I have never spent a penny subscribing to crap like Netflix, CBS All Access, Facebook Watch, etc and I never will Me neither, I wonder how these people leave the house with all that junk to watch. Id rather spend my time reading or being creative with hobbies and interests rather than have my brain fried sitting watching tv all the time. I personally dont watch cable tv, havnt in about 5 years. However, I have 2 small kids so we have pluto tv (which is free) so they can watch nickelodeon shows. my wife has hulu because she likes random shows on there. pluto tv is great, i watch classic game shows on there lol

Yes they have way too many streaming services, but I sure enjoy them. I pay for Netflix and get: HBO Max, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, Discovery+ for free.

Over here in NZ we have Netflix, Shudder, Neon (basically HBO), Apple TV, Disney Plus, and Amazon Prime. Compared to what else is available, it doesn’t actually sound like much. I subscribed to many of them with the intentions of catching up on a few TV series that everyone raves on about, yet I never use them. I haven’t watched Netflix in months. I subscribed to Shudder because Netflix’ horror selection is awful but have only watched three movies max. I got Apple TV fee when I bought an iPhone 11, never watched it though. I spend more time looking through them for something to watch but then decide not to watch anything and just go to bed instead.

I like it. Hopefully it helps end the crazy prices for cable.

An interesting plot twist here is developing....music has several streaming services, and some music is being restricted to specific services ala Jay-z and Tidal, or the new K-Pop debacle that removed a ton of artists from Spotify to be launched on a new platform in Asia.
This is a nice reminder to buy physical media in your preferred form and keep it old school; in that you can always trust it will be there, and you can buy from where you like and not be locked in to a commitment.

VPV That's a main reason when it comes to movies, music and games, I prefer physical media. Plus having that actual disc in your hand actually makes it feel like you bought something.

The best thing to do is probably just use a rotational system, since you won't be able to watch everything anyway.

i share accounts with family but i personally really don't use streaming apps or watch much tv. maybe 2-3 documentaries a year will catch my interest..
if i wanna watch a movie, chances are it's not on any of those services, so i just buy it from youtube

remember when streaming was going to be cheaper than cable? AHAHAHAHAHAHA technically it still is. I dropped netflix so now all I have is Hulu/Disney & Peacock. I pay less for them then I would Spectrum cable. The best part about streaming is you can pick & choose what you pay for whereas cable you cant.

This is what I do, yeah (although I don't live with anybody, which means I get to curate things more). My evergreens are Hulu, mostly for stuff like Bob's Burgers, The Great North, and What We Do in the Shadows; and Stardom World, because it's my favorite current wrestling promotion. I borrow a friend's Netflix when Cobra Kai seasons premiere, although if I have to sub for a month for those in the future I will. Around the fall I subscribe to Shudder for a couple months. Whenever I finally get through all my Criterion blind buys I keep telling myself I'll try out their streaming, but I have so, so many Blu-Rays.

I’m doing a lot that I’ll probably scale back on in the future. I’m using Hulu for Bobs Burgers as well, have yet to miss an episode.

I've started doing the same thing, ill go months without really watching anything on one of the platforms so I've decided just to keep the ones I really want or get a great deal on for a entire year(AMC+). Right now I pay for D+,Netflix,HBO Max,Amazon(mostly for Prime) and AMC+.

I currently have
Netflix Disney + WWE Network Amazon Prime.
I will let go of Netflix for a few months when I finish out Ozark. then when I get Netflix back I will ditch Prime for a few months. Disny & WWE network are my constants

I forgot I got Peacock too but that's free with my Comcast plan but from the ones I pay D+ and Amazon(for Prime) are the ones ill probably keep as long as all the Marvel shows continuing being this good.

Its gonna be over saturated. Even if people wanted all the platforms it will add to as much as paying for cable.

Nope. Each has something to offer. Makes life easier when looking for something new to watch.

There definitely is a lot, particularly in regards to wrestling content. Needing a different service for every promotion makes me very sad.

Far too many. And they keep raising prices. We keep Netflix, the disney bundle and Amazon (for the shipping). But we cycle out others for a month or 2 and cancel. They really aren't worth it.

They certainly are not, but, as a friend of mine pointed out, I am paying for the convenience at this stage.
