I NEEDED all the Cats. NEEDED.
This is the 2nd effin time I have been stung. The Bandai 7" ones just released Lion-O & Tygra. Now we get Lion-O, the kits, Pumy Ra & Panthro.
SO frustrating to at least not have got Tygra & Cheetarah.

Is this true? WB wont let Super 7 release Thundercats Classics? Damn, how come Thundercats are so unlucky?? Thundercats was by far the best cartoon to come out of the 80s.

I’ll put this in the Funko thread too, but... Thundercats are back! Not as cool as what we started to get from Matty imo but I’ll take them regardless. Homeboy over at Funko is obsessed with the He-man style molds. I do think it’s nice these will fit alongside the original He-man figures. That was probably his intent since the original TC figures were so much bigger than the He-man figures when we were kids.

Second Thundercats blind box I purchased was Panthro. Probably my 3rd favorite Thundercats character.

It only took four tries to get the three I wanted most. First pick I got #3 Want in Panthro. Second pick I scored my #1 Want in Tygra. Third pick was another Panthro. And finally today pick up #4 got me my #2 most wanted in Lion-o.

As far as Loyal Subjects figs go, here's what I have so far:
Thundercats: Hot Topic Monkian (X2), along with metallic versions of Lion-O (X2), Tygra, and Panthro(X2). Also Target Jackalman.
Masters of the Universe: He-Man, Skeletor, Beast Man (X3), Trap Jaw (X4), Man-At-Arms, Stratos, Evil-Lyn (yellow-skinned), Tri-Klops and Man-E-Faces.

Those are really cool looking, love the old school look. What is the concept behind these? They’re the filmation versions. So they’re the exact same style of figures as the original Mattel releases from 82-88 but they’re painted cartoon accurate. Brian at Super7 is obsessed with the OG MOTU figures. So this is something he’s wanted to do for awhile now. I’m guessing he’s going to put out at least a couple waves a year of these if this set moves well. He’s always talked about doing this kind of thing since getting the license. These should scale pretty perfectly with Funkos Thundercats. That’s my hope anyway.

The Savage World Thundercats are up for preorder on entertainment earth. They are also on Amazon minus Slithe for some reason. Ill wait for them to put up slithe before I preorder. I wish the packaging was more old school. They havent used the original thundercats logo colour scheme and for some reason have used reference pictures on the card from the new cartoon. Strange.
By the way have Super7 taken down the preorders for the vintage figs based on the MOTU cartoon? I thought they would be up until Sept or Oct.

I preordered the Lion-O from Amazon for $16 and change after tax. But I will hold off on the rest until I see how Lion-O is in hand. Then depending on how I feel I will get the rest or just maybe Tygra when he’s released.

They are $13 each on their site, plus the $4 flat shipping. I can honestly say I don't expect to get the other figures even though we've seen protos of them. This is Funko's move. They half do an assortment to see how it sells, it doesn't sell well, and then they never put out more. This is exactly what I was afraid of when they showed them off.

I swear its criminal how the Thundercats have been treated in regards to toys. When Bandai got the license they couldnt even give us the core characters and their terrible idea of making them 7 inches. They totally botched the classics. Then it fell through with Mattel after an excellent start and now you dont seem to confident with Funko. Its a sham.

OMG! Thundercats Classics coming back??? Im super pumped right now, I really hope these get the green light and Mattel continue with this line. Im so glad I never sold other Classics now. Jaga and Grune both look amazing. I wonder how Mattel plan on releasing these without Matty Collector around, I doubt these would end up in stores. Interesting.

I’m extremely cautious about getting my hopes up for more Classics. I’m buying Jaga and Grune but that leaves me in the same place until we actually get Tygra and Cheetara. Tygra is my favorite Cat and we need the complete core 4. So I’m definitely going to pay attention to what else PD finds out but it’s a see it to believe it deal.

I love Funko to death, but they don't know the action figure market. It seems like if something doesn't move a billion units, they pull the plug on it. I thought for sure they would just release the entire Cats series in one shot, but seeing that they split them up makes me sad. We're never going to get the other four. Zorn and Disney Afternoon went to clearance. MK seemed to sell pretty well at first and then quickly tapered off. Now they're releasing these Savage World He-Man/Horror mashups and I doubt those will move either. All I really wanted out of this Savage World series was the four Cats and Conan and Thulsa Doom. Who knows if that's possible.

I still look at them in stores and say to myself, WTF? But each to their own.
