My only issue is that there isn’t any specific tooling for the WCW ring. It’s just a WWE dressed up in a WCW setup. I would have liked to have seen some proper WCW ring posts and turnbuckles. They were one of the more unique looking ones that I can remember in the last decade or so. I also understand that the ring would sell regardless, so they’re not going to spend tooling just to satisfy fans :/ So then this ring isn’t even in scale? The WCW ring is supposed to be a different scale than the WWE ring? I’m pretty sure that’s how it was irl. I think if I remember specifically it's scaled to WWE elites, but should be a little smaller. In the real world the WWE ring was bigger than the WCW ring. So in theory, yes it's not scaled to what a WCW ring would be. Honestly, I think at the very least I would of appreciated some tooling for the ringposts. The Toybiz rings got it right in the 90's. Now, I'm just contemplating on whether to get this ring because I nearly sold off 80 percent of my collection and just haven't been feeling like collecting recently. I'll probably cave in because my collection is mainly WCW based.

Just keep pimping out that giant oversized ring that’s 1.5 square inches to big to begin with.

The idea is to re-use the mold from the New Gen/RAW is WAR ring to get their money worth. Placing Eric Bischoff as the figure will help drive sales. Leading to more profit for Mattel. How are people still not understanding this approach? Honestly. The New Gen ring was made under the pretenses that it was 100% funded by those who backed it. The mold + production was priced in as X amount of units in the crowdfund project. And its not the people don't understand "higher price = more money for Mattel." Its that people do not want to buy a ring to get a FTITL Ultimate figure. People want the figure but don't have room for another ring. And, the OP explained they're in Australia and they're paying out the ass for this set if they want Bishoff because international shipping and customs. People aren't asking you to come to the aid of Mattel's shareholders. They are questioning their practices. They said they wouldn't pressure us collectors to buy multiple rings after the crowdfund but they put a highly desirable figure as an exclusive in a $150 ring.

Seems like there's always some kinda challenge for WCW figures. Either a store exclusive that's a pain to find, exclusive multipacks or rings and crowdfunds.
I'm convinced someone at Mattel hates WCW.

I don’t have much time myself for this kind of rubbish. It’s framed as a good deal in the context of getting the big piece, you get a cool figure too which if you were of the persuasion that you’d like both, that’s fine.
What I absolutely detest about it & what Mattel more than most over the years have trumpeted out about these sorts of shanghai deals and the tertiary exclusive lines is that this, this is the only way you would ever possibly be able to get this figure… which is not only disingenuous, it’s an insult to consumers to assume they have the cash and passion to dig out for these expensive offerings. Disgusts me. They’re charlatans, plain and simple.

POOR-ly Cuyler They're delusional. I still haven't opened up my New Gen set, just saving it to sell it one day because I just won't have space if I get this ring too. I know this ring is smaller than the OG RSE, is it drastically smaller or not noticeable? I remember the OG one I had was overscaled where it was kind of annoying to pose the figures inside. I think for once, I'll agree and say this thing is overpriced. I know we have inflation, but even with the WFIGS coupon it comes out to $160ish. I'll wait for a sale, but knowing how things work... It'll probably be sold out or even more expensive... I understand Ringside is a business, but free shipping or something along those lines would help.

The WWE ring is 20x20 and the WCW one was 18x18. Cardona has said the real scale ring is scaled too big for even the 20x20 ring. So the WCW one is definitely not in scale. Plenty of people have been asking for a ring sized in-between the real scale and the basic ring. This would have been a good opportunity to make that happen, and they obviously decided not to go that route. It's kind of futile expecting the guy who doesn't know the difference between dark brown and baby sh*t brown to get something like this right. He's too busy focusing his attention where it belongs, on Nakamura figures.

Because they want to sell the ring. The thing they spent money on, creating the mold. Yeah, then sell it to those who want it. Why do people who just want Eric Bischoff have to be included in this ordeal? lol $33 Bischoff in the main line would rot on the pegs, Jakks could barely sell him at $8 when he was on Raw every week Also there is a WWF vs WCW line at Walmart? For regular retail price?

How are people still not understanding this approach? Honestly. I can't believe how many people don't understand.... this is how business works. Add something cool so maybe more people will buy it.... use the molds we already have and try to milk as much money as possible out of those molds.... this is standard stuff that every business does (or SHOULD do to stay profitable). I just don't understand all the anger? If you don't want it - don't buy it. I'm on the fence; It's a lot of money - and the ring will take up a lot of space. I'm a die-hard WCW (and Bischoff) fan.... I'll probably order it, but I need to line up a way to pay for it and not feel like I've overspent.

I'll probably cave in because my collection is mainly WCW based. I'm in the same boat actually. I'll be selling off the majority of figures for superstars that came after the Ruthless Aggression era and only keep my Legends and alumni. I haven't been feeling like collecting for a few months now and current WWE talent does not interest me in the least. I barely watch the product anymore and that has translated directly into what I collect and what I don't. I also worry that not enough of the missing legends/alumni we still need won't get made. Often times I'll think about who I'd want only to think "oh wait they probably won't happen because of yadda yadda yadda."

Member when we were promised we wouldn't be pressured to buy another Ultimate ring after funding the first one? Good times. They aren’t putting a gun to your head and forcing you to buy it…

My other options are: hope he’s put up separately on eBay and the buy him for scalpers pricing OR pre order the set on RSC and get scalped by Mattel

I would have taken a Bischoff basic with a painted on nWo shirt and a jacket (like the Fiend had a few years ago). Why would my non wrestling Bischoff need 200 points of articulation just to stand there?

It’s the third ring (Arena, Raw, Nitro) and hopefully the last one. I am running out of space for rings. Also don’t really need another topic. ECW scale ring with Paul E mid 90s version coming soon lol Na, it will come with a FTITL Sandman
