But those aren't big names in terms of marketing value in 2024. If anything, the fact that they've been entirely ignored by the WWE for the past 30+ years means they have little to no value in terms of WWE Legends deals. I'm all for getting as many FTIL figures as we can. But don't expect anything beyond the usual churn of new names. It's a loaded question/statement. I don't know for certain who's right here. On one hand you have a point. Kids today don't know who Paul Roma is, kids don't know who Ultimo Dragon is. Kids today probably don't know who Ric Flair is. So you're right in that the name recognition isn't what it used to be. But I dont think Kids are the primary customer for figures. I think it's mostly grown adult men that buy figures. My 9 year old has no idea who HHH or HBK are, but those figures get made non stop. So I know it isn't children that the figures are marketed to. I know my 9 year old is more likely to ask me for 30 dollars worth of Vbucks or Robux or Shiny Rocks before he asks for a physical toy, like a figure. And as an adult buying figures, I know I'm more interested in names of yesteryear than I am in a figure of the newly signed divas. The counter to that is it’s never been easier with youtube, network etc to find out about older stars. Not to mention the great encyclopaedias etc they do - my 8 year old can tell you top awa or mid south stars, the vin erichs, he’ll tell you how long Bruno held the title for etc. so some are into the older stuff. Also when it comes to toys it’s all snout look. The blue bezerker with sword, big furry boots, horned hat etc looks way better than Randy orton in plain black trunks etc.

Are there any new legends in the 24 game? Not yet. Everyone revealed thus far (about half) has already had a figure made. Will the be revealed once the game is released? Or is it that some will be in the DLC and won’t know until the DLC is revealed?

I think there's still a lot to be said for how toyetic the characters of the past looked.
I've mentioned before that I work for a network of children's shelters, so I do a lot of the shopping for kids in the system at Christmas time. As of last year, there were pretty much four constants when kids asked for wrestling stuff - John Cena, Roman Reigns, Macho Man, and Ultimate Warrior.

I know I am extremely biased because I grew up in the 80’s, but this is the exact reason why I love that era so much more, the “real life” super heroes and villains, with vibrant colors and larger than life personas (yes, steroids were a big part of that look too). The attitude era and beyond has shifted wrestling to grittier, more realistic looks, but also less fun and toyetic imo (there are exceptions, of course- Cena, Taker, Bray, New Day, Fin, Rollins).

SCSA, Hulk, Warrior, Hogan, etc will pretty much always move merch. And the WWE machine does a great job of keeping those names relevant through various properties. If a kid plays WWE Supercard, they know the Warrior as being just as powerful as Cena or Reigns.
