The pack is an odd choice. There are always examples of saving budgets and shelf space but this is a VERY obscure pack. Even as an exclusive I can only imagine it doing so well.

What is even funnier for me, when this Maivia 3 pack was first mentioned, sooooo many on these here boards were already scrambling for the next legacy/family 3 pack and a vast majority at that were the Steiners. If this Maivia with The Rock 3 pack won't move, then certainly your precious Steiners won't. I disagree because we’ve only got 1 Rick and 1 Scott figure each and they are their least popular periods of either’s career. Peter Maivia and Rocky Johnson are way older so they’ll appeal mostly to an older generation whereas the Steiners would appeal to more generations. And the Rock figure in it isn’t even a wrestling Rock. Those movie-based figures appeal to a niche audience of a niche audience. A Steiners 3-pack would absolutely move better than this Maivia 3-pack. Edit: I thought it was Fast & Furious Rock, but it’s Corporate Rock I think. My bad. That changes my Rock theory.

I bought 3....so they are moving in my area. From my experience with the wwe mattel line is the figures that sell like garbage at retail usually turn out to be quite sought after years down the road. I expect this set to be no different.

every store ive gone to in the central region has 3+ on the shelves.
ill give mattel credit the packaging looks awesome.
its just a hard sell to the general public. i think this would have been an excellent RSE pack. High Cheif is pretty far out of the realm for current collectors to WANT a high cheif figure, kinda feel the same with the Rocky Johnson, not too many people familiar and clamoring for a Rocky Johnson figure. to be dead honest i think the maivia 3 pack Rock figure would have been GREAT in the MNW line. Rock was regularly showing up cutting promos in tropical shirts and khaki pants and loafers.

I hate that it being a Walmart exclusive means that it will only ever go down a few cents on “clearance.”

Only if it shows up at Ross or Marshall's for $14.99.

I have ten Walmarts within an hour’s radius, and the only time I see anything in the clearance section more than a dollar or two off is if the box is completely destroyed or the figure is swapped.

My local Walmart is sitting on a full display, from the front of the shelf stacked all the way to the pegboard. It averages out to just over the typical price for a mainline Elite at Wal-Mart, but I'd almost definitely impulse buy the High Chief, and probably not even touch the other two.

I am friends with a 2nd in command and they've told me the full story. The short story is that the top manager has first/final say on clearance amounts. We have a local store that puts things at 50% very quick while most will drop a buck or two at most.

Your definition of "peg warming" is interesting.

It would be a shame if it is. It's a great set. All three figures are really great.

I'm familiar with those other figures. Most of the time I see things move well initially with the dedicated collectors the first two weeks, and then after that things sell well or slow down. This one sat right out of the gate in my area.
