in theatres and I dont think that will change much. But I hear it has a strong audio presentation so I am excited to test it out on the surround sound!

House of the Devil was FANTASTIC. from the entire 80's look and feel, cliched 80's dance sequence, the slow building suspense and while the ending was more of a "how the do you explain that?" rather than a "shock" ending, i'll take it anymore. the film was way more enjoyable than i had anticipated. definately worth a watch. checking out the original Night of the Demons tonight because i had got the remake about a week ago if only so i could stare at Monica Keena's rack, and it got me interested in seeing the original before i'd even watch the remake. also going to check out Dog Soldiers later as well.

Amer looks pretty crazy!
My Soul To Take opens at midnight tomorrow night. I am running low on cash so I will probably skip it until next check. A movie I DO want to get out and see which opens wider on Friday is Buried!

Local blockbuster already put up a small, but decent sized display for horror movies.
