Maybe there would be a way for Hasbro to do them and just the Hasbro style once again?

Im sure rsc could keep doing them. Even 1 at a time. If they were the right guys, ala early/mid 90s itd do great.

Why not just make them Ringside Exclusives? Even if it's one at a time, or one series a year. Agreed.Ringside, Amazon, Walmart and targets online stores only. Takes away the distribution problem. That would definitely be nice. I mean, that's pretty much what they are now anyway. Online exclusives.

The line died simply because of two things: -Poor distribution: I couldn't get anything past series 2 in the UK at all. Aside from Diesel who I got from RSC. -Awful lineups: A line that only existed solely because of nostalgia, and they majoratively made modern people who most old fans won't have even heard of, all while either ignoring legends, or adding legends who didn't even fit the OG hasbro era. All of those figures on, all Hasbro fans really had to add to their collections were a purple Undertaker, an inferior Green Warrior, JYD, Green Macho Man and Diesel While I wasn't a huge fan of most lineups, it seemed like that's what the collectors wanted. I mean, definitely should've had way more legends/flashbacks, but if they never did a Rollins or Styles then people would be wanting them. My favs are by far the legends, and i feel that most people feel the same way. JYD, Macho Man x2, Sheik, Flair, Sting, Warrior.

Anyone think the price might go up on these now, like on Ebay and Amazon? I really dont think they will be obsolete at all. Especially since a lot never made it to retail, they are going to be really hard to find after a while.

Game over. Typical Mattel. Don't have the decency to actually announce it. 100% Game Over. Has there ever been a line that was "on ice" or "on hold" that actually came back? Honest Question, I'd really like to know. Doesn't seem like that's something Mattel would do. Defining moments

I’m seriously bummed. I have every one of these and was looking forward to the announcement of more this week. This really sucks. Here’s me collection....

I asked at the booth - the line isn’t dead, but it’s on ice basically. It sounds like distribution may have finally done them in; there was talk about maybe bringing the line back at some point with a relaunch or something, but honestly I don’t know how likely that might be. I thanked Mattel for bringing-out Diesel at least, and we talked a bit about other figures that the line still needed, but it doesn’t sound too positive - not completely hopeless, but yeah... Unfortunately, it sounds very similar to what they said about the (Target) HOC and (Walmart) Flashback lines - it's like: "they've not been cancelled... we just aren't making any more of them".

Maybe they took a min to figure out distribution. But will come back with better carding, tag team sets and who knows what else.

Yeah, I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt really by taking them at their word that the line isn’t 100% dead, but realistically I doubt any of us are hopeful of coming back from this.

It's mattels own awful distribution that killed yet another line.
Target stores where barely moving them at all on my area with 1 peg clogged with series 4. Then walmart gets series 7 in stock 1 case at a time and they sell out 3-4 times.
Then walmart sends 3-4 cases of more damn series 7 retros, and that's all she wrote folks. Combine that with 5 below getting in new retros at half price and the line was doomed.

Maybe they took a min to figure out distribution. But will come back with better carding, tag team sets and who knows what else. I think it would do well if they would go to 8 guys per wave, 3:1 ratio of flashback:current. And they would also need to produce less of each guy. Clearly not enough demand for the quantities of S7, but then you would have thought they'd of figured that out after the same thing happened with S3. If you get out more of the guys the old Hasbro collectors really wanted, as well as sprinkle in the big names from the current roster, I think intrest would be peaked. I don't see tag cards ever happening, but it would be easy enough to get more tag teams out like they did with New Day. Besides Hart Foundation, what big teams from the Hasbro era could actually be made? ATM, no Demolition, no Rockers, no Owen/Yoko, no Owen/Bulldog, no British Bulldogs, no Steiner Brothers.

Don't hold your breath for any retros for a long time. Walmart is already marking these down, so I assume target will follow soon in not already.
How long was the gap between defining moments get cancelled and reborn only to die again ? 2-3 years I think, that's probably the best case scenario.
But again what killed the defining moments line version 2 ? Maybe it was several walmarts getting 100 plus ultimate warrior figures at one time and not selling.

I spitefully hope they sell about 100 He-Man figures worldwide.

I spitefully hope they sell about 100 He-Man figures worldwide. I may be wrong, but can’t imagine there being a very big market for those. While many of us probably transitioned from MOTU to WWF Hasbro’s among others, there is no crossover appeal here that I can see. I think collectors would prefer more classics of those lines separately rather than those mis-mashes.
