Don’t feel bad. English (American) is my first language and even I struggle at times. Jamie enunciates things just fine but it always takes my brain a half second to process what he is saying. And if Daniel is talking, forget about it lol. Actually is fine too unless he starts talking about something region-specific. Usually I listen when I can do something that doesn’t require much concentration (house work, driving, lovemaking, etc.).

I don’t think he came across remotely decent. His excuses were poor and it only seemed like he had an okay sense of humor because the insults were lost on him. Hate to say it but I think he was lying about the death threats to garner sympathy. Actually, I don’t believe anything he said except for his admission that when his product was being attacked, he felt personally attacked. I suspected but didn’t know for sure that he himself sculpted all the figures. He still couldn’t admit that they were the worst looking figures on the market and kinda doubled down on standing behind them by saying they looked exactly like the digital renderings. The interviewer later pointed out to him that they do not and have the example of the hair on roadblock lacks the detail shown in the rendering which he made up an excuse for but moments earlier swore that there was no difference between the digital rendering and the actual production figure.

Not sure why the possible scammer title got removed. The figures he claims would be arriving Monday or Tuesday aren’t in peoples hands. That very well may have been all talk to buy himself more time. He has t made a post reiterating anything he said in the podcast like he said he would. The only post he made was a story post selling more prototypes.

Fair enough. I would have expected him to at least announce that he received the shipment on Monday or Tuesday like he was expecting to. I’m in agreement. Not everyone knows about that interview nor should they have to. Sal said on Facebook to me that he was getting the figures a day early…we’ll see.

Agreed. My brother is mentally handicapped so that word has a bit of a different impact. It's one thing when people own up to mistakes. We all said dumb things when we were kids. Part of growing up is realizing the hurtful feelings certain words can cause, then hopefully we grow up to be empathetic human beings and realize how and why words can hurt people and cut them out of our daily speech.

sal saying "the r word" in that dismissive and mocking tone in that interview shows that he still doesn't see why using that word has hurtful effects, or just doesn't care. Not a good look for a guy who's on a damage control tour playing the victim.

I'm not trying to be THAT guy, but one thing I will say is that the word "idiot" was used in the exact same way as the "R" word as a medical term, along with "moron, cretin, and imbecile." But those words have stuck around pretty casually while the "R" word has been crucified.

It can also be legitimately used to describe a situation that has gone awry, rather than a person and their mental state.

Again, not sticking up for Sal or anything, as he's a jackass,.and I don't know in what context he used the word, but I'm just playing devil's advocate. 🤷

It is treated as politically incorrect/socially unacceptable/culturally insensitive/you get the point.

My best friend growing up had a sister with down syndrome. Since I was 5, I have learned/practiced better ways to express myself that don’t involve hurting others. But I fully understand when someone isn’t as familiar with these delicate matters. Language and social norms are ever-changing and I try not to hold it against people who still use it out of habit…if they are apologetic and trying to correct themselves. If people view that as woke or are unwilling to change because they simply don’t want to…well, I have very little respect or tolerance for that.
