I’m more tired with the lack of new names. 4 new legends names. The biggest name being RVD. They’ve already done all of the big names that are/were available. Here is a list of WrestleMania main eventers, SummerSlam main eventers, and World champions since 1985 that don’t have a Mattel WWE figure: Lawrence Taylor Chris Benoit Zeus General Adnan Fake Undertaker Jeff Jarrett David Arquette Vince Russo Scott Steiner Ron Garvin Tatsumi Fujinami Nice list. If we were to look at Survivor Series main events, we could add: Hercules (1988) Ken Patera (1987) Butch Reed (1987) Haku (1988)

I'm never too bothered by it as long as the figure looks good at a glance. But that things like the Hollywood Hogan stubble on the new ultimate hulkster tilts my head a little. IF they ever do another Matt Bloom figure, I'd love for them to take another whack at the Elite Tensai Torso, just a wider chest would make it perfect, like his basic.

Uh, questioning the legitimacy of something innocuous with no basis to distrust it basically IS being a conspiracy theorist.
I can't see the point of rigging that vote: There's no substantial savings from choosing one Warrior over the other. A fan vote presupposes the winning pick would get the most purchases. Mania 6 is Warrior's biggest moment and there's an influx of new collectors who got into it from podcasts, collectors who don't have a lot of what fans would consider staple figures. Hell, I voted for Mania 6 Warrior, because I didn't have one!

Me too. I would definitely like RR90 Ronnie Garvin to go with the Greg Valentine we got.

Rigged or not, it shouldn’t have been an option imo since they’ve already released it at least twice.

I haven't read through everything yet but yes alot of what I have read I agree with. I'm starting to question....maybe these Mattel's are really not that good.
• Watch that Ultimate Warrior Royal Rumble 1990 promo. How can you not get excited by that promo just based on how he looks, the facepaint, the hair, the rage in his eyes, the physique if you are a wrestling fan?? If you are a fan of that era, you are excited about it being announced and can't wait to buy it. Then how if you work for Mattel and you are at the front of the line to making this toy can you not be excited by making this toy? Like "this is my job? Really? I get paid to paint The Ultimate Warrior from Royal Rumble 1990"? Did they not pause the promo, study how he looked in it and thought... "ok I can't wait to design this toy, it needs to look perfect, I have a responsibility to our customers who can't wait to buy it, he has a blonde highlight here, a blonde highlight there, his hair puffs out a bit more, he doesn't have a fringe, if this is going to work we need a new head sculpt." Then their final product....straight brown hair, absolutely no energy or emotion in his face, He looks like someone who has been frozen and you need to push an on button to make him function. And then you see the toy at clearance and you think "that is still too high of a price, I'm not buying it for less than £5."

I agree with a lot of the points. I will agree with other users saying Mattel has made the best wrestling figures up to date imo. They’ve gone the extra mile to sculpt unique parts, give us entrance gear etc. Now the issue is when you get to that level, you have to sort of maintain it and that’s where they fail. I get that there are screwups and minor mistakes when producing mass retail items, but man some of the choices are baffling. A lot of us are passionate collectors and point out correct choices for parts. There should be no excuse to get the wrong torso or boots/legs on characters back to back. They should try and correct the parts as well as listen to us as consumers. That’s what makes the product better. I believe some characters might use certain formulas to compensate for heights and that’s why they come out weird. I’m not sure if anyone noticed, but the new flashback Hogan in red and yellow tights has the Sheamus torso. Why on earth are they still using that torso on Hogan when they made a brand new one for the UE? A better option would of been the Kane torso, it has the right amount of mass.

Reused parts don’t bother me as long as they work relatively well. They do bother me when they don’t. As for “drawing the line”, I buy figures I want and think look good, I don’t buy figures that I don’t want or think look good. I don’t put much grander thought into it than that.

Hasbro has it together. Not just with their figures, but also with their distribution and availability, which is something Mattel has yet to figure out 11 years into the line. And I just don't see Hasbro making and repeating the many egregious errors we've seen in the last 11 years... terrible opening lineups for many new series, old men heads on their younger selves (Taker and HBK), inconsistency and inaccuracy with body types and parts, inaccurate gloves and boots, constant misfires on colors, complete inability to get hair color and texture correct, multiple failures to get a proper ring and different playsets out, and the list goes on. I love you. As somebody who started collecting Hasbro lines within the last couple of years, I'm very impressed with the products they put out. Like you said, coordination with retail, design, paint apps, metallic paints, washes, etc. They're setting the bar in many ways, and the constant misfires from Mattel are laughable. How can Funko have perfectly times/coordinated pre-releases on Target's website on a regular basis, but every single time Mattel has something there's a "miscommunication." They've done it 5-6 times within the past couple of weeks alone. Maybe it's fair to say the problem is in fact on Mattel's end... That said, I don't totally buy into "grass is greener on the other side" thinking. WWE is Mattel's premier licensed property after losing DC. If Hasbro was even interested in WWE, they'd probably be 4th or 5th on the priority list for action figures, which means they probably aren't going to get the best designers, budget, retail prominence, etc. But it is interesting that months keep sliding by and we've heard zip about a contract extension. Yes, Bill and Steve are still planning for 2022 and beyond, but that's what any business does until they lose a contract/bid - if you don't and you do get the contract, you're screwed. Not saying Mattel won't get the deal - they're the most logical fit, imo. But this is dragging on far, far longer than any other renewal I can remember. And WHEN the New Gen ring crowdfunding fails, that may be another thing the WWE looks at negatively.

I said at the time that the moment is so iconic, they’d had at least two attempts at getting it right and failed, maybe for an Ultimate, they will focus and nail it abs spend money on making the new head sculpts and hair that we know is missing. Also the ultimate would also be bigger (as in wider, bigger torso) and more accurate in his size…it was only acceptable to have it in there if they finally nailed it but they’ve effectively given us the same god damn figure but with butterfly joints. Inexcusable.

I was not excited about ue warrior getting wm6 again and then I rewatched that promo. I know he has no chest paint at the end and really how he looks. You could have done a full re-imagining of what a wrestlemania 6 ultimate warrior figure looks like. But no. They took the lazy way out and focused on the Goon and little Dominik.
