I'm one step closer to having a complete Hasbro series 1 set... Nice. I just did the Macho Man knee pads yesterday. It always drove me nuts that they didn’t have him come with them. I’m gonna go through my extra things and make a Hogan that looks just like yours. Thanks for sharing the pic! Ted rules in the black tux - I hate the green one he came with because the fit is weird. Also how is the fit on the Bossman? I hope it works and isn’t too baggy.

Bossman is easily one of my favorite figures in the line- I think they absolutely nailed it.

While shopping at one of my local WMs over the weekend, I decided to see if their Superstars situation had changed at all. It had not; close to a dozen red-pants Hogans. I did see a SS fig on the top shelf, but couldn't tell who it was. I'm tall, so I was able to reach up at grab it. It was a dust-covered Wyatt, who I'm guessing has been up there for literally years at this point. I only buy legends (and Knuckle Crunchers), and I'd say the Bray has achieved Legend status by now. I went ahead and purchased him. Not the least bit surprised that he rang up at full price, either.

Walmart near me put out a fresh case of Hulk, Andre, and Doink today. Looked as if the case they were in got stepped on because the cards were fudged up with the bubbles barely hanging on. Picked up the Andre for my loose collection and left the chase Hulk, regular Hulk, and doink hanging.

While I have found all figs from S1-8 (including chases) in the wild, since S9 (and now S10) have all basically solely landed on eBay, I am as enthused about this line as the students in Bueller's economics class. Such a shame too, so much promise and they are so well done!

Nothing new around here, 1 walmart typhoon , the rock, maybe macho man, although someone may have bought that or moved it (macho man), second one just million dollar man a bunch of them, and the 3rd capt lou, vader, piper, and maybe the rock. getting frustrating you can't keep fans, collectors interested if you don't stock.

I am going to wait it out until Comic Con, if we don't get any news, announcements about changes to help improve the availability of this line then I am done. Its beyond ridiculous at this point, both companies, it seems, suffer from incompetent management and neither one has any interest in fixing the problem that exist. At this point, if they can't find a way to fix the distribution problems then they should just cancel the line and put us out of our misery. Congrats Mattel, you have managed to ruin a perfectly good hobby, collecting wrestling figures used to be a fun endeavour back in the good ol' days, now in the Mattel era it has become anything but fun thanks to the extreme difficulty in finding these damn figures- BUYING TOYS SHOULD NOT BE THIS DIFFICULT!?!

I have pieced together series 8 (no chase Hogan yet) randomly at my Walmarts. Found a Capt Lou in a different nearby city by pure luck, and I have never seen any S6 fig in stores. The only way I was even able to do this is because I work from home and can just dip out to Walmart because I have the time.
Piper was miraculously available on walmart dot com (and on sale) when I bought it.
I think I've finally bought more from Walmart than 2nd hand, and it took 3 years to do that. Pretty bad.

Loose figures selling for 5$ a piece in lots. This basically solidifies that the majority will just buy these and keep them in package.
Walmart has managed to screw over every faction of this hobby. It's great that up until now people have been able to catch up but moving forward (besides newcomers who don't read this thread and are buying s9 and 10 figures for 10x loose prices) most of us here (not speaking for the rest of you but I think we can all agree that it pays to buy these 1-2 years after the fact)!qq It makes absolutely no sense to buy any of these at retail prices.
IF YOU READ THIS. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND USE IT TO CATCH UP ON YOUR OTHER COLLECTIONS and buy these ebaystars when it goes on clearance on ringside, ollies or wm.com

I've gotta be honest; I've been able to find every Superstars figure at Walmart and I've seen most of them more than once, except maybe Mr. Perfect and Bam Bam Bigelow (which I actually saw ONLY once and passed on). I'm not saying the distribution has been GOOD but I have seen most of them more than once, many of them sitting for long stretches of time. I haven't seen the two newest series yet (9 & 10)? But I'm assuming they are coming. Maybe? However - your statement sums up EXACTLY how I feel about the Monday Night Wars line, so I totally understand and share your frustration!

There is no doubt that certain parts of the country (AND only high volume (super-walmarts) are getting the majority of these figures. It is Walmart that needs to adjust their distribution of exclusive toy lines more evenly and MOST IMPORTANTLY across all series. In the end this mainy all boils down to a broken inventory system that Walmart has not fixed in 2 years now since it broke. This, in my opinion is why Steve has not been able to address our "questions" in the q&a thread. So again, since Walmart is unwilling to put some money into hiring competent mid-level corporate employees who crunch numbers and can figure out what series are not getting distributed to certain stores, it only makes sense NOT-TO extend what I believe is a 3 year contract for these and give another mass retailer like target a chance to save this line. I do believe the enthusiasm is there (from Mattel sculpters) to continue the series but if as other posters have said, There is no RECOGNITION AT LEAST that collectors are struggling with this and the mnw series than many more will call it quits. What irks me most is that I paid full retail or more only to see most of them sold for 3-5$ later. This is a HUGE reason I won't pay more than 10$ for these anymore.

He hasn't addressed ANY question regarding this line not just about the poor distribution. I think a big reason for the silence is because there is no way he can put a positive spin on this situation- poor distribution is poor distribution.
A couple questions I would like answers to:
1- Why was this line given to Walmart instead of Target? 2- Why does it continue to be exclusive to Walmart- does this exclusivity ever end?
I doubt we will get any answers at Comic Con, it will just be the status quo and the same thing you saw at the Wrestlemania reveals. They will show final images of Series 11 and renders or early prototypes of series 12. It looks like they have slowed things down some what, so I doubt we will see reveals of more than 1 new wave.

Series 10 has just shown up on Walmart.ca- has this wave showed up in the USA yet? I thought series 8 was the current wave in stores, I haven't seen any posts about anyone finding series 9 & 10 in stores?! It looks like Walmart is skipping more waves- they skipped series 3, 4, 6 & 7 and now it looks like we can add series 8 & 9 to the list. I picked up a Bossman, I hope series 8 & 9 show up so I can get Andre & Bulldog. Anyone know how Mattel's ordering process works- are retailers allowed to place orders for older waves or only current ones?! I wonder if Walmart missed the boat on series 8 & 9 and series 10 is now the current wave and the only one Mattel will let them order?! Walmart continues to baffle- there is rhyme or reason to how this company operates?!

1-Target already had the Legends line. 2-Id like to know this too.I know MOTU Origins was WM exclusive for a year and then everyone got it. I was hoping that was going to be the case for this line as well. But so not the case.

So what does that matter?! Are you saying they are only allowed to have 1 exclusive because Walmart currently has 2 exclusive lines (Superstars & Monday Night Wars). This line should have been a Target exclusive for several reasons:
1- Target is the home of legends (elites, Ultimates and accessories) and Superstars is a line devoted to legends which makes it a perfect fit IMO
2- Target has done an excellent job with the Legends line- better distribution (in store & online) and they know how to keep product moving by clearancing out older stock and bringing in new stock
3- Walmart already had a similar line (Masters of the WWE Universe) and it failed due their poor distribution of it
Clearly, Target is better equipped to handle store exclusives as they know what they are doing unlike Walmart who can't keep their shelves stocked. Unfortunately, at the end of the day $$ won out over logic and collectors are stuck with Walmart having the exclusive over 2 popular lines that will end way sooner than they should thanks to WM and their terrible distribution.

The questions have been somewhat answered. They work with their retail partners to figure out what they want and the best fit. Like I’m sure they’re pitching multiple lines and form factors and Walmart chooses what they want or gives feedback and Mattel makes adjustments to meet their needs. My assumption is because they had MOTUWWE and when that line was going away they were offered Superstars. From what I can tell the retailer holds that exclusivity indefinitely until they choose they no longer want to carry it. Thats not to say that Mattel didn’t offer this form factor to Amazon or Target or Ringside or whoever. Steve has said Walmart doesn’t have exclusive rights to the form factor just that line. So theoretically Target could have Legends All Stars or something.

Wasn't there "something" that was going to be done this year to fix the Walmart problem? That came from Mattel. What that something was I'm not aware of, but the problems with Superstars and Monday Night War are just as bad as ever, if not worse. I would find the occasional Ruthless Agression figures on shelves, MNW has been completely absent, and we're already seeing reports of Wave 3 trickling out.

Things are slowing down for wwe figures in general. Not because of repeat figures but i believe due to the shear amount of releases. Keeping up is A pain in the pocketbook. People are burnt out. Steve not responding to superstars questions is a terrible sign. He knows it looks bad but it is worse knowing he does not have a solution for walmarts distribution problem nor an alternative. He could at the very least respond letting us know that mattel is still trying to help us but it looks like they are stuck with walmart. I can only assume that target does not want to add another line to their wwe setup. If both this line and mnw get cancelled than people better start speaking up when the next walmart exclusive lineup is revealed at sdcc. Otherwise you get what you voted for. It is however good to see people waking up to the reality that we get one series for 8 months and then 4 series in 3 with one series dissapearing in the wind (like s6). This is not a winning formula. Pricewise these figures have bombed on the aftermarket with lots of collectors getting out and losing their shirt. It has been shocking to see that in lots these carded figures cant even keep 50% of their their retail value.

Anything Walmart related is hard to get, the superstars line is the WORST by far followed by the Monday night wars elites. Honestly has anyone seen Kane the British bull dog or Muhammad Ali in stores yet? I have yet to see doink Andre or Hogan in 3 of the Walmart's around me? Seems like Walmart only picks up certain series too. I really like this line but it's highly disappointing not to see them on shelves in my area. It makes me mad to see Steve say this line is super popular yet the figure are hard to find. I shipped out a typhoon to a guy on the west coast cause he just couldn't find it. If they are Walmart exclusives how are the "other guys" getting them so early. I've heard Masters of the wwe universe figureS were hard to find, if not available at Walmart either. Hopefully something changes soon!
