I don’t have any kind of direct link to the 3POA interview with Adam from Rush but you gents can figure it out from here:
epic-toys.co.uk/pages/3poa-presents-the-epic-toys-podcastIm listening to it now. Here is a recap of the first 60 minutes:
Sal says they were shorted 260 figures.
They were supposed to receive I *think* 2,100 figures.
He didn’t want to say anything about this yet and he would never steal anyone’s money. “I will always make good be it a refund or the actual product.”
Now he says they were shorted 240 figures. He claims he isn’t very good with numbers…
Says he has been fighting with the factory for about a month to resolve this issue and they take no blame for the missing figures.
Sal didn’t want to say anything about the situation until he had photo and video evidence that the owed figures were still arriving. If the factory had told him no, he claims he would have refunded the money.
Those owed figures for the hookedontees.com orders should be coming to Sal by Tuesday. He said they probably won’t start going out until at least Friday so that he has time to look them over (QC).
Jamie calls Sal a moron. Somehow there is another 2 hours and 20 minutes remaining.
Sal calls himself a douche and Jamie agrees.
Rush is using a new factory.
Estimates 5% of the figures put out have fallen apart. Says that he has offered some replacements and others refunds.
Sal admits that he didn’t want to make a statement because of everyone knew he was fighting with the factory, they would have asked for a refund.
Sal throws Mitch under the bus. Not really but he has regrets about letting Mitch cut in line. Basically gives Mitch a reach around but in a romantic way. Really puts him over as a person/friend.
He said he and Mitch are using two different factories now. Jokes that his quality will be better.
Apologizes for his figures coming out months later by letting Mitch go first.
Larry Zbyszko is thrown under the bus for being old and not understanding the contract. Basically he loves Larry but there seemed to have been some crossed wires…and this part sounds fishy. He was waiting until all the figures came in before he was going to send Larry his physical check (because Larry doesn’t use online banking like PayPal or Cashapp).
Said he never ghosted Larry, Larry was sent progress photos, and everything is worked out now. He also doesn’t want to go into detail about how his contracts are structured.
Voices are done. 3POA will be cancelled by Tuesday.
Every contract is structured differently in terms of when they receive compensation.
Claims he has people signed for multiple figures, shirts, etc. and it would be stupid if him to not pay someone because it would ruin his chances to work with others. If word got out between wrestlers, no one would trust him.
Makes a joke about the R-word again.
Jamie asks if swapping French Angel for Jonah helped fund the other figures. Sal says no, Larry sold really well but he funded a lot of this out of his own pocket.
Jonah signing with WWE made him RUSH the figure out (similar to Gargano). His reasoning was to avoid legal issues with WWE.
ECW Line. Rush created some samples with the first factory. Said he is holding off doing anything with them (waiting to switch to a different factory from the sounds of it). He had 6-7 samples made already and each one is about $500 each. Samples included Simon Diamond, Bill Alfonso, Sign Guy Dudley, Mikey Whipwreck, and a surprise.
No Joey Knight, Joel Gurtner, Cardona, or Meyers.
He doesn’t know what the future of the line holds.
Sal hired a China-based QC manager. This guy has connections and industry experience.
Why did Rush have problems with poorly made figures that no one else has had? Says every line has growing pains (Sal provides some questionable examples of other lines having early QC issues).
He has hired a new sculptor.
Sal says very few people were burned by figure issues and those few became very vocal.
Basically says that he approved Awesome samples but the final product wasn’t what he agreed to. He said he had to bend over and take it and it left him with no leverage and hurt the customers too.
