So I’ve decided to start collecting 80s horror Blu-rays because I always need things to spend money on. Made a pretty extensive list that I’ll be crossing off films as I buy them. Today I picked up both The Fog and Maniac, both films I’ve never watched so I’m pretty excited. So figured it would be fun to see everyone’s number one 80s horror film. You get to watch one 80s horror movie for the rest of your life, what you picking?

Feel like this will be a common answer and it’s hard to argue.

Nightmare on Elm Street, Evil Dead 2, and the Thing come to mind.
I defy your "only pick one" rule. I'm an outlaw.

I’ll say The Lost Boys is my favorite though if that one counts

IMO The Thing is the best horror film of the 80's, but Halloween 2 and 4 are the ones I wanna watch more.

John Carpenter's The Thing is probably my favourite. But there are so many brilliant 80s Horror movies to add to that list.
-Aliens -Lost Boys -Nightmare on Elm Street (1 & 3) -Predator -Evil Dead (1 & 2) -The Terminator -Near Dark (A very underrated cult classic vampire film with some of the cast from Aliens) -Prince of Darkness -The Gate -Poltergeist
And that's just a few I can name off the top of my head.

Technically it's from 1979, but Phantasm gave me the creeps.
Part 2 is good, but the rest of the sequels go downhill from there.
Honorable mention: Dark Night of the Scarecrow

Oh man..I forgot about Alien. That one was the best. Aliens was better but not as much horror as action

Honestly I think Halloween 2 is not only my favorite 80s horror but maybe my all time too.
I watched Re-Animator last night for the first time and really enjoyed it.

Nightmare on Elm Street. Anything can happen in your dreams, and you have no way of knowing if it's real or not. That can be genuinely frightening.

I could recommend hundred but if I could only pick one, its Evil Dead 2 which is just a masterclass in filmmaking and creativity.

The kid in Near Dark is Michael's step brother in real life. Near Dark is a good pick, the soundtrack is good as well. Ive a whole bunch from the 80s too hard to narrow down.
