Someone's selling the 4 L7 figs on ebay for $400, with $200 shipping and it legit has a bid. I wish Mattel cared about international collectors. Nobody is actually going to pay that much for them. They can be had for much cheaper on eBay.

As far as Target exclusive go, when talking about wrestling elites, I'm happy with a case of 5. Wish this was a permanent change considering Target exclusives usually sit forever. However, I think this is a one off because of the issue with Sting.
Street dates don't bother me as long as the figures aren't put out earlier. What good is a street date if all Target's don't follow the guidelines.

Target needs to make up its mind about figures as a whole in its stores.
Actually stock on a consistent basis or stop selling them altogether.
One target closest to me has not put out legends or the new marvel strong man set.
I call another one 30 min away and both are on the shelf. Which I was able to buy.
Its literally a coin flip if your target store gives a crap about stocking toys.
I am not buying the let's blame all the retail woes and the pandemic.
Target still sucked just as much stocking elites and legends exclusive or not before covid-19.

In 28 years, I've never seen this happen collecting wrestling figures. I've never seen the buildup to a designated release, with the demand built from a preorder that was three months prior. I've also never seen a retailer handle wrestling figures this way. Are we collecting Funko Pops or NECA figures now? To have a street date, to being held at the electronics desk, to one per customer, to the fact that each store only received FIVE pieces, this is unprecedented as far as I see it. Your thoughts? I have had my local Target try keeping the figures at the electronics desk & only allow me to buy one. I reported it to target and asked why they were doing this and was told they weren’t allowed to do that and they would talk to them about it. Why they only got one case is a big question and then they didn’t put them out on the floor. They need to make sure that they get enough to meet the demand.

If you remember, they put out a presser last year proclaiming their establishment as for the collectors... They got a dose of the Funko people for like a week and stopped saying that REAL fast haha

I look forward to the fall when Series 7 is still on the shelves and people are bitching because their Target can't get Series 8.

So I'm prolly in the minority. Target only restocks when they fall below a certain number. Not sure, but I believe it's 2 or less (someone correct me if wrong). In theory there should be a better chance of getting what we want over time. As of now, it appears sketchy because its Target. A part of the reasons why Hall of Fame, Hall of Champions, and NXT lines died ou (same goes for failed walmart exclusives) is because of shelf warming figures. Have some faith in Mattel and see how it plays out. A part of the reason people are upset is because they want them now and immediately. Good luck and I hope every finds what they are looking for.

Is this common practice at Targets? If so how are you supposed to even know they are there? I use to work for Target. They only do that with collectibles that that feel scalpers will horde. There lies the problem, you won’t know they are there and neither will they. Your bets bet is to ask when they first open because that’s when the full time staff comes in, and hope you don’t catch the electronics department on the full timers day off. A lot of time they keep the stuff in a cage in the back, but if you don’t get an employee that works daily, they’ll have no idea what or where the figures are. TIP: if you want your target to restock it’s pegs, hide the toys on the peg currently under the shelving fixture. lol I’m serious, they’ll have to restock. It only works if they have what you’re looking for in the back though, otherwise they’ll order more but fill it with something else in the meantime.

I spent the day going to 7 Targets from Tampa to Orlando and came out with 1 Legends figure total. 5 of the 7 stores had them in stock but weren't putting them out yet because they were doing a "transition" in the toy dept and they all said they will be on the shelves sometime this week. The only other time I had such an issue with figures was Elite 69 when they wouldn't ring up properly and we weren't allowed to buy them. As for the demand, these have always been a huge favorite for collectors, so I am not surprised in the least. Plus, they look fantastic and are a great choice of legends, so far. And Greg The Hammer Valentine.. enough said.

Probably a fake bid or something because no one is going to pay $600 for a set of 4 figures when they could get all of them on ebay for half that price. I know that some people will go to that extreme, but anyone willing to pay that is smart enough to look at the other ones for sale.

/\ /\ /\ That won’t work.(hiding product) It’ll actually work against you. Their inventory is automated and automatically reorders when the system gets down to 3 pieces or less. Hiding the product will only keep the system from ordering more. I have a few friends who work at various Targets and there’s been a few times where they did a manual override when I asked them to because their system showed items were still in stock and they couldn’t actually find it in the backroom location. But I have also seen many employees tell other customers they couldn’t override the inventory count to get more.

That statement stems from the idea that when they set up the isle with the new layout, they are supposed to send pictures to the district managers showing that the isle has been turned around with the correct set up. The problem is, it’s never correct anyway because A) the new product is bought before they even finish the aisle and B) most times they don’t have the product for the new display in the first place because it either hasn’t arrived yet, or they have already sold through it. They’re just being lazy, they know damn well they can sell you those with no difference made

But I have also seen many employees tell other customers they couldn’t override the inventory count to get more. That’s true, HOWEVER, at least once a week they are required to adjust inventory manually. What that means is they have to check if they actually have 3 in stock and if they can’t find them, they have to adjust the inventory total. Any employee can adjust it, they just either don’t want to, or are told not to by a manager. Regardless, once a week an authorized employee HAS to make the adjustment so if you find a certain employee who won’t or can’t, ask another or just wait because it’s only a matter of time before a full timer adjusts it themself The auto inventory is so off all the time there anyway it’s not even funny. Reason is they have self checkout, if a customer goes up to the checkout with multiple items the same price, they’ll scan one item three times instead of each individually throwing the inventory off. That’s why they have to do it manually once a week haha

I find it hard to believe in this market, with so many people buying toys at $20 a piece, nobody sees money in opening up a Toys R Us. It’s clear as day we need a toy specialist. The Wal marts and Targets just don’t have the staff to even care about toys. I have done retail, believe me, they have no clue what goes where, what’s new so on and so on. We need stores that specialize in toys and employees that specialize in toys. If it makes you feel any better the TRUs in Canada only carry 20+ Shield Angles each and rarely get anything new in more than a single case at a time. I can vouch for this. Toysrus here had elite 60 something then skipped to elite 72(not many) and is now getting in elite 75 one case at a time. The staff that works there have little to no knowledge about what they sell. It's not really their fault though. The company itself if they cared would be responsible for that sort of thing.

That's despicable, disgusting, and pathetic. Happening everywhere now. Scalpers in Canada are clearing out entire shelves at stores to put them on Facebook for 2-3x the price or in raffles. I've never had this problem with any other action figure line, especially with Jakks. Mattel's quality was enough for me to deal with it, but now for the first time in 25+ years of collecting I'm mulling over putting a stop to it. The scarcity, scalping, cost and attitudes surrounding the hobby are all incredibly toxic and sucking all the fun out of it. I'm at my wit's end. Matt Cardona mentioned that a lot of the WWF Jakks Bone Cruncher line, even the original figures, are easy to find because they were made in very vast quantities. Mattel seems overly cautious here. Granted, there could be production or oil/plastic issues these days. But yeah, this is crazy.
