Thinking back, I think Christmas 2001 is my all-time favorite. Got a PS2 and Smackdown III, just a fun time. Most of my family was alive, young, and happy, and we celebrated at my grandparents’ who had a lot of land then. Pre-social media, a simpler time for the Internet, and folks weren’t on their phones constantly (I'm certainly guilty of being a phonehead these days myself). Christmases now are definitely still fun, but as relatives get older, pass, enter into more depressed or anxious states of mind, the holidays of the present era are never quite as great as they were during the aforementioned period. Plus, being a kid is just amazing. Which Christmas of the past stands atop the mountain as your all-time favorite?

I think each Christmas has something standout from it for me, so I cannot say there was a best per say, but I most remember the year our huge tree was on a spinning stand and started slinging ornaments all over the room....we were like michael irving trying to catch all those things. Funny memory. Plus every year circling and dog earing pages in the fat toys r us and sears catalogs. Good times.

I don’t remember how old I was but as a kid I wanted a monster truck RC car. When Christmas came that year I saw this big box & just knew what it was. When I got to open it was an RC car only it was a Hotrod body type RC. I faked the happiness & played with it for a few hours & it sucked. It was slow, battery pack lasted 1-2 hrs, it couldn’t turn well. My dad knew I didn’t really like it.
Went to Toys R Us days later, no Monster truck RC but I got a Tyco Rebound RC. That RC car would haul a$$ & it could take a beating. it lasted me years. By far the best RC car made. Great design/function. You’d never have to worry about it flipping over or rolling on its side & having to pick it up. It was a double sided RC car. I can’t remember what else I got but not getting the Monster truck RC was actually a good thing.

Christmas 97. I received a Sega, the full set of Kiss figures, BCA HBK/Bret/Vader/Mankind and the big ass BCA ring. Was the start of my reintroduction to pro wrestling.

I have had a few really good Christmases but there was one that stood out in my mind as the absolute worst. And it was my fault.
Having no family of my own (no children or spouse) Christmas is entirely between me and my parents. And, with them being much wealthier than I am, I like to drop hints about certain things I'd love to have that I could never afford to buy myself.
Well, I think it was two years ago now, before Christmas of 2019, when I might have gotten a little carried away with the hint dropping. I started getting pushy about it and really mean and, in what I'm certain was an attempt to teach me a lesson about greed, my parents bought me an entire tree full of presents - all stuff I would never want to own.
I was so heartbroken. But the message was received and, in 2020, I didn't say anything. I just told them I'd be happy with whatever they got me.
In return, they bought me about a thousand plus dollars worth of stuff that I had been looking at over the past year. And that was on top of the entire new computer setup they bought for me in June for my birthday. (After all of my old electronics got fried in a storm due to a faulty surge protector.)
The moral of this story is, it pays not to be greedy.

2003 because I got Smackdown Here Comes the Pain for PS2. I got 2 copies from different family members. Which worked out well as the first copy broke not long after I got it.

Christmas 2005, my dad got me the Classic Superstars - 3 Faces of the Undertaker set and also the Undertaker 3 disc DVD. If that had been the only presents I'd got that year it would have still been the best Christmas but I got a brand new bike too!

I think it was Christmas 1990, when I got a Hogan wrestling buddy.

My parents always made Christmas really nice for us. I'd be remiss to put one over the other...even in the worst of times, they made it work.
A recent standout that will always be with me is Christmas of 2015. My wife and I were in the midst of selling our condo and buying a house. I think at that point we had all our commitments in line and just had to get to closing day, but by the end of the year, I was just spent. We'd had a lot of discussions about the finances involved, and had mutually decided that we'd certainly have enough cash left over once the sale and purchase were done for me to finally splurge and buy a PS4, which I'd been putting off for financial reasons for two years at that point.
At the time, we did Christmas morning with my parents, so we packed up the baby (at the time, geez he's about to be 7) and made our way over. Got through a few small presents around the group, and then my mom hands me a beast of a gift. Sure as sh*t, it's a PS4 bundle. Y'all, I broke. I was just so mentally and emotionally spent at the end of it all, had this (relatively) small thing to look forward to in a month or so once we were all settled in the new place, and they just went and sprung it on me like that. Followed up with copies of WWE2K16 and Fallout 4 from my brother and wife, and I was just set, man. It wasn't even so much the gift itself - I'd be able to afford it soon enough. It was the gesture. Ultimate "thought that counts". I'm getting flustered just reminiscing on it.
That one's gonna stay with me forever, man. I'm still on that PS4, and every once in a while, if it's acting up and I'm getting a bit frustrated, I gotta kinda sit back and remind myself of the circumstances that brought it to me.

Probably 2005. That was (I think) the last one where it was just me, my Mum and my Brothers. After that, my Brothers started bringing their girlfriends every year, and then they stopped coming altogether after 2012. It was also the last Christmas that my Nan and Grandad had all of us (Me, Mum, Brothers, Uncle and Cousins) round for Boxing Day lunch.
Christmas these days is just me, Mum and Nan. It's just not the same without my Brothers. (They're not dead or anything, they just have their own lives now.)

At this point, yeah, any Christmas where we actually did something would be a contender.

when I was 10 my mom had surprised us with a Christmas that was spectacular. the living room was so crowded we had to use the back door to get in. I remember on that Christmas day we were exhausted by just opening the gifts. Half of our gifts weren't even opened that day. my arms still hurt from that day

Wasn't my favorite Christmas but one i remember fondly on for a laugh was Christmas in 2002, it was some time after my parents had split up and i lived with my dad. We had just moved out of our old house in the summer so this was the first Christmas in the new smaller house, must of been Christmas Eve night where my dad was out drinking with some of his buddies and he came home late that night with a friend of his. A man i never met before but he seemed like a cool dude, we were all joking around having a good time for like an hour in the living room before i headed off to my room to go sleep and left them to continue drinking downstairs. My dads friend must of passed out on the couch not long after, so my dad locked the front and back door and went upstairs to sleep aswell..
The next morning i can remember waking up hearing someone screaming at the bottom of our stairs, it was my dads friend who was desperately trying to open the front door, kicking and slamming it in a panic and probably had no clue where he was or who's house he was currently in. My dad rushed downstairs and calmed the poor man out, opened the door for him and i never did see that dude again..
I think at one point when the guy realised he had no way out, i think he may of been crying, that's when it got real sad for a moment..
Never catched his name as i was still in high school and didn't really talk to most of my dads drinking buddies at that time..

Christmas 2007 The first year I was a Wrestling fan, so it was my first 'Wrestling Christmas'. I was so excited the night before, thinking of what i might get, and then the morning when it was finally time to open all the presents did not disappoint. I still have these 2 pictures taken that day, and this is basically everything I got. - I had Sabu well before this day, so I'm not sure how he ended up in the pic. - Not pictured is a Randy Orton that came with Batista & the ring. - Later that day at my Uncle's house, I got the No Way Out 07 Series Kane, which was my first Kane figure. That, along with Jeff Hardy were my 2 favourite presents that day. I still have the Kane figure in great condition too. Definitely my all time favourite Christmas. I'll never forget the feeling that day. 2008 was great too. Can't remember exactly everything I got, but i do remember getting the Real Scale Elimination Chamber, which was my first real scale ring.

Oh man, I remember getting that RAW ring for my birthday in 2005 or (possibly) 2006. I played with it all the time, and I'm pretty sure I still have some parts from it in a box somewhere. Good times.
