$100 for those four bendies? That makes it easier for me to pass. Everything about them is great but at that price point, it’s just asking too much (even if the profit margin is slim already). Best of luck as this line seems really cool. I think a lot will feel the same and I think it’s a shorter run but it was a brave decision to go the bendies route

It was also the only untapped market lol. Super7/Mattel/Jazwares/Storm have the 7 inch market, Remco style was already being done by them, Chella/Mattel/ZST are doing Retros…so what was left? Bone Crunchers and TTL? Cardona already made mention of the cost for BCA’s being exceptionally high to produce.

I think the only line that is untouched is Remco Mini Mashers/M.U.S.C.L.E. ; I think AEW and Jazwares should go this route for doing mini figures with their enormous roster but someone should get on that with all these guys signed

I have no dog in this fight as I ended up deciding not to collect any of these types of "retro" lines (though Chella may get me with the BCAs, and I'll probably grab some single figures I like here and there) but $25 for a faux-Bendem doesn't really seem all that different than $25-$30 for a faux-Hasbro to me. 🤷♀️ (I'm not saying that judgmentally towards any company)

Hasbro style figures can reuse bodies, arms etc whereas for each bendy a whole new tool is made

More importantly, material costs will be cheaper as well.

Tooling is bar far the biggest single expense - articulation is very simple really, mostly ball joints, simple click on and off pegs etc nothing too laborious.

All of which *gasp* require additional, more detailed tooling. Bendies could be done via a simplified molding process but I doubt that is what they chose to do.

But the tooling can be reused, you can do 4 different arms and legs including joints in one tool and reuse that hundreds of thousands of times not once

I'm already paying £25 a Retro Chella figure, so what would be the difference if 4 came out at the same time? That's £100 right there. £25 each Bend'em is totally reasonable and in my opinion, the right price point. I know others will disagree and that's fine, but to me I think it's spot on in fairness.

Might have considered getting Adam bomb and JJ but if you can’t buy individuals I don’t know that I’d want to go down that road.

Series 1 is great if you are a fan of the pod like myself. Series 2 is where they might find it harder to sell them all as a set.
On a side note, id prefer in future if they didnt put stuff on sale like this around xmas time. Its an expensive enough time of the year without even more money being spent!

But the counter to that us a lot of people also get things given / bought for them Had I not been saving for the superstars line I’d be in on this

Just out of curiosity, I checked eBay sold listings for WWF Bend-ems to see how the Major Pod special may have driven sales.
Literally less than 2 pages Since December 25..
