Never heard of these before this thread….does anyone have pics? … In particularly one of Magnum TA Here are the 6 figures they've shown so far. These would be the figures in the first wave if the line gets made.

I googled this line & have been reading up on it tonight….the jaw dropping names I’ve seen listed so far would be amazing, if this line is done correctly & lasted long enough it could quite possibly overtake Jakks CS as the ultimate Legends figure line & that’s something I never thought might be possible…..I for one certainly hope these come to fruition because if there’s any truth to the 150 names already signed (according to the article I read) then the future possibilities would be endless

Especially if they are going to make figures of wrestlers the WWE and Mattel won't/can't sign. The more the merrier. I do hope that if these get made, that they will in-scale with the Mattel figures. I haven't seen the list of names, but apparently there are around 200.

Was there any timeline that the crowd funding start date may be?

Wheres the “depending on the scale” option? Thats what i vote for. I can only invest in something that will fit in with the majority of my collection and thats mattel jakks and aew 6 inch scale.

I won't be supporting a predatory toy company that tries to hoodwink the very talent that its claiming to support. Call me when they offer a license fee and a better royalty than 5% for LIFETIME exclusive rights.

I agree in principle that a fair royalty should be paid But ironically the podcast leaking the royalty info also say “it’s the toy business not the toy friendship” and let’s face it, this talent roster won’t be getting figures elsewhere. So is it better to have a small % of sonething or 100% of nothing?

I'm telling you as someone who's been dealing with people in the wrestling industry for the past year to work out figure deals.. This is the offer they're giving people. And generally in most cases their opportunities aren't as limited as they were two years ago. You have Zombie, Chella, FC Toys, Major Bendies -- all of which pay their talent and don't ask for exclusive rights. What Power Town is asking of their talent is insane.

I’m behind you pal and what the chella team are doing and 100% pulling for you guys to absolutely smash it. I agree there’s a lot more avenues today than 18 months ago. However people like thez will have very limited appeal, as will the elder Rougeau family - realistically who is interested outside Raymond snd Jacques? The early dibiase and Stan Hansen will be of some interest but again - how far down the line would Stan be for chella or ZST? I could see junk yard doing one, but as much as I love the look of those figures they have a more limited appeal. I love the mattel Bruno but it wasn’t a hot seller from what I read and prople don’t really talk much about it now. If I was to put in a defence for them it would be that they are not just doing figures - they’re looking at books, comics (or graphic novels), other media and maybe they think the royalties will add up? Again not saying I think 5% is fair necessarily but just offering another viewpoint In an Ideal world people would pay a fair royalty, a fair rate to get them made, and sell them for a fair price. Unfortunately a lot of people will always want to pay less or charge more depending on where in the chain they are. The one thing I don’t like is the lifetime thing. That to me is where it’s questionable

I'm definitely interested in some of the talent they've already presented, but how likely is this to even get to the Kickstarter phase? As for using these guys in other media like graphic novels etc., it sound good, but how interested is the general public going to be in that for obscure old pro wrestlers?

I have a VERY hard time buying that claim they are making -- but I guess we'll see

It is very unusual A toy fare exhibit etc along with usual channels would seemingly be more fruitful. With social media etc it would be very simple to get word out - as has been proven by the fact people are already talking about them

The little bit I heard from the Major Pod last week where they quoted an interview made me even more skeptical. The way they came to hear pro wrestling was popular again, them surveying toy collectors, and then their claim that fans wanted the really old school stuff (sounding like the 60’s and 70’s, not the 80’s and 90’s). I would be interested to hear their other ideas for merch…a graphic novel of Lou Thez vs Godzilla sounds like fun but I’m maybe one of 100 people that would buy it.

I mean I find some of the early early days stuff interesting, like the Hackenschmidt gotch stuff and there’s a few interesting stories from the 50s etc but but I don’t think prople are after figures of that era. I’d say early 80s really is the peak of going back through time.

I absolutely find the pioneers of wrestling interesting but probably not enough to buy many of their figures (if at all). I think their products will be such a niche of a niche market of a niche form of entertainment. To be fair though, I do have a display with Rikidozan, Inoki, and Baba. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that myself and others would be interested in having a founders/pillars of wrestling collection. However, many of the historic jobbers? I just don’t see them selling more than a hundred of them (especially after the novelty has worn off and people are tired of paying a higher price point).

I’d be all in for Rikidozan, Inoki and especially Baba. When they would get down to the Pez Whatley and Reno Riggins territory it’d be a tough sell.
