I’ll buy em….. when they are at Ollie’s I predict we'll see pictures of them *stacked* at Ollie's but I guess we'll see.... I guess if it’s $20-25 I might buy it at Ollie’s. But that would only be for the Rock figure. I have zero interest in Rocky Johnson or High Chief

Still its amazing how many characters they made from the classic days. I hope they can finish most of the guys missing before they are done

This set is one of the only things my Walmart has for wrestling figures along with a basic Ronda, several nick jackson exclusives and a few dreaded Nyla rose figures that have been put out recently which I feel like I’ll never see the end off, I’m sure that Roman and Samoans pack will warm just as if not harder

If they wanted to even have any shot at these selling, they needed to make them happen in 2022 not 2024-2025. You'd have better luck at this point releasing a 3-pack with IRS, Bray from his return, and Uncle Howdy. People might actually buy that one... now. But 2 years from now......... That year and half delay on releases is a real b*tch for them sometimes.

I feel like if someone’s got momentum has usually died down before the figures come out, heck sometimes superstars aren’t even with the company anymore when they come out perfect example Ethan Page

Here's the thing -- Mattel DESERVES to take a massive loss on this. Whomever suggested this has no business sense -- there was no way this would ever make money.
The only explanation is they did it to make the Rock happy.
Otherwise, Mattel deserves the crapty sales, and that goes for the person who thought they'd ever make back their money on this. They should learn.

They should learn. I'm honestly pretty sure the reason they made this is because they saw the Bloodline was money in 2022 and tried to make a cash grab. Especially seeing as when it was announced. Same with the new set. They seem to think that The Bloodline is still singlehandedly paying all their bills when most people were lukewarm at best on the notion of Temu Bloodline until two nights ago. Now they just want to see Roman wreck the imposters. But the thing I said to a friend was, at no point were the fans chanting for the OG Bloodline, they were specifically chanting for Roman. This is the Roman Reigns show, and it looks like he isn't going to have the help of guys like Jacob and the Usos (combined) to boost the program. The second set will bomb even worse than the first because WWE has no clue how to strike while the iron is hot, and even if they try to, as said above, that long delay between announce and release means that 9/10 times, the momentum is completely DEAD by the time the figures come out. See the LWO set, for example. That faction stopped being relevant about 3 weeks after the preorders were put up.

That year and half delay on releases is a real b*tch for them sometimes. It really is, agreed. LJN got Outback Jack out faster in the 80's than Mattel can get stuff out today.

Didn't they release this attire that Velveteen Dream hadn't even worn yet, and then he was gone from the company shortly anyway? So they tried to do more "current" looks and that didn't work either. My memory sucks on this, feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

Like at mcdonalds greed has reached its limits.
23$ a figure is too much for most.
I would love to see how the price of plastic correlates with the price increase of the first elites / marvel legends with mutiple points of articulation when they first sold for about 8$.
Bottom line even if people accept 23+ for a non exclusive mass released figure, it will nevwr be widely accepted over 30$. By 2030 we should be at that mark if this trend continues with 3 packs at 100$. Minimum raise doesnt increase enough in comparison = people will limit their purchases.
The completist is already dead. By 2030 they will kill the part time collector

Now there is a quota that usually gets corrected with a newer series. One and done. Larger batches take longer to produce. The other problem is the sheer amount of sublines. Mattel has to ask the factories to produce many more figures than before and articulated figures take longer to make than a rubber cast figure.

Walmart losing money at this point makes me exuberantly happy. Maybe if they lose enough money on exclusives, they'll stop handling them, then those figures can go to someone who actually knows how to properly stock shelves.

Even if it was a loss it would be so small to them to even notice and it’s likely being made up elsewhere in the store.

Checked in again today, none have sold. They knocked 10 bucks off online but that's not enough for me, I can't justify it at any more than 50 bucks.

Fair point that Walmart will lose money -- but it will def. get them to probably take fewer box sets in the future.
The person who agreed to this should also face some repercussions for poor judgment and do better next time -- but we all know since it's Walmart, that will never happen. Seems like a great place to work for lazy employees -- no accountability anywhere!

They discounted a bunch of aew figures at my store, but this set still sits full price. I stand by it though that 10 years from now this will be a sought after set.
