They discounted a bunch of aew figures at my store, but this set still sits full price. I stand by it though that 10 years from now this will be a sought after set. Its so weird, almost everything else on either side of it is discounted, but that set and the ultimates still sit at their original price. Maybe it'll dip around October, that'll be six months since my local Walmart got them in

DiBiase, Mankind, and Papa Shango have been sitting on the pegs for what-- 2 years now? And they are still at full price. I can see this 3-pack having the same fate.

Them banking on the current "success" of Temu Bloodline to sell these things has worked out SO great for them. If they wanted to even have any shot at these selling, they needed to make them happen in 2022 not 2024-2025. You'd have better luck at this point releasing a 3-pack with IRS, Bray from his return, and Uncle Howdy. People might actually buy that one... now. But 2 years from now......... That year and half delay on releases is a real b*tch for them sometimes. In their defense.... Didn't they release this attire that Velveteen Dream hadn't even worn yet, and then he was gone from the company shortly anyway? So they tried to do more "current" looks and that didn't work either. My memory sucks on this, feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken. From what I remember, this wasn't shown with the rest of the previews for E72, and then they finally revealed it after he showed up with that gear on. I want to say it's weird they refuse to take a hit on these and potentially delay throwing a set with Roman on the shelves, but it's not like the world's smartest retailer gives you that many options for feedback, or cares to have the bentonville bunch read any of it anyway.

In that case i might just have to resort to eBay. I've seen a decent handful pop up below retail at this point, I've just held out so I don't have to pay shipping and wait for it to be delivered

I believe every WM I been to has had at least 3 to 6 of these sets sitting the damn shelf. Nobody is buying them especially for $70.00

There was also a Bobby Roode figure in the Survivor Series wave that he was supposed to wear at that year’s event but wasn’t even on the card. Not sure if he ever got around to wearing that gear.

My Walmart has had the Hall, Nash, HBK Superstars for probably close to 3 years. It's killed me to pass for this long, but I refuse to pay 20 ******* dollars for a Superstar figure. No way. It's infuriating that figures that have sat on pegs for that long, don't get marked down.

Its because they all share the same sku. You clearance one then you clearance the whole series. Because Hogan, Flair, Warrior, and Taker were all shipped individually, they had their own separate item number which is why it was easy to clearance them out. Maivia family shouldn’t suffer from the same fate since it also has its own sku. Just give it time and it’ll start being discounted.

Santana, Ortiz, Tay COnti, Nyla Rose, FTR, Lance Archer, exclusive eddie kingston all ROTTING on pegs. its even to the point with some wal marts where they have STACKS of the old figures on the top shelves

I feel like these things sit on the shelf for years, then WM is like oh shelf is still full don't need anything new" but then again how many WM the shelves are empty and they don't restock much either. Any how the Miavia sets must be really cheap for me even to consider buying it. I'm talking $20 or less.

I've heard this before and it makes complete sense. Thanks for sharing the info.

Same thing for me with the Dibiase, Mankind, Papa Shango wave. That was my favorite Superstars set for a while, but now I've seen it every time I go to Walmart for the past what...2-3 years straight? I can't stand the sight of them anymore. I also believe that's the reason I've never seen the Andre Doink wave or the Bulldog Ali wave at any stores near me. Walmart logic tells them not to order any more because they have a dozen on the pegs. I even see people on here complaining about how many red pants Hogans they have in their store, but I've never seen a single one. I love the Superstars Wave, but I'm really close to just giving up on it.

It was there the last time I looked at the Superstars figures. But it's been a couple months since I did that, I don't collect Superstars so I never pay attention. Right now, we've got the Bulldog wave.

I'm pretty sure that the reason Walmart does not clearance older Superstars figures is because every series shares the same assortment SKU. So they have no way to differentiate a series 3 figure that has been sitting on the shelf for 2+ years from a figure from series 10 that may have been stocked that day. So if they clearanced the SKU it would clearance every figure regardless of the series. To get rid of old stock it would take someone from the store to individually clearance each specific UPC for the figures they want to get rid of.
The Maivia box set has its own SKU so that could be clearanced pretty easily, and I'm sure will be once the next set with Reigns and the Wild Samoans is ready to be stocked.

if you want to experiment....buy all of the superstars figures from a walmart, and return them to another one.
then see if the new wave shows up a week later

What is even funnier for me, when this Maivia 3 pack was first mentioned, sooooo many on these here boards were already scrambling for the next legacy/family 3 pack and a vast majority at that were the Steiners. If this Maivia with The Rock 3 pack won't move, then certainly your precious Steiners won't. What’s funny about this is the Roman Wild Samoans 3 Pack that’s coming next is the same idea as the Rock Family set where only serious collectors are gonna want it, a Steiners 3 pack would easily outsell them both. If they released the upcoming ultimates as elites and made a Bron with a new singlet and I’m sure it would sell faster than either of the Samoan sets

Probably wouldn’t have helped but I always felt that the Blue Chipper Rocky Maivia shoulda been in this set considering his name was a tribute to his dad and grandpa. Nation Rock in shorts coulda been in the TNFT pack.

Right now, we've got the Bulldog wave. My local Walmart has two Brays in stock still. It's to the point that they had to put plastic rings for them to hang on because the card hooks have torn off. They actually don't scan in on the app anymore. I moved them to the clearance section hoping that it would trigger a mark down, but they were back in the regular aisle within a week.
