I spitefully hope they sell about 100 He-Man figures worldwide. I may be wrong, but can’t imagine there being a very big market for those. While many of us probably transitioned from MOTU to WWF Hasbro’s among others, there is no crossover appeal here that I can see. I think collectors would prefer more classics of those lines separately rather than those mis-mashes. Of course. I don't see the appeal of either these or the Ghostbusters. I'm sure there is some crossover in fanbases, but I don't know that that translates to wanting weird amalgamation figures. I'm a huge fan of both Turtles and wrestling and never had in interest in those WWE Turtles, for instance. I think there are a few kicks in the groin for the overly sensitive among us here. In addition to debuting two absurd crossover lines aimed at collectors while killing the one line collectors have been clamoring for for two decades, they also showed that Anvil figure on the very day they ended the line that was begging for an Anvil from day one. I had pretty much stopped buying WWE figures due to lack of interest in the television product/price point, but the Retros brought me back. I bought every single one, and following the line actually got me back into the hobby in general, which resulted in a few impulse Elite purchases. Can't see myself buying another WWE figure moving forward unless WWE happens to get hot again and I'm compelled to pick up some guys from the TV show.

I mean, I love the Ghostbusters. And I've purchased plenty of figures of Ghostbusters characters. I have no interest in a figure of The Rock wearing a Ghostbusters jumpsuit when it's accurate to neither the Ghostbusters or wrestling.
If someone is into those things, god bless them. I just prefer some fidelity to the source material in anything I'd buy, which means the mashups hold little appeal to me.

Don't hold your breath for any retros for a long time. Walmart is already marking these down, so I assume target will follow soon in not already. How long was the gap between defining moments get cancelled and reborn only to die again ? 2-3 years I think, that's probably the best case scenario. But again what killed the defining moments line version 2 ? Maybe it was several walmarts getting 100 plus ultimate warrior figures at one time and not selling. I don't think S7 is as big a problem with Target. The one Target by me has had 0 retros for months. And the one ten minutes away had 4 of S7 left as of last night. Target had less peg space for them, so they were only really getting a box at a time. Plus we've seen some reports of S8 showing up at Target.

I could still see retro's having a future. Maybe something with Ringside but I doubt we will ever see them in stores again, distribution has been a nightmare. Either way it was really cool of Mattel to make this line.

I would suggest that this is in an effort to throw the scent off, expect retro reveals today.

Probably from all the people complaining about how crappy the retros were and how much better they could have been... i guess crappy and poor choice of characters are better than no retros at all. Poor (understatement) distribution was a massive issue... BUT they were always available on ringside if you really wanted them.

I think as far as the Ghostbusters line one of the main reasons we probably got that one was Mattel using all of the parts they already had lying around from both their Ghostbusters and WWE figure line to push out something easy along with the new Ghostbusters movie coming out. Looks like they didn't do much but throw a coat of paint on everything for that one and I guess a few new parts here and there maybe.

I didn’t want to wake up and see the news about the Retro line, but I’m just glad we got who we did. This line was what made me get back into collecting figures after I sold everything in 2015.

Lots of people clamouring for Ringside exclusives.
Yes, it would be better than nothing, but it would only really suit USA collectors.
Ringside do ship internationally, but the shipping it severely overpriced, and add to that taxes on top...and it just isn't a reasonably affordable price for the international customer.
Mattel would have to do a deal with a European (or rest of the world) distributor as well.

I'm still waiting out this weekend. The wrestling figure news posts are basically reposts of news that has already been posted/shown elsewhere and pushing figures/toys through various sites, including here. Once someone actually says it at SDCC, I'll believe it.

Agree. Line after line is falling due to poor choices. At times the choices are flat out stupid. As far aa retros go they should have stuck other figures in the line when they had the chance.
They were smart enough to go down the hasbro road,so they should have used that to offer some missing figures...
Miss elizabeth Paul bearer Commentators Vince mcmahon Powers of pain L.o.d no spikes
The second series was amazing to be fair, but i cant understand why they would release dx hhh but 8 series later there is still no word on xpac or the outlaws.
Whoever is in charge of this stuff needs sacked. Its so obvious what that line needed. The line was failed by the people around it....

Series 1 and 2 really looked like an awesome passion. project but after that it just went off the rails. It looked just like when movie studios step in and interfere with a great director's vision because of their focus group testing or some test screenings. It really looks like WWE or the higher ups at Mattel stepped in and did something like that. I mean, anyone who loved the old Hasbro line could have put together better choices than most of what we got. You don't need to be a professional. After Series 1 and 2 I'll give them props for guys like Angle, Jericho, Flair, Savage, Goldust and Diesel but otherwise a huge step down.

They've made Bill into a "character". Let's not forget this is the same person who said "No plans for a Big Bossman figure... Then literally 3 weeks later we had a flashback Bossman in stores. Honestly I think it's in good fun; messing around with collectors. I'd say wait until Sunday to get bummed if at all.
