Honestly, other than Taz and possibly Raven, I have no desire to see a legends line. I personally don't think this line will make it to 10 series if I'm being honest. That's woefully ignorant. Wrestling figures are on absolute fire right now. Wave one is on triple backorder on RSC, the secondary market is one fire, and they are moving fast at retail. The company itself is a top weekly show in the 18-49 male demographic, it's not going anywhere. The significantly dated Elite series needs to step it up, if anything. That parts catalog is so 2010 imo.

WCW was still pulling some of the best ratings on TV when it got cancelled. So that doesn't mean crap.

The gap between Jakks DA tech and Mattel Elites was much bigger than the gap between Mattel Elite tech and Jaws AEW. The fact that Mick Foley was physically larger than any other figure they produced in the TNA lines tells you everything you need to know as to why the line failed. Mattel gave us in-scale figures while Jakks was re-treading the same old parts. And this isn’t even getting into the distribution issues with the line.

The way people consume media has changed by light years since even the early 2010's. The ratings information available today indicates that they're doing very well, and reports are that viewership on non-Nielsen platforms are very strong. If you want to make an argument for why this line won't succeed, be my guest. But you're comparing apples and oranges.

Toybiz (Marvel Toys by this point) facing financial troubles and loosing the Marvel Legends master license to Hasbro is what ended the company (and thus the Toybiz TNA line).

I know he was working for NWA recently but I think this might be our best chance at a pre-Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner if he ever makes an appearance in AEW. That figure would sell like crazy. I think Scott Steiner doesn't want a figure made of him.

I never knew he didn’t want a figure period (which is strange considering he was fine with em in TNA).

I always thought he didn’t want anything to do with the WWE? I never knew he didn’t want a figure period (which is strange considering he was fine with em in TNA). I think what he meant is that he wouldn't buy his own action figure Scott's been pretty clear on his feelings on WWE Legends deals and the payout, but that's been very specific to WWE. I haven't read anything that would make me think that he wouldn't be fine signing a figure contract if it wasn't as restrictive and had a better payout than what WWE offers. The problem has been that Legends deals require basically totally signing away rights for a pretty small cut of the profits.

I really hope that WWE changes there legends program, if Jazware starts a legends line. Bret Hart and Mick Foley said that they won't sign legends deals, since both are not happy with the conditions. Jake Roberts and DDP are still under legends deals. It seems that WWE want to prevent AEW from releasing merchandise of them. Since it looks like WWE don't want to lose legends to AEW, it could be possible that they will change their deals or hopefully the will allow Mattel to sign direct deals again. I'm just hoping that many legends figs will be released in the future, either from Jazware or Mattel. My biggest wants that could get AEW figs, since it's unlikely that WWE signs them or they are already signed: Owen Hart Steiner Brothers Marc Mero/Johnny B Badd Savio Vega/Kwang The Natural Dustin Rhodes Smoking Gunns (if they can sign Bart) Ahmed Johnson Perry Saturn Buff Bagwell Raven Sabu and many more

Even though I wasn't a huge fan of Konnan back in the day. I think Jazwares should try to get him in the line. He deserves a solid figure likeness.

Wishlist Legend lineups:
AEW LEGENDS SERIES 1 2020 Jim Ross 2020 Tony Schiavone 2020 Coach Arn Anderson 2020 Manager Tully Blanchard 80’s Vintage Arn Anderson 80’s Vintage Tully Blanchard CHASE: 80’s Vintage Tony Schiavone
AEW LEGENDS SERIES 2 2020 Manager Jake Roberts 2020 Manager Taz 2019 Ricky Morton 2019 Robert Gibson 80’s Vintage Ricky Morton 80’s Vintage Robert Gibson CHASE: 90’s Vintage Taz
AEW LEGENDS SERIES 3 80’s Vintage Dusty Rhodes 2020 DDPY Diamond Dallas Page 1991 Vintage “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes 1997 Vintage Dean Malenko 2020 Vickie Guerrero 2020 Madusa CHASE: 2020 Tony Khan
By the time I was done typing this up, I realized the order of the figs in these lineups could easily be mixed up. Series 3 is a little stacked. Still, there’s plenty of potential for AEW to do this, if the line continues to do well. There are some WWE Legends deals that would need to expire to do Dusty Rhodes, Jake Roberts, DDP & maybe Madusa, but the rest seem doable.
Fun to think about.

Not sure how long his legends deal runs with the WWE but with Vicky in AEW and on bad terms with the WWE, maybe there’s a chance we see a future Eddie figure in this line, as crazy as that sounds. Obviously it would have to be pre-ECW/WCW/WWE, but there’s plenty of great outfits he wore in Mexico and Japan that could be made.
I know it’s still close to a 0% chance of ever happening, but if we were to ever get a figure of Owen, this line would be it.

Konnan has a figure coming out in Series 2 of the Boss Fight line. It's his early 90s look from Mexico, so not the WCW era that most people want. But they've said they have multiple years mapped out and will get to higher demand looks. I don't think those deals are exclusive, so a Jazwares figure could be possible. But either way there should be Konnan figures soon.

Sad to hear that the WWE basically owns Eddie’s legacy now with little to no input from his family (as far as we know).

Now Ringside can't keep the figures in stock AND they're available in Walmart stores, but some say the toys (and the entire company) are doomed to fail.
