I would have taken a Bischoff basic with a painted on nWo shirt and a jacket (like the Fiend had a few years ago). Why would my non wrestling Bischoff need 200 points of articulation just to stand there? I wonder if now that RA Elite has been released and eventually the Nitro ring Ultimate will be released, if a WCW/nWo Basic will be coming out eventually. Hopefully the Ultimate could be used for like a street gear Syxx or something lol

Because it gets people to buy the ring. The main goal of the offering (from the company’s selling point). is it that bad, that nobody wants to buy it and the only way to get rid of it is to tag it on with Eric Bischoff? If so then why did they even bother to make it? lol Makes no sense why they didn’t release them separately :/ :/ :/ :/ Because with the bischoff, it’ll sell… to anyone who isn’t just plain cheap. Then, down the road they can sell accessories for the ring too.

I can't believe how many people don't understand.... this is how business works. Add something cool so maybe more people will buy it.... use the molds we already have and try to milk as much money as possible out of those molds.... this is standard stuff that every business does (or SHOULD do to stay profitable). I just don't understand all the anger? If you don't want it - don't buy it. I'm on the fence; It's a lot of money - and the ring will take up a lot of space. I'm a die-hard WCW (and Bischoff) fan.... I'll probably order it, but I need to line up a way to pay for it and not feel like I've overspent. Problem is that I WANT it but I can’t buy it because this ring has made it impossible to afford. My other options are: hope he’s put up separately on eBay and the buy him for scalpers pricing OR pre order the set on RSC and get scalped by Mattel Can’t always get what you want. They strategically paired the ring with this figure so they’d make money. You’re asking them to not want to make money.

I think if I remember specifically it's scaled to WWE elites, but should be a little smaller. In the real world the WWE ring was bigger than the WCW ring. So in theory, yes it's not scaled to what a WCW ring would be. Honestly, I think at the very least I would of appreciated some tooling for the ringposts. The Toybiz rings got it right in the 90's. Now, I'm just contemplating on whether to get this ring because I nearly sold off 80 percent of my collection and just haven't been feeling like collecting recently. I'll probably cave in because my collection is mainly WCW based. I'm in the same boat actually. I'll be selling off the majority of figures for superstars that came after the Ruthless Aggression era and only keep my Legends and alumni. I haven't been feeling like collecting for a few months now and current WWE talent does not interest me in the least. I barely watch the product anymore and that has translated directly into what I collect and what I don't. I also worry that not enough of the missing legends/alumni we still need won't get made. Often times I'll think about who I'd want only to think "oh wait they probably won't happen because of yadda yadda yadda." I think overall it's just easier to collect a specific era. You can nail down specific attires, don't have to buy figures that don't fit your roster and can save a little money. Only problem is that the hobby becomes a little boring when they don't release figures from the era you collect. I'm at a point where I say I'm going to buy a figure and forget. I think the best era for me was Monday Night Wars. As a kid I was scared of Kane and The Undertaker. Wrestling was gritty and super fascinating. Sting was my favorite though. I also enjoyed the Ruthless Aggression era too. The last decade has been going down a spiral imo. I started losing interest around The Shield era, but looking back that was a pretty decent time. You had the Wyatt family, Daniel Bryan, Goldberg etc.. I think once we started to get names that I didn't recognize that's when it went downhill and I was like yeah, this isn't for me anymore. I tune in to watch some highlights of some characters I enjoy every once in a while, but overall I started to watch other sports. I've been into boxing recently.

For sure and that's what I'm hoping to achieve here is to restore my love for collecting by honing in the eras I watched. Only problem is that we're not filling those holes in the line of talent we need.

I think it's good in a sense, I need a break. However, I like getting figures every once in a while. With the current talent I could use Mr.Perfect WCW Starrcade '97 Scott Hall red/black trunks, six ball shirt and black boots Kevin Nash Souled Out '96 DDP UE in jeans Billy Kidman (maybe he could be signed at some point) Booker T black flames attire Syxx WCW World Tour attire Rey Mysterio Halloween Havoc with the correct mask Scotty Steiner with white singlet

I don’t understand why Mattel insist on keeping WCW ultimates behind ridiculous paywalls. Why can’t they have released that Bischoff on his own for those who don’t want the ring? Have 2 options: since plenty of people collect figures without rings and nobody collects rings without figures then why not sell the figure on its own as an option and the ring/figure bundle as another option? They’d make more money and reduce the chances of scalper ring prices on eBay etc sold by those who only bought the pack for the figure. I’m from Australia and instead of paying 75 for the figure, this pack is going to cost me 354 AUD because it includes a hunk of plastic paperweight I totally understand where you're coming from (I'm in the UK)... the shipping/customs for this thing will be ridiculous. On the other hand, I do think it's a good business move by Mattel and understand why they did it. I'm surprised the UE RAW ring didn't come with a better figure, actually... I'd have done an UE Attitude Era Vince McMahon with soft-goods RAW Is War jacket. Or something. Anyway, I think your/our best bet is to look out for the Bischoff figure separately on eBay (or the classifieds on here?)... it will no doubt be quite pricey, but at least the shipping would be far more reasonable. Failing that, I'm sure you'd be able to sell the Nitro Ring separately to get some money back.

The WCW Nitro ring is meh. I really don’t like the ring mat doesn’t have “TNT” in the logo. That’s hard to ignore and making a custom ring mat is not a project I have any time for. Also the ring is too big. WCW used smaller rings than WWF. WCW ring steps also had only three steps and it was one single piece. Mattel is just reusing all the WWE ring parts with Nitro graphics

(...with bonus Nitro ring. Or something... 🤷♂️)

Make it an RSC exclusive then. Problem solved. My point is they should have made an option to buy him separately and those who want the ring get him thrown in for free or discounted It is a ringside exclusive lol Exactly, no reason not to sell the figure by himself on RSC and also have an option to buy the ring with him included for a bit less than the single unit.

People like me aren’t going to be buying this as a result of the decision to lock him behind that ring paywall because we can’t justify 355 dollars for it. If they released an option to buy him on his own then a considerable amount of people would buy him l, and since those who want the ring are going to buy it no matter what so I don’t see the big deal here. Unless nobody wants the ring at all, then why would Mattel make such a silly decision to produce it?

I get why Eric is an Ultimate. You want to be able to have him with the jacket on/off and most would like to do the pointer fingers into his dimples pose which will look better with the added articulation. The white shirt is a weird inclusion because I don't expect anyone to ever use it, but whatever. Personally, I'd have liked an alt head with shorter hair and a 5 o'clock shadow. Maybe some karate gloved hands. I donno.
They showed this thing off with the WCW stage thinking fans will want to have the ultimate WCW setup, and I would have actually been surprised if they scrapped the ring after the stage failed. Its stupid that WCW is going to have this monster ring, but they were never going to make yet another ring mold just for this set.
What I find to be the tough pill to swallow is that price point which is at $150 before shipping and taxes. the original ring was roughly $160 if you assume each of the 3 Ultimates it came with were $30. Mattel is selling the Kane ring right now for $140 (RSC for a whopping $200). This mold is more than paid off already lol. I'm not dropping $200 for Easy E.

Buy the ring or don’t get it it’s pretty simple You see, this type of tone deaf mentality is what’s brought us here. You’re privileged enough to reside in a place where these issues don’t affect you and thus you basically have zero right to tell me “buy it or don’t, it’s pretty simple”. Just because the choice is simple for you doesn’t mean it is for everybody else. This thread was made because Mattel has been making it super difficult for fans of WCW to continue collecting and going by most responses, many people agree too. Keeping quiet doesn’t fix anything. Again, I do want to buy it, but I can’t. I’ve been looking forward to this figure since the first announcement but the fact that they’ve gone into scalper territory with the price has really dampened things.
