Has anyone seen the eBay asking prices for sets of the AEW figures? They average about $1k for a set. This line is a scalpers dream It's insane, especially when we know they're reprinting the first two series.

But the prices are insane.

Jeremy must be in heaven. All he wants to cater to is the secondary market. Which is just stupid because Jazwares and Jeremy get nothing from the secondary market sales It's not stupid, at all. The Wii sold 100 million consoles, largely due to FOMO. It is possibly the most purchased, yet unused, entertainment item in history. Like it or not, this is a strategy that works. It may not work for this line, but data shows it could.

We can debate until the cows come home about what Jazwares could/should have done differently at launch. But yeah, let's not act like artificial scarcity and playing into FOMO aren't proven marketing tools that generate billions of dollars for companies across a range of industries. Doesn't mean we have to like it. But it's not like this is some new or radical concept. And Jeremy has said repeatedly that they're revisiting the print runs on the chase figures, reprinting the limited series, and should have significant increases in availability in 2021. These prices are going to crash and crash hard.

Intentionally building a secondary market is extremely risky. There's a chance it creates fomo. There's also a chance it creates apathy.
2021 is a do or die year for this line. Distribution has to be on point.

Jeremy must be in heaven. All he wants to cater to is the secondary market. Which is just stupid because Jazwares and Jeremy get nothing from the secondary market sales Which is why Jeremy has regularly made extremely limited runs of figures just so he can get people to buy in to the limited availability of figures so they spend thousands for them. All you have to do is watch him on Instagram and how much money he blows on Pokémon cards to see this is valid. He caters to a scalpers market.

The fact Jazwares makes no money from it is why it’s stupid of them and Jeremy to cater to the secondary market. That’s the point a few of us have tried to point out. They need to focus on retail sales where they actually get their money from. all it does is create a situation where basically only scalpers can obtain the product, which causes actual fans to give up on the line, scalpers end up being unable to sell for their ridiculous amounts and eventually stop buying the product too. End result is the line flops as no one wants to buy it anymore

If they actually make it to retail with more than 6 figures a store maybe they can make something happen 😂

Market. Purchases. Yes, they do, just not directly. It's a "loss leader," in a sense, although not explicitly or by definition. I also don't think they intended for these hiccups to happen, so series 2 secondary prices were not an expected outcome. We were informed of series 1 and 2 being limited, but not of series 2 being so limited. It was an accident, and one that will likely be fixed.

Jeremy likes to talk alot but brings no jam to the situation; he's more interested in those ing Pokemon cards these days! Honestly, this line has totally started at a snail's pace and going a route of pointlessness with Cardona holding the leash screaming about how great they are.

I keep hearing that and seeing no fixes The new factory having a greater capacity is a potential fix in theory And the "results" aren't going to be immediate. It's not like factories are just sitting idle when they aren't making wrestling figures - production schedules are booked out well in advance, hence the gap before reprinting S1 and S2.

Really I dont care when these finally come out as I will get them either way but there are no excuses for how poor this launch has been. Pumped the hell out of these only for them not to be released on time, then only to select stores, then never restocking, and finally the mystery of the chase figures. They are showing series 4 figures and they can't even get series 2 produced to sell them. Way ahead of themselves here. Granted the Sammy is awesome looking but they are doing themselves no favors showing future product when you can't even buy what should be current product.
