Exactly they're in their 11th year, stuff like this should not be an issue. And I meant AEW is winning NYTF as of right now as I stated in previous posted I did. Your taking it too personal. I love Mattels elite but it's like WAKE UP GUYS THERES COMPETITION NOW. cant be lazy with basic things like knee pads and type of boots Bro, these are toys for kids. No, Ricochet's boots are not going to cost Mattel a sale and cause consumers to flood their business to AEW. I was like you for a long time. I'd get pissed off over every part of every figure that I didn't like. But at the end of the day, these are toys for kids, and adults buying toys is the vocal minority and not Mattel's target audience. I'm a 35 year old man that CHOOSES to buy toys. Kids don't care about the boots. Also, Let me let you in on a little secret. AEW's line is not "competition" for the WWE Mattel line BECAUSE THEY DON'T MAKE THE SAME CHARACTERS. You can point out all the inaccuracies with Mattel's Ricochet figure, but guess what? If anybody wants a Ricochet, they have to buy Mattel's because AEW can't make one. If somebody wants a Chris Jericho, they have to buy an AEW figure because Mattel can't make one. It's the exact OPPOSITE of competition. AEW's figures and WWE's figures are comparing apples and oranges because the rosters are different. And no; no person is going to be like "let me give up on WWE and watch AEW instead of WWE because AEW's figures have more accurate boots". People who watch WWE are still going to watch WWE and buy WWE figures, and the people who watch AEW are going to continue to watch BOTH AEW and WWE and buy AEW and WWE figures but bitch about how everything AEW does is the second coming of Jesus Christ and everything WWE does is sh*t. It is what it is. Lol I never said it was the second coming, I've been a fan of wwe since i was born, I am also a fan of aew and those guys as well. Its nice to flip channels when one gets really boring. As for the figures its absolutely COMPETITION bc its geared towards the same market. Yes are is a new born baby, but for collectors stand points and whatever look better right now. Purely esthetic, they look great better than most of what Mattel brought to the table. That's not saying I'm never buying wwe figures again. Who knows these figures might suck from aew that's why im only buying the omega figure and test it out. Not to mention are figure price point is much lower than ultimate elites and most regular elites so, if ur in the store (as a parent) your going to sway towards the cheaper toy unless ur kid is a brat and flips out in the store then but the little crapwhatever to shut them up. But come on man your getting angry for because your not seeing the bigger picture, its NOT just about ricochets boots and kneepads, I mean it's only his 3rd elite I'm sure they'll get it right soon. But it's about the quality of figure, collecting wise you want the best looking figures u can get. Whether u keep it in the box, action pose it whatever little details matter or atleast to me. Its business aew is going after the same market mattel is in that's direct competition both aew and wwe are competing for our money. Regardless how long one has been around COMPETITION is COMPETITION. You are totally fine just buying wwe figures, or aew figure or how about this enjoying all the figures that are going to be in stores now so you dont have to stare at the same shelf warmers for months. I am excited for another company's figures to get involved. If AEW is smart they would make their figures about the same size so it pulls in both crowds. So I agree with your point No matter how good anything is someone will find something wrong. On tv or merchandise. I'm not getting angry on this I'm just discussing. It cant be a second coming of wwe if wwe never went out of business in the first place so whoever is saying that is just wrong. Your not like me, you dont know me or my view as a fan or a collector or as an actual professional wrestler. My mind set sees things differently. I want Mattel to not let little things slip through because since they came into business with wwe my collection of Mattel elites are double of what anything jakks wwe I've ever bought. All I'm saying is for them to tighten up a little

Also quality control. the triple h and Chyna 2 pack looks great... but what the silly F%$# is the spinner and the new generation belt doing in that set?!? That particular triple h never held the world title. It should have an I.C. or EUROPEAN or Tag belt at the very most. CAN I GET THE QUALITY CONTROL JOB FOR WWE MATTEL ILL TURN THHESE MISTAKES AROUND. Because Chyna used to hold the winged eagle and European title during DX promos in the 97-98 era, so those are likely the belts the set is coming with and the Euro title likely isn’t ready or they didn’t have one in hand so threw a spinner in there since it’s a trade show.

Defending the choice for UE Nakamura. 1. His DM was probably the only DM since they relaunched the series that didn’t sit on the shelves warming for months. 2. He was a huge star in NXT. 3. He just won the Royal Rumble and was going on to WM to challenge for the WWE title. 4. These lineups are planned out over a year in advance. Bill, Steve, etc couldn’t have predicted how he would’ve been used post WrestleMania. 1. That DM was his first figure 2. He was a huge star in nxt which is why his first figure sold out everywhere. 3. Bill has a hard on for nakamura and that’s just a fact 4. Bill plans the lineups and even with that ultimate nakamura he still makes 4 more nakamura in the elite line.

Any BS questioning the commitment or work ethic of the team on this line is completely out of order. Collectors are incredibly fortunate to have some huge wrestling fans and talented designers working on the WWE and AEW lines.
They've got their backs up against a wall. WWE as a brand is probably at its lowest popularity since the mid 90's. They're dealing with retail partners that have them by the gonads, and most likely shrinking orders, making it tougher to hit their price point. So you cut corners or raise prices, which Mattel has said repeatedly that their retailers do not want. And I don't think WWE is the easiest corporate partner to work with. There have been plenty of stories (non-figure) stories over the years that make it pretty clear that the chaos and corporate culture that have impacted the tv product in recent years is just as prevalent on the business side.
There are still plenty of fair criticisms. But there's also reality. You don't want to imagine what this line would look like if there weren't passionate collectors and fans working behind the scenes.

Chyna / H look awesome. But I've gotta ask, why use 1999/2000 H's picture on the box when the figure looks like 1997? Very nitpicky, I know.

Competition is standing in the isle and deciding if I'm going to buy Lays potato Chips or Utz potato chips. There can only be true competition if multiple companies are offering the same product, thus forcing a consumer to choose where to allocate their dollars. I don't think AEW figures and WWE figures will have any impact on one another's sales. You buy from whatever line has the characters you want, and there is ZERO character cross over, so you don't have to choose. It really could be a win/win situation. That's the way people should be looking at this.

Just pointing out, NXT is a level of WWE. This board’s obsession with UE Nakamura is so damn strange. When he was pencilled into the line, he was super over, had just won the Royal Rumble, and was in a marque match with AJ at Wrestlemania. Plus he has a unique look and quirky movements that fit the extra articulation. Truthfully, it makes sense for him to have been on the short-list for current character inclusion in the UE line, Bill or no Bill. It’s not Mattel’s fault WWE started booking him terribly, likely because - 30 years on - a certain quasi-senile billionaire thinks that someone who’s foreign and doesn’t speak English can’t be over as a top-tier babyface. That, and the fact that Nakamura has absolutely mailed it in to an obscene level. I just miss all of the NJPW fanboys telling us how Nakamura was going to come to WWE and embarrass everyone out of the ring in WWE (happened on another forum I post on). Yeah. So much for that. I don't know what's bombed harder. His career in WWE or his figures. Not to go too far off topic but quickly jumping in to say that anyone who really watched NJPW over the years knew that Nakamura was beginning to mail it in well before he got to WWE -- he now just does it all the time, lol. It became a running joke during his final years in NJPW that he would mail it in 85 percent of the year and then go all out for like 3-4 big matches. I love the guy for his past but couldn't be more bummed about what he's become. Hey, he's getting paid, though, so good for him I guess. And yeah, I've had enough of his figures for a while.

I just like the one promotion way more than the other right now and there's only so much money I can spend. I try to get one elite of each character in WWE (and with current guys, no doubles at all) and with the AEW line I'm going to be a 100 percent completist, variants and all. Probably gonna get doubles to have one MOC and one loose set of AEW too. The big change here for me will be being much, much stricter with my spending on the current WWE product and less "Oh, that does look cool!" purchases. Cause that money's gotta be saved for what I'll be spending on the AEW line.

Well all I know is the AEW line isn’t going to change a damn thing about how I collect the Mattel WWE figures. I may cherry pick a few AEW figures here n there, but my focus will always be on Mattel.
