Wasn't that the kerfuffle early on, that the championships were allegedly switched around for Okada and Tana? Tanahashi has a white strap Heavyweight title and Okada had a black strap Intercontinental title. Yeah that’s it. Hope those details are fixed along with the knee pads missing on Tanahashi and Ishii having knee pads.

Will Kota Ibushi be in series 3 or jay white ? I'm not entirely sure we're going to get to a third series of these but the rumor for series 3 was Bullet Club. As an aside, I've heard from a friend that New Japan are the reason we haven't seen the actual final figures. Apparently, S7 can't show any painted samples until they're complete.

That would be a shame if we didn't get a Series 3. A company that can't be said.. is making Jay White, David Finlay and Juice Robinson. So, that maybe furthers the idea of no Series 3.

Those deals all happened before Super7 New Japan if memory serves.

I know we all want them, but I guess it makes sense that NJPW has almost zero priority to get this done. Yes, they will sell them in Japan I'm sure. But some small little American company making toys mostly for niche collectors in America really isn't something they concern themselves with at the weekly meeting.

It's not that they're low priority, and the figures are being sold in Japan. It's that New Japan are notoriously difficult when it comes to approving pretty much any kind of merch.

It's not that they're low priority, and the figures are being sold in Japan. It's that New Japan are notoriously difficult when it comes to approving pretty much any kind of merch. Why I've never gotten an answer from anyone I know who's designed merch for them, it's seemingly how they've always been. It's either they take forever to approve a design like I've heard about with t-shirts and other merch, or in the case of these it seems they don't want the figures being shown until they're 100% complete which would mean February would be the next time we see them because they're supposed to be on the water before Chinese New Year. They're such a weird company because doing things this way leaves a lot of money on the table and when you're so gung-ho about international expansion and you've made a killing off of shirts being sold in the states...wouldn't you want that action figure money too?

Nintendo are also really weird about a lot of merch and other things. Might be a weird quirk of japanese businesses

I finally went ahead and pre-ordered Okada. I'm sure the final product will include the correct IWGP Heavyweight Championship on a black strap. There's no way they'll screw that up... Right? ...Right?

They're hoping to have these on the water by Chinese New Year, which is 2/12. If they miss that window, we're looking at these hitting the water sometime in March and arriving around the time we were supposed to get series 2. Insane.

Brian Flynn posted a picture of the shipper boxes the figures will come in. They're shipping to Super7 by the end of the month, which means we're going to get them in March or April. ing finally. https://www.instagram.com/p/CKZO2SjnhER

As long as New Japan approved those boxes... Ha! The fact we're finally at the end of the road with these is great but man...how long is the wait for series 2 gonna be? Are they already in production right behind series 1?

I'm holding a little hope that the turnaround won't be as arduous and frustrating, with prototypes being available at PO open instead of mock-up images.

Hopefully them having the hand painted prototypes ready means these can go into production right after series 1. Crazy to think it's been what...eight months since that preorder?
